Independent regulator says he will resign if there is Political interference (yeah right) . Burnham up in arms over Everton's punishment but made a well timed comment regarding City.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Oct 2026 16:32:19
Burnham is an idiot and is not welcome at our club.

14 Oct 2026 20:52:25
Yes, Skylark totally agree.

15 Oct 2026 00:04:42
He s the idiot who will save our county from fascists getting their feet under the table in 10 downing street.
Ps, he's also a great Evertonian.

15 Oct 2026 08:42:31
I hope your being sarcastic, ,
If your not let's just leave it there, we don't need to talk politics on here, its hard enough being an evertonian.

15 Oct 2026 09:30:44
Always blue – what an inflammatory and divisive post.

15 Oct 2026 10:18:20
Pots and kettles SNTW.

15 Oct 2026 12:07:25
Really? Well, first off, Skylark expressed a dislike of one politician, and I agreed. While you wish to label all who disagree as extremists.

15 Oct 2026 13:05:46
We will never agree on politics just let it go boys,

15 Oct 2026 13:35:51
It's true; politics are never a good idea in footy.

15 Oct 2026 23:16:59
Politics is a definate no on a football page. People have different reasons for voting for different parties & throwing insults does nothing except cause problems.

UTFT NSNO ? ? ?.

17 Oct 2026 11:32:39
I'm sure there is a politicalrumours page for all this nonsense.

Let's keep it to footy eh.

14 Oct 2026 14:15:27
I see another red card given to a Brighton player has been rescinded, as the panel no doubt use replays of the event to double check it, why can't goals that were not given because the VAR panel disallowed it, surely if they were actually perfectly legal cannot be given as well as the red cards.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Oct 2026 14:31:51
Because we would win the league, and we can't have that GB.

14 Oct 2026 14:37:46
Would love that mate.

14 Oct 2026 15:23:50
Because the season would never finish.

14 Oct 2026 17:11:19
Football is in enough of a mess without deciding results after the event. Just get people who know what the f**k they are doing and not use people who appear to know nothing about the game.

13 Oct 2026 15:09:33
Hiya all just looked down the list of monies club's missed out on due to the corrupt man city accounting. seems Burnley are owed just over 31 million quid, seem to recall that figure somewhere else ? any clues.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Oct 2026 14:24:44
I was listening to Baz's Coffee w/ a Toffee and talking about the league and how it benefits the few at the top. I can't help but think the league should follow a similar set up to American leagues with wage and salary caps. Winning means the players get bonuses, but it doesn't give additional revenue to the actual team.

To me that makes way more sense and when you look at how many different teams have won, I think it would really benefit the fan experience. Obviously, keep the promotion system and avoid "Americanizing" the game, but I do think it could increase competition across the board. Just a thought.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Oct 2026 18:09:43
I agree.

13 Oct 2026 19:45:09
Everyone should be able to spend what they want as long as it's not debt on the club if someone rich wants to buy a club and put their own money in they should be allowed to do so as long as it's their money they are spending. If it goes belly up the club is still there rich man loses his money instead of club going into administration.

Any other business anyone can buy and spend what they want why should football be any different. You should only be allowed to borrow a certain amount on the clubs name once that is maxed out it must be the owners own personal money spent that is spent.

13 Oct 2026 20:15:16
We need an even playing field for all teams or one of the top 6 will continue to win,

13 Oct 2026 20:33:49
We still have corrupt Premiership it can't happen with that lot in power.

13 Oct 2026 21:52:52
Take the money away and the corruption follows.

14 Oct 2026 06:54:38
Salary cap and wage cap is the only way also would love to see the 3 foreigner rule come in the amount of british lads that get released after the academy n never make it into the first team after being at a club from the age of 9 is shocking there's enough talented footballers in this country without importing more in 94% of football teams in this country are making a loss every year it's all going to go bang if nothing is done.

14 Oct 2026 09:58:49
At this moment in time with the present system, it is obviously open to abuse.
The outcome with the City appeal hopefully will be decisive, and something akin to the OP's ideal league ensues.
Personally, I think this will need political backing and encouragement.
Sorry for being cynical, but that's hard to imagine right now.

13 Oct 2026 14:19:28
Report saying we missed out on £66 million due to City cheating. Would that money have prevented us breaking FFP and receiving a points deduction and having to pay Burnley?

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Oct 2026 15:45:44
That's a very good point big reg maybe our defence team can use that in our appeal.

13 Oct 2026 22:59:45
What about the interest on top? Didn't the panel calculate the Burnley payment interest at around 30% or something like that?

14 Oct 2026 07:12:21
Defence team? We lose every battle in front of us.

14 Oct 2026 16:43:39
What they should say first up! you were the people that set the date.

13 Oct 2026 12:12:36
Thanks ed025, what's concerning is that hopefully when we win the appeal is how we get our money back off Burnley because they have massive debts due to their leveraged buyout by their current owners. I feel confident of winning the appeal because if the figures are correct of what Man City have cost other clubs this could be a really long legal battle.

Sorry one more question when we were found guilty our punishment was immediate how come they have been found guilty and not had any immediate punishment like us and forest. Thanks in advance ed.

{Ed025's Note - that’s what we all want to know Andy. I think it’s called corruption mate..

Agree1 Disagree4

13 Oct 2026 14:49:06
Is it on pause because of the appeal, Ed?

{Ed025's Note - i would expect so Lucas, until their charges are known and the punishment dished out we can see how proportionate it is compared to the stiffing we got mate..

13 Oct 2026 15:04:46
I read the hearing is due before Christmas and the ''final'' judgement 30 days after mate.

13 Oct 2026 11:15:34
The more I watch Hull's second goal the worse it gets.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Oct 2026 12:18:31
Stop watching it then mate.

13 Oct 2026 16:32:27
I can't Reg it draws me in mate. Not one defender did his job including the keeper.

13 Oct 2026 10:54:57
Morning Ed's do you have any update with regards to our appeal against the compensation we had to give Burnley?

{Ed025's Note - not yet Andy, i suspect it will be tied up in the charges against City and the outcome of that mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Oct 2026 08:52:17
Loved watching Ndiaye when he was going down the tunnel getting pelters from Liverpool fans. His response to them "Up the Toffees".

Agree4 Disagree0

13 Oct 2026 12:45:35
Brilliant stuff from him.

13 Oct 2026 14:38:34
Not sour grapes here but watched the game on Sunday and ndiaye looked bang average in that city team. i get different systems and not as much tracking back but he didn't look the player he did for us. just my opinion and the only game I have watched him play since we sold him.

12 Oct 2026 17:32:03
I see there a big debate going on as several ex refs are saying The Johnson goal yesterday should have stood hmmmm, that makes me feel better then.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Oct 2026 18:37:57
Of course it should have GB, and of course it must of been 'a clear and obvious error' too being that not many in the game can even understand the decision.
VAR is a load of tosh, a shambles and it's ruining football. 3 teams on the pitch.
Im personally looking forward to watching the Newcastle game in the cup above anything else mate.

13 Oct 2026 07:39:44
From what I could see in the ground was that when Armstrong shot and the defender blocked it the second defender then kicked it against Johnson, meaning two defenders were behind the ball. Therefore Johnson did not become active until that block was made.

13 Oct 2026 07:43:46
They tell us after the match it was a goal; without the well-deserved points, nightmare!

13 Oct 2026 10:40:27
Honest to God, football is doing my head in at the minute. City, VAR, FIFA, Chelsea, The PL, Dodgy billionaires, etc etc.

I love Everton, and for me it's always been the great distraction from all the horrible things in life, but football just reflects the wider world now. Nasty, corrupt and lacking decency.

If they keep messing about with our (and it is ours) great sport, they'll eventually kill the golden goose and people will start turning their backs on elite football.

It really depresses me.

{Ed025's Note - i think we all feel the same Benny mate..

13 Oct 2026 14:43:51
It totally baffled me as well lads thought they was looking for a foul on the keeper then gave offside ? VAR just doesn't like us they was wanting to disallow KDH header as well but couldn't.
