Oviedo signs 3 1/ 2yr deal
Good business that.

1.) 12 Feb 2016 15:48:18
Agreed, good player hope he stays fit.

2.) 12 Feb 2016 18:30:07
Good news, playing well at the moment but with baines getting back to full fitness and garbutt back end of season will he get a look in? I prefer garbutt think the future will be bright for him in a everton shirt and when baines is backup to speed he'll be 1st choice and Galloway can also play in the same position if needed? Good squad member but I just don't think he will ever push for a starting position? He's playing well at the moment so I hope he proves me wrong!

3.) 12 Feb 2016 20:11:53
Not sure that he will but I think there is a good chance he will prove you wrong Mg78blue.

Its only my opinion but I think he's better than you give him credit for. He is equally as good at left midfield. When he got a run of games awhile back he was no stranger to scoring goals.

Played right back a couple of times recently. Maybe that's what you mean as a good squad member or maybe you mean as back up to left back.

He's being picked before Baines at the moment. Not sure exactly why he's being picked before Baines. Martinez seems to like Oviedo. Almost everytime Oviedo was available for selection he has played for Martinez.

Compared to say Gibson who also had injury problems had to contend with a place on the bench whenever available. So Martinez does rate him and surprisingly he's only 25 so he probably has his best football to play.

Very good player to have and although Baines still has a couple of seasons imo. Oviedo and Garbutt are the future. I know Galloway can play there but we're told his future is centre back.

4.) 13 Feb 2016 02:42:37
It's good news that Oviedo has extended his contract.
I can't see Hibbert, Gibson, Osman or Pienaar getting extensions when their contracts end this June. Do any of you think they will?

5.) 13 Feb 2016 03:39:17
I'd give Pienaar another year, that interview when he was in tears at the end of his loan spell from spurs showed how much he loved Everton, plus he's a great footballer and if there's no injury concerns don't see why he couldn't play a part.

6.) 13 Feb 2016 09:39:44
Definitely not Hibbert Cowpat. Pienaar yes I'd like to see him getting a one year contract. I'd also like to see Gibson getting 2 or 3 year contract.

Osman maybe a one year contract or a pay as you play contract. Ed025 suggested before Pienaar one year contract, Osman and Gibson pay as you play.

Don't think Gibson would go for that at his age. I'd say some other club would be willing to take him on. I'd like to see Gibson getting a proper run of things. Good player as we all know just needs to stay fit.

7.) 13 Feb 2016 09:51:51
I think osman and hibbo will be given coaching roles with gibbo and peanut released.

8.) 13 Feb 2016 13:34:08
Interesting thoughts about who to retain.
Here's the rub: at the end of the January transfer window we registered a squad of 24 aged-over-21 players.
We omitted 3 players who are out loan for the rest of this season (Garbutt, McGeady and McAleny) .
We also have 4 currently-under-21 players who will have to be registered in the aged-over-21 squad come this summer (Browning, Deulofeu, Pennington and Stones) .
Other youngsters (Galloway, Tarashaj, etc. ) will still be classed as under-21 this summer.
That still makes 31 players. Our registered aged-over-21 squad is limited to a maximum of 25 players of whom no more than 17 can be non-homegrown.
So, come the summer, 6 of our players will have to be omitted - and that's before we transfer in new aged-over-21 players. Bearing that in mind, can we really give contract extensions to Gibson, Osman or Pienaar?

{Ed025's Note - it looks like a no to me sid..

9.) 13 Feb 2016 15:21:50
I knew that's what you were getting at when you posted the question. You like doing the squad list. Nothing wrong with that.

What you are stating ties into what I said a week ago that I was happy with the squad.

We have too many players. That's a good thing imo. There are certain ways around the problem you point out. No one knows until the summer what will happen.

How many players will be let out on loan? How many will be sold? Those 2 questions will have to be taken into consideration. No doubt the squad will adjust accordingly.

You never accountant for Howard supposedly leaving. I'd expect a lot of youngsters to go on loan. Wouldn't be surprised if Garbutt goes out for another year.

Don't think the amount of players we have will be a problem come the summer. Anything can happen with transfers. The reason the squad is full is because who has Martinez sold?

10 Feb 2016 15:01:06
The red echo are reporting that the two yanks were at finch farm last week

Good old Everton rumours gave us that news last week
What will they report next

Echo headline! Everton fans prefer Joel Robles.

6.) 05 Feb 2016 15:55:32
Can't see nothing anywhere about a big announment, even been on talk sport site and Twitter, not doubting you mate just thinking if it was only on talk sport and nowhere else is reporting it then probably nothing to get excited about! Would love to be wrong though.

01 Feb 2016 13:53:52
Don't know what we're going to do now for a new manager next season peps going to citeh.

{Ed025's Note - brendan rodgers is still up for grabs liam.. :)

1.) 01 Feb 2016 14:03:44

2.) 01 Feb 2016 14:16:46
We should go for pellegrini.

3.) 01 Feb 2016 16:15:03
Would love Pellegrini good shout.

4.) 01 Feb 2016 16:15:03
Would love Pellegrini good shout.

5.) 01 Feb 2016 17:15:52
Pellegrini to Chelsea, Marineo to Utd, Martinez given an extended contract at Everton.

6.) 01 Feb 2016 20:00:13
Wouldn't like pellegrini. seems as arrogant as Martinez. Didn't like the way he knocked us after semi-finals. No class. Not the Everton way.

7.) 01 Feb 2016 21:05:26
How was he arrogant? He said Martinez had nothing to complain about with decisions because we got away with a penalty in the first leg. He was right. The problem is we can't defend because Stones thinks he is Zidane and we have nobody at the back to command the defence.

Pelligrini is a class act - clever, understated and plays the right tactics against each team. Basically the total opposite of Martinez on all counts. Would love to have him in our dugout.

01 Feb 2016 13:09:36
Just read an article that says if we sign niasse today then he won't be available til the weekend so he won't be in the squad for Newcastle on Wednesday anyone know the reason why.

I thought if you signed a full 24hrs before then you were eligible.

{Ed025's Note - i though he would be available as well mate..

1.) 01 Feb 2016 14:09:37
Don't really see why he wouldn't be eligible. We don't play until Wednesday.

{Ed025's Note - me neither DM..necastle have just signed a senegslese player today and hes available for wednesday!..

2.) 01 Feb 2016 14:14:25
Apparently they need to have been signed by 12pm today to be available for the fixture. Maybe a good thing because Newcastle signed Doumbia so he shouldn't be available to play against us.

{Ed025's Note - doumbia can play they are saying CT..

3.) 01 Feb 2016 14:21:10
Work permit?

{Ed025's Note - i dont know mate..

4.) 01 Feb 2016 15:03:25
12o'clock is the cut off point the day before.

5.) 01 Feb 2016 15:04:36
ssn mentioned before that deals need to be completed by midday today to be eligible for tomorrow nights games and therefore anyone who plays on Wednesday will have new players available. Hope this helps clarrify things.

6.) 01 Feb 2016 16:15:21
Daily mail still saying he can't play Wednesday they don't say why though.

7.) 01 Feb 2016 16:15:21
Daily mail still saying he can't play Wednesday they don't say why though.

8.) 01 Feb 2016 18:10:18
The deadline was 10 am today for registration and because we play a day later we have to have the same rules as those who play Tuesday.

9.) 01 Feb 2016 18:11:00
Sorry meant 12 not 10 am.

I don't no what to think about all this takeover by Tuesday we've been here to many times before the only thing I know is it's now effecting my eatin patterns I was reading the news this mornin and my stomach flipped put me of me brecky that's how much it's getting to me I hate being in the dark when it comes to Everton.

1.) 27 Feb 2016 11:20:27
For some reason it feels like there's more weight behind these rumours than before, it seems like there's genuine interest this time not just hear say, whether that will end in a takeover who knows but it's going in the right direction.

2.) 27 Feb 2016 12:30:38
Gibbo I hope your rite lad a really do we keep getting are hopes up but like u say mate it's looking promising at the moment finding it hard to switch off from it me though frustrated is the word a think.

3.) 27 Feb 2016 15:32:21
In other news early bird season tickets are on sale in a couple of weeks ;)

20 Feb 2016 17:08:16
Not moaning because a like the lad but cleverly should be battling Barry and McCarthy not keeping Del Boy niasse and mirallas on the bench other than that happy with this line up again let's smash these everton were more than capable of it!

19 Feb 2016 19:23:09
I've just read a little interview there with desperate dan (gosling) talking about the derby goal in the fa cup and I remember it only to fondly must admit I still can't stand him though for a number of reasons the main one he injured me

When he scored I jumped so high I went about 10 rows in front of me I was so badly hurt St. John's ambulance took me from the ground yes that's right St. John's and I think I cried in front of 40.000 people

So my wish for tomorrow is Danny boy gets the same injury I did I know that sounds cruel but how nice would it be to see that lad crying because he ruptured a bollock.

13 Feb 2016 11:05:13
Nbtb are you being serous lad you really think that we should give darron Gibson a player who in the last three years has made 9 starts in ALL competitions 3yr deal he gets 50k a week so that's about 7/ 8 million you would just hand over then not for me he's finished loves the partying to much it's not an accusation it's just common knowledge.

1.) 13 Feb 2016 15:27:42
I am serious Blueliam at least one year contract with option to extend. Too good of player to let go.

How many games has Oviedo made in last 3 years. I know its more than Gibson but his isn't impressive either and he got a contract. I'm delighted Oviedo got one by the way.

Have a job to find a better player than Gibson who is value. Why buy another player when you have a good one already. Save spending money on new player which cancels out your argument with wages.

Look that's my opinion I'm not trying to force it on you. You have your opinion, I have mine.

11 Feb 2016 23:39:31
Martinez speaking about bill being kept on as chairman and speaks of the long term future with bill at the club reading into it it's quite positive on his health hopefully.

{Ed007's Note - Maybe he could be made some kind of honorary chairman, a voice for the club's traditions amongst all the high flyers - health permitting of course. I don't think anyone would grudge him that.}

Ed01 you have been rather bullish in your approach to us when telling us it's the yanks me thinks ed01 is a little worried that the blues will for the first time in 30 yrs be able to outspend the kopites and take our rightful place as the more attractive option on Merseyside I can see it now Liverpool stuck in the Lego box with no more room for expansion while the blue just grow grow and grow how are your palms ed they sweaty yet hahaha were the pride of Merseyside I won't call u ed 01 no more I will call you NORWAY hahahaha see ya later Norway.

{Ed001's Note - why would that worry me? Man Utd and Liverpool spent huge sums over the last couple of years and got nowhere. What would worry me is if you sacked the Spanish Mr Bean. As for the last bit, that is just pathetic, bit like if I called you Welshie as that's where a large portion of your support comes from.}

Got to say I love coming on here but I don't think I have posted for about two weeks it started feeling like anyone who's anyone was ready to have a go at each other ed you know I have been a poster for a few years now but it's hard interacting with some people I don't know if it's just because everyone is becoming disalusioned with the club or if there is something in the air but it's been enough to make me more of a reader than a poster and some of the stuff that our fans post windz me up I get we all have different views but we all want the land of milk and honey so there's no need to turn on eachother

Can I just say a massive well done to speedo mick who has finally reached Bournemouth after five days walking for charity this man is a legend and a gent anyone who follows this fella falls in love with him great man great blue and an inspiration.

{Ed025's Note - well said liam mate, lets hope we show the spirit that speedo mick is portraying..and the best of luck to him mate..

Absolutely right toffee lad I think Martinez has a duty to pick the best team and in doing that he will protect what ever legacy howard has built up at the club it's all in Bobby's hands mate I do however think the light has finally came on (hopefully)
