Rico Lewis getting linked with us from several outlets, RB from City.

Very good player quick and likes to get forward. He would do for me.

06 Jul 2026 16:15:38
George confirmed. Please can we now get a RB?

Moyes for the Scottish job has had some discussion especially around the amount that he would be paid by the Scottish job verses what he is paid at Everton.
Not sure if this is relevant to be honest, if the Everton hierarchy for example are on the fence regarding Moyes and have a suitable replacement lined up they could offer a compensation package for the one year left on Moyes' contract.

Could be a win-win for the club and Moyes.
Would like Lee Carsley myself, but so GB does not have a heart attack, probably will not happen.

All depends who they have lined up, Mike..

Ancelotti?
Fabregas?
The two BN mentioned?
Martinez?
Pep?

I don't know how far up the agenda changing the manager is. I think we will have Moyes for 12 months at least unless it's a disastrous first 4 months. If he has a good season, they will likely offer him another few years.

Stick to my guns. DM signs a few players this window, if it doesn't work out he will be gone by Christmas anyway. Just think he's earned that, only my opinion, lads, we get someone else in, then I will back him.

It's a matter of opinion, GB, if Moyes deserves it. Most of us want Moyes to succeed, but the disastrous ending of the season was not only the players' fault, but due to Moyes refusing to use fringe players, sticking to tactics which repeatedly did not work and bringing on substitutes too late to affect the result. By the way, the football is boring!
If he stays, then he has to improve.

New players will help, but only if he uses them in their best positions and improves his tactics.
The players we have signed so far are young, not what I would have expected if Moyes was recruiting. I believe someone else is pulling the strings. We will find out when we recruit the very needed right-back and striker.

If Moyes was to leave for the Scotland job, the managers I'd be looking at to take Everton forward would be names with genuine top level pedigree.
People like Luciano Spalletti at Juventus, whose tactical control and 4-3-3 structure would instantly modernise the club, Francesco Farioli at Porto, one of Europe's brightest young coaches with a fearless positional play identity, Sebastian Hoeness at Stuttgart, who's already proven he can build a Champions League level side with aggressive full backs and attractive football and Paulo Fonseca at Lyon, a manager whose fluid, attacking style would excite fans from day one, and Albert Riera at Eintracht Frankfurt, a rising tactician whose aggressive, modern style fits perfectly with the direction Everton should be heading.

I'd also be very optimistic and include Julian Nagelsmann, now free after leaving Germany, because his hyper modern tactical approach is exactly the kind of identity shift our club needs, Alvaro Arbeloa, fresh out of Madrid and carrying elite pedigree with a modern, high tempo philosophy and Kieran McKenna, who left Ipswich after proving he can deliver beautiful, structured football at Premier League level.
These are the calibre of managers who could genuinely elevate the club rather than just steady it and if Moyes did go then this is the level of ambition Everton and TFG should be showing.

Great info, Optimum Shots, many thanks.

I still like Roberto Martinez. Guy just needs a good defensive coach.

Martinez had his best season with Moyes' team. Next season ruined it. Appointed Belgium manager and underachieved with possibly a generational group of players that should have won something but he ruined it, and now with one of the most talented group of Portuguese players has failed yet again. When will people realise he's s****

Guys never mind Cristian Kofane you just Moyes will pursue Liam Delap. 😭

06 Jul 2026 11:47:06
Cristian Kofane striker latest to be linked.

06 Jul 2026 12:25:18
How much they saying, GB.

This is the signing we should have made before Barry, mate.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was 10/15m more expensive either.

2

06 Jul 2026 12:25:37
We're going to have a squad of 50 players at this rate. Don't know anything about the lad.

1

06 Jul 2026 12:56:01
Would certainly be an upgrade on what we have. He's not yet 20 and combines the strengths of both the strikers we have. (I use the word strengths in relation to Barry very loosely) . He is also fairly quick and good with both feet.
He's certainly one worth pursuing, but I fear that Leverkusen might price us out of any deal.

06 Jul 2026 13:13:33
Agree, BN. Should've been on the short list last year along with Dju.

1

06 Jul 2026 14:34:15
He would be a real coup mate.

One of the only strikers we have been linked with this window that fills me with a bit of excitement tbh.

£86 million being talked about that's a lot of cash, BN mate.

1

06 Jul 2026 16:06:10
Always makes me laugh when they say Everton linked to a player, then at the end, the price is 89 million. 🤣🤣 Not sure we are in the market for these types of players just yet.
I think we will end up with Delap, he may say he doesn't want to leave, but he doesn't have a future at Chelsea and, by what the papers have been saying, Moyes likes the lad, also thinking outside the box on the right back spot.

Do you think we maybe waiting to see if we can get the City lad Rico on loan, we've had Grealish and he's loved it here, I'm sure if there was a possibility of us being interested he may have spoken to Grealish about what it's like playing for Everton, just a thought seeing we don't seem to be making much head way in a vital area once again.

I am with you, BP, on lack of progress still in RB position. I thought we had made an offer for Bellanova, but it has gone quiet, if indeed we had even made an offer or just paper talk.

1

06 Jul 2026 18:27:42
I think that is just the stupid price that some of these European journos come up with.

He is 19 and hasn't shown anywhere near the type of record to warrant that price.

I think it will be between 38 and 45 million myself if he were to go.

0

06 Jul 2026 18:55:01
Agree BN, a formal bid has gone in apparently, mate.

0

06 Jul 2026 22:44:15
Cheers for the info, GB.

I think a formal bid went in for Bellanova the other day, but no noise on that.

Hopefully it is an official bid we make instead, and we move as fast as we did getting George in after Hackney. Then your post the other day about being our best window for a long time would be very accurate, mate.

Christ Inao Oulai linked.

Had never heard of him before the WC but played well for Ivory Coast and his composure on the ball for a 20 year old was impressive.

Would be very happy if we were serious about this. The lad looks a proper player.

2

05 Jul 2026 16:47:07
Imagine him and Gabriel Jesus. God knows where we'd finish.

3

05 Jul 2026 17:08:33
In Heaven, I reckon, mate. 😂😂

4

05 Jul 2026 18:31:50
He seems a decent player, but I'm always sceptical of signing someone on the back of a few games. Can come back to bite you in the a** majority of the time.

3

05 Jul 2026 18:57:32
Class, Dev!

You aren't wrong, Dentie - Diao and Diouf come to mind.

This lad does look mustard though tbf.

2

06 Jul 2026 00:32:20
A match made in heaven I reckon! ;-)

05 Jul 2026 13:31:30
Lloyd Kelly from Juve on our radar.

1

05 Jul 2026 15:45:42
Seen that too mate.

1

05 Jul 2026 16:48:51
Would be quality cover at CB and LB.

0

05 Jul 2026 19:21:14
Or he could be the next Ben Godffrey!

0

06 Jul 2026 07:43:20
He just signed for Rangers a few days ago.

05 Jul 2026 13:10:34
McNeil to West Ham seems a certain, will wish him all the best he’s been through the mill.

3

05 Jul 2026 13:44:57
If not West Ham, then I'm sure he'll go somewhere.

3

05 Jul 2026 14:11:24
Good luck to him.

3

05 Jul 2026 14:21:59
Wonder if West Ham would be interested in a swap deal..

2

05 Jul 2026 13:09:15
We have a good deal done with George from Chelsea, £18 million up front and around £6 million in add ons, happy with that.

3

05 Jul 2026 14:23:30
Better than the nonsense spent on the likes of Barry or Dibling GB. He will need to play him more often though to see if it was a worthwhile deal.

2

05 Jul 2026 14:29:16
Definitely, mate.

2

05 Jul 2026 17:10:00
You mean like Dibling? Lad got stuck on the wing every now and again, yet people have already made their mind up about him.
Do yourselves a favour, and ask Southampton supporters where his best position is. It might surprise you.
