Pleased with our signings but still have reservations paying Jack Harrison's wages in full, although he looked sharp training in Miami and obviously felt he under performed last season by his comments.
Although we seem to be linked with the world and his wife, I'm concerned we seem to be falling behind, to the likes of Ipswich on players in positions we need to recruit and cover.
Keane and Holgate have proven they neither have the pace or speed of reaction to offer an alternative should Tarkowski or Brainthwaite get injured, so the need for a replacement with the pace and necessary skill set is a priority.
I appreciate we may be waiting for the probable sale of Onana to raise the necessary funds but and it's a big but sometimes you need to take a calculated risk to insure your preferred target is secured.
There's plenty of time left in the market to realise sales for the likes of Beto, Maupay, Keane and Holgate so hopefully Thelwell will continue the good work in the transfer market.

calculated risk but if you don't have any money then you can't buy jack.

03 Jul 2024 21:13:48
Don’t need to buy jack mate, he’s on loan ?.

02 Jul 2024 20:29:10
If the club can secure a naming rights deal for the new ground, would this be set against the fpp calculations?
The ground is almost complete, so a payment any time within this year may make a significant impact on the calculation.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jul 2024 22:04:46
I suspect it would but I also suspect it would be divided over the length of the deal for FFP purposes i. e. £20mill over 5 years, £4mill a year.
I am probably completely wrong but that would be my guess.

02 Jul 2024 17:34:03
Hoping this doesn't turn into a summer of missed opportunities on the transfer front. Seemed to be linked to some decent youngsters last week, but all going abit quiet, early days I know. Hopefully Ndiaye signing will be announced soon.

{Ed025's Note - it will be Mocker..

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jul 2024 17:45:39
Hopefully they might announce it with a couple of others?

Hoping we don't miss out on Philogene at Hull Ed, Barcelona apparently sniffing so not confident same with young CB at Peterborough Ronnie Edwards, highly thought of but plenty interest.

Guessing Onana potentially going is key to our targets, now out of Euro's may see couple in soon.

{Ed025's Note - yeah mocker i think Onana will go mate...and possibly Jarrad, it will open the way for us to go on a bit of a spending spree hopefully and lets hope we buy sensibly and move forward hey,

02 Jul 2024 18:21:10
Would be nice Ed?. Onana will go, Jarrad not so sure Ed especially if Utd get De Ligt in from Bayern.

Be more happy for Jarrad to stay unless someone comes in with crazy money or he wants out. Got a young striker in from Striker, nice seeing us trying to get some youth in opposed to letting them go.

{Ed025's Note - im hearing that he does want the move Mocker, i would like him to stay of course but if his heart is not in it then personally i would sell mate..

02 Jul 2024 19:41:08
Yeah that's the worry Ed. The young striker is from Arsenal that should have said.

02 Jul 2024 20:22:50
If you said 12 months ago you’d get 12 million for Jarrod after an average euros you’d be running to the bank. Take the money.

02 Jul 2024 20:49:52
But he ain't played in Euro's Ocean? ?.

Are you saying sell Branthwaite for £12 million, surely not! ? Bit confused sorry.

02 Jul 2024 21:29:13
£70 million I mean and season not euros think I’ve had one too many.

02 Jul 2024 22:38:23
And I meant average season at psv not us where he has been excellent.

03 Jul 2024 06:52:45
Lol ok Ocean been there mate. ?. Think if and around £70 million we will accept, big money and profit. Love to keep him but if any inkling wants out then so be it, as you say his form could dip but am hopeful that his trajectory goes sky high wearing the Everton jersey. ??.

01 Jul 2024 20:08:31
A couple of free signings I would happily take is Ben Johnston and Ndidi and Inehacho ( squad player )

Hopefully we can get shut of Maupay, Holgate, Keane, Beto we need to set a date for a decision on DCL as he clearly wants a move I would strip him of No 9 shirt as are talisman future should be confirmed at club as for DCL he has been out of form and injury issues recently think if can get a decent offer would take it IMO

Thoughts on Broja, Abraham as possible replacement. I would personally like us to approach Chelsea with a loan deal for Romulu Lukaku as I personally rate him very high and he has a relationship with club and fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2024 20:32:20
Ben Johnson’s already signed for Ipswich I think, Sean. We could do worse than Ndidi for sure.
Rom’s looked atrocious for Belgium in the last few games. Hope we can persuade Dom to stay, if not then we should sell him to the highest bidder. I’d take a punt on Abraham, Guirassy as a long shot, or Beier maybe.

02 Jul 2024 14:55:38
Ihenacho not the right character for me and wages are silly.

Lukaku has not been the same since he left us and as JB rightly said, he’s been awful for Belgium. Exactly the type of signing we used to make and one we should have moved away from.

Broja looked decent when first broke through but hasn’t kicked on. Has had injury problems and can’t even get in Fulham’s side. No from me.

Abraham a better option but he may not be the same as he was due to a serious knee injury.

Guirassy has gone to dortmund JB.

02 Jul 2024 16:45:24
We are going to be top heavy if we don't ship any out DCL BETO CHIMITRI NDIAYE once its confirmed oh and maupay aswell. Who goes and who comes in is going to interesting broja is a no for me he isn't worth £35 million.

02 Jul 2024 18:20:04
Ndiaye can play as a ten. Would be a better option than Dacoure.

{Ed025's Note - im with you Harlex..

03 Jul 2024 08:33:37
100% Why they are buying him Harlex ?.

01 Jul 2024 14:36:06
See Everton are going to honour Seamus Coleman for his contribution and outstanding professionalism and excellent captain and leader of our club been a loyal servant and you can see how much he cares about our club and his passion for the fans, future. We will be starting our pre season campaign with a trip to Ireland to take on Sligo Rovers. If this is to be his last season I really hope we can win a domestic trophy for our captain as he is a true Everton Legend and will hopefully get a coaching role when he hangs his boots up. Like many fans he has experienced the pain and suffering of Fa cup final defeats and semi final defeats. He has been through the best and hardest times but always comes back stronger the next campaign. He has been a superb signing for £60k at one point he was one of best RB in the Premier League as reliable, solid player and liked to score screamers. I hope he can complete this season and captain us in our new home in 2025/ 26 season.

Ditto that Sean, Seamus is a True Blue mate.

01 Jul 2024 18:29:53
Good, we could do with more players like him who want to play for the club.

02 Jul 2024 07:32:26
Wonder who we’ll play in the home friendly the weekend before the season starts. Someone with some historical relevance to Goodison?

02 Jul 2024 17:40:00
Bayern munich would be ace.

01 Jul 2024 12:29:02
Now the end of the month has passed, how long will it take before we will no if we have breached any rules or no, will this be a lengthy process or not . Just hope we don't get half way threw the season with it hanging over our heads again, just ruins the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jul 2024 13:20:23
Good question Bp am not sure meself tbh mate are we actually out of it or still in the ruff stuff be interesting if anyone does know or the eds know any inside knowledge on the current psr.

01 Jul 2024 15:52:07
I would liked to have known how much we were over, just hope that saga has finally finished mate.

01 Jul 2024 16:51:17
They have to submit their accounts to the Premier league by 31st December at the latest.
June 30th is just the end of the accounting year for Everton.
The published accounts don't show the final PSR figure as such.
Then the Premier league will decide whether it accepts Evertons PSR figure or what's been accounted towards/ against it.

02 Jul 2024 09:05:05
Still the debate over interest payments on the stadium to resolve. Prem say one thing and we say another.

Let us try to ignore the financial side for now and enjoy the feeling of positivity.

I for one am sick of trying to figure it all out.

01 Jul 2024 02:11:32
The more I read into 777 and their business dealings, the more I am bemused at FM giving them exclusivity. It just goes to show that he has no business acumen at all.

Thankfully Friedkin seems to be the polar opposite of both. He will steadily guide us to financial stability and hopefully in time put us in a position to compete for European football again.

I hope that he gives Sean time to build a strong squad and show what a good manager he is.

Yep my sentiments exactly WT. ?.

01 Jul 2024 11:09:30
Couldn't agree more WT. With stabaility and good recruitment let's see how far we can go!

01 Jul 2024 17:13:20
Martin Jol once said, football clubs are multimillion pound businesses but are run totally differently to any other multimillion pound businesses. Moshiri has found that out the hard way as have others before and it looks like the Man u guy is having his eyes opened on this aswell.

30 Jun 2024 13:04:53
Reckon we will see a big sale for Everton today, DCL maybe.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Jun 2024 10:55:17
How about sell Beto to Galatasaray, DCL to Milan (if he doesn't sign a contract) , offload Keane and Holgate.

Sign Philogene and Greeves from Hull,
Whitaker from Plymouth scored 20 goals 8 assists in 50 games last season.

And would love Richy on loan if DCL leaves.

If only Carlsberg did transfers mate.

30 Jun 2024 09:35:14
As thing currently stand, are we inside the PSR limit or above it. Know that none of you can know for certain, but from your contacts within the club, what is the current view.

29 Jun 2024 21:40:37
Not Everton related but how sick must Joachim Andersen feel, gets a goal cruelly took off him then gets an awful penalty decision given against him.
These decisions going against Denmark are shocking.

29 Jun 2024 22:23:57
English officials for you.

29 Jun 2024 22:49:12
Game’s gone. Danes were robbed.

30 Jun 2024 07:27:56
I turned it off after that, ruined the whole game, never off side for me, and how in the hell was that a penalty, games gone mad and it's being ruined by idiot looking at a TV monitor.

30 Jun 2024 09:09:55
Feel football is almost dead now after watching that last night. Absolutely pathetic display by the officials/ var / so called rules.

30 Jun 2024 10:36:11
For me he was offside even before VAR and it was definitely handball. I thought Michael Keane had changed nationality! Put you arm up like that and it will go against you 100% of the time.

Having said all that Denmark I thought were very good again Germany. God knows how our lot a draw against them.

30 Jun 2024 11:55:43
Never handball BlueJohn.

30 Jun 2024 15:42:09
Technically was a handball JB, but in no way is that how football should be, horrible decision given, exact same in regards the offside, Denmark can rightly feel hard done by.

30 Jun 2024 16:01:10
Which is what I meant.
