klaassen loan to Napoli looks off as Napoli hadn't realised he was cup tied for Europa league, wish we could forget we were in the Europa that easily!

wblue

1.) 31 Jan 2018 17:15:36
I find it amazing that a club would even make an enquiry about a player without checking illegibility first.

31 Jan 2018 10:52:50
Simon says on talk sport potentially only one in on loan (Mangala) and one out on loan (klaassen) happy with that?

wblue

1.) 31 Jan 2018 11:48:51
by simon I meant big simon apologies.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 12:27:26
Or big Sam even. Hahaha.

Everton tell west Ham that schneiderlin is not for sale : ( was fun whilst it lasted.

wblue

1.) 30 Jan 2018 12:30:51
Transfer window closes tomorrow and Schnids to start against Leicester, going to be a long last Day tomorrow, no left back in, cannot see the old lady rocking tomorrow night.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 13:13:35
I have said this before about Martina but now feel the need to add Scheiderlin into that comment. They must both have some agent and contract stipulation because for the life of me I just cannot see any other reason why they play week in week out.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 13:28:14
That's why you're not a football manager.

4.) 30 Jan 2018 14:23:50
Any football manager/ non football manager can see that he's been woeful for a good 6 monthes now pal :) )

5.) 30 Jan 2018 15:14:57
He has been poor this season without a doubt but, then again, not many in the squad have covered themselves in glory. Last season he was outstanding and proved he has the ability to play at this level. If we can get him back to last years form then I'd be happy to keep him but not taking him out of the firing line after losing form is doing neither the team nor the player any favours.

6.) 30 Jan 2018 20:30:55
MyTeamsBetterThanYours, rather caustic there aren't you. The reason I am not a Football Manager is because I chose a different career path. I also always maintain my comments are mine alone and my opinion alone. Have never thought or said I had better knowledge than those in charge. But thanks for your input.

7.) 30 Jan 2018 22:42:05
Martina has been decent at times, but the time he has been poor overshadows this. He played a part in the spell we did not concede much at all. But it is glaringly obvious he should not be in the first 11 even in any position and is a weak link. Plus we need a left footed player in there.

02 Jan 2018 16:50:36
latest online about tosun, is that the deal should still be agreed and completed and that he has been told by steve walsh to be ready for Friday incase called upon.

28 Nov 2017 14:16:23
now we all know twitter is nothing to go by, but a lot of portugese and Italian journos now claiming fonseca (pardon spelling) in pole position to land the job, gamble blues? I mean if this goes balls up we really are in trouble if he can't adapt to management over here.

wblue

1.) 28 Nov 2017 15:12:53
that's the million dollar question do we gamble or play safe I would play safe which kills me to say as I hate that bung taking joke of a man.

{Ed025's Note - hate is a strong word BLUEY, but i must admit that i dislike him intensely mate..

2.) 28 Nov 2017 15:14:36
Tbh i would rather have Sam, we need a proven manager in this situation, as u say, Fonseca is a total gamble.

3.) 28 Nov 2017 16:11:10
I disagree the gamble would be allardyce he leaves clubs in tatters.
Fonseca is young and hungry the way moyes and Howard once were.

{Ed025's Note - i have to admit that i know very little about fonseca scoundrel, but for me if allardyce wants a longer term appointment and is holding us to ransom then i would go for fonseca all day mate..

4.) 28 Nov 2017 16:24:14
Fonseca all day long for me - we've got time for one last roll of the dice. Alladyce will still be around in March if it all goes wrong! I'd rather have Fonseca's draw bringing players in in January than Big Sham.

5.) 28 Nov 2017 16:24:27
I'd be very happy with this as I put a bet on at 20/ 1 on fonseca. I'll be able to buy myself that new pair of shoes.

{Ed025's Note - and if sam gets it i will be able to buy myself a gallon of petrol and a box of matches gibbo.. :)

6.) 28 Nov 2017 17:58:43
I am still baffled why we put Ebrell alongside Unsworth instead of Joe Royle, may not have made that much of a difference but Royle for me was a better option, Ebrell, Ferguson and Ebrell look like the three stooges on that bench.

I was hoping for Villa Boas who has at least got premier league experiance, could even say Eddie Howe but have already found out being a Blue is not enough to whip this squad into place.

Have a feeling it will be big Sam.

{Ed025's Note - i have said before that where i believe the problems we are having stem from is the "jobs for the boys" culture at the club baz, i would personally kick the lot of them to the kerb and start afresh without all the hangers on who just because they are ex-blues think the club owes them a living, they have had their time and i hope the new guy brings in his own new staff mate..

7.) 28 Nov 2017 15:19:17
I honestly know nothing about him. ED002 will be the man to ask.

{Ed002's Note - he would be a good choice but Shakhtar Donetsk won’t want him to go and it would take lot as he has been at the highest level in terms of European competition and would need to give that up.}

8.) 28 Nov 2017 18:42:52
the problem stems from buying and playing, only one. of three very similar forwards who are actually midfielders. first koeman did and now unsy is. klassen rooney and gylfi. why first ron now david is giving the nod to sig is beyond me he is not earning the start from match play that's for sure. would love to know what he is doing in training to warrant being played cause as far as i can see he is a luxury player we don't need. we do need youth and young legs in the middle. same for morgan when gana was playing cdm without him he was the best in the prem since he's been playing with him he is the worst. solution stop playing them together neither koeman and unsy have done this. its the same at the back how can a premier league squad not have a back up LB, and after the first time we played martina in the LB position why was he again picked by both koeman and unsy to play there again, we must have a 16 year old who can play left back better than him he is not an option. i wonder if the problem is unsy not taking the best players from the secondary squad and forgeting fringe squad players like holgate who can defend when others being picked clearly can't. all that being said i don't believe it can get much worse, the last ten games we have been terrible and we are barely in the relegation zone with jan on the horizon and seamus yannick nearly ready the next ten games will be better imo so no need to panic me thinks.

9.) 28 Nov 2017 19:12:41
Ed002 - after Koeman was dismissed, I recall you suggesting that Hoddle would be a good choice for manager/ head-coach at Everton.
Firstly, am I recalling that correctly?
Secondly, if so, do you still take that view and could that appointment really work given Everton’s present situation and he’s been out of Premier League management for a while and he might bring some “historical baggage or controversy” with him?

{Ed002's Note - Hoddle is an excellent coach, a nice guy and a strong character.}

10.) 28 Nov 2017 19:01:32
Ed025 - so you’d get rid of every former Everton player currently on the staff? You’d bin Unsworth, Ebbrell, Ferguson, Royle, the U23 and Academy coaches (Jeffers, etc. ) , the club ambassadors (Snodin, Stuart, etc. ) ? Do you think they’re ALL undeserving of a role with the club and it’s just a blatant case of “jobs for the boys”?
Food for thought: the three managers who won trophies for Everton during the past 50 years - Catterick, Kendall and Royle - were all former Everton players.

{Ed025's Note - i would keep unsy as he has found his niche with the U23,s bobby, the rest can go for me, catterick, kendall and royle were a different ilk to what is at the club at the moment, joe can have an ambassadorial role i suppose but none of the others near the fist team squad, they are all very comfortable in fact too much so and we need a new beginning, thats just my view of course mate and i dont expect a lot to agree, but there is "something rotten in the city of denmark" as they say and its infected this club to the point where the whole set up needs ripping up and starting again..

11.) 28 Nov 2017 19:51:29
Ed002 - thanks for your reply. That being the case, why isn’t Hoddle in the running for the Everton - or any other Premier League club’s - managerial position these days?

{Ed002's Note - I wish knew the answer. I will ask him next time I run in to him, but I don’t see him often. I agree that he doesn’t seem to get considered as much as he should.}

12.) 28 Nov 2017 20:13:57
I actually think you may be onto something with that speech Ed025.

{Ed025's Note - im just searching for a reason why a lot of experienced international players cant seem to play football i suppose grumpy..

13.) 28 Nov 2017 20:18:50
Ed002 - thanks - much appreciated.

14.) 28 Nov 2017 20:57:39
It's a very refreshing angle Ed025 and certainly one that I had not considered, How much, or even if, It would set us back as a club is maybe something we will never know.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know if it would work grumpy but up to now nothing else has, it wont happen of course but something is not right at our club mate..

15.) 28 Nov 2017 22:40:30
Two people who know all about Everton and speak their minds is Peter Reid and Neville Southall, neither have anything in an Everton role, instead we have second rate yes boss men in a Ebrell, Jeffers and the like.

I agree Ed25 move Unsworth back to the U23, the rest clear out of Goodison and start afresh.

Also agree with Ed02 in regards to Glenn Hoddle.

just a quick queston eds, may be me being stupid or just not thinking right, how come every press conference the right questions are never asked? there's no pressure put on are they told before they come in these are the questions allowed to be asked? why then was there no question on why he persisted with three at the back which has never worked? why no questions about klaassen/ garbutt/ schneiderlin there's nothing coming from them really.

wblue

{Ed002's Note - Press conferences are organised to talk about matches, possibly injuries. Not to subjectively put pressure on the club staff. Everton are not forthcoming because of the previous toxic nature of the fans as has been previously explained - don't try to encourage it to degrade again.}

1.) 08 Feb 2018 17:56:41
I hate to admit it Ed002 but you are right about some of our toxic supporters. I can't believe what I read sometimes. I am Blue through and through. but sometimes I despair at what I read!

07 Feb 2018 14:09:14
if indeed we do get rid of the gravy drinker in the summer, what do we reckon on howe? I know we've mentioned his name before with mixed review but he's getting Bournemouth playing again now unbeaten in a good number of games after a shaky spell and look safer from the drop than we do! dyche name also has to be there with an outside choice of fonseca.

wblue

1.) 07 Feb 2018 21:23:55
Fonseca for me. Howe would not come and Dyche would tell us where to stick it.

{Ed025's Note - i think howe and dyche would jump at the chance to manage us DFS..

2.) 07 Feb 2018 23:32:08
Howe would come. He is a childhood Evertonian isn't he?

29 Jan 2018 14:26:13
oh wow, sky sports saying west ham want schneiderlin and willing to pay 20 mill for him wow oh wow I think every blue on Merseyside is available to drive him down?!

wblue

1.) 29 Jan 2018 15:45:54
Take the money, lots of players mentioned as a replacement, also have Davies, Beningame and Rooney we can play there, won’t happen but contract running out in the Summer how about a cheeky low bid for Fellaini.

26 Jan 2018 10:09:40
loaning lookman out is what's best for him, don't get me wrong in my opinion he should be in contention for starting most games and at least getting on the pitch off the bench, but big sam doesn't even put him in the match squad, what on earth he sees in bolasie over ademola ill never understand, probs just because he's over 25 sam gets erect and thinks experience is everything.

wblue

1.) 26 Jan 2018 19:58:54
Are you seriously saying lookman is better than bolasie, he has potential to be but right now bolasie is far better mate he's had a few off games but he's been out for a year give him a few weeks to get up to speed.

19 Jan 2018 09:41:31
big sam in his presser saying he doesn't think there will be any more coming in, surely got to be the old managers bluff there as we have a big glaring hole at left back!

wblue

1.) 19 Jan 2018 09:50:28
Think your right no point buying attacking players even tho much needed if conceding goals from the left back position every game! Can't bear to watch us sometimes knowing Martina is playing!

{Ed025's Note - im sure if a LB of worth is available lee then we will go for him mate..

2.) 19 Jan 2018 10:11:26
hasn't Garbutt been removed from the u23s maybe he will get a chance on Sat.

3.) 19 Jan 2018 10:15:23
He’s looking at Garbutt in training and might bring Galloway back from loan to see if they can do a job at left back. If they aren’t up to it, then I’d expect someone else to be transferred in.
We’ve only 2 matches until the end of the transfer window (in 12 days) , so there’s time between those matches (on the 20th and 31st) to get this sorted.
Besides, we need to move players out. My understanding is that’s not because we have to sell before we can buy again, but rather that we need to keep the wage bill in line with financial regulations. We also need to reduce the squad size, as we clearly don’t need all those players.
I expect a major shakeup of the squad in the Summer and some more big spending - only this time with better regard to what we really need and the balance within the squad.

4.) 19 Jan 2018 10:38:52
I agree with ed025 if a decent LB does become a available then we may go for him but it may be that our 1st choice is not currently available and we are not going to buy a second string player just to fill in for half a season. It looks like its not transfer fee related but more to do with squad size registration and keeping in line with FFP which can only be a prudent thing to do in the long term.

{Ed025's Note - i think thats right sa, some fans think throwing money at it is the solution whereas its part of the problem mate..

5.) 19 Jan 2018 10:56:58
I have just checked on the official premiership site to see if Garbutt has been registered and his name isn't on there so it looks like we will have to put up with Martina unless we shift a few and bring a LB in.

6.) 19 Jan 2018 11:25:32
Looks like there is not enough space for Garbutt so unless someone leaves he may not get a place anyway. Just shows RK didn't rate him.

its really mixed bag and can see both sides of the argument.
on one side you can see maybe he wants to just make us stable again with big sam left in charge to see what he can get out of the team in a full season and build on year after after we finally have a solid looking line up and squad
the second is maybe the signings he makes will cost a lot and the next man to come in inevitably in 12 months time won't want them

tough call really is all about wether the right man buys into it aswel, the next manager must be someone who wants this desperately and sees this as a project he can get his teeth sunk into (like klopp at lfc and mourinho when he first got to Chelsea) tell the man that he's the guy and let him run with it.
