Hi Eds,

Is the Alfie Mawson interest genuine or more paper bollocks?

Think he is a very underrated centre half. Great replacement for the ageing Jags.

JMW1878

{Ed025's Note - i like him JMW but dont see him as a priority in this window mate..

1.) 07 Jan 2018 14:29:45
I like ben mee jmw. Think we should have got him instead of keane.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 17:47:44
Cheers Ed.

Yeah agree there Bluetooh - have a mate who is a Dingle and said the same thing. Like the other bloke they have got as well - Tarkowski.

I still think its a position that definitely needs addressing for us (if we want to challenge the so called elite anyway)

3.) 07 Jan 2018 20:04:03
Agree mate.

4.) 08 Jan 2018 16:14:59
Harry Maguire from Leicester looks a player!

05 Jan 2018 09:40:08
Hi Eds,

Reading that we could possibly target another striker as well as Tosun.

Is this likely or a load of bollocks?

If so, are you privy to who MAY be on the list?

Nice one.

JMW1878

{Ed002's Note - I cannot see that can happen withoutr someone leaving. We know Everton has shown an interest in Hirving Lozano (won't happen), Richmond Boakye (heading elsewhere) and Karl Toko Ekambi (possible still). I could give you a left winger as a wildcard in Arda Turan but that is pretty much it I can think of right now JMW.}

1.) 05 Jan 2018 09:51:20
Fair to say Sandro may leave either permanently or on loan?

{Ed002's Note - Sevilla would like him.}

2.) 05 Jan 2018 10:01:18
On a permanent deal Ed?

{Ed002's Note - He has no future at Everton having been misused. So yes.}

3.) 05 Jan 2018 10:39:21
Shame. There's a player in there. Shown it at Malaga.

4.) 05 Jan 2018 11:54:12
Sam said in his interview yesterday his recommendation is no loans only sales as I'm guessing he wants to trim the squad.

5.) 05 Jan 2018 15:43:56
Cheers for the answer Ed. Appreciated mate.

Cant believe we aren't trying to get Michy in from Chelsea, with this Ross deal going through. They have already come out and said they don't want him.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea have not saud they don't want him.}

6.) 05 Jan 2018 16:29:27
Arda Turan would be sensational for us. You tease ed.

02 Jan 2018 19:46:34
Hi Eds,

What is the current situation with Grameiro?

I am a bit puzzled why we aren't going after him if he is surplus to requirements for Atleti.

He is by far and away the best striker we can get in, in the current state the club are in.

Would he be open to a club like us, or is he wanting someone a little higher?

Cheers.

JMW1878

{Ed002's Note - Vietto is leaving Atletico so for now he looks like staying.}

1.) 03 Jan 2018 01:49:54
Could not agree more Jmw, one player I would take all Day long, he was struggling to get in the team so even though Vietto is leaving Costa will replace that player unless they plan on more leaving. Worth a pun before they offload other players.

Hi Eds,

Which level of club are looking at Malcom - Bordeaux.

Are the big dogs circling yet?

JMW1878

{Ed002's Note - Malcom was of interest to Barcelona, Olympique Marseille, Dynamo Kyiv, Chelsea and Juventus before he left Corinthians for a loan at Girodins Bordeaux to gain some experience. At the time he was expected to join Chelsea but the issues surrounding his ownership was a mess, to say the least. Bordeaux worked hard to untangle matters and persuaded the player to sign a permanent deal which ended a very ugly third party ownership deal with multiple parties involved in January 2016 (to explain - Corinthians were entitled to 30% of Malcom's transfer fee, while his agent Fernando Garcia held 35% of the economic rights. The rest was divided between Nílson Moura, who had 15%, and Guilherme Miranda and Thiago Ferro, with the other 20%). The head of scouting in France for Chelsea has continued to watch Malcom with scouts from Braga, Juventus, Porto, Liverpool, Southampton, Manchester United and I imagine others taking an interest and watching him play. Manchester United did speak to Bordeaux about the player in the summer but other wide players were preferred by the club - and I suspect that is still the case so the might return again.}

1.) 19 Dec 2017 20:48:16
Thanks for the in-depth response Ed. So pretty much every club going wants this kid.

Cheers again mate.

{Ed002's Note - There has been plenty of interest.}

This isn't an "Told you so" post. But i am just made up Sig is starting to pick games up by the scruff of the neck.

There was a lot of fans slagging him at the start of the season, saying he was no good.

The lad didn't have a pre season, effectively, it has ended around the Southampton game (coincidentally when his form went up) .

The lad is class, doesn't matter which club he plays for, that guy is a footballer. His technical ability is up there with the best in the league and to it, he grafts his bollocks off. His fitness is now up there, he covered the most ground in the league last year.

I am just buzzing he is now performing like i knew he always would.

Up the blues!

Gutted Lookman has gone as i think he should be playing parts in games.

Made up he's gone if he gets game time though. Hopefully moving to a foreign country in a solid team that plays with width will be the making of him, come the summer.

I for one will be watching RBL closely now.

All in all a shite window. Have let Barkley, Lookman, Sandro and Lennon go and got Walcott (who i think is a class signing) and Tosun in.

Getting no left back is criminal.

Hopefully the better players step up now, which i think they easily could do and we grab 7th and build again.

Seems a wasted year/ season for sure.

I like Barkley harboured hopes of him staying but if you saw him last night he struggled and was replaced at 50 mins. Thanks know it’s just one game and he needs match fitness but not a memorable start to life at Chelsea.

Hi Eds,

Are you aware if Bayern would be willing to let Bernat go if someone came in for him?

They have Alaba first choice and Bernat has hardly featured. If a club came in with say 20-30 million (which i think he is more than worth in the current market) - would they consider letting him go?

I think he is top drawer. Young, rapid and great ball control. He has the pace to both beat a man and whip balls in but also to recover if out of position/ covering team mates.

No brainer for me, would seriously strengthen us.

Cheers.

JMW1878

{Ed025's Note - i believe if the money was right then they would sell JMW, he is just the type of player we need imo mate..

11 Jan 2018 11:43:42
I know its not a rumour, but this is exactly the type of stuff you want to hear coming out of your new signings mouth.

Love it Cenk la

"I would like to promise everyone here that I will run until I drop and I will work very hard for this club. "

He gets it.

JMW1878

1.) 11 Jan 2018 13:49:55
That's all we want from our team to show heart and be proud to pull on the shirt.

2.) 11 Jan 2018 15:37:49
just like Niasse 110 % mate.

3.) 12 Jan 2018 13:21:02
Hopefully that's where the similarity to Niasse ends GB.

Reading the general Doucoure and Mawson rumours.

Is there genuine interest in Doucoure?

I think he's a good player, his physicality is impressive.

I remember when he came and played for them when Martinez was still in charge at the back end of the season and i remember he outpaced Rom and shrugged him off the ball, span off and got on his bike.

Remember thinking who is this guy!

No brainer as an alternative to Nzonzi for me, as we need to get rid of Schneiderlin, want him an his bad attitude to follow Mirallas tbh.

JMW1878

{Ed025's Note - for me doucoure and mawson are decent but not great JMW, they are not players who would greatly improve us where as nzonzi would mate..

1.) 09 Jan 2018 11:50:07
I agree Ed. Nzonzi is a stature of player who would also help on set pieces. We have been very poor at both defending and attacking set pieces this season. Especially when you see the deliveries Sig puts in. Any other team would have bagged a few points from his excellent deliveries.

07 Jan 2018 02:58:13
Just watched Tosuns all 63 goals vid for Besiktas.

The lad reminds me of a more mobile and hard working Yakubu. Not the tallest/ biggest, but is strong on the ball and in the air.

He looks like an out an out finisher, but we need to make sure we get the right service to him, because some of his goals was from the level of keeper in the Turkish league being piss poor.

Looks like he could easily be a 15/ 20 goal a season striker, if he settles well enough.

Over to you Cenky la.

Be just nice to have someone who can hit the target.

No, i agree with BLUE79. We can't just forget what a bad season last season was and that we need some massive changes.

Yes, Brands is a great start and to get him in early is vital. But i remember being in the same position last year when we got Koeman and Walsh in. No one is telling me that they weren't excited. Koeman for his value in world football and how well he did at Saints and then Walsh winning the league with Leicester. Look how that turned out.

I am as positive as they come but maybe the fact we all expected so much last summer, coupled with the bad start, made things worse.

There are still a lot of weeds that need digging out of the club. Getting the right manager in is massive for us. I don't want to be getting another manager in, in the next 12 months. It makes the club look shiteeeeee.

God knows who we are going to get, I think most out there, that we can actually bring in are risks.

Its great to see changes being made, but i think it would be better to not get all hyped up again, until we start seeing changes transferred on to the pitch.

Up the blues.

I think Van Aanholt is easily an improvement on Martina. For one he's left footed, he adds a way more of a threat going forward at lb (see his goals record for sunderland under Sam) . More assists, he is quicker, strong and a better player of the ball.

That said, though i do rate him on his day, i agree long term, we may have to have our eye on someone else.

I'd take him as an upgrade on Martina all day, especially if we get him as part of the Niasse deal, now we have Cenk in. Little improvements everywhere is only going to make us stronger like Walcott will.

Agree with Ed on that.

When he was at Braga he looked like he was going to turn into something special. He hasn't really lived up to that early promise.

Got a move to Benfica and after having watched him for them and Portugal in the Euros, doesn't look like a player who would cut it in the Prem to me. Plenty of better wide options out there imo.
