Mirallas off to Olympiakos. His departure has been a long time coming.

CToffee

1.) 06 Jan 2018 20:43:45
How much is the transfer fee?

2.) 06 Jan 2018 20:53:51
Apparently 4 million or thereabout.

With the search for a new manager underway would any of the Ed’s be able to provide some insight into how clubs would typically go about this process?

CToffee

{Ed002's Note - Clubs will often seek advice from third parties, sometimes they advertise and they will eventually turn up with a shortlist. The next move would be to approach the agents of the people they are keen on, and if employed, their clubs. If allowed by the clubs concerned, they will be given permission to talk with the person concerned.}

1.) 24 Oct 2017 12:35:47
Ed 002. I’m not a betting man so don’t care much for what the odds say. So would you know if Thomas Tuchel is a realistic target or is he in all probability going to BM shortly.

{Ed002's Note - No I would not see him as a realistic target and he has no agreement with BM.

2.) 24 Oct 2017 13:35:38
Sky sports are reporting he’s open to the Everton job.

3.) 24 Oct 2017 13:58:48
Thanks Ed 002.

4.) 24 Oct 2017 15:03:18
Good insight into how it's done ED002

Thank you.

5.) 24 Oct 2017 15:44:49
Thanks Ed. Appreciate the insight (as always) .

Do any of the eds have any information on potential out goings from the club?

I know the squad has been trimmed down a lot with a lot of squad players leaving (e. g. Cleverly, Kone, Gibson, Oviedo, Geri) but I was wondering where all these new faces would fit in.

CToffee

{Ed002's Note - I still expect Lukaku and, as long as he is not priced out of a move, Barkley to leave.}

1.) 05 Jul 2017 09:50:09
What do you think is a fair price for Barkley Ed.

{Ed002's Note - I really have no interest in discussing moiney as it is not simply the transfer fee Murf.}

2.) 05 Jul 2017 09:53:27
ok Ed no probs.

3.) 05 Jul 2017 11:47:32
McCarthy, besic? Lennon?

4.) 05 Jul 2017 11:00:10
Thanks ed. I've basically been working on the assumption that Lukaku leaving is a matter of when and not if and that Barkley is likely to leave.

{Ed002's Note - I think so CT.}

5.) 05 Jul 2017 12:03:37
None of the unwanted players are going to leave until Moyes has a new job, let's all wish him a speedy return to club football.

{Ed025's Note - love it smit..

14 Jun 2017 21:37:40
I know we had been linked with William Jose in the past. Do any of the Eds know if we are still interested or if that interest has gone quiet following the move for Sandro?

CToffee

{Ed002's Note - It appears to have gone.}

1.) 15 Jun 2017 07:25:30
Thanks Ed.

14 Mar 2017 17:28:44
A number of reports now saying Lukaku won't be signing a new contract. Disappointing and something of the Everton of old about it if true.

CToffee

{Ed025's Note - reports can be misleading CT, we are still in talks but raiola is playing hardball and will be asking for plenty of dosh plus a release clause no doubt, great if he signs and a massive windfall if he wants out and im afraid thats modern day football mate..

1.) 14 Mar 2017 17:43:19
Yeah I hear you Ed. It's a bitter pill to swallow. If he does go though I for one won't begrudge him that. One of the best players I have seen in a blue shirt in my life time.

He also seems to want to leave because his ambitions currently don't match what the club are able to offer (i. e. Champions league) .

He is going to be incredibly difficult to replace though.

{Ed025's Note - he certainly will CT but if he goes then we move on mate..

2.) 14 Mar 2017 17:50:47
I'm sure we will Ed. Must say I'm gutted.

3.) 14 Mar 2017 17:56:49
No 1 is bigger than the club, if he don't won't to be here, then best get rid and take as much as we can get.!

{Ed025's Note - i will have that shaun mate..

4.) 14 Mar 2017 18:29:52
Be gutted if he leaves. However, our recent transfers have been really good so i'm sure rk and walsh have already planned for life without him.

5.) 14 Mar 2017 19:12:20
Niasse could do a job given the way he's played for Hull. Not a 25 goal replacement but he's got 10 more games to prove us all that he has the potential for 15 or so a season.

{Ed025's Note - i wish that was true windsor, unfortunately he is a lemon mate and we will all have to realize that..

6.) 14 Mar 2017 19:20:19
I know Ed, clutching at straws! If SW had signed him there'd probably be a player hiding in there somewhere, but given that Martinez bought him I very much doubt it.

If we keep progressing this season and can make a dent in the top six, I think we'll be an attractive option for some decent strikers. Even if it's just a loan initially for someone like Martial I'd be happy, because if they get goals and we start bothering the top 4 it will be another step in the right direction.

{Ed025's Note - the direction the club is going we will entice decent players windsor, we can now afford to go the extra mile on the wages front and that will make all the difference mate..

7.) 15 Mar 2017 00:17:37
He has been saying he wants out for last while. The grass is not always greener just ask peanuts. A very good player but not one of the all time greats imo ctoffee. Get 70-80 m and move on .

8.) 15 Mar 2017 00:46:54
Get ienhacho in from city as a class young replacement he isn't getting any game time there.

9.) 15 Mar 2017 01:50:05
I think we should all keep an open mind on this one, he still has two years to run on his contract so a lot can happen in this time.
I do believe that if he stays we can get into the champions league next year then he will want to stay longer.
More concerned about Barclay who has only one year to go in his contract and that is not very long to sort a new one out or we could lose him for nothing.

How is everyone feeling about the championship next year?

CToffee

1.) 26 Nov 2017 17:06:24
Well Cardiff, Villa, Wolves, Reading, Bristol City all not far from me. Just need the "AA Guide To Championship Grounds" for xmas. hope not.

22 Nov 2017 22:26:46
Ah Everton hey? What does it all mean? Where is it all going?

CToffee

1.) 23 Nov 2017 11:01:12
it's all going down the pan mate.

2.) 23 Nov 2017 15:29:26
Confused, not sure who is in charge on the board get the feeling BK wants money to be invested but still wants to run his club. Also what is Walsh doing and what is his influence, seems to have pushed for shakespeare and Allydyce. old boy network.

21 Aug 2017 23:03:16
So I unfortunately didn't get to watch the game. Were we good value for the draw?

CToffee

27 Jul 2017 09:06:58
I was wondering if any of the Eds could please give us an update on Evertons striker targets (or if this even a priority at the moment) ?

I know we had previously been linked with the likes of Giroud and Benteke but based on recent comments by the managers of those respective clubs those players moving don't look likely.

CToffee

{Ed025's Note - the striker position is very important CT and i believe giroud is still the main target, other names are being bandied about but really only walsh and koeman know who they are so just throwing names out there is pointless mate..

1.) 27 Jul 2017 17:25:56
Thanks Ed. Much appreciated as always.

17 Jul 2017 18:07:59
Has Cuco Martina signed? I read somewhere he is in the squad for the preseason training camp in the Netherlands.

CToffee

{Ed025's Note - yes he has CT..

1.) 17 Jul 2017 20:16:23
Thanks Ed. Did the club confirm the deal and have I just been half asleep the past few days?

{Ed025's Note - it was only this afternoon mate..

2.) 18 Jul 2017 12:37:53
Thanks Ed. I'm clearly behind the times lately.

He clearly decided before the game we weren’t getting anything out of it so he fielded a largely second string eleven. He then tried to park the bus. I also loved how he spent the week telling us that Arsenal can’t defend and then decides to not test their defense at all but rather just allowed them to have an attack vs defense training session.

Clearly the guy is a tactical genius.

Seville supposedly have an option to buy Sandro in the summer for €9 million. Surely that’s terrible business on Everton’s part?

Ed25 I saw you mentioned Aleix Vidal being offered around. I thought he was a RB though so that surely wouldn’t do much to help our LB problem (although it would be very Everton to buy another RB right now. It’s the number 10 scenario all over again) .

CToffee

{Ed025's Note - thats right CT, he was the only defender with strong links to us along with the charlton kid who is a CH, there seems a lack of left backs at the moment so it wont be easy to solve the position which is our biggest problem mate..

Why are clubs suddenly keen on Evans? From what I’ve seen he’s pretty average (at best) .

I think it’s a good point GB but to me the bigger issue is leadership, the structures in place at the club and how the club is looking to progress and, in doing so, getting the best out of these players.

It’s all well and good having a good core of young players but if there is no clear plan within the club hierarchy (board, DoF, manager) about what they are trying to achieve in the long term, how best to achieve that and everyone working towards those aims then we will unfortunately see most of these players stagnate at Everton and eventually move on to other clubs.

It seems there is a chronic whiff of short term thinking at the club at the moment which only does more harm in the long run (and in the here and now if this season is anything to go by) .

I think you may be in denial mate. Have you watched us play. It’s shambolic from start to finish and only seems to be getting worse.

I don't know why (and I certainly wouldn't want him back) but I have a feeling he may do well with West Ham. They have the kinds of players to play his lump it forward style.
