We were linked with Rachid Ghezzal in January I believe he is now a free agent, anyone know if we still have an interest in him?

{Ed002's Note - He has made it clear he has no interest in moving to Everton.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 19:21:22
Reports today Rachid Ghezzal is in talks with Watford.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 19:49:09
He must really dislike Everton if he's interested in Watford rather than us. Good old rumours eh 🤣.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 10:09:25
Contradicts what he said last year then, I remember reading a report that he wanted to join a team playing in Europe, I am sure Watford aren't in Europe!

15 May 2017 15:45:42
Has anyone else seen the leaked pic of the supposed kit with Sportpesa logo?
I do hope its a red herring and not the actual shirt, it looks a training kit!

{Ed007's Note - efckit

1.) 15 May 2017 16:20:30
seen that it's definitely the training kit.

2.) 15 May 2017 16:21:22
Looks more like a training type shirt that.

3.) 15 May 2017 16:34:09
yes strange because the teaser on the website looks to be a lighter blue.

4.) 15 May 2017 17:43:31
To me it looks like the training top for next year guess we will find out tommorrow for sure.

31 Aug 2016 21:27:55
Ed any chance of Kone last ditch.

{Ed025's Note - not unless macca agreed to go the other way wakka, moyes is playing hard ball mate..

1.) 31 Aug 2016 21:36:43
And I used to like the bloke ed.

{Ed025's Note - i never did wakka...his eyes are too close together.. :)

18 Jun 2016 16:16:36
Ok all the Rom Knockers from the last few days please continue .
oh he's worth £65m again!

1.) 18 Jun 2016 18:58:47
Regardless of what price is placed on his head, the disrespect he has shown the club is what people are having a go at. If he kept his and his dadays and agents opinions of were he should be playing and spoke in private, a bit like how we did with Koeman then maybe it would be a different story. I for one can't see him being an Everton player next season and by going public the way he did to get the fans to turn against him is how he is anchoring his move away. And whatever price we set if it ain't met let him stew in the reserves. We need to stand our ground and not be forced into a sale of were he wants. PSG maybe, well that's a very competitive league he will be playing in won't it? He's choosing the easy way into Champions League footy going there. As I've said in an earlier post I would rather see the back of him then Stones.

2.) 18 Jun 2016 19:39:12
It doesn't really matter how many goals he gets it's him who wants the move says he wants champion league football with Chelsea or United? That's funny because he won't get it with either of them.

3.) 18 Jun 2016 20:49:52
Totally agree bluegray87. The disrespect is awful. I just hope he gets loads of goals. Every goal his price will go up.

If he chooses to stay all well and good but the indications are he's going. Could of been more professional about it. Totally agree about Stones too. He may want away just as much as Lukaku but has the decency to keep it to himself.

If I had to choose who to keep, it would be Stones all day long. Defender like him comes along every blue moon. We need a striker with or without Lukaku. If he leaves I suspect two will be signed which would be good for competition.

4.) 19 Jun 2016 01:32:16
Sorry guys i have 2 disagree. Granted he shouldn't be saying the stuff he's said. However in his defence he is still young and has ambitions to play at the top level, and if keoman can get rom to stay and channel that ambition in a better way ie performances on the pitch then he would become vital to our future. let's be honest after the last couple seasons he's probably become just as disillusioned as the rest of us. Even if he did go and for arguments sake we got 60+ mil could we attract a player with the goal return of rom? Possably but it would be difficult. I hope that rom ends up staying but not for the money or the fact nobody signs him but that he can be persuaded to want 2 stay.

5.) 20 Jun 2016 13:50:23
People forget that stones put a transfer request in and when it was knocked back he got his head down and got on with the job. Even if Rom says he wants to go to this club or his dad what's to live in the south of France or his agent wants £5m for himself do want we did with stones say sorry rom/ dad/ agent you got x amount of years left we will keep you for let's say 1 more year at least shut your mouth and score goals.

14 Feb 2016 16:28:06
Roberto Martinez insists Everton "could not have done more" to beat West Brom after their 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park on Saturday.
statements like that is what really annoys me!

1.) 14 Feb 2016 18:25:49
Could of made better subs. Who might of done more.

2.) 18 Feb 2016 07:55:04
Could have got more than 6 from 34 shots on target.

As RK is the main topic and IMHO nothing will happen this side of the new year. If then we are still in trouble and his position is untenable then the board will have to act.
The likelihood at that point is a temporary appointment will be made to rescue the situation, an available manager or an internal appointment giving the board time to look for a replacement in the long term.
I do not believe BK or FM will make any decision rashly especially given the vote of confidence (although this is often the kiss of death) as RK was always their No 1 choice a year or so ago.

1.) 03 Oct 2017 20:49:36
If it is to be that RK goes, then I believe we must look for a manager with European experience. If that’s where we want to be each season, then that is where we should be looking. I wonder if the board will wait until teams start dropping out of Europe and see who becomes available. Some good names mentioned in Howe and Dyche, but they lack the European experience and, would players come and play for them? Benitez is an interesting suggestion, but would the fans accept him? Personally, I hope RK can turn it round. I also think that some players need to ask themselves “do I feel proud and privileged to wear this shirt”.

{Ed025's Note - after calling us a "small club" i dont think rafa is an option nick, but its all very premature to be honest as i think koeman will be in charge for a while yet mate..

28 Sep 2017 22:09:31
Ok before the doomongers have there posts we were a little unlucky and should have wrapped this game up long before their equaliser!
Most obvious was that the introduction of pace in Vlasic and DCL changed things and caused problems! Defenders hate pace and I cannot understand why RK will not realise this!
I thought Rooney put a shift in and was at the heart of a lot of good moves.
The youngsters were ok but Holgate cost another goal but he needs to learn and be more switched on defensively. We all wanted Kenny to start but was slightly disappointing in his final ball.
Contrary to other comments Davis offers a lot going forward and thought although he ran down a few blind alleys he was creative unlike other midfielders!
We will still keep leaking soft goals and until we can score more than we concede we are going to struggle, at times second half we looked more confident but again a soft goal cost us!

{Ed025's Note - i dont know what game you were watching wakka, rooney messes the whole system for me mate he is more of a hinderence than a help and tom was the worst player on any pitch tonight, he can be good but not tonight im afraid..

1.) 28 Sep 2017 22:22:13
Problem is Ed too many 10’s but for me he did ok, Davis at least carried the ball where others did nothing but sideways passing, until vlasic came on we looked shot shy and stale and had no pace to cause their defence problems I think Sandro should have come off earlier.
We looked one paced predictable and cautious in the first half but much better second half!

{Ed025's Note - we will have to agree to disagree on tom tonight wakka, i love the guy but tonight was not his night for me mate..

18 Sep 2017 09:37:06
Four home games coming up, let's see what happens and then we can judge better as to how we are progressing. RK has stated in his interview yesterday he thinks the team should finish same position as last season 7th. There is a lot of work to be done now to achieve that.
Let hope tactics change and we become more attacking and balanced in our approach, we have pace but are not using it, the over defensive system has not worked!
Round pegs in square holes how it seems at times, I know the list of players was drawn up well in advance of the season, we knew Rom was going yet nothing materialised in the form of a replacement, Barkley wanted to go, yet we bought three number tens in Rooney, Klassen and Sigurdsson! and are now trying to fit them all in.
We need a good shake up, results will improve confidence so this week a win is a MUST!

{Ed025's Note - im not giving up on koeman just yet wakka, we all knew with that many new faces it would take time, im with you that the lack of pace needs addressing and cant understand why lookman is not getting a shot mate..

1.) 18 Sep 2017 10:03:29
I agree Ed025 not sure why he isn't at least brought on to add pace, I like the look of the lad Vlascic as well seems confident on the ball and willing to take on defenders.
RK has to be given time, it is a work in progress and it has been an unusually tough start in the teams we have played so far.

17 Sep 2017 17:58:55
Gotta say I now watch our games with fear! Although that score flattered we never came today to win a game only to stifle and nick a point! Never a penalty for me! But that overshadows the fact that we do not look like we have a goal in us!
Most disappointing team I have seen in years given the money spent.
One paced, no cutting edge and predictable and to cap it all too many suicidal errors at the back!
I'm not sure how RK is going to change things around admittedly we have a run of winnable games coming up to change things!

1.) 17 Sep 2017 18:37:31
How many seasons have we played with individual errors at the back costing us ganes and points? I can think of 3-4 in the last 5-6 seasons. Our defence is a major concern but more worrying is our inability to score. I think we've scored 2 goals in league and Rooney has both.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 19:03:25
Agreed and Rooney was the player in a position to score today!

24 Aug 2017 22:13:18
A new striker is looking a must, we need Rooney back in the No 10 role!
Plus a wide man with quality, tonight a good result but like Monday we are good at hanging in but not enough to take the game to the opposition, one week left here's hoping!

{Ed025's Note - bolasie is still to come back which will help wakka, but your right about needing a top forward mate..

1.) 24 Aug 2017 23:01:03
Yeh bolasie will be like a new signing but we need a line leader!

Totally agree Ed025 what is so frustrating is that a huge spend in the last window has not improved us over our normal lower key cautious purchases!

{Ed025's Note - its the low key performances rater than purchases that is my big concern wakka mate..

I can't disagree with the posts above, If you look at arsenal last night losing at HT and Wenger changes from back 4 to 3, reactive tactics that worked. Atalanta are no Milan, but they had pace and a big man up front that held the ball up and ran at defenders!
Vlasic looks useful but we keep playing back 4 with 2 holding and it is NOT working, he must find the right blend and quickly! Personally I feel Sniederlein is well off the pace and possibly needs leaving out of a couple of games with a more attacking player coming in.
At this moment we are devoid of any confidence no a good frame of mind going to old Trafford this weekend!

{Ed025's Note - all eyes will be on us sunday wakka and i believe it will tell us a lot about where we are, if we get a good hiding then people will rightly be asking questions about the direction we are going in, its a very worrying time for us at the moment mate..

I to remember that game talk about lows and highs! But today Managers do not have the luxury of time, they live and die on a clubs success, which is why the top teams buy top players and look for instant results! I am happy we develop youngsters but as good a window as we had I'm sure RK is disappointed not to have bought in a new number 9, and money would have had nothing to do with it!

Sounds a really simple suggestion but I would swap Niasse for Grosiki at Hull I rate him and think he gives natural width and quality service we don't get from Mirallas and Lennon! Hull i'm sure would wand Niasse back?

When clubs are paying £50m for full backs is it really that much out of sink with the crazy market that is the premier league? He is a top performing midfielder with some of the best stats around, I can understand why Swansea are standing firm, no different than we did with Lukaku or stones or are currently doing with Barkley.!

Unsworth is doing a great job with the U23's, its becoming a great development centre for young talent, if he takes over the first team, crashes and burns we have lost a great servant, he does not have the experience at this time and will need to develop elsewhere first.
Even experienced managers are struggling here, most were really excited at the prospect of Koeman, it also shows that the extra money does not always add success straight away!

Woburn he will get the money at any club, but he will want to work with the top clubs at his age.

That's a long way in the past, 1995 last trophy 22 years ago, the premier league has changed a lot and so has the pressure on clubs, players and managers.
I would not want to see Big Dunc or Unsy fall from grace in a managerial role they are not ready for, I would think Alan Stubbs is more qualified if you went down this route, U23's to senior level is a massive step!

Why would he join a struggling side with no centre forward and sliding quickly out of Europe? He is used to working at champs league level!
