interesting rumour doing the rounds, According to Calcio Mercato, Everton snubbed a swap proposal from Inter Milan on deadline day, which involved Morgan Schneiderlin and Marcelo Brozovic.

1.) 01 Feb 2018 08:49:51
I'd have taken that all day long.

2.) 01 Feb 2018 15:49:21

3.) 01 Feb 2018 20:14:41
Unless he's the Croatian Schneiderlin.

Find it hard to take some posters snide comments on here although I understand it's a banter site.
Firstly it appears Big Sam is our new permanent manager, that if it true is done!
Hopefully he's the right man to turn our season, however it won't happen overnight.
Let's hope in January Walsh does what he's paid to do and brings some quality fresh talent into the squad!

We had little options available and they've turned to a specialist in reversing our current position.
He has spoken respectfully of the club and it's history and supporters I for one will be right behind him as he is our hope, I understand many peoples resentment and he like many has made a mistake but we all deserve a second chance, it was very costly for him!

We need a win tonight to lift everyone at this great club!

1.) 30 Nov 2017 12:20:50
Good shout mate, we have to live and let live, just get so fed up with some of these snide posts on here mate same as you, i will get behind whoever wants to help our Great Club, end of.

2.) 01 Dec 2017 18:54:32
In my opinion he no more made a mistake than many of us would. If someone approached me while under contract it does not necessarily mean I would not listen to them as indeed he did. Also I would point out I could perhaps be interested in the future but that I and you would have to discuss with my present employers again which is exactly what Sam did and said. It is only the hysteria perpetuated by the media in this Country that fans the fire.

20 Jul 2017 17:56:10
We were linked with Rachid Ghezzal in January I believe he is now a free agent, anyone know if we still have an interest in him?

{Ed002's Note - He has made it clear he has no interest in moving to Everton.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 19:21:22
Reports today Rachid Ghezzal is in talks with Watford.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 19:49:09
He must really dislike Everton if he's interested in Watford rather than us. Good old rumours eh 🤣.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 10:09:25
Contradicts what he said last year then, I remember reading a report that he wanted to join a team playing in Europe, I am sure Watford aren't in Europe!

15 May 2017 15:45:42
Has anyone else seen the leaked pic of the supposed kit with Sportpesa logo?
I do hope its a red herring and not the actual shirt, it looks a training kit!

{Ed007's Note - efckit

1.) 15 May 2017 16:20:30
seen that it's definitely the training kit.

2.) 15 May 2017 16:21:22
Looks more like a training type shirt that.

3.) 15 May 2017 16:34:09
yes strange because the teaser on the website looks to be a lighter blue.

4.) 15 May 2017 17:43:31
To me it looks like the training top for next year guess we will find out tommorrow for sure.

31 Aug 2016 21:27:55
Ed any chance of Kone last ditch.

{Ed025's Note - not unless macca agreed to go the other way wakka, moyes is playing hard ball mate..

1.) 31 Aug 2016 21:36:43
And I used to like the bloke ed.

{Ed025's Note - i never did wakka...his eyes are too close together.. :)

Palace home this week, personally I would love to see a change of tactics, this has to be a win nothing else will do, so why not 4-4-2

Coleman Jags Mangala Garbutt
Walcott Gueye Siggy Bolasie
Tosun DCL

Let the defenders defend and push for a more attacking style of play, press higher up the pitch and not sit deep inviting teams on to us.

1.) 05 Feb 2018 09:21:58
I don't think that changing the formation again will fix this (although as professionals they should be able to adapt) so I would go back towards the Leicester game.

Coleman Keane Jagielka Garbutt
Davies Gueye
Walcott Rooney Bolasie

2.) 05 Feb 2018 09:31:06
palace could completely overrun us if we play 4 in midfield considering the quality of attacking players they have, i'd rather see a 451 with schniederlin playing as the anchor and letting gueye run free alongside with him, siggurson in the center and bolasie and wallcot down the wings with tosun playing as a striker.

or play rooney alongside gueye and try him out as a deep lying play maker and play walcott down the middle, it would work like

Coleman Keane Jagielka Garbutt
rooney gueye
bolasie siggurdson calvert lewin

{Ed025's Note - you say schneiderlin playing as the anchor yet dont put him in the side?, i dont know if this a mistake as he should be nowhere near the side mate..

3.) 05 Feb 2018 09:31:13

4.) 05 Feb 2018 09:42:48
oh no ed, i gave two different sides, the first goes like
Coleman Keane Jagielka Garbutt
schniederlin gueye
bolasie siggurdson walcott

5.) 05 Feb 2018 09:42:55
sorry for the confusion!

6.) 05 Feb 2018 09:41:59
The trouble with this formation is we sit to deep the defenders rely on the defensive midfielders to much and we invite the opposition on to us. It didn't work for Martinez or Koeman and it has not worked this season. Perhaps our players cannot adapt to it?

7.) 05 Feb 2018 09:45:07
the lad has undeniable quality, who else would you play in that role? i think most of these players need the team to be playing well to play well themselves, we've lacked cohesion all season, for whatever reason i still want to ease davies into the starting 11,it might do more harm than good honestly.

8.) 05 Feb 2018 09:46:08
no our problem is that we've negated the midfield too much, at arsenal we basically parked the bus instead of opting to stifle their midfielde which is where their attacks come from in the first place, it was quite stupid because of the pace and quality they had.

9.) 05 Feb 2018 09:46:29
and it worked quite well for koeman in his first season didn't it?

10.) 05 Feb 2018 09:55:28
I think we all need to forget about Garbutt now, everyone keeps putting him in their starting XI, me included.
I think it’s safe to say he is not going to play there must be a reason for this which the club are not saying. I can’t believe any media aren’t asking these questions when we have the prematch news conference.

11.) 05 Feb 2018 10:18:34
with the 442 or like Man City who play 433 you defend from the front, strikers shut down CB's and wingers shut off the full backs, you push the back line higher up the pitch. The problem when we play the 4231 is we sit to deep and seem not to know who we are marking when it gets crowded out. Arsenals short quick passing tore us apart and no one seemed to know who they were picking up!
Watch Man City when the play 433 and see how the press the game much higher up the pitch, yet their only defensive midfielder is Fernandinho.

12.) 05 Feb 2018 11:13:09
do we have the personell to do that though? tosun (with all due respect to the turkish league) is probably not capable of that in this league, and calvert lewin has a tendency to drift off wide which just opens up space for palace.

13.) 05 Feb 2018 11:14:18
you could also make the case for us starting to play like barcelona if you compared other teams but we simply do not have the personell for a higher press so we need to keep things compact yet fluid as possible.

14.) 05 Feb 2018 11:21:12
how dare you use common sense haha i would be over the moon with that 11 mate.

15.) 05 Feb 2018 12:15:08
I would personally like to see
coleman keane mangala garbutt
davies rooney
walcottt tosun Sigurdsson

we played this formation against west ham Huddersfield nufc and Liverpool away, then switched it up and got worse.

16.) 05 Feb 2018 18:11:51
gueye is just as crap as schniederlin at the moment 2 defensive midfielders that are afraid to throw a tackle in and offer nothink going forward arsenals midfield walked right past them without either of them getting to them or throwing a challenge in its horrendous they offer no protection for the back four or offer anything going forward apart from a pass to the back or side chelsea have the same problem playing kante and bakayoko we are not going to win anythink playing either of them in midfield don't get me wrong gueye is good he's a good tackler when he plays well but he can't play football he's the type of player you bring on as a sub when your winning 2-1 with 10 minutes to go.

17.) 05 Feb 2018 20:40:36
He's an anchor alright. Round our necks.
And technically speaking, we have to have a formation for us to be able to change it.

03 Feb 2018 20:37:22
Maybe it's time for a board representative to come out and talk to the fans about what's going on at the club and why so many poor descisions are being made?

1.) 03 Feb 2018 21:02:37
Nah they want because apparently we hurt their feelings 😂.

2.) 03 Feb 2018 22:06:43
I just can’t be doing with a blame culture swan, we need a resolution to the hole we are in!
This club is going through the turmoil of mismanagement and a poor recruitment policy! Whoever is calling the shots has to stand up and take some responsibility, we are becoming the laughing stock of the premier league!
Big club? If it is it needs big descisions!

3.) 03 Feb 2018 22:22:52
We need to get rid of Walsh for starters and get back to the old way, too many chiefs and neither have a clue, we need to start at the top and have a clear out, that is where the biggest problem is.

4.) 03 Feb 2018 23:07:27
With you every step of the way Baz.

03 Feb 2018 17:52:11
20mins absolutely shocking! not just the score but the manor of our play, no leadership no cohesion, let's see what plan B is Sam? don't leave it to late!

1.) 03 Feb 2018 18:14:00
Plan B?
He hasn't got a plan A!

31 Jan 2018 09:38:21
Get a real feeling this is going to be a quiet day, it appears other than Mangala in on loan most of the other business will be players going out on loan.
Let's not forget it's an important match tonight!

1.) 31 Jan 2018 10:15:54
Worse than Williams. Just what does Mr Walsh do?

2.) 31 Jan 2018 11:51:02
left footed and played well for Valencia last year, don't see the issue with him coming in can hopefully cement a place on the left side in the centre making us have a consistent back four with two left footed players and two right footed players (balance)

3.) 31 Jan 2018 13:19:04
Wblue you are of course correct. I was going to correct my original comment but you did it for me chrs.

4.) 31 Jan 2018 13:11:36
Look we all agree a new DOF is really the way forward. But just stating over and over "what's Walsh for? " Is getting a bit tedious to the rest of us that have to read this drivvle.

You can't even be sure who he has or hasn't signed for us. I'm sure his skills are and always were in delivering top transfer targets.

Wait. to the finish line to judge if spending over £50 mil in this window is satisfactory.

29 Jan 2018 16:48:46
28 October 1978 Derby atmosphere at its best!

1.) 29 Jan 2018 22:47:13
Grumpy was asking about who we are as a club the other day. Playing wise, this match is the perfect example of the style I was talking about.

And Grumpy said it perfectly about our fans. Sometimes I can forget Grumpy. You were right.

You can have a list as long as your arm but If they are not available, ie clubs will not sell you cannot just buy them!

Whilst I would prefer a more attacking policy we must be careful of Leicester catching us on the counter with their pace, they have beaten better sides than us using this tactic.

When has Alladyce ever had the opportunity at a club of this stature, for God’s sake give the man a chance he’s having to make do with 2 years worth of poor purchases!

If Sam has worries over his fitness and adaptability to the premier league then it is difficult to afford him the starts and game time at this point of the season. However at 3-0 up on Saturday surely that was the time to bring him into the game and give him a run out, also the crowd were buoyant so a perfect time to get even 15 - 20 minutes in a winning team?

At 3-0 up why wasn’t Tosun given valuable game time or even Klassen just get a real feeling that they are just going to sit rot through non involvement?
If football is now the business we are told it is why are people not being bought to task for poor investmentments?

NBTB I do not think anyone thinks he is a fool, but like the players he needs to learn not only from his mistakes but from his successes!
But I believe the jury is still out for most Evertonians, SA needs to wind back the arrogance and show more humility to both fans and opponents!
