A few of our players can cover so many different positions like Garner and KDH. If Keane doesn't play it might be a blessing not having O'Brien against Doku. Do we put Jimmy there and then KDH can drop back and Charlie goes in his favoured 10, Ndiaye on his favoured left-side for 1 week and Dibling on the right. That does bring into play the Beto/ Barry/ Neither conundrum. If Garner is at right back one of the two simply has to play or alternatively we go Coleman and shift Alcaraz or Ndiaye up top.

{Ed025's Note - for me we have to sacrifice Jimmy and play him at right back BN, a shame because he has been excellent in midfield for me, it has to be Alcaraz in midfield with Beto up top im afraid because Barry will hopefully be busy cutting up the oranges for half time mate, as much as i like Seamus Doku will just be too quick for him imo..

Really wish Rohl was fit, if we drop KDH back we will be overrun in midfield and bullied. But we need Alcaraz because of his pace and connection with Beto, but he’d be wasted out wide.

Tough decisions for the manager, Garner has to play right back for me, as good as he’s been in midfield, I think that’s where he will end up. He has good defensive instincts and great end product.

Playing anyone other than Beto or Barry upfront is pointless, they’ll just get bullied by whoever City have in defence and none of Alcaraz or Ndiaye are fast enough to play balls over the top to.

I have to say, it is much nicer listening to these pre-match pressers on the drive home with Moyes answering the questions, than it was with the 'Ginger Mourinho'.

Instead of the general smarminess, the self-comparisons to Pep, the limitations he put on his players with his pre-match waffle or the tiresome catchphrases about "changing the story " or "the hard yards". You get Moyes speaking well about the players and instilling trust, backing them (Pickford, Tarkowski and Beto) but never going over board. Commenting on the work that Beto is doing to get better was smart. Aware we have him until January regardless, so it is wise to back the lad, whilst in the background making sure we have a striker come in.

Wouldn't half be funny if Barry started ahead of him on Saturday now though!

I don’t think anyone can doubt Beto’s work rate, it’s the talent that is the issue. He’s frustrating but I like him, no matter how bad things have got, he always gives 100%.

As for the Moyes and Dyche comparisons, while Moyes can be a bit of a loser when it comes to playing away at big teams. He always tries to win home games against anyone.

Dyche went into every game trying to get a point no matter what.

So Lee Dixon said Pickford needs to move to a big club.

A few days ago he said Pickford "barely does enough".

A few weeks ago he said he "should absolutely not be England's number 1"

So why should he move to a big club if he barely does enough? Is he good or bad? Which is it.

Mind you, this is the same fella who said "why is Baines starting for England, he is the present, Shaw is the future", when, not only could Shaw at his best, not lace Baines' boots on Baines' worst day. But what is that logic? You shouldn't play the present because younger players are there? Should Bellingham, Rice and Anderson be excluded from the squad because younger players like Miley are there?

Also the same Lee Dixon who once said, when England conceded a shot on goal due to Gary Cahill backing off "Jagielka has to do better to tell Cahill to put a foot in", as if Gary Cahill isn't a grown man capable of knowing when to tackle?

So the real question is, what's his issue with us? Is it because he's best mates with David "I somehow got lobbed by a free kick" Seaman? Or is it another issue? . Just weird behaviour every time he's on commentary, made an effort to excuse Henderson and Pope's poor games for England by saying "that's football, you can't save every shot", but criticises Pickford for not conceding goals? He's just a strange little man.

1. How do you know they haven’t? By all accounts he’s very settled here and I imagine clubs have asked and his agent has said he doesn’t want to move, so there’s no more talk.
2. You could literally say this about any player who doesn’t play for Real Madrid or Barcelona.
3. Danny Murphy was a good penalty taker and had an amazing 5 yard pass, why does he talk about other players like he was some midfield general.

It’s so boring, people who just don’t watch him so say “well he’s good for England but not Everton”. Then you have the edgy Everton fans who go “he’s overrated” because they called him crap in 2020, so are scared to admit they were wrong.

Only fanbase I see consistently say he’s bad are Newcastle fans and Liverpool fans. What a coincidence.

I hope no club ever does come in for him, aside from Alisson, Donnarumma and Raya, no one in the league is even close to him.

{Ed001's Note - firstly no update, the charges have been heard, but it is all the paperwork which takes the time anyway.

They were already found guilty by UEFA, and failed in numerous appeals, even going as far as CAS, on the majority of the charges (if I remember correctly it was in excess of 60 anyway), so they have broken the rules. The annoyance of the time it is taking is particularly due to them already being known to be guilty of so many that they should have been done separately and quickly. I know Pep and Citeh claim they were not found guilty, but actually they paid fines on a large number of them and served a minor transfer ban, the rest were a case of being time-barred and so they did not get a major punishment.

Without my Liverpool hat on, I would strip them of all their titles and kick them out of the Premier League. I wouldn't give a toss if the EFL refused to take them either, that is their problem. With my Liverpool hat on, I would actually be more lenient, as I want the competition at the top, it would make any title win for anyone else potentially feel hollow if City were booted out of the league. So I would probably impose transfer bans instead.

The issue is that Everton's punishment must be looked at for context, and that means that they have to be deducted points. It is not like it is an isolated case as Forest were also punished, so City have to have some kind of points deduction. Possibly some now and some for previous seasons, which would be enough to see them stripped of the titles would make sense, though I would not want to hand the titles to the teams that came second. Again, it would feel a bit lame to get a title in that way, even if it was fair.}

{Ed001's Note - no, they seem to be looking to tighten up on them. Though it will depend a lot on which clubs get relegated and promoted to the Prem over the next few years. Ones with money to spend, such as Wrexham and Birmingham, will want to loosen the regs up, while others like Brighton want them kept tight so they can remain competitive.}

Interesting read Ed01. Do you see a flurry of court cases against City like the recent Burnley one from teams who were relegated in those years? Think it would be hard to argue they cost those teams money but I’m not a high brow lawyer….

{Ed001's Note - lawyers will see money to be made and advise clubs to go for it, so it is entirely possible. You could have one from every club that finished 2nd to them, as that also cost clubs enormous amounts. It could get very messy and litigious.}
