Anyone up for binning VAR and using goal line and offside technology only. I hate the waiting, especially in the stadium, for decisions that are still debatable. New offside technology is supposed to be quick.
I long for the days when a goal was scored and a quick glance to the linesman to check his flag wasn't raise was all that was needed.
1.) 07 Apr 2025 02:23:29
Meant to be used for clear and obvious errors. When it's taking 5 mins to look at incidents, there's nothing clear and obvious about that.
2.) 07 Apr 2025 09:57:04
Just to add, the game is called football so I think the foot should be used as the marker for offside. Not any other part of the body.
3.) 07 Apr 2025 10:20:09
Correct TBT.

A quick question on celebrating a goal. Doucoure got booked for celebrating in front of the away support. Does this mean that when teams play away from home, the players can't run around the edge of the pitch celebrating in front of the home support? Seen lots of players do it.
{Ed025's Note - fair point mate..
1.) 13 Feb 2025 10:51:06
Home ground. Should be allowed to celebrate wherever he want. Did salah only start celebrating infront of liverpool fans? No. He started celebrating as soon as he scored ( infrastructure of gwladys street end.
2.) 13 Feb 2025 11:19:06
Dacoure just got carried away with it all. But to be fair I wouldn't have been happy had that been one of their players doing the same to the street end.
3.) 13 Feb 2025 12:40:43
No issues really with the booking, if it's the rules andconsistent for everyone. Just doesn't seem to be.
Just thinking about hand to the ear running around the edge of the pitch.
4.) 13 Feb 2025 13:38:16
I personally think Doucs was out of order even though there was a fair bit of goading coming from the away fans. He deserved a second yellow. Jones escalated the whole thing with his actions and I’m surprised it wasn’t a straight red. The aggression started then - you can’t man handle another player like that in this day and age without a red card.
As for what Slot said (and his assistant), i think the ref had lost control of the situation. Don’t know what was said but surely it wasn’t much in the 3 seconds the exchange happened.
Saw an interesting stat that Liverpool committed 20 fouls to our 9 (not including Jones at the end). What was the card count in the end for both sides?

If Coleman is injured for the begining of the season, how about playing Garner at right back, Tim seems to have settled well in midfield.
1.) 11 Aug 2024 09:59:04
Not a bad shout. SD will likely go with Young though.
2.) 11 Aug 2024 20:30:22
Hope he doesn't play Young, last season Brighton targeted Young and gave him a right run around. Agree Garner could do a job there. But why not give Roman a go?
3.) 12 Aug 2024 10:12:01
Garner might not be fit for Brighton himself.
it'll be Young RB.

Great effort and commitment from the whole team yesterday in getting a 3rd win in 6 days. Size of our squad does not allow for rotation.
Wouldn't surprise me if on appeal we now get our 2 points back for this season and these are deferred to next season, where we start on -2 points.
Might be wise to pull the appeal.
1.) 28 Apr 2024 10:52:42
What?
2.) 28 Apr 2024 11:46:14
Ed002's note to dycheflysouth -------------You clearly don't understand the situation at all - keep your ignorant comments to yourself---------
3.) 28 Apr 2024 12:21:27
Maybe I didn't explain myself properly so sorry if it's come across like that.
My concern is the appeal against the 2 point penalty, I assume could go a number of ways. No change, keep the 2 point penalty this year. Reduced to 1 or maybe 0 points deduction. Or, I guess, and I don't really know this, it could be increased. I did read somewhere we had asked for the 2 points to be deferred until next year. My suggestion was just to pull the appeal and just accept the 2 points.
4.) 28 Apr 2024 13:02:24
Fair point tbt. But if we stay true to form we will probably start with a minus next season. ?.
5.) 28 Apr 2024 13:43:15
Good question.
No idea why DFS thinks you should keep your comments to yourself on a banter page.
6.) 28 Apr 2024 14:03:32
That comment of keep to yourself was not written by me.
{Ed002's Note - No it was written by me.}
7.) 28 Apr 2024 14:04:06
Me neither Bunnyman mate.
8.) 28 Apr 2024 18:08:17
More twaddle from DFS again.
9.) 28 Apr 2024 19:04:18
GB read above GB.

Seems like the FA will never admit fault to anything. Even though the ban for DCL has been removed, the red card stays on his record and any further red card this year will result in an extra days ban. Source of this info was talk sport. Does anyone know of this is just hearsay or if it's actually true. Wouldn't surprise me if it is!
1.) 11 Jan 2024 16:18:39
Just highlights how inept these people who run our game are.
2.) 11 Jan 2024 16:30:06
Common sense to me would be, if they overturn a red card ban, they should overturn the red card. Bit like saying we overturn your life sentence to freedom, but you are still a murderer.
3.) 11 Jan 2024 18:24:54
If it’s true then it’s more stupidity from the authorities. I would be surprised but not shocked. These people are idiots.

Understand and agree what you're saying Chris, but I worry the squad is stretched at the moment with injuries. Lose 2 or 3 more in certain positions and we're in trouble.
16 Aug 2024 09:56:55
Thanks Ed. Think we are all just wishing this mess would get sorted soon. Doesn't look like it though.
{Ed002's Note - These things take time with huge complications in the £1B debt the club has.}
16 Aug 2024 09:30:37
I wonder if Textor already has a buyer lined up for his Palace shares. Why would Moshiri give exclusivity to someone who is not in a position to buy the club yet. Then again!
{Ed002's Note - No, all he has right now is an unacceptable offer.}

Don't really understand the PSR rules, but if that is correct, they have better accountants than we have ?.

The only players I want to see us sign this transfer window are players who will likely be starters, not squad players. If that means keeping some of the players we ideally would like to leave, as back up, then I am ok with this, so long as the longer term plan is in place to get rid and improve our squad.
03 May 2025 17:47:15
I will give it a little wobble as I think it was the right decision short term. Not sure who could get a tune out of that team as we have a number of players not good enough to be competitive in the prem.
In my opinion, bringing in a manager who plays the attractive football we all want to see, needs to have the right tools to do the job.
16 Apr 2025 18:31:03
While I do agree that Dacoure isn't the future for us, I am a little concerned about the number of changes that are coming this summer. Forest have had a great season this year, but look at the mess they were in last year after buying so many players. I believe we probably do need to hold on to one or two players we would probably like to see gone, just to ensure we have a little bit of continuity going into next season when we gradually ease those players out.
Would keep Gana and probably Dacoure
And get rid of Harrison, Lindstrom, Broja, Keane. Retire Coleman (coaching team) and Young.
However, if we could get Mangala back, then let Dacoure go as Mangala knows the club. Would keep Alcaraz.
12 Apr 2025 17:21:05
Let's just enjoy the end of the season now. We all know changes are needed.
Never thought in January, that we would be safe with 6 or 7 games to go until the end of the season.
07 Apr 2025 09:57:04
Just to add, the game is called football so I think the foot should be used as the marker for offside. Not any other part of the body.
