Hi eds, do u know why Allardyce is intersted in the job? I remember before Koeman was sacked him saying he wanted and international job and left palace saying health reasons? If he just wants to come for the money i don't think its the right appointment because that was the reason Koeman came and look how that turned out. That said, i'm sure he would steady the ship in the short term if he was committed to us, and not Farhads money.

DGold1878

{Ed025's Note - he wants to manage on a short term basis these days gold, he sees himself as a fixer who will take on clubs in trouble and get them back on the right track, his family are his main priority he has stated so wants a big pay day over a short period and clubs are willing to accommodate him mate..

1.) 07 Nov 2017 19:45:04
All this Allardyce business is doing my head in. I cannot believe that a man who buys a major stake in a club with the intention of making it a top 6 side that regularly competes for domestic and European trophies and, who is prepared to bankroll a new stadium, can’t look further than the basement type managers being banded around. If we get Allardyce a new manager will end up undoing what he will do as we will have players he buys in January who will not be good enough to compete where we want to be and just cost us a fortune to replace when we appoint a new manager. Now is the chance to get a good manager, give him the opportunity to work with the players we have, build their confidence, steer us clear of relegation and as high as he can. Then in the background he can be making the subtle changes required for his style of play and some additions in January to take us forward and ready for next season. Europe has gone now, a top 6 place is still possible, the FA cup is still there. We must be the laughing stock of the EPL at the moment. I would also demote Walsh as he must take some of the responsibility for what has happened.

{Ed002's Note - Moshiri is not bankrolling any new stadium for Everton. You are living in a fantasy world.}

2.) 07 Nov 2017 19:59:05
Ed002 You are clearly a well connected individual whom understands football inside out, so please could you outline; Who Moshiri is?, What's his plan for the club? Will the stadium happen, how is it bring paid for? And finally who is actually in charge of the club?

{Ed002's Note - You should know all of these answers. Moshiri is a businessman who has invested in Everton at a time when English football is growing significantly financially. His plan is to see the club grow. The Council are behind the stadium financially and Everton will provide payments to the loans. I have no idea what you expect in respect of the last question.}

3.) 07 Nov 2017 20:00:40
Sorry ed my understanding was Morishi would ensure that the SPV who loaned the money for the stadium build that repayments would be guaranteed. You need to cool down with your replies and get out more lol.

{Ed002's Note - Try not to share ignorance then.}

4.) 07 Nov 2017 20:34:14
Thanks for your reply. Clarity is I'm seeking at a time when our football club seems rather muddled in it's thinking to say the least. The position of Steve Welsh seems vague while in the end like any business one man makes the final call on a decision such as a new Manager.

Hi ed025/ ed001/ ed002 do any of you guys know what the problem with Sandro is? Not getting a look in at the min, i know he wasnt great previously but he has had very little time to settle, i thought tonight would be a perfect opportunity to give him a game but we have decided to play others and not even take him. baffles me how they ecpect the lad to settle. cheers.

DGold1878

{Ed025's Note - its a tricky one gold, to be fair he has done nothing to warrant a place in the first team up to now but i seen tonight as a perfect opportunity, he has been very underwhelming since he came and i was really looking forward to him playing as he looked really good in spain, i dont know if his confidence is shot but i see tonight as a dead rubber and a chance for fringe players to stake their claim mate, not everyone will see it like me of course..

1.) 02 Nov 2017 17:54:20
I think Unsworth has bowed to public demand and started Lookman. What he has overlooked is we all wanted him to start on the wing lol.
This is either going to be a suicidal or genius line up. I mean if he hammer Lyon would he play this team Sunday?

2.) 02 Nov 2017 18:04:51
Agreed ed, would have been the perfect opportunity with less pressure, if they throw him back in to a league game, the pressure would get to him i think.

{Ed025's Note - at this time i think it would gold..

3.) 02 Nov 2017 18:15:44
not looking good so far smit666.

Hi eds sorry if you have already replied to this before. is the Cuco Martina deal still happening? A friend is adamant it is getting announced this weekend when contract expires but i haven't heard anything on him for weeks? Thanks.

DGold1878

{Ed025's Note - that seems to have stalled somewhat DG, he was on a free but may be deciding his future when a new manager is appointed at southampton mate..

1.) 26 Jun 2017 21:44:37
Hopefully Kenny will be given a chance at back up this season. The summer has done his chances no harm imo.

{Ed025's Note - i hope your right kingo, i know spending big is really exciting for us all, but i hope the likes of tom davies and a couple of others (including jonjoe) dont get pushed out, these kids have to be part of our future mate..

I think his performances have really dropped off since he came, don't want us to sign him to be honest.

I think people are just at the stage now where they take anything to get out of this nightmare that Silva and Moshiri are serving up. Gio van Bronkhorst is leaving Feyernoord this year and I think this is the sort of manager we should be looking at, he has done fairly well with Feyernoord and am sure he could work well with Brands. Do any of the eds know if this could be possible or if he is already tied up to a new club?

DGold1878

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about van Bronckhorst joining Everton. And only a few days ago everyone here was telling me Silva will be manager for the long term.}

I agree, its ridiculous to say Tosun not playing as he is struggling, but Williams has been struggling for 18 months, he really should never ply for Everton again, his performances and attitude are despicable.

I agree Johny, he was great when he came on at Anfield in the FA Cup, he can have a good impact coming off the bench in the second half, can't understand why we would be looking to let him go. as for left back, our poor recruitment policy is to blame for that. Do any of the eds know whether our wage bill could be a problem for us with FFP? I was shocked to learn Sandro is on 120k a week and we now have a lot of players on 100k+ per week, its a big jump in the space of 18 months - 2 years?

DGold1878

{Ed002's Note - Without seeing this years figures I don't know.}

I would keep Davy and try to move Rooney out. His performances in no. 10 role in general have been just as bad and he has had a lot more opportunities.

Guys Silva and Pickford need to go asap, the amoubt of points these two have cost us is unbelievable, also need Keane, Mina and Zouma gone and three new CBs to replace. If we get them 5 out and good replacements, we can solidify in mid table next year and then look to push up 2020/ 2021 season. if changes are not made, we will be relegated next year, if we are lucky enough to survive this one, Cardiff are only 9 points behind us but they have so much more fighting spirit in the team than us, at this stage of the season, its this that keeps you up.

I think Williams contract is up anyway, but like u say, with the others i would literally take £1 just to get them gone, I think we could get a few quid for Bolasie if we were lucky.

Cardiff will throw the kitchen sink at us now, it is a must win game for them, and as much as I hate to say it, I think they will win just for the fact that we won't be up for the fight.

I agree regarding the team being totally underprepared and lacking any gameplan. How do they prepare for set pieces in training though? Its been a theme in our team for years now, no manager we hire seems to be able to coach a centre back to head the ball away. Whether its zonal or not, it should be basic to any centre back, but again we concede three goals to high balls into the box. it really is disgraceful how the manager can't sort this out, its basic defending. Silva really needs to get us up the table, but i think we are heading in the other direction.

I agree, with Tosun, I can't believe they won't give him an extended run in the team while they have allowed Sigurdsson and Walcott to put consistently put on poor performances for weeks on end. I think there are goals in there if he was given a chance to build confidence and learn how to play with Richarlson, Lookman etc. Tosun missed a few chances against Wolves on the opening day but to me, that was one of our best performances of the season, and Tosun was a big part running off the ball. The way we treat some players is baffling.
