Hey Ed further to my post below when you see what DM inherited when he took over we we're down and almost out, he's steadied the ship and right up to our Meresyderby we were in touch of 5 th place then for some reason it went xxxx up, I want to see what he can do after a window or two if we are not competing I'm sure TFG will move DM on, I don't have a problem with that I just think he should be given a chance with some decent players, just my opinion mate.
1
{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions GB and i have no problem with guys who think he should stay, i dont even have a problem with us not getting Europe or finishing in 13th place mate, my beef is with the standard of football and the fact that he plays players who are absolutely useless and does not try anything different or give youth a chance..

I agree, mate. For what ever reason the last few games have been dire, the players also have to take the can for that, as we have said, many in our first Team are simply not good enough. That's why I want to see new faces then judge him, mate.

We have new faces, and the dinosaur doesn't play them. He spent enough last year to prove that he's useless. He doesn't deserve anything, thanks for the memories, but see ya.

What decent players are they though? We would all class KDB, Garner and Ndiaye as decent players, for example. We still finished 13th.
Look at who we are linked with, old men with bad injury problems on huge wages. White, Stones, March, I have no doubt the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Jordan Henderson will be linked too soon.
We signed some really talented youngsters and he's not using them.
If we give him another season, it will only be worse.
Sunderland really killed any excuses Moyes had for this season.
They came up, replaced their whole team near enough, had injuries and still made Europe.
Here's what happens:
He signs all these old washed up players, they are injured most of the season and then we hear excuses of "well he deserves a chance with them all fit". Or we sign youngsters and he doesn't play them, then we are in the same position next year.
It's honestly just a waste, his time has passed. We will dither as usual, miss the boat and end up with Nuno or Scott Parker as manager.

Just look at the football, please. It's utterly rubbish. Nerves at the back, hoof ball to two of the worst strikers we've ever had. We have KDH and IN who can run with the ball and it sails over their heads.
It's inexplicable that we use tactics that cancel out our only real threat.
That's Moyes all day long.
Add to that, we have all season failed to address this issue of not playing until the second half.
A manager worth having would've addressed that within the season. Under Moyes, it just got worse. I'm done with excuses. He can go now.

Moyes has definitely brought stability to the club; it's much better being annoyed that we came 13th than relieved we came 17th.
That said, his stubbornness is so frustrating. Keane and Tarks cannot play together at CB. O'Neil cannot play RB. McNeil is not a RW.
George has been our best player since March, but hardly plays. Aznou was seen for ten mins, was amazing, and was never seen again. Worst of all, we are being linked with old, past it players.
I am torn, so many things to like about Moyes, but so many frustrations.

25 May 2026 23:38:56
We finished 13th last season as well, mate.
So yeah, it's stable, but we aren't going any higher.
25 May 2026 18:30:32
I think itβs safe to say Moyes has lost 70% of the fans now. I wanted him gone before the season started, just wasnβt vocal about it, and sadly I was proved right in the way we set up.
Just wondering, realistically, who do we fancy to come in and hit the ground running, because if we do make a change it has to be the right decision and has to be for the long term, not the transfer merry go round we had under Moshiri.
Personally Iβd be talking to Iraola's agents and asking how much he wants and give it him if he wants to stay in the Prem why not with us.

AC Milan have contacted his representatives. I saw it on Sky Sports.
25 May 2026 17:26:40
Friedken Group seem content in just staying in the league. But if we keep Moyes on next season, I see further decline and can see us back to fighting relegation and that's an honest assessment. We are lucky we already gained the points. Look how many points we have dropped in our last six games alone.
Moyes is Mr safe and pragmatic that will not move the needle because if the clubs at the bottom of the league raise their standards next season, we are in the mix with all the bottom feeders.
With Moyes it's like watching a movie that you have seen countless times, but you are somehow asked to believe it will end differently even though you know it can't. π«£π«£πππππ

Seen some stuff on social media about "least give him until Christmas", why? What's the point? If he's done a bad enough job to be sacked by Christmas, then we've wasted half a season. The other alternative is that he's been "steady" enough to keep his job, but towards the end we will do the same as this season. There is a 0% chance we get Europe with him, there won't be as many European places as this season, the points required will not be this low again.
Strike while the iron is hot, don't wait until it's too late to make a decision, act now while people are available. If we get to Christmas or the end of next season and we obviously have had a shocker again, he'll go. Who will be available then? Brendan Rodgers? Troy Deeney? Some people say Duncan Ferguson with Rooney as his assistant or whatever, please spare me.
25 May 2026 16:02:48
That's me signing off after a disappointing season. Enjoy your holidays and, if watching the World Cup, don't annoy the neighbours lol. See you all next season, hopefully for a fresh new start however that might be.
25 May 2026 15:53:45
Well pal, even the previous in Moyes we trust posters on our forum are saying enough is enough, and he needs to slip gracefully away from the club rather than saying, as he did, that we did ok in the Spurs game and managed to keep the score to one nil, and we were the better team fur the lady 20 mins.
The last time I looked, a game was 90 mins excluding injury and stoppages. He really should be a politician; he has so much spin. π«£π«£π₯π₯π₯π‘π€¬

I think the reason this season has been so frustrating is that it's the first time in a long time we have the tools to do something decent, but still didn't.
For years, things have just looked dire, but I look at our squad now, I look at players like Branthwaite, Garner, KDH, Ndiaye and they're some of the best we've had in decades. I look at the young players like Armstrong, George, Dibling and Aznou and think there is huge potential in there, and look at players who haven't exactly set the world alight, like Tim and Rohl and think there is genuinely quality players in there, under the right management - and with all these pieces, Moyes has delivered 1 more point than last season and arguably even worse football.
I know I'm not in the minority wanting Moyes out, but, personally, I don't think people realise how urgent it is that he goes.
If he stays, all the prospects are forced out, and they're replaced by Soucek's and anyone else 31+ Moyes can find. He doesn't just consolidate us into a 14th place team, he lets slip whatever hope we have for a future above that.

Another thing people forget about West Ham, it's all well and good saying "look what happened after he left them", but you are aware they had to replace a lot of really old players that he bought?

25 May 2026 21:27:46
Been saying that, Swan, he built a team for one season not for the future.

I don't think they will be content with that longer term, but it would certainly have been the aim for last season.

I'm with you JB, I think he has maybe a couple of windows for new players, if things don't progress enough for TFG, then he will be gone, he has at least earned that with some of the players we have that need binning.

{Ed025's Note - what he has earned GB is over Β£10m mate for the job he has done so far, if all you Moyes apologists are happy with the job he has done then we will get what we deserve..

They pulled the trigger fairly quickly at Roma when things weren't going well, I think. A successful team is more profitable after all.

25 May 2026 16:37:00
I was pleased when they brought him back originally to steady the ship, but the results and points achieved in last seven games can only be a cause for concern over his future.
1
25 May 2026 16:43:15
I don't buy into this idea of "he's earned this". He's given players that need binning, new contracts, he's using players that need binning, ahead of players he chose to buy.
25 May 2026 12:14:19
I think rather than stating whatever one had said which I agree with - what is on the to do list as immediate jobs to be done:
1. Conversation with Moyes - why did you play same players all year and not play players you asked us to buy and why is football so awful to watch - ultimately - see you later - take Baines and everyone with you - we want a complete reset
2. Defence - centre halves Obrien, Branthwaite - personally would not say no to Stones. New Rt and Lt back
3. Garner captain - is Dibling good enough - after next season he only has x2 yrs on contract - play him
Or cut losses.
Apologise to George, Merlin Armstrong, Dibling and Alcaraz over game time and tell them have big part next season. Sign Grealish if deal is right.
4. Get Barry out of club
5. Need to start thinking who comes after Pickford.
- Matty Young on loan from Sunderland to Salford
- honestly heβs the real deal - I think he will go all the way
6. New striker
Donβt have many sellable assets so money probs going to need a few loans.

That sounds like the outline of at least a decent plan of action. Sobs!
Come on TFG, do the right thing and move us forward. ππ»

25 May 2026 14:59:06
I'd say we have plenty of sellable assets, Sobs. Just hope they sell the right ones.
25 May 2026 10:26:57
Think yesterday in the last ten minutes or so we had a little peek at what could have been. Alcaraz, Armstrong and George all showed that we have attack minded players on the bench. It's a crying shame that at a time when certain players were clearly out of form that these players were not used more.
I keep hearing "the manager sees them in training" based on that players like Gascoigne would never have got a game.
Patterson a natural right back, but no the manager decides to play a centre half there who clearly struggles with a pacy winger. In Aznou we had a young player when given the chance did really well then was never seen again, and please don't give me that he's supposed to have a bad attitude. I would if I had Micky in front of me who's been bloody awful.
Alcaraz has been treated appallingly by this manager.
It was clear to anyone watching that KDH's form had dipped but still he played him when Alcaraz would have been the perfect replacement.
Ndiaye is another who has clearly lost form and we have George and Dibling sitting on the bench. Two young players who would have benefited massively with more game time.
Not even going to bother talking about his use of Barry and Beto, that was just embarrassing.
Football is a squad game now not just eleven, and the better managers understand how to rotate there squads and give opportunities to others when players are not performing. And rotating the squad doesn't mean making changes after eighty minutes.
Moyes is very much an old school manager and football has moved on from his "style" of play. If this club really wants success again then they have to move on too.
Happy Holidays people.

{Ed025's Note - spot on Brass..

25 May 2026 11:26:19
100% Brass. Moyes has to go after this past 6 or 8 games.
We have quality sat on the bench wondering what they have to do to get a game.
We could easily have finished top 6 with a modern coach who rotates when necessary.
TFG have to pull the trigger pdq and start a proper rebuild.

An excellent summing up of what has clearly been going wrong this season, Brass.

Good post, Brass.
My only crumb of comfort right now is that I don't have to think about Everton for the next month or so.

Nothing in football annoys me more than the absolutely pointless 'he sees them every day in training' comment. Mourinho saw De Bruyne and Salah in training every day and didn't play them. I can think of literally countless players who couldn't get a minute under 1 manager, then were world class under another.
Plus, we may not see them on the training pitch, but we see them on the actual one, and the performance there is all that matters!
I cannot fathom what Aznou must be like in training to have been limited to 15 mins all season, in which he did more than McNeil has done in 3 years.
