Sorry Moyes haters. He comes a Moyes loving post.
Since his return:
1.54 points per game ave.
1.53 Ancelotti.
1.50 Moyes, 1st time.
77 points, only 5 teams have more.
11 points more than last season.
16 clean sheets, only City, Arsenal and Palace have more.
The stats are clear to see our progress. But let's not that get in the way of moaning we don't play like Real Madrid.
We're not City or Arsenal or top 4, yet, and we might not, but how many teams are? Look at Spurs, Man Utd have been way off, Chelsea will struggle this year.
We are making good solid progress, a possibility of Europe and with good recruitment in the summer who knows.
I for one hope we give Moyes at least a 2yr extension and see what happens.
{Ed025's Note - i must admit he has done a lot better than i expected BB, iwould not be opposed to a small extension mate and see how it goes..
26 Mar 2026 17:40:17
Yep, short extension rather than a big long contract. Sensible given whoever is manager, as things change quickly.
This is a manager who gets Everton, is Everton, and wants what is best for Everton.
27 Mar 2026 08:47:06
Moyes is doing well at the moment. I was against him coming back, and, given the way we wimped out of both cup competitions and our awful home form, I thought this was only going to go one way. However, recent games have given me more hope that a slight change in tactics, ie not sitting back at home but pressing the opposition instead, has made it a lot more enjoyable to watch now.
Still not happy with the way he uses substitutes (this is not an eleven man game anymore) . Can only hope we finish the season strong now, as where we finish will determine whether we have had a good season or not. If we do miss out on European football, then that will be down to our early season form, which was poor. Oh, and Man Utd are in Champions League position at the moment. I would take that.
27 Mar 2026 12:46:39
Didn't wimp out of the FA Cup. Sunderland at the time were a team in form and playing well. Went to penalties and the BB's decided to play silly buggars. Even Garner missed.
27 Mar 2026 14:06:39
Man Utd are currently in top 4 yeah. But very well documented recent team struggles over the last few seasons, for a club that was almost guaranteed CL football.
27 Mar 2026 15:08:29
Another good summer window and we can kick on again. If we had a decent striker we'd be in the Champions League places this season.
27 Mar 2026 16:27:15
We did wimp out of the cup, played negative football, and only livened up when we made subs. Sunderland were there for the taking, and we didn't bother. Stop trying to make excuses for what was a very poor performance.
Their top four, that's all you need to know.
27 Mar 2026 17:45:05
He's done a great job, but there have been times we have been left wondering "what if." with Moyes. He rightly deserves another season as a minimum, but I hope he buys some decent players, gives the youth some game time, comes up with a plan B, and stops playing players out of position.
This year's league has been so open, we could well have been even higher if we hadn't bottled some of the games you'd have hoped we would win or at least get a point, only to end up losing them.
27 Mar 2026 21:09:07
Watched the game, Brass, that is all I know. Both sides were quiet until the goal. Second half, we were the better side. I don't make excuses, just report what I see, not an expert like some, I do admit.
27 Mar 2026 23:10:28
Season of two halves so far. Can't excuse cup form, and as it's been said by others, if our home form had been better, then we would certainly be lauding him for what he has done.

Interesting read, BN.
Still think we need to sort other partitions first as we should have JB and JOB as starting CBs with Keane or Tarks as backup. A younger lad is needed to cover the 4th place. Just get a RB and LB so we don't have to play 4 CBs.
27 Mar 2026 21:14:07
100% agree that it is nowhere near a priority, BR, but I would let one of the 3 move on and get somebody who is of a higher calibre in. We never know how many games we are going to get out of JB anyway, mate.
25 Mar 2026 20:42:51
Any word on Jimmy getting a new contract.
25 Mar 2026 21:10:25
He signed one a few weeks ago.

Great post, that blue nose, as always, mate, you know your knowledge. Just wondering if you know any right backs we are linked with or who would your choice be.
25 Mar 2026 17:48:14
Excellent post BN, that was some read mate.
{Ed025's Note - he certainly knows his stuff GB...excellent stuff BN..
25 Mar 2026 18:48:00
Good read that, I'd be more than happy with OBrien and Branthwaite as starting CB with Keane and Tarks as backup next season, but defo agree we need to keep bringing in younger potential starters if we're to keep improving.
Big fan of Tarks ever since he signed, wish we'd got him sooner.

Cheers Gents, much appreciated.
Andy, I've no idea who we are interested in, mate, other than what you have probably seen, mate. The names like Ben White, El Ouahdi, Holm and Norton-Cuffy seem to keep appearing.
I would personally love to see us get one of the below, mate.
Juanlu Sanchez (Seville)
Omar El Hilali (Espanyol)
Raoul Bellanova (Atalanta)
Failing them, 3.
Guela Doue (Strasbourg)
Rodrigo Huescas (Copenhagen) .

Great read that Ed 001 you must be annoyed with Liverpool this season bit like my son he's a red but wouldn't be surprised if youse win the champions league mate I know youse have psg but anfield the atmosphere wouldn't rule it out mate
{Ed001's Note - with Slot in charge it seems unlikely but I guess it is not impossible.}

Morning my fellow Evertonians, how many of you on this forum would like to see us achieve European football again, whether it be Conference League or Europa, and how many just want a highest league table finish as possible and then address our glaring squad issues like both fullbacks and up front a striker and go again stronger next season hopefully.
25 Mar 2026 08:11:46
European football is a must if we want to move forward and become a "top team" again. Simply improving year upon year is not good enough.
25 Mar 2026 19:05:53
No brainer for me. We aspire to be one of the biggest teams in England again, and that means European football. With it comes more games and therefore higher revenue. We can also manage a bigger squad and attract better players. Bring it on.
25 Mar 2026 20:00:17
We must be in Europe to attract a better pedigree of player, my one concern would be we don't have a big squad, so would need to invest because you only have to look at some of the team who have gained Europe but the league form has dropped dramatically, so big investment would definitely be needed for me.
26 Mar 2026 15:02:05
Not only attracting the right players, but Europe is essential to keeping our best players. So yes, we need it more than it needs us for sure.

25 Mar 2026 08:15:52
Why would you pay 50m for a thirty year old? Parrot 50m? Doubt that. Think you need to tweak your figures a little, plus nobody who watches football is going to give us 25m for Barry.
27 Mar 2026 13:27:35
Pickford, Sanchez, Tarks, Branthwaight, Robinson
Garner, KDH, Summerville, Grelish, Ibroimsh,
Brobby.
Cost a bit, but win the league.
24 Mar 2026 22:37:10
Pickford is first out of all goalkeepers in total (652) and on-target (211) shots faced in the Premier League since Moyes came back. He leads the league in goals prevented (+10.2) , and saves (147) in the same period.
This season, Pickford also leads the way for goals prevented (6.0) .
24 Mar 2026 22:19:01
So rubbish, they couldn't even sell him, just glad to get his Rediculess wages off the books, haven't givern a dam since he go that grotesque contract.
25 Mar 2026 08:17:13
Errr, who?
24 Mar 2026 19:58:18
Cheeky bid for Mo anyone.

{Ed025's Note - possibly GB..
25 Mar 2026 08:18:31
Again, another player who is now past his best. Surprised we haven't put a bid in for him to be honest. 😂
