We've been linked now to Barios of Colombia. As he saw fit to head but Henderson for no reason he should fit right in and do for me.

1.) 16 Jul 2018 17:41:25
Thought he was off to Spurs?

2.) 16 Jul 2018 18:32:37
make him Captain!

05 Apr 2016 21:33:16
Baines says there no sense of togetherness in the dressing room for 2 years. Watch out for an announcement he is injured for the weekend. He will get exiled like Eto and Distin for speaking out against RM.

1.) 05 Apr 2016 22:07:45
Difference is he made it public. Bit obvious for Martinez to make him 'injured' after him going so public with it.

Plus Baines has been at the club a long time and dare I say a more senior figure than they other two players you mention. Maybe more players will back Baines and it may or hopefully will be the beginning of the end for Martinez.

2.) 05 Apr 2016 22:08:24
Yes I believe you as I believe that Martinez is a vindictive arrogant dictator and not the nice guy most think he is.
What has happened to Osman, Piennar, what happened to Distan.
He will come on the radio and tell you a player is one of the best then drop him, it has happened with all these players including Baines, oh yes Eto as well.
Baines is a true blue that is for certain.

3.) 06 Apr 2016 00:32:37
Baines said there's no chemistry. There's a bit difference between chemistry and togetherness.

4.) 06 Apr 2016 09:33:15
It would be fitting if at the next home game the fans give Baines an extra big cheer for coming out and saying what he did. The board must take notice. That is if he is selected or "injured".

5.) 06 Apr 2016 11:08:22
I hate to say it but Leighton has some guts and has put himself on the line.
i have been saying for months on here we MUST take pro active action like me not renewing my season ticket if evryone did it board would have to have acted.
I have been criticised being told I not true fan having supported them since in short trousersin 59! .
Even true fans and loyal can only stand so much.
A dog may be loyal but if you kick it enough it will bite back.

06 Jul 2014 22:36:44
Dutch press saying we have agreed a fee for Dusan Tadic and have beaten Southampton to sign him

1.) 07 Jul 2014 06:26:06
I highly doubt it

2.) 07 Jul 2014 08:03:56
I also highly doubt it. He won't come cheap and they have far more financial muscle than us.

3.) 07 Jul 2014 08:29:13
This was actually in the Sunday people yesterday, how accurate it is I don't know because it WAS the the Sunday people. I'd like it to be true though, fee of around 8-9 million being reported which I'd like to think we could afford!.

4.) AB1878, they actually have debts that dwarf ours

5.) 07 Jul 2014 10:31:52
But that doesn't stop them from spending more than we do! Everywhere is reporting that the deal for him to go there is practically done, anyway. Shame, he's an excellent player

6.) Hope so just checked him out as I knew nowt about him and looks a class act.

7.) Not sure if this means anything but they are reporting the same thing on the southampton site as well.

22 Jan 2014 22:28:13
Falcao suffered horrific knee injury tonight and may even miss the World Cup, could be that Monaco may now cancel any deal for Traore if they feel they need him now.

Marca.com in Spain say we are on trail of Jeffren Suarez, midfielder/winger for Sporting Lisbon. Ex Barca youngster. Heard anything Eds? {Ed025's Note - no rick..

While agree a cup win would be great I wouldn't say the top 6 aren't bothered with them. In the last 10 seasons they have won both cups 8 times between them, once they get to the quarters they field their first teams.

1.) 18 Aug 2018 07:31:21
I agree ricktee but that is also testimony as to the strength of squads the top 6 have. ie they can all virtually have 2 teams that would probably end up no lower than 12th in the Premiership. They usually play some second string players or kids in the earlier rounds yet still progress through the competition.

07 Aug 2018 10:42:29
I agree we need at least 1 more CB but I wouldn't give up on Keane yet. For most of last season he had to play with Williams on his right and Martina on his left. It's hardly surprising he got caught out of position and exposed sometimes trying to cover for those 2.1 too slow and not bothered and the other out of position and not good enough although must say the lad did st least try to put a shift in.

1.) 07 Aug 2018 15:10:48
I agree.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 15:25:20
Tell me Ricktee, what do you see that I don't?
I'm struggling to see anything he can do well. Maybe he can score headers but, other than that i see an average defender playing less than averagely.

I would love him to come good but I just don't see it.

26 Jul 2018 10:22:25
What do we think would be progress this season? I won't worry about positions but would be satisfied with 10-12 more points and 15-20 ore goals and see where that takes us. A decent cup run would be good but that depends on the draw and not getting a top 5 early on like last season.

1.) 26 Jul 2018 10:38:50
Flowing and attacking football Ricktee. That's what I'd see as progress as surely the results will follow.

{Ed025's Note - im the same reason..

2.) 26 Jul 2018 12:27:44
What I want us to do and what I expect us to do are different.
I want us to finish at least 7th, win a domestic cup, qualify for Europe, and see a younger, energetic, committed team playing entertaining football.
I expect a top-half finish and definite progression towards successful football.

13 Jul 2018 10:59:57
Keep reading we need to sign back up for certain positions. Well we don't, we need players to replace those who underperformed for 9 months last season and let them either step up or be the back up.

1.) 13 Jul 2018 11:45:17
Any signing referred to as back up would naturally be expected to provide competition for places. One and the same thing for me.

{Ed025's Note - me too ace mate..

04 Jul 2018 20:55:34
Just like to point out a toffee saved a red from getting 4 years abuse from the nation.

1.) 05 Jul 2018 00:11:20
And now he says he's forever in Pickford's debt. You know it Henderson. I was gutted for him though because I thought he played well.
Where's everyone's attitude with England getting to the final. Talking to people I find a lot don't think we can and too many people saying they just don't care. It's good to see us actually trying.

2.) 05 Jul 2018 08:16:18
For years we played with traditional old English defenders who were not comfortable on the ball. To be fair, that was all we had after years of defenders being brought through youth systems that taught them that the way to defend was to do it carefully and if under pressure clear the ball. We had Lampard and Gerrard in midfield who worked their socks off coming back to help out. Consquently, in most games against decent opposition, we would defend and defend deeper and deeper and when we eventually won possesion of the ball would clear it to the half way line whereby the ball was given back to the opposition and the cycle of defending began again. Todays coaches are teaching the new generation of defenders how to play football in defence. Players like John Stones and Harry Maguire and Trippier and Walker are all very good footballers and very comfortable on the ball. If you watch how we are happy to pass the ball across the back 4/ 5 and even include the keeper, until we draw the opposition out of position, it is clearly a big change from the old style of Phil Jones type muscular defenders who are not so happy on the ball. It comes from the coach having the balls to change things and John Stones is central to this. I love it and want it at Everton. We will see what develops this season.

The way he sets his teams up make Pulis look adventurous.
He may get a few good results but he ground would be half empty through boredom by xmas.

Hoarau looked a handful but I don't think we should be looking to sign another 31 year old

{Ed025's Note - he is a free agent rick, so would not be much of a gamble i expect mate..

For Marco to build his own team will take at least 3 Windows so 2 that he wants now is good. Any more will be a bonus. 2 or 3 each window will probably be the norm. Look at last summer 6 in and only Pickford a real hit while Sigurdson and Keane have the jury still out if you read here regularly. Too many in at once causes disruption, we did it Palace QPR and Sunderland have done the same over the past few seasons, watch how the Hammers fare now as they have done the same this summer. Unless you have bottomless pockets like Chelsea and City had in the past ├Čt just doesn't work so we need some of that patience everyone said they had 6 weeks ago.

Think we tried too many square pegs in round holes last season and look what happened.
