If Coleman is injured for the begining of the season, how about playing Garner at right back, Tim seems to have settled well in midfield.
1.) 11 Aug 2024 09:59:04
Not a bad shout. SD will likely go with Young though.
2.) 11 Aug 2024 20:30:22
Hope he doesn't play Young, last season Brighton targeted Young and gave him a right run around. Agree Garner could do a job there. But why not give Roman a go?
3.) 12 Aug 2024 10:12:01
Garner might not be fit for Brighton himself.
it'll be Young RB.

Great effort and commitment from the whole team yesterday in getting a 3rd win in 6 days. Size of our squad does not allow for rotation.
Wouldn't surprise me if on appeal we now get our 2 points back for this season and these are deferred to next season, where we start on -2 points.
Might be wise to pull the appeal.
1.) 28 Apr 2024 10:52:42
What?
2.) 28 Apr 2024 11:46:14
Ed002's note to dycheflysouth -------------You clearly don't understand the situation at all - keep your ignorant comments to yourself---------
3.) 28 Apr 2024 12:21:27
Maybe I didn't explain myself properly so sorry if it's come across like that.
My concern is the appeal against the 2 point penalty, I assume could go a number of ways. No change, keep the 2 point penalty this year. Reduced to 1 or maybe 0 points deduction. Or, I guess, and I don't really know this, it could be increased. I did read somewhere we had asked for the 2 points to be deferred until next year. My suggestion was just to pull the appeal and just accept the 2 points.
4.) 28 Apr 2024 13:02:24
Fair point tbt. But if we stay true to form we will probably start with a minus next season. ?.
5.) 28 Apr 2024 13:43:15
Good question.
No idea why DFS thinks you should keep your comments to yourself on a banter page.
6.) 28 Apr 2024 14:03:32
That comment of keep to yourself was not written by me.
{Ed002's Note - No it was written by me.}
7.) 28 Apr 2024 14:04:06
Me neither Bunnyman mate.
8.) 28 Apr 2024 18:08:17
More twaddle from DFS again.
9.) 28 Apr 2024 19:04:18
GB read above GB.

Seems like the FA will never admit fault to anything. Even though the ban for DCL has been removed, the red card stays on his record and any further red card this year will result in an extra days ban. Source of this info was talk sport. Does anyone know of this is just hearsay or if it's actually true. Wouldn't surprise me if it is!
1.) 11 Jan 2024 16:18:39
Just highlights how inept these people who run our game are.
2.) 11 Jan 2024 16:30:06
Common sense to me would be, if they overturn a red card ban, they should overturn the red card. Bit like saying we overturn your life sentence to freedom, but you are still a murderer.
3.) 11 Jan 2024 18:24:54
If it’s true then it’s more stupidity from the authorities. I would be surprised but not shocked. These people are idiots.
08 Jan 2024 20:15:26
Anyone know when the DCL appeal against the red card will be held. Seems like it's a decision that could be made immediately, one way or the other.
1.) 08 Jan 2024 20:48:00
Got to wait for the VAR officials to come out from hiding first.
2.) 08 Jan 2024 21:29:54
Same as return of some points, how can we get out of this one is the main topic of discussion.
3.) 08 Jan 2024 23:10:06
My feeling is that they will not reverse the decision, as not a clear and obvious mistake has been made. Let me think about that.
4.) 09 Jan 2024 06:09:27
Agreed TBT. Sadly though, it wasn’t a clear and obvious mistake in the first place.
5.) 09 Jan 2024 09:01:10
Pretty clear and obvious to anyone watching it.
6.) 09 Jan 2024 14:25:12
Getting on for 5 days now and no decision made. Does SD prepare the team with DCL available or not. Can't think why it takes so long.
7.) 09 Jan 2024 16:07:27
Just been announced that we have won the appeal and he’s available. ????.
8.) 09 Jan 2024 16:29:55
Shocked but pleased.
{Ed025's Note - im the same TBT, its not like them to admit a mistake mate, just lets hope the people at the points deduction panel do the same..
9.) 09 Jan 2024 16:38:33
Maybe we could ask for the same panel to judge it lol.
10.) 09 Jan 2024 17:06:34
Don't know way we are expecting the red card to be overturned, when have the premium league ever admitted that they got something wrong .
11.) 10 Jan 2024 17:56:27
Biggest problem is that VAR look at tackles in slow motion and freeze frame. Put those together and every tackle looks like a foul if you want it to.
12.) 11 Jan 2024 04:29:21
Remember the days when the ball got stuck in the mud or going in for the tackle and ending up in the Mersey. Now that was freeze frame.

I am a little bit fed up with the press and media talking about Newcastle playing the same team for 4 matches. We have not exactly shuffled the pack over that same period. Most of our players have played nearly all our games this season.
1.) 08 Dec 2023 11:42:39
We never get any credit mate. Its either VAR, the ref, the opposition had a number of injuries etc etc. Thought our boys played well last night. We should have scored more but that's the story of our season.
2.) 08 Dec 2023 12:37:45
Need to stop playing the victim and get on with it. Decisions are either for or against, no agenda. It's a competition, not life or death. On to the next game.

Thanks Ed. Think we are all just wishing this mess would get sorted soon. Doesn't look like it though.
{Ed002's Note - These things take time with huge complications in the £1B debt the club has.}
16 Aug 2024 09:30:37
I wonder if Textor already has a buyer lined up for his Palace shares. Why would Moshiri give exclusivity to someone who is not in a position to buy the club yet. Then again!
{Ed002's Note - No, all he has right now is an unacceptable offer.}
12 Jul 2024 18:30:41
Don't really understand the PSR rules, but if that is correct, they have better accountants than we have ?.

For me, all the better teams have really good attacking full backs who can also defend and comfortable on the ball. I don't see us having those skills in our team. Wingers can be marked out of the game without the support of the fullbacks.
12 Jan 2025 14:22:03
Agree Pedro, but also some pace out wide. Both fullbacks need replacing in my eyes, the ones's we currently have should only be back up.
Problem is we won't solve all the issues this window, so do we go for ball playing midfielder that can create, or improve positions on the flanks. Think a centre forward that can actually score may be out of our price range at the moment, so maybe creating more chances for who we currently have may have to be the answer for now.
09 Jan 2025 19:22:42
Understand what you're saying Ed, but Moyes or Dyche? If it has to be Moyes I am ok, so long as Dyche has gone.
{Ed025's Note - out of them two i would have to agree TBT..
08 Dec 2024 15:28:58
Agree bb, pacey fullbacks that can both defend and attack a priority for me. All good teams have good fullbacks.
28 Nov 2024 10:05:33
Like most people on this site, I would like to see Dyche leave the club ASAP. I do have concerns however, that we don't have the quality of player to play a better brand of football. I may be wrong as they have not yet had a chance to play this way. However, quality attacking fullbacks and ball playing midfielders I don't believe we have.
