Alan Shearer’s voice gets on my nerves. Why can’t we just have the commentators and bin these whiny prats?

16 Jun 2026 22:29:23
Was it me but all I had was the 5live commentary on the tv with Pat Nevin. Every BBC channel I tried had the 5 live commentary. Couldn't hear Alan Shearer at all, maybe it was a Sky issue?!?!

You were lucky, Big C.

Sources: Everton line up Lois Openda loan-to-buy deal as Juventus 'offer' made. Just seen this - not sure how much truth is in this rumour, but this name is being mentioned a few times now. Looks a really promising player.

Struggled in Serie A with Juve, but could be hungry to revive his career. Very pacey, so good for counter attacking style of play, good dribbling skills, likes to carry the ball and shoot and is comfortable with both feet. Most of his goals are from open play as well.
Juve want to move him on due to his struggles in Italy.

Loan with option to buy could be some smart business with Openda. Get the player who banged in goals in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga would be a massive upside.
Get the Serie A player and send him back and don't take up the option.
Different profile to Barry and Beto.

Martinez to leave Portugal.

16 Jun 2026 09:47:38
Can you believe it? It appears more and more likely that John Stones may be our Star signing 😁. Good player in the past but hugely injury prone. If his history of injuries was not as chronic at 32 he could maybe have filled a gap and get a younger centre to be mentored by him, but we should be getting someone in their mid twenties and building around then.

Hopefully I despair of my club sometimes. I really do.

2

16 Jun 2026 12:37:03
Was reading he has been injury free for most of the last season.

3

16 Jun 2026 14:42:43
That's what he claimed in a recent interview, GB.

If he stays fit, he could operate at CB, RB or DCM. As long as he stays fit and isn't on silly wages, it could be a decent acquisition.

However, 'if' makes me worry. Big gamble to take on uncertainty.

Plus, should we not be bringing through the next up and coming CB where possible? Didn't we release Welch/Welsh who was well regarded?

If we do sign him, I'm hoping he's not the major signing of the window. We need a fair few to come in yet.

1

16 Jun 2026 14:52:33
That's the crux, mate, he needs to stay fit and take a big dip in pay.

2

16 Jun 2026 15:12:45
He's been injury free because he's been sitting on his arse for most of the season. Absolute joke.

2

16 Jun 2026 16:25:29
He's in the England squad, that's high praise, is that not good enough for you.

3

16 Jun 2026 17:48:40
Not really, no. The guy is 32, coming to the tail end of his career. Playing for England these days means sod all.

2

16 Jun 2026 17:57:01
Tarks is 33, mate, and so is Keane. That's not old for a defender.

2

16 Jun 2026 18:43:37
If he can do the same job as Gana, he may be worth a contract.

1

16 Jun 2026 19:09:54
Definitely Br would be an addition to the team, mate.

1

16 Jun 2026 20:46:43
And we played both of them a season too long, GB. Moyes is turning this team into an old man's club.

0

16 Jun 2026 20:56:58
If buying players because they're in the England squad is good enough, why don't we go for that wee midfielder Henderson, proper age group for dithering Dave.

1

16 Jun 2026 21:12:16
If we sign Stones, then it will split opinion. And for every old player we have signed who's added to the squad, there's plenty who took a wage and made no difference.
This window is make or break for Moyes, in my opinion, as if we don't move forward, he might not get an extension on his deal. I watch on with interest.

0

16 Jun 2026 22:54:48
I guess the attraction is the free transfer, but depends on the wages as well
If he stays fit, I would rather a fit Stones partner Branthwaite and would bring some amazing leadership which we are going to miss with Seamus leaving.

0

17 Jun 2026 00:57:42
On paper, it would be a huge upgrade ST. The issue is, we will have our work cut out getting 1 of them on the pitch at times, let alone both of them at the same time.

1

17 Jun 2026 04:31:04
He will probably have a great World Cup and sign for someone else.

0

17 Jun 2026 19:17:34
Ah Bramley Moor, the home for retired players. I don't think signing Stones displays a lot of ambition. Similar situation with resigning Rooney, thanks for the memories (very brief) , but we are supposed to be a Premier League club.

No issue with Rooney or Stones moving on as that's football. I wouldn't buy a brand new Mercedes, sell it after only 6 months, then buy it back with 200k miles on the clock!

0

16 Jun 2026 07:57:36
John Stones looks like he could be the first singing this window. Lots of lrumours this morning.

3

16 Jun 2026 09:17:55
Be Fellaini next.

2

16 Jun 2026 09:48:19
Would probably take Fellaini.

1

15 Jun 2026 17:55:17
Just signed a 16 year old striker, next will be a signing for the woman's team, then the first team.

1

15 Jun 2026 18:07:53
This is good news as far as I'm concerned. I know he's very thought of in Scotland. Not bothered what order they come in, as long as we have them in for pre season.

6

15 Jun 2026 18:20:00
Excellent news, very highly rated lad.

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - although i like planning for the future GB this seems a bit pointless to me mate in the position we are in, lets be honest with this management set up he will not get a look in for at least 4 years or so and i think we have more pressing needs, i dont want to rain on the lads parade but i think we need to strengthen the first team squad first and put all our efforts there..

2

15 Jun 2026 18:44:10
I'm just saying this is usually the order, youth, women's, then men's first team. Might have to wait a while before seeing any. I see Brighton have signed a rb for 8m, another bargain.

1

15 Jun 2026 19:17:54
I think we are going to have a really good transfer window Ed mate, TFG will know that a good few of our players need upgrading mate, we will do ok

2

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - you always look on the bright side of things GB and thats why i enjoy your posts mate, i think we will have a mixed window myself which i expect to be adequate without being spectacular and im not sure on how this Burnley fiasco will effect our budget..

1

15 Jun 2026 19:43:19
When the outcome was released, it said that any fine would not impact current PSR. Assuming this means the budget will not be affected.

0

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - it not effecting PSR does not mean it wont effect the amount we are able to afford to spend JB..

0

15 Jun 2026 20:01:02
I would be very disappointed if we ended up paying Burnley anything.

1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - so would i mate..

1

15 Jun 2026 20:19:49
Don't mind this. Obviously, we need to buy a good few players for the here and now but trying to pick up bright talents that can become top players (e.g. Stones, Branthwaite) is the only way to compete when our revenue is so far behind the big boys.

Plus, if he's only 16 he'll still be a kid in a couple of years, when Moyes has gone and young players start getting a sniff of the pitch again!

2

15 Jun 2026 20:22:57
Apparently Moyes said on the radio that he has been given assurances that it will have no effect on his transfer spending. What he buys with it is another matter.

1

15 Jun 2026 20:51:24
It's not affecting PSR. It absolutely affects how much we have to spend. TFG will still want to improve the squad. I'm expecting a decent window.

0

16 Jun 2026 23:01:23
I could be wrong, but I am sure I read there was an agreement when buying the club that Moshiri would be liable for any financial sanctions, fines etc due to his dealings, which was a reason they walked initially, but came back once agreed to.
Something along those lines.

0

15 Jun 2026 17:47:34
Advanced talks to re-sign John Stones that should cheer a couple up.

3

15 Jun 2026 18:08:06
You'll be lucky, GB.

1

15 Jun 2026 18:18:39
We all know just how good a player Stones is. The obvious concern is his fitness. I would take him if he's on a sensible contract, and if we were also sensible about how and when we play him, and don't run him into the ground as we have with players in the past.

He doesn't have to play CB as he would also make a really good DM.

3

15 Jun 2026 18:20:57
He's only 32, mate, and called up for England.

3

15 Jun 2026 19:04:35
He may be GB, but he only managed 436 minutes of football last season, mate. The season before that wasn't any better, with 544.

It doesn't matter how good he is if we can't get him on the pitch.

He is currently on 250k a week. No chance he comes to us for anything less than 100/150k, which is a hell of a wage to offer a new signing that is still in his prime years.

2

15 Jun 2026 19:27:28
If he's any good, then why are Manc getting rid of him, bit like us with Shamus Coleman? We know he's done, but Coventry still think they're getting a good player. Stones should never put an Everton shirt on again.

1

15 Jun 2026 19:59:45
Yeah right, I seem to recall Michael Keane and James Tarkowski are both 33, mum bo jumbo, Toffeeloyalist, be a lot of players without shirts in the Premiership.

1

15 Jun 2026 20:03:20
32 is too old. About time the club got its finger out and went and found the next John Stones.

0

15 Jun 2026 20:22:42
I remember when Stones was signed in the Jan window before Moyes left. Moyes was in two minds, and was persuaded to eventually run with it. He then turns out to be the best in Europe, give or take.

We signed him with no real conviction from Moyes, and it was Martinez who gave him game time.
Just another area where I see how far from the mark Moyes can be.

1

15 Jun 2026 22:43:54
In an interview on the TV earlier, he said he's been fit all season.

0

16 Jun 2026 12:18:46
Not saying I want to sign Stones, but not being good enough for Man City and not being good enough for Everton are two very different things at the moment!

1

15 Jun 2026 14:19:17
Reading we have had a bid of £11 million plus £7 million in add on turned down by Middlesborough, they are holding out for £20 million up front and £5 million in add ons, hmmmmm.

1

15 Jun 2026 15:49:22
A long hot summer. Let em sweat.

1

15 Jun 2026 15:53:03
Move on then, if we are going to be scraping the barrel for players under £12m, it looks like we will be in a relegation battle. Stop being so tight, we've got such a small club attitude, it's no wonder we struggle to attract players.

3

15 Jun 2026 19:11:56
How is it a small club attitude to offer £18m for a Championship player, in the last year of his contract, who also, by all accounts, wants to join us?

Why would we offer more than what we think he is worth - that is literally what a small club would do, because they are desperate and scared of missing out.

I am sure that whether we end up in a relegation battle or not will not be determined by a player who has managed 14 goals and 14 assists in 139 Championship games.

1

15 Jun 2026 07:34:46
Alrite ed 025 hope you are well mate just wondering there's few rumours online saying we are going to throw down a 30 mil bid for delap of Chelsea just curious if we actually hold any interest any feedback be much appreciated thank you

1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - we were interested before he moved to Chelsea Andy and i believe we did make a bid but he chose not to come to us, personally i dont rate him and i hope we avoid him like the plague, but he will obviously will be linked mate..

4

15 Jun 2026 11:55:07
I know we've not seen much of him this season, but would we have been happy this time last year if he arrived? I wonder whether a loan with an obligation if he scores a number of goals would be better business? I wouldn't be too disappointed either way. Showed promise at Ipswich, young and has a point to prove.

1

15 Jun 2026 14:42:17
I haven't heard of us putting any bid in, although a lot of rumours about us potentially being interested, but is that just because we were interested last summer?

I have heard that Chelsea are willing to sell him, but want a fee in excess of £40m for him, whether that's true or not, considering the poor season he's had, to value him at that price baffles me.

Personally, I wouldn't want him. He had the option to come to us last season for guaranteed first team football, but opted to sit on the bench for more money.

1

https://www.evertonrumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_ed025-1241569729.png avatar{Ed025's Note - im with you OS..

1

15 Jun 2026 14:10:04
That would work better for us for sure JB.

I am not a fan of the lad tbh mate. I don't mind the old sh**housery behaviour e.g. Vardy but he backs it up with performances and numbers and you can tell he will give his all to the cause. In Delap's case, he just seems like he enjoys acting like a d***head to me mate.

He had an ok season for Ipswich but didn't show bags of ability imo. He was destined to flop at Chelsea.

1

15 Jun 2026 14:55:22
Would rather keep B no1.

1

15 Jun 2026 16:15:37
Wouldn't deal with Chelsea. The club's rotten to the corr, over inflated prices, dodgy dealings. We'd probably get another points deduction.

0

14 Jun 2026 07:39:48
We are supposed to be in talks about a striker Uedo from Feyenoord. Have you any info on this guy, BlueNose? Cheers mate.

2

14 Jun 2026 12:21:09
Good player scored goals in Japan, Belgium and Netherlands, but took 3 seasons before he started returning big numbers in the Netherlands. Worry would be handling the physicality of the Premier League but is definitely better than Barry, although you probably already new that without seeing him play!

3

14 Jun 2026 13:45:19
Sounds a very useful player, mate.

2

14 Jun 2026 17:19:54
Like Rlchris said, GB, he is certainly better than what we have, but I would prefer us to go after other options.

Despite him being under 6ft, he is actually very useful in the air, mate. I don't watch an awful lot of Eredivisie, but have watched him playing for Japan and Feyenoord in Europe.

A lot of the goals he has scored are down to the poor level of the defenders and goalkeepers in that league. He won't get those same types of chances in the PL.

He is a much more natural finisher than the chuckle brothers, though, mate. It will be interesting to see how he does against the Dutch later.

1

15 Jun 2026 08:42:27
Didn't do much for me, but can't judge on one game, I suppose.

1

15 Jun 2026 09:01:50
Few other Japan players I'd rather sign. Shame we couldn't get Kubo through the door last summer.
