Is it just me or is anyone else a bit disappointed to see Galloway go out on loan again? I think, based on how he played for us the season before last that he is the perfect cover for baines. So does RL think Garbutt is the man or is he planning on signing someone? Any whispers? I think Luke Shaw should be considered. Also, I know we are getting Rooney and have been linked with giroud. But I think we need a top class striker. Sandro looks the business but the prem is much harder to play in than Spain. So it would be unfair to expect him to be a direct replacement for Rom, I say let's go for Vardy. Knows the league and is used to wearing blue! COYB.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I think the problem is that making so many changes and adding players will leave him right on the fringes. So it is better to grab some experience on loan.}

Vardy's main asset is pace, and at 31, it will almost certainly start to wind down!

Galloway showed some promise but is not good enough, he made no impact at WBA, but a loan deal will be good for his development providing he gets regular game time.
We should be looking to sign a left back to challenge Baines for the starting position and be a long term replacement.
We also need another right back, again Holgate has done okay but not his preferred position, he has poor distribution and gives the ball away as a consequence of this.

Championship will be perfect for him.
Looking like Sunderland will become our club to move players on to as they reach the twilight of their careers or send them to on loan to develop ☺️.

Hi Ed, with Lukaku going, what do you make of these claims that our signings to date have only been made in anticipation of receiving a huge fee for Lukaku? Do you agree with this or think it is rubbish and would have expected Everton to make the same signings for the same fees regardless of Lukaku's departure.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Koeman is getting the players he wants.}

06 Jul 2017 15:34:31
Part of me thinks we have paid more than we expected to get players in early and give them as much time to gel. Being completely honest, I couldn't careless anyway. It's not my money and not my job to care about it.

question for any Eds I have heard Giroud will have talks over the weekend have any of you guys heard anything and regarding Lukaku do you think he will settle for Utd (which I'm guessing is his agent pushing him that way) or do you think he will try and hold out for Chelsea as that's where his heart lies.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Giroud will have talks with who at the weekend? Manchester United are very keen on Lukaku as you know. There is no offer from Chelsea at this time for reasons I have explained. I appreciate everyone is saying the move to Manchester has been agreed but I personally am not so sure everything is quite settled just yet, but I expect it can be.}

06 Jul 2017 15:12:37
sorry ED heard a rumour Giroud will be having talks with Everton this weekend and I don't think it is a done deal my question was do you think Lukaku will listen to his agent and sign for Utd if they have a bid accepted or will he try and hold out for Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As far as I know Arsenal would need to give permission and I don't think there has been much more than a tentative enquiry. Another side has met with Arsenal this week but they are likely to step back - he is not their first choice.}

06 Jul 2017 17:42:23
Hi ed002

Is it your expectation that Lukaku will be a Man Utd player there's many conflicting reports and I'd appreciate your input.

I'd imagine your fed up of the Lukaku questions so I do apologise

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not interested in predictions Dave, but when everyone got the Kleenex out earlier it was premature - again. I would think something can be done with Manchester United.}

06 Jul 2017 18:02:25
cheers ED02 appreciate the reply.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

the rumour of a done deal for lukaku is definitely premature with some outlets reporting efc leaked this info with the hope of starting a bidding war. personally tho i hope it is done sooner.

Kleenex and premature, now I'm sure there is a joke in there somewhere.

£75mill accepted for lukaku.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

06 Jul 2017 10:26:13
shocker from us lowering down the price by 25 mill, bowed down to a club who are throwing money at anyone for a striker, need to make an even bigger statement with the cash, 50/ 60 million pound striker needs to come in to replace the one we have inevitably just lost.

Agree2 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - Nonsense - and who would theis "statement" being made to?}

06 Jul 2017 10:28:27
He had to go mate he didn't want us any more but wish him good luck but we have a new start as well and a lot to luck forward to.

06 Jul 2017 10:32:46
Think it's a decent price for both he doesn't want to be here and they need a striker just hope we get a decent striker in to replace him doesn't have to cost loads just potential and present.

06 Jul 2017 10:38:37
Have to agree with you Stef mate this is an excellent piece of business for Everton £75 mill is a hell of a price but good luck to him, hopefully who ever we bring in now will want to play 90mins every game, the world is our oyster good good things ahead for us Blues, long may it, sat, GuernseyBlue.

Glad it's done at last, been dragging on too long. I would love to see Rooney come back now.

ed002, the league obviously mate, you telling me replacing lukaku with sandro and giroud is showing everton are back, come off it lad ahahaha when the lukaku money comes through cannot say 'ahh well buy Sigurdsson with the money' he's not a striker and we needed him even if lukaku stayed, big striker name needed imo.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You don't seem to understand plain English nor the finances, nor the plans of Everton. The club has known for a year that Lukaku would move this summer.}

06 Jul 2017 10:44:28
Me too Lee mate, would be excellent for the club, further to my post above who says Rom was ever valued ar £100 mill all those reliable rags I expect, usual load of tripe, cheers mate GuernseyBlue.

Media now saying that no bid has been accepted. This coming from Everton. Jim White, who is saying he's having info from the top at the club.

Rom was good for us - and I thank him for his service - but now it's onto pastures and challenges new for both him and Everton. I'm sure a suitable replacement will be found.

06 Jul 2017 11:04:40
Don't always agree with u ed002 but on this occasion well done, anyone who comes out with this statement of intent and the rest of that crap r doing my head in, it's pathetic, yea we sold a player for loads of money so let's spend it all right now to show we are back haha show who? We show we r back by beating teams and climbing the league not by buying 50m players.

Agree5 Disagree3

06 Jul 2017 11:15:31
all that was getting said above was that the money needs to be used in getting in a top striker, if you sell your main influence of goals and don't replace with a similar yet bigger character you're not going to progress, ask the reds and spurs, bale never replaced and spent on handfuls of average signings, and same with the torres and suarez money from them lot across the park.

Agree4 Disagree1

06 Jul 2017 11:25:52
He was always leaving.
It's a 50 million + profit.
Rooney on a free adds at least 10 mill to that figure.
I'd rather let him go for free than have anyone in the shirt that doesn't want to run through walls for us.
Get him gone and look to the future - which is bright blue.

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Jul 2017 13:25:21
Ed 002 you mention everton knew he was going a year ago so was it all media rubbish when his agent said he was 99% ready to sign a new contract.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I explained at the time he would be gone this summer. I would not listen to what Mino says and expect it to be all true.}

06 Jul 2017 19:58:29
Right there ed if mino told me it was raining outside I would have to go out and check ed with ROM all but gone I was wondering have an idea on who will replace him I know giroud has been linked with us and I think he would be an excellent sigining for us but don't see it happening as I not sure he wants out of arsenal and gray and king are not are not good enough to replace ROM in my opinion and as good as I think the Sandro signing is he will need some support upfront.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - dembele is still well in the mix duke..

07 Jul 2017 02:18:40
giroud has been given no assurances on first team football at arsenal and with lacazette being they're number 1 striker next season and the world cup on the horizon believe me giroud is moving or losing his international spot as well as his club spot he has been given permission to seek a move as long as gunners get 20 mill for him koeman has spoken to giroud and its any ones guess whether he will move to us or back to france but it would be a stupid move to stay at arsenal this coming season.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 09:58:41
Ed any truth Birami of Porto is signing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I can't say he is signing but there remains interest in him from Everton and Nice - Spurs may also still be interested but the interest of the other sides who had looked at him has long gone.}

06 Jul 2017 10:15:18
Thanks very much Ed002 for the info hope we get him.
