I sill want our present manager to carry on at least for another couple of windows, what he has done in so short a time with many average at best players has been remarkable, we sit in 9 th place and would take that all day long with the players we have at present, it's obvious we need new players and they will come in but this takes time, how he has managed this is amazing.
25 Feb 2026 14:06:23
It's a difficult one, GB, but I'm inclined to agree. I appreciate some of his selection choices have raised doubts, and our performances have been poor, but as you've pointed out, we're 9th! And we need some stability. I've seen so many posts about style of play, etc., and needing a new manager, especially since the defeat on Monday, and I can't help thinking to myself that these are probably all the same things West Ham fans said, after Moyes won them a European trophy, and look at how that's turned out for them.
25 Feb 2026 16:13:29
I've been fighting Moyes' corner all season, and I agree that you can't ignore the relative success in steering us to 9th at this stage in the season. If we carry on playing as we have been the last few games, though, more and more fans will turn.
We offer very little attacking threat, and some of the tactics are very negative, until it's too late. We're in a decent position. Why not go for it and push on to try and sneak Europe.
25 Feb 2026 16:35:31
Some of our players aren't good enough, JB. Hopefully another clear out in the summer.
25 Feb 2026 17:49:30
Hard to know if the players are not good enough when he never plays them. Tactics are poor (and that's being nice) . Team selections, at times, have been baffling, and his obsession with playing certain players is questionable.
I agree he has done the job he was brought in to do, but he is not going to take this team forward. End of the season, thank him and move on.
25 Feb 2026 18:36:06
I'm in the 'more time' boat, but it's slowly listing onto its side as it is unbalanced If it isn't sorted, I can see myself jumping ship next season.
{Ed025's Note - i really wanted captain Moyes to steer this ship into calm waters BR, but there is an iceberg just off the starboard bow mate and i feel he is listing towards it unfortunately, i think it will take a titanic effort for him to keep us afloat.. :)
25 Feb 2026 18:44:17
I hope TFG are quietly looking and making enquiries in the background, as this clown Moyes needs to go. For me, last month would have been a month too late. I cannot believe, for the life of me, why anyone should want him to have more transfer windows. I wouldn't give him 50 pence, let alone £50M.
25 Feb 2026 18:47:15
The new players we need will change the team dramatically. Even one new striker would be massive, and a couple at the back wouldn't go amiss either.
25 Feb 2026 19:30:20
All about opinions, Nick.
26 Feb 2026 07:47:05
We could buy Haaland, but if we continued with our tactic of just hoofing it up the pitch towards a lone striker, he wouldn't score either.
25 Feb 2026 12:08:58
Moyes saved us from relegation, and I truly thank him.
TFG, saved us from financial ruin, and I truly thank them
But football clubs are not frozen in time, you either go forward and progress, or slowly sink back into the abyss.
To go forward, Moyes must take honourable retirement, and TFG, must commit to funding that returns Everton to footballs top table, that or sell to an owner willing and able to do so.
25 Feb 2026 13:37:52
They've only been in charge about 14 months.
25 Feb 2026 13:42:23
Are you having a laugh, Always Blues? Strewth.
25 Feb 2026 17:04:02
Moyes is a safe pair of hands. We won't get relegated with him, but be assured we'll never move forward with him. He has to be praised for working wonders with most of these mediocre players, but myself, I'd prefer a more adventurous manager, and one who gives youth a chance. Only my opinion, mind ya, everyone else's is just as valid as mine.
{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way BB..
25 Feb 2026 18:24:19
From Moyes's facial expressions, you can see that he is really livid about the results and the performances of certain players. He knows them, after all, he sees them every day, and he knows, deep down, some of them are not up to the level required, but he can't publicly say this. We can, but he can't, as they are assets of the club. However, one thing is for sure: he will definitely know the type of players to recruit in the summer.
Having said that, we all know on this forum what is needed, so surely he must know. Once we have a higher calibre of players drafted into the squad in the summer, he can then start to introduce some of our young talent that's knocking on the door. That's if he's still our manager for next season.
25 Feb 2026 20:17:30
Moyes likes grafters like Tarkowski and Keane. The only way I will change my views on him is if he picks O'Brien and Branthwaite ahead of these two, and not as bloody full backs. Playing Garner at right back was criminal, given how weak our midfield is. Why were Patterson and Coleman sitting on the bench? And what has happened to Aznou and Rohl, and don't give me "he says them every day in training" crap. He played Gana and Tim in midfield, so I can only think they must be amazing in training, because neither can actually pass a ball.
He's the manager, and part of his job is to develop these players, not ignore them. Same team, same tactic, home and away. Awful to watch, just lumping long balls up the pitch, which is a shame as, despite what people say, we have some very good footballers, we just won't let them play football.
24 Feb 2026 20:25:25
Where are GB and Skylark in all this feeling towards our glorious leader?
{Ed025's Note - both missing in no action mate.. :)
26 Feb 2026 04:12:35
Probably trying to avoid some of the hysterical noise when we lose a game of football.
24 Feb 2026 17:20:26
A question for my fellow evertonians how many more points do you think we pick up between now and the end of the season I think eleven I can see us under the magical fifty points mark when the season ends what say the rest of your moyes till end of season then I would be happy to see him vacate the hot seat.
{Ed025's Note - im thinking 8-10 TB, once we get mathematically safe and with no real expectation of Europe its foot off the gas time, job done mid-table obscurity and maybe a bus tour.. :)
24 Feb 2026 18:01:55
I think the foot is well and truly off the gas already, Ed. I think 8 points is likely realistic, but the season is already a dead rubber.
{Ed025's Note - its certainly heading that way Alex..
24 Feb 2026 19:55:53
Moyes is his own worst enemy. If he was to play players in their positions, and not be stung by his signings, I think we would all have a little bit more faith. I just think he's incapable of any forward-thinking tactics.
It's keep it tight, and hopefully we can pinch one. When you've got players like Ndiaye, George, Dibling, Armstrong, Grealish, Dewsberry Hall at your disposal, we should at least be seeing a good game.
24 Feb 2026 20:20:10
I thought 11 too, Toffeebwoy. No more, though. Wouldn't argue with others' estimates of 8 too.
26 Feb 2026 07:49:34
Depends on who he picks to play in the games.
24 Feb 2026 13:07:56
The fans don't pay their money to see the club get beaten at home repeatedly. Responsibility David Moyes to sort it out
Last season we could score from corners and other set pieces. This season we can't score. Responsibility David Moyes to sort it out.
The antics at corners with pushing, holding and pulling, the fans don't want to see. Last night it was disgraceful behaviour. I know it's both sides and most teams are guilty but it needs removing from the game.
Im sure the new signings didn't come to the club to keep the bench warm. They must be given chances. Dibbling for example will not develop as a player or a person being sat on the bench, irrespective of what the manager sees in training
We are at the stage where no one is scoring. Responsibility David Moyes
From our current position and hoping for European football, the lack of scoring goals, creating chances and missing chances, could at the end of the season prove a factor in missing out on it
Im on the fence with Moyes staying or going, but I must say that Everton's best seasons in my time supporting the club have been under Joe Royle, Howard Kendall and Harry Catterick. I apologise if I've missed anyone. Those manager all happen to be ex Everton players. So when Arteta and Carsley are looking for jobs their CV will put them in pole position in my eyes. Arteta being at the top of the Premiership and Carsley knows where all the upcoming players are.
{Ed025's Note - im afraid i have jumped off that fence Brian, i think he has taken us as far as he can mate, if we want mediocrity then we should keep hold of him but if we want to progress then he has to go for me, just my opinion of course..
24 Feb 2026 14:04:54
Yes ed025. Moyes needs to practice what he preaches then by winning games. He's said he wants European football but he's not doing what is needed. I don't want to fall off the fence because at 84 years I'll get a broken hip.
I'll blame Moyes for that if I do.
He dragged us out of a mess 12 months ago, but the buck stops with him.
{Ed025's Note - he has done what he is handsomely paid for Brian, he has made us safe and i appreciate that but like Allardyce mate he can only take a club so far, if we want to live up to our motto then...nothing but the best is good enough as they say not play to not lose and win if you can sneak one on the break, look after yourself my friend..
24 Feb 2026 17:37:24
Moyes thinks our motto stops at nil.
{Ed025's Note - love it BMD..
24 Feb 2026 13:39:08
Where do you start, so much for a new stadium being a fortress when you have a stubborn manager making a mockery of team selection. He played 3 centre backs in our back 4 and brought arguably our best and most consistent midfielder to rb. This seriously weakened our midfield. Not only that but our fastest centre back was put playing left back when it was blatantly obvious our centre backs are slow.
IGG still starting when he has been poor since he returned from ACON. Both him and Tim are both workhorses but have no idea how to play a forward pass with intent. Poor Rohl on the bench must be questioning his own ability seeing these start before him.
As for our striker, I do have sympathy for him. He's expected to control hit and hope balls in the air up to him 40 yards from goal lay it off and sprint forward. If it was on the ground he'd have some hope. Which begs the question who was the last striker that moyes had scoring consistently? I'm not sure he knows how to get the best out of any striker as he's more interesting in not losing than trying to win a game.
Unfortunately, I think if moyes had Lamine Yamal he'd probably say he's not physically ready for the Premier League and he'd be sitting on the bench next to Dibbling, Roll and Azou.
24 Feb 2026 10:37:25
Well another eventful night at our new stadium. Apparently the opposition like playing there more than we do according to Moyes. This despite the fact they have a tiny little changing room and only two or three showers.
It's got to the point now we're once the team is announced I just order another pint as I know there is no rush to get to my seat. Moyes tactics have sucked the life out of the crowd, who prior to kick off are doing everything they can to generate an atmosphere.
But how are you supposed to maintain it when you have to watch that dross.
People saying United weren't that good. Same was said about Spurs, Sunderland and others. Yet we lost to all of them, so how bad does that make us.
We have decent players in most positions, trouble is most are out of position or simply not being picked. Think we should keep Moyes till the end of the season then let him go. I really don't want to see this guy given a transfer budget just to watch him waste it.
{Ed025's Note - im with you AD..
