ed25; I know it's become a guessing game, but have you anything on us putting an offer in for Troy Deaney, told we asked when we where disscussing Lennon going to Watford.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 26 Aug 2017 23:28:27
Troy Deeney? Troy Deeney? Really? We'd be better going for Troy Tempest!

{Ed033's Note - With no strings attached - P.W.O.R.

I know swap deals are complicated and quite rare, so, is a deal, Giroud, Barkley deal a case of putting 2+2 together, or is their any milage in this rumour?
On the face of it, it would seem to suit both players, ( increased game time to go to the world cup) and both clubs to meet a perceived need in their respective sides.

1.) 27 Jul 2017 15:00:40
Great minds think alike, for what it's worth jcw, here is what I was going to suggest, pay the extra £5 million and bring Siggerson in, cannot see Everton now getting a big amount for Barkley so as Arsenal want Barkley, offer Barkley in a straight swap for Giroud, then it's just a back up keeper and Centre half and job done.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 17:44:34
Nice idea. But it's Barkley plus 15mill. Giroud is worth 30 to 35 million Barkley worth 20.
No prejudice against Barkley but that's what he's worth with only a years ticket left. Giroud is first choice national pick (I believe. )
Even after writing this it sounds like Arsenal are getting a bum deal.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 18:00:33
I think 35 million is a little high for his age, but a straight swap would be fantastic, remember he isn't a starter and Barkley is, I no Barkley on has 1 year left on his contract but he's only 23 Giroud is past his prime Barkley is coming in to his.

4.) 27 Jul 2017 22:07:04
Pickford is a class back up keeper what you on about? Also Barkley would get no game time at Arsenal. What is he better than Ozil?

5.) 28 Jul 2017 00:31:56
Svenny I have to ask. But what r u on about Pickford being a backup keeper and Ozil.
Have you posted in the wrong post. Makes no sense at all mate.

6.) 28 Jul 2017 08:21:21
The original poster claimed that Barkley and Giroud would get increased game time if they swapped clubs. I can't see Barkley playing ahead of Ozil.
The first responder said if this deal goes through all we would need is a back up keeper, a cb etc
I made a joke about that fact that Pickford was a sub last night so hence he was our back up keeper.
Really not that challenging.

7.) 28 Jul 2017 10:29:28
Oh hahahhahahahahahahahaha.
I get it now you explained it.
Silly me. My balls are hairy not crystal.

8.) 28 Jul 2017 11:09:42
Who says Arsenal want Barkley?

9.) 28 Jul 2017 13:53:14
How can we claim Barkley is a starting player when he was in and out last year and Koeman has said he's 100% gone? We're trying to sell him, other clubs aren't trying to buy him. Huge difference.

25 Jul 2017 23:00:41
I see chelsea are considering an offer for Tom Davies, well, using the swansea calculation method, that will be 1000m, and not a penney less.

1.) 25 Jul 2017 23:12:37
Love it JCW100.

2.) 26 Jul 2017 00:16:16
How u work that out. is Tom Davies an international player with proven premiership experience and with stats over a long period to back that up or is he a young professional trying to break into the first team. Confused.

3.) 26 Jul 2017 06:58:55
I think it was a joke Rich.

4.) 26 Jul 2017 08:34:38
he is the england captain u-19 and didn't they just win something?

5.) 26 Jul 2017 11:42:57
They did Floats but he didn't play in that. Given special leave to go on holiday, seeing as he'd played most of the season for us.

24 Jul 2017 23:48:38
Swansea have now rejected 45m offer, it really is time to tell them to p. off.
Even in todays over heated market, 50m is mad, time to walk away.
Go back when they have been relegated.

1.) 25 Jul 2017 00:54:01
yep, agree.
we have offered 40 million, take it or leave it. i think he would push for a move to us then.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 01:53:34
What a silly attitude to have! . When Man u or Chelsea were chasing Lukaku would have accepted the going rate or squeeze the buying club who wanted for your prize player. Don't forget Swansea know we have 75 mil sitting in the savings account.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 07:30:19
Might be the case but Manu have much deeper pockets and 50 Mil is too much IMO.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 07:32:13
ha ha walk away we will offer 45 million with 5 million add ons and they will prob accept it can't understand people saying walk away he isn't worth it if walker cost 55 million sigs is definitely worth 50 million prices are out of control.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 07:55:39
I shouldn't complain but. Didn't we ask £100m for Rom and accepted £75m? My own opinion, Gylfi would probably be the best player that we could buy out of all that we have done already. Let Swansea say, "we stuck to our guns before we sold him". Ultimately, we will have the player that we want and more importantly, need.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 09:15:15
When clubs are paying £50m for full backs is it really that much out of sink with the crazy market that is the premier league? He is a top performing midfielder with some of the best stats around, I can understand why Swansea are standing firm, no different than we did with Lukaku or stones or are currently doing with Barkley.!

7.) 25 Jul 2017 09:22:10
Offer 35 plus Williams. Then we got 15 ish to get us a better cb too.

8.) 25 Jul 2017 11:59:20
What I don't understand is why we don't just play Rooney in gilfi position and then spend the money on a top striker, Rooney will bag 10 goals easy a season and in my opinion is a lot better player, just seems we have money and just blowing it on inflated prices when we don't really need to, he's good and would be glad to have him, but at 25 million less than lukaku I can't really say that's good business, 25 million yes, we need some one who is going to get us 20 goals a season, sandro is untested so can't guaranty anything with him yet.

9.) 25 Jul 2017 13:16:08
spot on BH.

10.) 25 Jul 2017 22:48:58
kinda bizarre that people liken lukaku and lampard to gylfi this is way over-flattering for the icelander (? ) don't think we are being too sensible here and it is starting to look like we have no plan b.

i agree with the guy who said move on buy a striker. we are going all out to buy a dead ball specialist people who say he is more than this i would be happy for you to post the evidence of it on here. and i don't mean your personal opinion i mean evidence of him being more than this.

when we don't have a target man for him to aim at makes no sense any more to me this pursuit if swans don't want to sell move on. surely we can get better value elsewhere i mean we could tell barkley to stay another year and see out his contract then we wouldn't need gylfi this year anyway if we end our interest in him officially then swans will probs approach us to take him cause one thing for sure he will not be happy in s/ wales from now on.

seems to be working for our neighbours across the park with VVD. he is demanding the right to leave as would gylfi if we end our interest i am sure. we seem desperate to sign the player i haven't seen this kind of pig-headed stupidity since the days of gordon lee.

it is intriguing to me tho who koeman and co have in mind for sigurdsson to target cause if they don't have someone lined up they need their heads testing and i am a fan of gylfi and would like us to get him but not at any cost right now swans have time on their side and can play with us so as gylfi is not a settled efc player when the season starts if we tell them sod off they will come crawling back eventually cause they cannot keep the player now imo.

23 Jul 2017 11:58:27
I have been a pessimist, but i have nothing on those who have posted on here.
The first week or two, might be difficult, but, by October / November, we will be top six, no I don't harbour any notions that we will win the prem, but we will make progress, and, with a little luck make top four, a cup, or perhaps both.
my pessimism is only that we might not get the manager to extend his contract.

1.) 23 Jul 2017 17:31:21
even if he does go after 2 more years ( i think he will ) moshiri will go get another top manager, we are above basement buys now. we can almost do a harrods run rather than aldi.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 17:47:47
I don't think we can judge if he will stay or go right now, he bought in to the project and that's why he joined I doubt the project was laid out as a three year plan but only time will tell, for now it's full steam ahead!

3.) 23 Jul 2017 18:37:06
not an efc related thing but does anyone who has been paying attention to this neymar scenario, think it's hilarious that lfc would be dragged into it, and are about to get a taste of their own medicine as they chase naby keita and try to lure him away now the only way he stays (neymar) is if Barcelona buy another brazilian coutinho being the main target and all because neymar is lonely with no brazil players in the team. i wonder if lfc will sell, lol wonder if lipzeig will sell poetic justice in a way. either way its a headache for their fans.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 07:24:49
As a LFC fan myself "floats", I honestly don't see Coutinho leaving in this transfer window, he seems to have a more down to earth attitude and some loyalty, as I remember when we came to take him from Inter, he also wanted to stay there at that time due to qoutes attributed to him at the time. Can't see us getting the lad from RBL personally, don't want him at the rumoured prices being pushed around either. Everton are doing well in the transfer market and should have a great season, I'd stick to worrying about your own now. Winners tend to focus on themselves and you guys are potential winners now with your new players. It's just a suggestion, I have great respect for you blues and always have, so not trying to wind anyone up. But this is your chance to do something good and if you focus on others, you take your eyes off of the potential prize (top 4 and maybe a cup) . Get behind your club this season and I see Lukaku having one or two regrets come next May possibly.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 12:15:13
fair point ok1 wish your side all the best too mate. except for those 2 games during the season that is. i just thought it was kinda funny that neymars loneliness has put Barcelona on your case. respect for a good post.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 23:48:23
Ah yeah I know how it is Floats :) , I appreciate the banter n all so no worries there mate. If both of our clubs are doing well this season, imagine the atmospheres for the derby matches. Looking forward to them already. There's nothing like a Merseyside derby when both sets of players and fans are on top form. Good luck mate!

Was very critical of our display in italy, but dispite the scoreline today, their was a very real improvement.
Giver results, it would have been ease to capitulate afder conceeding an earley goal, but the stuck at it and, until Williams comitted suiside, we looked like the team most likley to get the next goal.
Don't go in for personal abuse, but if we are going to play out from the back, there is no place for Williams, he simply does not have the quality to play that type of game and that has been evadent long before today.
Finally, unt are likely to win the prem this year, and, on their own growned, and a goal start, we boss the game for long spells, time to hold our nerve.

1.) 18 Sep 2017 09:28:06
Williams wasn't the only culprit to be fair, Keane almost gave one away first half, as did Pickford. To many individual errors!

{Ed025's Note - very much so wakka..

15 Sep 2017 13:18:41
Alder hay, should recive a big donation this week, the wages of the whole squed, should give their wage packet in total should go to the hospital, as not one penney has been earned this week. PS, THAT ALSO GOES FOR THE MANAGER.

1.) 15 Sep 2017 16:05:01
Those fans who travelled should get free match and flight tickets paid for by the players and manager for the trip to Lyon. Poor buggers those who spent so much to watch a performance like that.

{Ed002's Note - So the Everton "supporters" are only sunny day fans who only support the club when they are playing well. That answer lots of questions I had.}

14 Sep 2017 12:22:15
Manager get the big bucks for making the right calls, and in general, his purchases are good, even if some are taking time to adjust to the prem, but, in the absence of coalman, holgate or kenney, would, imho, have done a better job, and developed them as player, rather than a dubious free transfer from s/ hampton, could not hold his place there, and was released without a renewal offer, bench warmer at best.

1.) 14 Sep 2017 17:10:44
Kenny is too young and would be too much pressure in this period of matches. Holgate offers nothing going forward. That's where we're struggling.

We have to be patient until we start gelling these new players into the team. Like last year it may not be until December/ November.

10 Sep 2017 20:27:57
I never wanted martinez as manager, and for all his time here, I was never shy in expressing that opinion, but, dispite being as unhappy as anyone, about yesterdays perfomance, I think that we have appointed the right manager and that he will get it right.
However, there is one thing that must happen to give him a real chance, Bill Kenwright must step down from his hands on roll, who we have signed, have not signed, and when, has bills finger prints all over it, BILL, for the sake of the club you claim to love, it's time to step aside.

1.) 10 Sep 2017 21:23:01
not sure how you can blame Bill Kenright that's just pure daft.

2.) 11 Sep 2017 05:29:14
So you don't think Koeman had any part in transfer activity this summer? Are you saying Koeman wanted different players at different times and Kenwright overruled him? Or just that players like Giroud or Costa would have come to Everton if Bill hadn't been involved? Is there any evidence for that?

3.) 11 Sep 2017 05:47:04
Same old blame game. is this bill kenwright, who brought moshiri in, who until end of transfer window closed had all Everton's touting him as the saviour of Everton. Amazing. does anyone remember agent Johnson, and transfer windows waiting for loan deals in dying minutes. a couple of games in and some have the nooses tied. the clue is in the name. 'supporter'

4.) 11 Sep 2017 10:13:08
Sorry Bluey but I agree with JCW. I have said it for the last few seasons now (and got castigated for it) . Just look at all the dithering and delays over signings in the past and then this past window a huge floury initially but then no real idea for or a replacement ready once Lukaku went. Eccleston and Bill are either too cautious or/ and not realistic in their transfer offers and dealings, compared to the successful clubs.

07 Sep 2017 12:56:55
A newspaper say everton fan fear the worst as barkley seen at tattoo removal place.
I don't fear the worst, just want the spoilt overated brat gone.
Fans stuck by this lad though a host of substandard performances, then when he gets a manager that tells it to him like it is, he sulks and trys to shaft the club over his transfer value, talented, yes, but mentally weak as water, boy that will never grow into a man.

1.) 07 Sep 2017 13:07:19
I think that Barkley has a promising future behind him.

{Ed007's Note - "I hate this sort of gratuitous insult. Keep criticism of any player constructive and rationale."}

2.) 07 Sep 2017 14:40:21
I would say a lot of fans have short memories, the lad ha also taken a lot of stick and criticism from our own, rather like John Stones.
This is their career rather like ours is to us, perhaps Barkley does not feel the fans are behind him anymore?
However it turns out I would question how did the club let it get to this position? They should have been extending his contract a year and a half ago!

3.) 07 Sep 2017 16:57:34
John stones great example and still could become a top player but only if he starts playing regular, would of improved better under Koeman. He will not become the player everyone thought he would become has I think he made the wrong career choice going to Man City, will win things of course but Pep won't turn him into a top defender, people still say Kompany is the best they have and he's not been great for few seasons due to injuries but that tells you everything especially how much they have spent. Look at Jonny Evans getting the applause because he is playing week in week out under a great defensive manager, by learning how to defend properly.

Know idea what the hell is going on in Barkley's head, but he does seem to be listerning to some very strange advice, for all the fact that this lad has betrayed all those supporters that stood by him in a whole range of substandard performances, you still hope that someone would sit him down and tell him a few home truths. Frances Jeffers is a sad tale of someone who could have had a great career, but ended with a host of regrets.

Would not have Wellbeck as a free gift, unt got rid, poor goals per game, this aspect of his game has not improved at Asenal, must be rubbing the hand, just to get him off their wage bill, "low price" is an indication of just how keen they are to get rid.

Gylfi is a good player, but, for 50mill, we could go to europe abd buy a real world class creative midfield player, if we get him, he will get my total support, but we will still have paid 20m to much.

Henderson as england captain is a joke, plays for a team who the media love, outside of that he would never get a game, he is not prem standard, much less england.

The best roll for ross is, once fit, is to be made to play for the 3rd team right to the end of the season, not out of spit but as a warning to others who think they can f. the club about. plus, give him a colour tv as a leaving present so he can watch the world cup.

He is about as much an evertoniann as bill shankley, we supported this boy though many woful performances, only for him to turn round and piss all over our club, if I were to post the true felling of myself and many many others it would never appear, this selfish brat needs to grow up, and never get another game at goodison.
