"Everton linked with shock move for Alexis Sanchez"
What a load of utter, utter B*****Ks.
I have figured out my next career change i'm going to be a red top journalist apparently all you need is an good imagination and no regard for actual facts.
Sanchez will compliment Messi and Ronaldo nicely in our attack don't you think?

1.) 29 Oct 2017 13:56:51
I think he'd be an astute signing Al, there's not many players who are also fully qualified referees.

(Ok I know he's not really but he certainly thought he was last week)

2.) 29 Oct 2017 15:36:53
Yeah I noticed he kept marking out the 10 yards for the ref by standing in front of the ball at free kicks and walking backwards.

10 Oct 2017 02:24:10
Eds, its been rumoured Everton want to recall Henry Onyekuru in January, is this likely or even allowed?

{Ed002's Note - I would not think so. I can't see how he would qualify for a work permit.}

1.) 11 Oct 2017 00:27:29
Trying the special talent way in I think. can't see it happening tho.

{Ed002's Note - Ok, but it seems extremely odd.}

2.) 11 Oct 2017 09:20:10
I think it's the press having a slow day at the office they came up with this story just because he posted a pic of himself in Liverpool I mean imagine coming over to your parent club during a int break.

24 Aug 2017 14:24:02
This might have been posted already but the game against Hadjuk Split tonight is live on ITV4.

25 Jul 2017 11:49:22
Just read a story claiming Chelsea want Tom Davies what to you think the likelyhood of this happening?

1.) 25 Jul 2017 12:02:13
Better going for Neymars buy out as would be cheaper option mate.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 13:45:21
there is no way chelsea are after tom for this season if this is true they see him as a player for the future his career would go backwards if he left us now. imo he is in a progressive side his ambition has to be get in the first team and get a regular starting birth then go from there onwards and upwards so he is exactly where he needs to be. altho there is the story that stoke will pay 25 mill for the ox i guess this means he has said no to chelsea so they maybe after another english player who knows. what a joke the ox 25 gylfi 50 i know who i would rather buy.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 13:56:43
I' bet there are lots of clubs who would "want" several of our players - just as there are other clubs' players we "want". It has always been so. The difference these days is that we have money to keep our best players and we can afford to recruit quality players.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 15:04:52
Im curious floats I could be wrong but by that post your claiming you'd rather have Ox over Sig. this is a and of opinions mate, just wondering why gives u that conclusion u would take the ox over GS. Regarding assists goals minutes played injuries etc.

Or have I took your post the wrong way haha.

Everton the gear.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 15:37:12
your a little off on the queen's their mate, but if i understand you then an obvious answer is he is an all round better player in my opinion anything i post is my opinion unless i state it as a fact. i am in my fifties and probs move in different circles to you but if ox goes to stoke that would be a sin imo why are we not after such a well rounded mid player when we are willing to pay so much for a player who's statistics say he is quite one dimensional. futher more people seem to have forgotten that gylfi has had a chance to be in atop 4 team and wasn't good enough for poch' but he is good enough for efc fans that can't see past what they want. i am a born and bred efc fan and in no way is sigurdsson better than the ox who can play anywhere in the middle and if your asking me is gylfi worth this kind of investment in my opinion no he isn't but ox is because he is versatile pacey tricky and gets back and defends. so many efc fans are so prepared to over look gylfi's short comings to get him which we obviously will let's revisit this at the end of the season see who is right and who is wrong.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 16:03:12
id have the ox but not at the expense of gylfi he stat our way beyond the ox, the ox has not move on in the last few year gylfi is one of the best attack midfield in the league.

7.) 25 Jul 2017 16:46:35
Don't understand the point that Gylfi couldn't make it in a top 4 team when the comparison is Oxlaid chamberlain who can't get regular football in a top six team. I have seen plenty of Gylfi over the past few seasons and he is far from one dimensional. He has played all across the middle and up top. No surprise that he covered so much ground last season.

I agree the fee is shocking. But that's a money matter that I'm not concerned about as there are people employed by the club to make that judgement. I think he's a very good player who will contribute to goals, assists and will offer us a real threat from dead ball situations.

If oxlaid chamberlain was on the pitch enough to compare with those stats then we could drill down deeper to compare, but he wasn't so we'll never know.

8.) 25 Jul 2017 17:04:28
Floats. the way you keep saying minus sigurdsson deadballs his stats aren't the best. I think your missing the fact that deadballs are a massive part of a game of football and it would be of great benifit to Everton to have someone so good at deadballs.

9.) 25 Jul 2017 17:38:11
Isn't baines top notch at dead balls.

10.) 25 Jul 2017 18:20:21
David Beckham say no more.

11.) 25 Jul 2017 21:58:42
Floats I know football is a game of opinion, but you need a reality check. Sigs is far better than the overrated OX! . Sigs had carried the Swans for a number of seasons and is far more creative than OX. I remember Chelsea fans not rating Lampard and we know how that turned out.

12.) 25 Jul 2017 22:20:19
Completely agree floats it's a game of opinion an wasn't being patronising in any way I was curious on your opinion to why ox would be a better player than sig.

In my opinion Ox is a very exciting player but I don't really know his position an I don't think he does either is he a CM or a winger I'm not sure

But again "in my opinion" he is no where near the quality of GS. He's quick tricky like u say but for me not in the same league of individual quality of GS.

Also I don't think any ones age has much to do with comparing two modern day era players.

Was just after a general insight to see if u had good points that I hadn't thought of to why Ox would be a better choice than Sig.

Everton the gear.

13.) 25 Jul 2017 23:28:21
Couldn't be bothered even reading that. SIG ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

07 Jul 2017 14:32:07
Just read Lukaku was supposed to be back at Finch Farm yesterday but stayed in L. A and is ignoring Koeman's Phone Calls.
If this is true I wish we could cancel his transfer and throw him in the reserves for a year. I know that's never going to happen due to the huge transfer fee but it must have crossed their minds.

1.) 07 Jul 2017 15:07:54
I'll take the 90 million instead thanks.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 15:18:31
Fine the guy for not reporting back and donate the fine to Everton in the Community.

{Ed025's Note - good idea baz..

3.) 07 Jul 2017 15:44:40
Great idea.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 18:37:47
Probably done us a favour, given us a good precident to fine him, couple of weeks wages in fines actually will add up, he's gone anyway, who cares if it pisses him off. What's he on 70k? .

5.) 07 Jul 2017 19:44:44
Sticking points
EFC not moving. We want
75m upfront
Itd to pay agents fees/ loyalty bonus
Add ons not yet agreed.

6.) 07 Jul 2017 21:44:32
i doubt returning to finch farm for lukaku is the same as efc players returning he hasn't been an efc player for a while. (in his mind at least ) he has probs been told by the club not to bother the circus surrounding him at the mo would be a distraction. makes me wonder if ross is traning with the u23 where imo he belongs no space for players who don't want to be there also better for the player as well altho the bidding war that has broken out is great for us so excited to see who we end up with as his replacement. coyb.

7.) 07 Jul 2017 22:27:40
Don't know why you guys are actually surprised by this behaviour, the fella is a self centred arrogant person, not even going to moan about him, I wanted him gone last summer so we could have moved on from the whole circus surrounding him. The fella scores goals that I can't dispute, but that is it, he isn't a modern forward, he doesn't change games single handedly, has a poor first touch, was in the bottom 3 players in the league last season for pass completion, covered less ground than 35 year old Ibrahimovic and made less sprints than Ibrahimovic, we all know as Evertonians who have watched our play be adapted to his strengths and also how he has gone missing in big games against big strong class defenders, if we get £75m we will be the winners in the deal as we will have sold a disrespectful player for a handsome profit.
Remember we are Everton and we will always be bigger than any player.

Just realized we are actually now mathematically safe from relegation with Southampton's draw the other night so Now Allardyce has no excuse for any negative tactics, let's see what we get on Monday night.

1.) 20 Apr 2018 23:15:06
I don't think they'll be any changes if there's no injuries Al same team same tactics not looking forward to Monday night.

2.) 21 Apr 2018 07:31:53
his first thought will be don't lose so Newcastle don't go ahead of us i really feel for Tosun he has gone from beskitas who play attacking football to the crap Sam has us playing just what he is meant to to up top on his own baffles me the sooner Sam is shown the door the better.

3.) 21 Apr 2018 09:59:40
I'd be happy to play it safe, get this season out of the way in a ok ish position, those few places we could drop is probably worth a few million. pay sam off with it and start again.

4.) 21 Apr 2018 10:43:19
I see the rest of the season as something of a watershed. On truth our season is done. We will play nobody who would remotely justify negativity. It is time for Allardyce to show that he is capable of setting up as side which is at least attempting to play and not just stop.

5.) 21 Apr 2018 12:26:10
Never going to happen. He doesn't understand anything but 'avoid defeat'

20 Apr 2018 19:41:24
I bet Walcott is bricking it, he left Arsenal primarily because Wenger wouldn't play him although I guess there's not too many better options than Theo at present.

1.) 20 Apr 2018 21:11:18
Why would Walcott be bricking it. Wenger isn't coming to us. If he joined any club especially in the Premiership he instantly loses all respect and legend status from Arsenal. Wenger is nearly 70. Surely he's wanting some down time playing golf or whatever he enjoys and surely the stress of it all is something he can do without.

I bet Arsenal have offered him a brilliant package to retire now and sit on the board.
If I was Wegner and they didn't. I think I would actually cry. He's given his life to Arsenal. If I'm right the Arsenal should have the decency to announce him and stop any stupid rag publishing utter shite about him considering, in talks or anything linking him to another club. Just isn't happening.

2.) 21 Apr 2018 00:01:19
it was meant as a joke with all the Wenger to Everton talk. Jeez.

15 Jan 2018 05:09:15
Personally I think we need to forget about the style of play we have at the moment points are more important that style of play unless people would be happy with an attacking style and relegation I would rather get the points to safeguard our prem status and start again next year and I would rather finish 8th than 7th even if it were possible as I don't think starting so early again next season would do us any favours.

{Ed001's Note - do you not think you would have more points if you had actually tried venturing out of your own half? You have lost the last 4 games in a row, how would making an attempt to win them have been any worse than rolling over meekly for Spurs to give you a kicking, for instance?}

1.) 15 Jan 2018 05:39:19
Correct ed best form of defence is attack.

2.) 15 Jan 2018 07:36:40
Yesterday a team with a not so good defence beat the run away league leaders by attacking them, this team conceded 3 goals and won the game because they scored 4, don't mean to sound patronising but its simple, if you score more than your opponent you win the game, we can't win games by sitting deeper than the cutlery on the titanic, we need to start with a midfield of attacking players and actually play 2 up top and go at teams, if we concede so be it, we are conceding now anyways and offering nothing at the other end, so what have we got to lose?

{Ed001's Note - I like that comparison to the cutlery mate, made me chuckle that one.}

3.) 15 Jan 2018 07:42:10
Have to agree with Ed001 and Eddy. You can't win games if you don't try. We need to grow some and at least have a go at teams instead of sitting back and hoping we don't concede. Sam needs to pick the best players and play them in their correct positions. He can't moan about a lack of pace when he leaves players with that pace on the bench. No other team in the league fears playing us at the moment and I don't blame them. We are clueless toothless and quite honestly it's embarrassing to watch.

4.) 15 Jan 2018 08:09:56
Got to have a sense of humour Ed001 especially as I'm an Evertonian.

{Ed001's Note - good point. Though I think a few months more of Allardyce will be enough to test that to breaking point, if he doesn't stop being so negative. I really thought he would see this as an opportunity to show he can play pretty football too.}

5.) 15 Jan 2018 08:11:13
Conventional wisdom says 40 pts is safe. On that basis we have 15 games to garner 13 pts. That's 4 wins and a draw or 3 wins and 4 draws or even 2 wins and 7 draws. I would be anxious about the 2 wins option as it smacks of a defensive set up and the ability of those tactics to return something from 9/ 15 games worries me. The least nerve wracking route is 4 wins 1 draw. For that you need a positive result from only 5/ 15 games. Surely not too much to ask if we actually try to win.

6.) 15 Jan 2018 10:40:32
Everyone can see it. Most could foresee it. Ed01 is spot on. And was spot on when B. S. was in talks to take the helm. This is a knee jerk reaction.
Yes the club were naive in the summer. First ever time being able to afford to play with the big agents and get on sky sports daily.
I know the diehards hated RK for his love of Barcelona and they didn't like his arrogance. But he wouldn't stand for this tripe were getting served up at the moment.
I think Moshiri must be looking at the back of Bills head and contemplating pushing him down one of the stands. Bill compromised the club as too SW by pushing for B. S. Moshiri la, go get us a modern manager in the summer pal.
Hopefully a few of the G's who post here in the B. S. appreciation club can stop their embarrassing support of this dinosaur. #givemebackmyclub.

7.) 15 Jan 2018 13:07:08
Bluegray87 what you say is true but tell me what team ever won with the philosophy we'll score more than you?

No one that I can think of. One game you single out there. Liverpool won the battle but are going to lose the war. Before that game Man City had 14 goals against this season!

That's why they are going to win the premiership. That game was a blip for Man City. One which they can well afford because they are defensively sound. Despite losing that one game. No one else can afford to have that blip like Man City can.

They are defensively sound which will mean they will win competitions. Just like any other team that wins trophies. Main reason Mourinho won so much is because his teams know how to defend.

Liverpool are a very good attacking team. No doubt about it but they won't win anything until they sort their defense out. If they do that they will be a force to be reckoned with.

8.) 15 Jan 2018 13:25:34
Suggesting Farhad murder poor old Bill is a bit OTT MyTeam, especially in such a public arena 😂😂.

9.) 15 Jan 2018 14:22:31
Pains me to say NBTB but Liverpool are only probably a decent keeper away from being serious title contenders and yesterday was not a one blip they have been scoring for fun and pressured the city back line into mistakes, we could never do that as we don't have men in the opposition half!
I want to see us attack and if we concede so be it at least go out on your sword.
City are not as good defensively as they are made out to be and have shown that the last 3 games.

10.) 15 Jan 2018 15:18:04
Ok he needs to fiddle a few more quid from his Russian mate and buy Bill out.

11.) 15 Jan 2018 21:11:26
Hey Bluegray87. Fair enough. It was City I was referring with the blip. 14 goals conceded before the game. They are sound defensively.

12 Jan 2018 02:40:16
I have a question that ed002 could possibly answer. I have read today an article about Chelsea's new stadium which is estimated to be 60,000 seater and it is claimed will cost around 1 Billion to build looking at it from outside with little to no real understanding of how the costing works how is their stadium going to cost 500 mil more than ours will cost considering ours should be a similar sort of build in regards to capacity and transport links.
cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea's planned stadium will not linkely be ready until 2024 but it is a far more complex situation than Everton's as the old stadium needs to be removed, there is land to be recovered that is currently part of the railway system and needs relocating and all of that adds up. I am not aware of the club saysing what the costs will be but a figure discussed wilth a third party was rather less than £1B. The stadium will also be very high end and again that costs money to do. Whether or not the re-instate the very nice music venue under the stadium or not is unclear, but I suspect not.}

1.) 12 Jan 2018 11:27:46
As well as what ed has said, I would imagine that building in London (especially large structures) would cost a lot more than to build it up north anyway.

2.) 12 Jan 2018 13:44:43
Try buying a three bedroom house. I rented a flat for three months, cost me £320 a week.

3.) 13 Jan 2018 02:05:06
Thanks for that ed002 I got the 1 Billion from BBC article I'm glad there's other reasons for the extra cost other than quality of the stadium as I'm hoping we will have one of the best in the country if not Europe.

{Ed002's Note - The Spurs stadium is beginning to look impressive and thei plans for the movable pitch are innovative.}

04 Jan 2018 09:53:36
Looking like Tosun won't be signing before the weekend so who do you guys want to start on Friday?

1.) 04 Jan 2018 11:06:43
That many differing reports re Tosun I guess we'll just have to wait and see if he's registered in time. I'd like to see a bit more of an attacking side than we have lately with maybe both DCL and Oumar up top, but no doubt Sam will field a defensive negative team and hope for a win by luck more than endeavour or if not a draw and a replay.

{Ed002's Note - He cannot be registered before he has passed a medical, signed a contract and obtained International clearance. That won't be done before midday.}

2.) 04 Jan 2018 11:20:05
Is it not midday Friday Ed002, or are you still thinking it would still take that long?

3.) 04 Jan 2018 11:26:35
Fair enough Ed002 👍.

I have a particular dislike for Pardew since he said Newcastle were operating on a different level to us a few years back (pretty sure we then beat them 3-0 next game :D)

Even if we could it would only be until January and it will take two months to get him match fit so we will only have him for 2 month playing time. Good player but won't really help us that much.

I would think there is blame on both sides, in fact no, blame is not the right word, both sides want the best deal they can get and that is perfectly reasonable IMO.

Isn't that the same Kalinic who played for Blackburn? I don't remember him doing much for them but to be fair I haven't seen much of him since then so he could have improved.

I think booing is ok at the end of a game when the team or individual has not put the effort in but to boo someone coming on to the field is absolutely pathetic and I felt embarrassed sitting in Goodison today when that happened. On a brighter note I thought the whole team performed great today and i'd like to make special mention of Martina who as we all know has had a tough time at left back but I thought he was excellent today.
enjoy it blues we deserved everything we got today long may it continue.

{Ed025's Note - cracking post AL and i was going to mention martina myself, a decent footballer who is being played out of position but gives 100% all the time, i have given some of our players hell over the years and a lot of times over the top, but have never in all my years of attending goodison (or any other ground come to that) booed my own players mate..
