Kamil Grosicki of Hull being mentioned. I'd be very happy with this one - he had a cracking end to the season. Very quick and direct and a great cross on him. Any truth in these rumours?

Tadpoleblue

{Ed025's Note - it looks like we are interested tadpole, i have to be honest and say i have never heard of him mate..

1.) 21 Jul 2017 22:12:54
Fingers crossed then - He was very good at the Euros in 2016 and very impressive for Hull when he came in January.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 22:28:27
He's a good player but is he an improvement on who we have, personally I don't see it, but if he was to become a toffee I would get behind all the way.

3.) 22 Jul 2017 07:59:02
kamil grosicki surely ends this sissy talk they are both wingers, at least i hope so.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 23:42:12
Ed you have never heard of him? I'm sure he nearly signed under Martinez or we had serious interest in him.

{Ed025's Note - my old brain is getting haggard i think dunc..

5.) 22 Jul 2017 06:40:41
Ed 025 - we were linked with him last summer (in the media at least) after he had a 'decent' Euros.
Hard working and seemed to do okay for Hull. We are lacking a bit of width in the squad now with Geri gone, McGeady ( who? ) gone, Bolasie injured and Mirallas still to convince as a wide player. So maybe he would give us options.

{Ed025's Note - i do remember the name now dave, pity i cant even remember if i have put sugar in my tea mate.. :)

6.) 22 Jul 2017 16:46:07
I'm not convinced he is a player that will take us forward just like mcgeady.

19 Jul 2017 14:49:16
Few rumours about that Chelsea and Man U could be in for Barkley. I can see him at Man U - Jose has said in the past he rates him. Hopefully some more interest will drive the price up.

Tadpoleblue

1.) 19 Jul 2017 17:39:10
Tadpole I got told that Ross is signing for utd, I was told about lukaku to utd and ross. I posted it on here but got laughed at last month.
I hope he stays but only if he wants to stay!

2.) 19 Jul 2017 17:44:13
it's possible but see how quick he came out to deny theses wage demand rumours. i guess he wants to let his new fans know he's not in it for the money, while he ignores the ones that have supported him since he grew into the first team. poor show from him and his advisors again i would keep him in the pl2 squad before i would let spurs have him on the cheap he deserves it imo i think other teams are looking at him cause spurs believe they have driven the price down but as all's they've done is alert others to his cut price availability.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 18:00:04
Bear with me on this post.
Of the “big six”, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United each surely have the resources to challenge for the top-four Premier League positions.
Tottenham have a very good manager and very good players already, but have the relatively worrying factor of playing all their home matches at Wembley - where they weren't great last season in the Champions League.
Liverpool, if they get their recruitment right, will fancy Klopp to get them to challenge.
Arsenal, if Wenger can get it right - and keep the fans onside - will hope to do better.
So, if Barkley does, as looks very likely, depart, I'd be happier if he went to CFC, MCFC or MUFC (at a pinch AFC) rather than THFC, so that THFC aren't strengthened to our detriment. (Obviously, Barkley going to LFC would cause a major meltdown amongst our fans. )

{Ed025's Note - you sound very much like cowpat sid if you dont mind me saying mate..

4.) 19 Jul 2017 18:02:45
Hope you are right this has been going on for far too long, its time to move on so R K knows what is needed for the team, cheers mate GuernseyBlue.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 18:08:33
rumoured to utd or not it would make no sense to utd to buy him they have so many good att mids he would be like a rooney player over the last couple of seasons there (hardly used ) surely barks advisors have told him this. just no way it is a good idea for ross or utd. this is why utd haven't seriously already looked at him cause they're att is pretty strong especially now they have bought that belgian guy can't remember his name. but ross is not known for his decision making i suppose . this whole thing is the only blip on our impressive recruitment drive sad that is is one of our own causing it.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 18:22:10
Ronald will be planning for life without Ross.
Someone will stump up the cash as teams get more desperate towards the end of August. I don't care where he goes if he doesn't want to stay. If Spurs don't buy him, they'd only stengthen with someone else anyway so we may as well profit from the deal. I'm glad he's not travelling with the squad, we want a tight group from day one who are focused on pushing for top 4 and the cups.

{Ed025's Note - hes actually having a small groin operation tadpole..

7.) 19 Jul 2017 18:53:25
Is that to find out where his balls have gone Ed?

{Ed025's Note - love it ST..

8.) 19 Jul 2017 20:13:13
Ed025 - whatever happened to Cowpat Sid? Before I recently registered, I used to read this website and enjoyed his posts, but then he suddenly disappeared. Was he banned for upsetting a grumpy Ed? Anyway, happy to be considered a similar poster to him.

{Ed025's Note - i would love to know myself bobby, your posts were very sid like mate and thats a massive compliment..

9.) 19 Jul 2017 21:40:17
BobbyC. I've just read your previous posts from today. Are you sure your not CowpatSid? Pretty similar on stats and stuff tbh. I think Ed has called you out :)

10.) 20 Jul 2017 00:04:01
Toffee Ace - I want to know what happened to this "Cowpat Sid". Does anyone know why he stopped posting - was he banned by a grumpy Ed? Other people have posted similar stuff about stats, etc., since it's all available on the Internet if you take the time to look for it and read it.

{Ed002's Note - There are no grumpy Eds.}

11.) 20 Jul 2017 07:54:29
There might not be any Grumpy Eds, but there are a few Happy fans this transfer window. Not sure if you also think there are some Dopey fans on this website ;-)

{Ed025's Note - good stuff bobby..

Reports in France say we've bid for Marcel Tisserand. CB, plays for Ingolstadt in Germany. Anyone know anything about him?

Tadpoleblue

{Ed002's Note - Ingolstadt has had discussions with St Etienne who have had an offer turned down for Marcel Tisserand. I am not aware of an offer for him from Everton and it would be a very big step up.}

1.) 15 Jul 2017 22:11:46
Cheers Ed - unless he's a young hopeful for the U23s, I'd like to think we're setting our sights a little higher.

2.) 15 Jul 2017 23:15:19
Have seen an article myself saying we bid 3m euros and st etiene bid 5m euros, he's 24 so doubt he would be for the u23's most likely just our club being used in a bit of brinkmanship to raise the value.

02 Jul 2017 08:46:22
Giroud rumours doing the rounds again this morning. He'll likely be moving if Lacazette moves to Arsenal and I think he'd be a good fit for us for the next couple of seasons. Do we know if any real interest has been shown?

Tadpoleblue

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Arsenal by Everton but another club has talks scheduled for, I believe, Tuesday - or possibly Wednesday in London. If Everton have moved interest to Giroud then they need to talk with Arsenal.}

1.) 02 Jul 2017 10:46:46
surely he would only come to us for the wages. would prefer we went for other targets than Giroud, let him go back whence he came. france, he is just another over valued, overrated player imo plus if he was all that why are the gunners so keen to replace him. why not one of they're other forwards not for me hope this one gets lost to the annuls of time.

2.) 02 Jul 2017 11:15:25
I used to think that floats but then I started watching him and boy that guy can head a ball not too shabby with his feet either and his hold up play well it's like a ice cold beer on a hot hot day it's that good as ED02 said we have not shown any interest as of yet but I would take him.

3.) 02 Jul 2017 12:07:51
"Only coming to us for the wages"

I doubt he's coming for the pies 😂😂.

4.) 02 Jul 2017 13:42:24
It goes without saying that he'd command a good wage, why wouldn't he? He's a top international striker. If he played 30 games up top, he'd deliver 15 goals at least. Bluey is spot on, his hold up play is as good as any striker in the league - with Sandro, Klassen and one or two others running off him, we could be deadly!

5.) 02 Jul 2017 14:37:11
He had the second best goals per minute ratio in the premier league last season. Only overtaken by Kane in the last couple of games. I think he'd work really well with Sandro, Lookman, Bolasie and, dare I say, Siggurdson. I think he's exactly the sort of player we need if we're prepared to play a more attacking game next season.

6.) 02 Jul 2017 21:01:27
Giroud is a proper target man who can head a ball and play with his back to goal, I would love to see him at Everton.

{Ed025's Note - i like him gray but he will not come to sit on the bench, i believe sandro is the same and it will take some creative persuasion or a change of tactics to keep them both happy mate...and there may be more to come..

7.) 02 Jul 2017 22:28:19
Sandro can play either side of a main striker in a 3 Ed so the 2 can work together, once Bolasie is fit, just think how scary we could be with him and Sandro either side of a striker of Girouds calibre, look at how our neighbours done goals wise with a similar setup. The reason we struggled for goals when Rom was off par was because we were one dimensional and it was easy for opponent's, stop Lukaku and you stop Everton, we need striking options to compete so Giroud should still be a goer as he can play as a lone striker, in a 2 or a 3 and that gives us options. We definitely need another striker as well as Sandro, and we couldn't go wrong with Giroud, add to that his name fits into a Beatles song so its a winner already.

27 Jun 2017 17:12:40
Few fresh rumours doing the rounds this afternoon. Galloway off to Forest - wouldn't be a big surprise. Onyekuru a done deal according to some sites - an odd one this but will have to trust Walsh's judgement in this one if it comes off. Kev Mirrallis off to Turkey? Not having this one - we need a squad to compete in 4 competitions and Kev is certainly worth a squad place.

Tadpoleblue

1.) 27 Jun 2017 18:23:42
Arsenal have been posting videos for weeks on Youtube Saying welcome to Arsenal Onyekuru. bet someone feels silly now.

2.) 27 Jun 2017 18:24:44
Why is onyekuru an odd one? Young promising stiker who was top scorer in Belgium last season.

3.) 27 Jun 2017 22:20:30
Odd because there was no indication that we were front runners for this deal. It's clear that, as well as improving the current squad, Walsh had been set the task of planning for long term success too. Usually we spend what we have on the scraps - now we have a clear vision, Moshiri means business! Long may it continue!

No rumours linking us to Renato Sanches -
I doubt he'd be interested at this stage. Plenty of rumours linking us to Gabriel Barbosa of Inter. He had a stinker of a season in Italy but was hailed as a 'wonderkid' at one point. Be worth a punt on loan as we're looking light up top.

Tadpoleblue

1.) 26 Jul 2017 11:45:47
Agree Tadpole, try before you buy. Worth a punt mate.

Zirkzee played for the U19s today so looks like we've snatched another young prospect from under the noses of the big boys! COYB!

18 Jul 2017 10:08:17
What does anyone make of the Martina signing? I understand the requirement for depth in the squad and you'd have to assume Koeman knows what he's getting, but I'd like to have seen Kenny getting game time until Seamus is back fit. And Holgate is a decent back up right back too.
Saints fans are more than happy to see him go.

Tadpoleblue

1.) 18 Jul 2017 10:40:19
In RK we trust.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 11:03:30
Just another body in the squad to cover injuries and suspensions, etc with a lot more games this season.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 11:38:21
Just because he was free doesn't mean he can't do a job for us. If he had cost 10m would it make him any better or worse?

4.) 18 Jul 2017 13:10:01
No one mentioned money ricktee.

5.) 18 Jul 2017 15:35:37
No offence meant Tadpoleblue, its just that some people assume because a player is released by one club he can't possibly be good enough for theirs. It happens with all fans of all clubs. He has obviously been broght in on a 3 year deal because RK knows him and not just as a stopgap until Seamus recovers.

6.) 18 Jul 2017 16:01:42
I think Martina is a good addition, especially as he was a free transfer. I don't believe it will impact on Kenny or Holgate, it's great for a player to have competition to prove he is worth the place in the team, and if Kenny gets in ahead of Martina then we know he is doing well in training. Also, it's nice to have that safety net for Kenny, what happens if he gets put in the team and the pressure gets to him, it could hamper his development and knowing that Martina is there to also do the job means Koeman doesn't have to persist with a player who is not quite ready yet, i think of Pilkington here in that he was highly rated but was just awful when given the chance, i don't think it was his fault, he just wasn't quite ready yet, but it's evidence that slow integration to the first team is often necessary.

7.) 18 Jul 2017 16:05:23
Ooops, i meant to say Pennington of course, been watching An Idiot Abroad and have Karl Pilkington on the brain. It's just too funny, check it out Blues.

8.) 18 Jul 2017 18:50:05
Kenny is very young and can't be expected to be ready for a champions league chasing side. A few league cup games and eased into the pressure of the premier league over the next two years.

This Cuco will do a job covering Baines and Coleman and is quite versatile.

11 Jul 2017 15:51:24
C'mon Everton. no signings since Sunday.
What's going on?

Tadpoleblue

{Ed025's Note - giving other teams a chance tadpole..

1.) 11 Jul 2017 18:34:27
Yes think we need to, West Ham fans have been suicidal of late due to our activity!

09 Jul 2017 17:33:56
Sky reporting we're now concentrating on Giroud, Sigurdsson and D Gray. Another exciting week ahead!

Tadpoleblue

{Ed025's Note - that would be amazing tadpole..

1.) 09 Jul 2017 19:17:10
Maybe Grey. Giroud will not leave London and Swansea are nothing but consistent on Sigurdsson not leaving and he, admirable in this day and age, does appear to value loyalty.

2.) 09 Jul 2017 19:33:58
Swansea will sell at the right price and Sigurdsson will be pushing for a move the right way rather than through the press. All clubs say players are 'not for sale'. It wasn't too long ago we said the same thing about Rom.

Is it not possible that we have a target man or two in our sights and Grosicki is being signed to provide for him? In this day and age of information overload, we think we know every detail of every deal going on. We don't. We'll have a list of targets to fill the no.9 role. I rate Grosicki and hope we get him in - I think the fans will be surprised by his quality.

All transfer fees are the result of supply and demand. If someone's willing to pay 50 million for Sigurdsson, then that's what he's worth. Same for Ross.
If someone offered us 30+ million I'd bite their hand off.
No one doubts his ability - but where's the end product?

Couldn't agree more Bobby. Mosh seems a class act. Not one of these owners who wants the limelight. He has a passion for the game and is used to being successful in what he does. He's setting us up to compete at the top table of European football for years to come. Back where we belong at last!
