And there it is 09.50 16/ 5/ 18 big Sam finally gone now let's enjoy the summer.

1.) 16 May 2018 10:37:05
Fantastic news mate.

2.) 16 May 2018 10:38:59
Would like to add, thank you BS for your 7 months in charge. You got us out of a troubled situation. And got us to finish 8th. Which would have been a dream for most of us at the point he picked up the team. But he isn't the type of manager to get us to the next stage. Push into the top 4. Looks a bit of a pipe dream looking at at how we played in comparison to the those above us. I am now excited again for next year now that BIG Sam has gone and rumoured with some big (ish) names. Silva would be a great signing. My preferred choice would be Fonseca. But silva is who I wanted 7 months ago. So I would be very happy with him. Who ever it is: let's GET BEHIND HIM AND let's GET BACK TO THE TOP WHERE WE BELONG! Could be the last few seasons in goodison park, let's make it shake!

3.) 16 May 2018 13:26:22
I think you hit the nail on the head EFC. SA was the manager needed at the time to stabilize the team and stave of relegation fears. No, it was not pretty, but it worked.

To progress the club's aspirations and achieve European football and hunt silverware will take a whole new management team and front office. This is happening.

1. Thank you Big Sam, Little Sam, and company for helping the club. I wish you fellows well.

2. Let us name a DOF and manager soon so we can plan for next season and make proper targeted acquisitions.

3. And get behind whomever Mr. Mo hires and support the club.

4.) 16 May 2018 13:35:42
I thought out of them all Sammy Lee at least tried to get the players moving forward and gave his best shot, cannot fault his enthusiasm or determination so on that I hope Little Sam all the best in his future.

5.) 16 May 2018 14:37:52
It's a shame they never announced it earlier, to get rid of the negative atmosphere. I would of stayed past the final whistle to give the 2 Sams a clap and good send off. Sam did the job asked of him.
Now we need to start a new project and hope it's more successful this time.

10 May 2018 20:46:15
Phil McNulty don't know how reliable but has stated that Brands and a new CEO are on there way into the club with Sam's future in the balance apparently lots going on behind the scenes at the club like I said don't know how reliable.

10 May 2018 13:21:13
Just had a notification on my phone from Sky saying Rooney has agreed to join DC United if true will wish him well . I know he was unsure about his future and the Sam will he or won't he I wonder if he's heard what is happening next season.

1.) 10 May 2018 13:49:20
That's what I'm worried about, I hope this doesn't mean he knows Sam is staying. Think the move makes sense for both parties but you'd think he'd wait a bit longer if he thought a new manager was coming in.

2.) 10 May 2018 13:50:55
any bitter feeling as he leaves again Lee? realised times are tougher than he thought and jumped ship? or genuinely just wants to play football?

3.) 10 May 2018 14:41:29
I think he just wants to play football and knows he will be a bit part player so good luck to him if it's true brands is coming in he wants young pacey players and unfortunately Rooney doesn't fit into that.

4.) 10 May 2018 14:53:43
I think he wants to play football wblue and good on him think he still has something to give on the pitch so I think the MLS will benefit from him being there. We got him back for a season and i'm glad I got to see him in a blue kit again even though it wasn't the Rooney of old once a blue always a blue.

03 May 2018 09:44:38
Rumours today that Henry Onyekuru's loan deal is being extended by another season, I was personally looking forward to seeing him in a blue shirt next season, definitely better than Bolasie just don't understand this one.

1.) 03 May 2018 10:44:02
100% agree with you on this one. He was one of the very few reasons in which we can be showing some optimism for next season.

Looks a cracking player, likely has mistakes in him, but I know for certain I would rather see the lad try some audacious football, fail on occasion but eventually become successful with it!

All we need now is a manager willing to give game time to players like him.

2.) 03 May 2018 11:45:06
does it have anything to do with his work permit? only thing i can think of.

3.) 03 May 2018 11:46:31
Maybe a work permit issue?

4.) 03 May 2018 12:14:08
If he is selected for and plays for Nigeria in the World Cup, then that’d probably sort out the work permit issue.
Probably more a case that he isn’t wanted by Allardyce and he’ll be another young talent (like Lookman) who’ll leave us under this manager and will become a success elsewhere.
How depressing is it - not only watching Everton at present, but also the prospect of it not improving under Allardyce?
Who the **** is running our club? What’s the direction? Why’s there no clarity? Where’s the goddam leadership?

5.) 03 May 2018 12:15:20
I think he needs to play every game in the world cup to have a chance of qualifying for a permit.
Although you can apply under exceptional circumstances, maybe if we tell whoever makes the decision that Bolasie is our only other player in his position then that would qualify as an exceptional circumstance.

6.) 03 May 2018 15:23:55
Don't know about anyone else but I am just getting really ****ed off with all the negativity and blame been thrown at SA. Okay so some of you really hate the bloke but why post quite frankly nonsensical statements about how much control he has over every aspect and ruining every thing about EFC. Like others before me and no doubt others in the future I'm taking a break from posting as trying to have a sensible debate on here is at the moment pointless.

{Ed025's Note - i think there is a lot of negativity sa and that is mainly due to the uncertainty of the managers position, hopefully it will get sorted soon and we can be positive again and look forward to next season mate, my advice would be to just ignore the posts you find irksome rather than not post..

7.) 03 May 2018 16:20:27
The question isn’t about how much control SA may or may not have, BUT who is actually in control and making the decisions - ‘cause there’s no unity, clarity, direction or leadership appearing from the heirarchy (FM. BK, etc. ) .

8.) 04 May 2018 04:16:45
SA90 I don't agree with most of your posts but welcome a different view being expressed. we are probably both blessed with 20/ 20 hindsight and a C- in foresight
Don't stop posting. We are all trying to be objective but see it from different angles.
I hope one day (soon I hope) we will have a manager we can both get behind and be on here with hope in our hearts, not arguing the toss over Big Sam.

28 Apr 2018 23:14:50
Interesting quote from Alan Shearer on MOTD if the fans don't want Sam then he won't be there next season. he doesn't know our owners then.

Richarlson first start for Brazil and 2 goals yes it was against El Salvador but we can see why we paid the money we did can't wait till hoes on the pitch for us again.

1.) 12 Sep 2018 13:20:43
Good player mate.

16 Jun 2018 17:16:40
Just watching the Peru Vs Denmark game couple of decent Peru players one apparently Silva had at Watford. Hope all the blues are enjoying the world cup with that eye on what's happening with at our club.

1.) 16 Jun 2018 18:08:01
Carillo u mean one silva meant to have said when I get everton job I take u with me.

2.) 16 Jun 2018 18:16:22
Is that the one bretto he's having a very good game causing problems for Denmark, despite the penalty miss I'm liking watching Peru.

3.) 16 Jun 2018 22:59:07
Yeah he started well why for Watford why silva was there but when silva left went of boil. Also played for silva at sporting but then left for benfica.

4.) 17 Jun 2018 08:26:51
Bretto Carillo and Ricarlson both went off after Silva left. Can't quite put my finger on it but Carillo (spelling) didn't quite cut it for me watching him. For me he was running down blind alley's with his movement. Felt for the young lad who missed the penalty, I suppose if you are going to miss, then do it in style.

5.) 17 Jun 2018 09:45:16
Yeah I'm not biggest fan of him either think he average. Think we will go after lozono. But think mirallas and maybe bolaise/ look man will have to go first think look man will go want him to stay but just have feeling he go.

01 Jun 2018 07:22:39
Well here it is the 1st June we have our new manager, Brands officily starts work today (though I'm sure he's been working behind the scenes since we got him) and the new board members are in place.
I'm very happy with all the appointments if they all gel we have a fantastic future ahead, of course it will take time and that's what we need to give them we need to get behind everyone now and support our great club back to were it belongs.
We need to let Brands and Silva build a team we can be proud of ( including Seamus as Captain) there may be a few blips on the way but we need to forget any negativity now, we've got we wanted in Sam going and I'm sure they have both looked at the squad and have decided already were to strengthen and who we can release.
I'm looking forward to the summer now and can't wait for the first game back at Goodison (Valencia I think) so we can show our support and let them know we are behind them on what they are trying to achieve.

1.) 01 Jun 2018 09:56:28
Get in Lee. I can't wait for all this to start. I'm excited with the new structure and to see how they do.

You're bang on now with getting behind this team. No matter what happened this summer supporting whoever is there was so important. We have to shed this old skin and come back this new season with optimism and hope. Every team that succeeds is when you are all pulling together.

As long as we see an improvement in the footballing side and progress being made then we should back this manager, staff and players.

2.) 01 Jun 2018 12:38:19
Two excellent posts. I’m proper up for the season ahead.

COYB. Better not Bitter.

3.) 01 Jun 2018 15:06:19
I feel like a teenager again. I'm sick of being in misery like the last 7 months and while we have some good news I'm going to bloody enjoy it.

What's the use in continuing to moan when if we allow ourselves to dream little we might just get a little happiness.

If it doesn't work out we can always go back to being miserable bastards again.

COYB. Better not bitter (Get that hash tagged mate)

4.) 01 Jun 2018 18:44:53
I'm still devastated about SA not being here next season, oh wait that was just a nightmare, looking forward to next season and a fitter better more attack minded Everton.

09 May 2018 08:54:09
So apparently today we are willing to match Wenger's £8 million a year contract or we are going for Conceicao from Porto we are willing to double his £1.7 million contract and pay his release clause. I think Wenger would do well for us and give us stability don't know anything about Conceicao other than he's just taken Porto to their first Championship in 4 years.

1.) 09 May 2018 09:31:22
Wenger has been a great manager but I emphasise has. I'm not convinced he is the man to lead Everton for the next 3-5 years. He is how old? He hasn't proven he can work with a young second in charge. Vierra, Henry and Arteta all had to leave Arsenal.

To me, it is a thanks but no thanks

The other, never heard of him.

{Ed025's Note - im with you bw..

2.) 09 May 2018 10:26:17
Agree with you BW I know Wenger would give us stability but it's not a long term plan due to his age I think it's his premiership experience that everyone is going to get hooked on. I think moving forward we need to look at the likes of Fonseca or Conceicao and give them time to put their mark the team but we will have to wait and see who knows Sam maybe here for another season 😔.

3.) 09 May 2018 12:01:57
I would accept a younger Manager as well Lee mate, but with so many fickle fans on here. Not sure they would accept a period of time, some want instant success mate, but as we know mate that's not going to happen.

4.) 09 May 2018 12:21:30
bring wenger in with arteta, that would be an ambitious move.

5.) 09 May 2018 12:33:32
I know GB we need to give someone time I just think with all the uncertainty at the club at the moment it's getting to us fans so much, let's get a manager who excites us give him time to put his mark on the club and and get behind him, of course we will have bad games (not as many as this season I hope) but fingers crossed the future will get sorted after the last game.

6.) 09 May 2018 12:56:35
Same as. that Lee mate hope it's Big SAMs last game for us on Sat fingers and everything else crossed mate.

7.) 09 May 2018 14:02:26
GuernseyBlue, I think you are right that some of our fans would not accept a perion of time "developing" the club. However, I would add that my "limited" experience in football tells me that very rarely does a team come together and have success. It usually takes years of planning and a whole lot of luck. I also can see the weaknesses of our squad that I have pointed out many times. My conclusion is that there are going to be a lot of angry disappointed Bluess over the next couple of seasons unless we have a huge great chunk of luck. Maybe in 4 or 5 seasons we could achieve something. built over years as Spurs are doing. but even Leicester City could not sustain the one off season they had. and we need the slower Spurs style of growth.

8.) 09 May 2018 14:39:59
Hear you on that degsy!

We set up a team three years ago which was our old squad from when we were kids, 10 years since we last played together.

First season we didn’t get relegated only due to our goal difference being slightly better than the two teams below.

Second season together, same team, same gaffer, same ground, we won the league and dropped 4 points all season!

Football is a weird and wonderful thing.

9.) 09 May 2018 17:23:23
Yeah JDE. I remember us dominating in 1984 and for the next 3 years! We were pretty inconsistent in the 3 years prior to 84.yet with the same team more or less. We tended to start seasons slow and then build up steam. But even in 84 this was true. But we climbed the table, won the FA Cup and then the following season were like a train from the first game. Weird.

10.) 09 May 2018 17:29:29
I want a european manager first choice, but to be fair learning the EPL can take time. I would take Wenger for 12 months as a guiding hand for a new manager.

If not european, then someone like Dyche or Howe who has the EPL experience but, needs his skills honing to top 6 mentality. Again Wenger for 12 months as a guiding hand would be ok for me.

I myself would offer to be a guiding hand. to help Sam and his boys on their way out :-)

11.) 09 May 2018 17:35:38
100% correct there degsy mate.

12.) 09 May 2018 18:26:17
All the top 6 teams average a manager every 2 seasons over the last 10 years.
Chelsea 11
Man city 5
Man u 5
Liverpool 4
Tottenham 5
Arsenal 1

Chelsea average a manager every 0.9 seasons but have still managed to win 3 prem titles, 3 fa cups, 1 champions league, 1 Europa cup and 1 league cup.

Arsenal average 1 manager every 20 years and have won 3 FA cups in the last 10 years.

Chelsea have a technical director which keeps the recruitment going whoever is in charge. Why can't we with the right DOF.

13.) 09 May 2018 20:42:29
It does appear that the short term manager syndrome delivers the most productive results Smitt. I have said for a long time now, develop your system and get people in to work it, get players in who fit the system. The least disruption gives the most efficient output. We don't want a long term manager here. We want winners who are greedy for success, come in and work the system, win trophies and then move on. If they are a success then we are a success. Managers like to go where success is. Next manager please.

14.) 09 May 2018 21:46:22
I agree to a point but we've got to stop talking "long term" it doesn't excist much beyond 2 years. So with that said why not? He's big enough shoulders to put up with our crap, he will not hit his own high level but the level he'd hit is much higher than ours currently.

In 2 or 3 years he can step away with us banging around the top6 or more realistically, hitting 65+ pts.
Perfect for the big name we are too small to attract today. He would also beat BS in attracting players.

Sure he's been in decline but a lot of that has been boardroom as much as him. He still plays a much better brand of football.

Basically it all seems to hinge, for fans, on long term plans. We know the long term plan. It's stadium and top 4. There! That's it. I've said it before, once Wenger leaves next week, Howe will be the longest serving Prem manager. In a decade people will be amazed at a coach who makes 5 years. The length if the appointment is immaterial so long as the direction is right.

A he won't come up north.
B doubt he'd take another Prem job.
So all pointless really.
Stop being greedy.

01 May 2018 22:40:48
Hope all you guys are keeping an eye on the end of season award ceremony and the comments from Sam and especially Bill.

1.) 02 May 2018 05:49:11
From what I've read so far little comment from Bill or Sam on next season which I think is good.

No promises from Bill along the same lines as the promise to Koeman and Walsh 'If you want a player in close season we'll get them for you'

Very little I can see from Sam except thanks for being invited

All in all encouraging for those of us who want change.

2.) 02 May 2018 09:59:06
Sam busy flogging tickets outside. He bought hundreds and is hoping to double his money.

Marcel has worked wonders GB bet he's been working 24/ 7 since he arrived, think he has been our most important signing then comes Marco with all the backroom staff who in my opinion have improved the structure, fitness and morale of the team.

Got to say GB haven't been unimpressed with him this season think him and Holgate could have found a good partnership together, got to be Zouma now against Rotherham and Bernard for Richarlson.
Lot of stick from fans towards Seamus after yesterday's game we are very fickle after everything has been through and the performances he's had would much rather see him have the armband and see Digne on for Baines.

He got a lot of game time pre season but don't think he really took his chance and with I'd say Walcott cementing his place at Right wing, Tosun up front and Bernard to come in we don't really need him.

Good that all the guys could get a run out Mina, Gomes and Jimmy Mac going to be strength in depth soon quite a headache for Silva to have but a positive one.

Good post Jacamo be interesting to see how Gomes does I was so looking forward to seeing Bernard and I think he looks like an amazing signing, like you say with him Richarlson and Walcott running at defences we could beat most teams and start to move up the table.

Definitely agree GB nice football was abit worried when they scored before half time, just watched sigs goal a few times and Bernard should be one of the first names on the team sheet after the performances he's been putting in, we just need to kick on now get a steady team and see how high we can go.

Cheers BB, and yes totally agree defence is shocking keane came with a good reputation but think we could have got better for what we paid we need a settled team one that we can pick week in week out and think we will see some decent results, still think we need a striker.
