ANy hold-ups with the Sandro deal or just because he's away?

1.) 19 Jun 2017 17:40:55
Mail on line saying its a done deal?

14 Jun 2017 11:16:18
Everton have sent a delegation to Milan for some reason. Any idea why?

1.) 14 Jun 2017 11:40:32
Probably to do with Geri.

2.) 14 Jun 2017 11:46:00
Niang and Benega have been mentioned.

3.) 14 Jun 2017 11:59:38
I seen that myself mate but haven't got the slightest idea who interesting no doubt just wait and see I suppose.

4.) 14 Jun 2017 12:01:19
I don't know but could be in Milan for the lad that Eatford loaned Niang?
We have been linked before and appears to be available.

5.) 14 Jun 2017 12:02:41
Or could be to sort out Gerry's permit any move?

6.) 14 Jun 2017 11:46:35
Walsh an co have gone to discuss Lapadula, Niang and possibly Bacca (we need a striker of exp, if we are bringing Sandro in) .

Supposedly going to Inter later to discuss mainly Banega, while also asking for information on Brozovic and Murillo.

7.) 14 Jun 2017 12:17:04
Carlos bacca? Or that columbian CB at inter.

8.) 14 Jun 2017 12:19:06
Why would we send a delegation out just to sell someone. Surely they would come to us if it was about Deulefeu.

9.) 14 Jun 2017 12:38:30
Lapadula and Bacca are 2 other names mentioned as well.

10.) 14 Jun 2017 12:49:35
I agree with toffee, if it was them wanting Geri they should he coming to us unless we're that desperate to offload him.

11.) 14 Jun 2017 12:25:54
being reported Carlos Bacca now that's a new one to be added to the mix any Eds got any inside info on this.

{Ed002's Note - Duvan Zapata is available and has been asked about. Carlos Bacca is available but may be a more difficult target Arsenal would be open to a discussion but their preference is elsewhere. Probably too expensive for Sevilla who are keen and the interest of West Ham will likely be nowhere without European football. Everton watched Bacca and may return. The player was keen to join Atletico Madrid.}

12.) 14 Jun 2017 22:31:38
cheers ED.

13 Jun 2017 13:09:28
Telegraaf reporting that Klaassen is "all but done".

06 Jun 2017 09:57:23
Diego Llorente linked. Young centre-back on loan from Real Madrid to Malaga last season. Bid of £14 mill accepted. Any news?

25 May 2017 21:52:40
Do we have an update on Rooney? Better than what we have but personally, don't want him back. isn't what we need.

{Ed025's Note - im with you hugo, we should be looking forward not back..

1.) 26 May 2017 00:47:05
I know Rooney returning polarizes opinions amongst fans, but is it really such a bad move for us?

As a comparison, Gareth Barry is 36, and yes this season hasn't been stand out but still did a job when needed. His contribution to us since joining has been fantastic in my opinion and he illustrates that an older player is still a huge asset to have if they are good enough to affect a match. Rooney is what 31/ 32? I don't anticipate a vast number of goals from him but i can see the benefits of him being in the team. I've mentioned before the impact he can have on youth development/ mentorship. I think he is still more than capable of hitting double figures for goals, and we need need more goals throughout the team rather than mainly being reliant on a sole striker. As a free kick taker of exceptional talent, this could net a few more points over the course of a season. I see him being more of a midfielder, didn't he say a couple of years back that he sees this role as something that could keep him in the game at the top level for longer? He has good vision, passing and composure, so could open up the game and create more for attackers if used in the role. Another huge benefit has to be his love of the club and this is my big selling point. We just cannot beat Liverpool. I think the Merseyside derbies are 2 games where he will give his absolute all. His desire to help get the win in these matches of course doesn't justify the huge wages, but right now i'd give my arm to get a win over Liverpool after so long.
Also, Koeman is no fool. He seems to really want Rooney to join and i think his knowledge far exceeds any of ours. If he sees the move as beneficial, that it is an improvement, then are we really in a position to disagree?
I think maybe, even if you really don't want him to return, that we should take a more considered approach to comments about him because it's looking like a good possibility he will make the move and fostering a bad attitude towards him won't help anyone. Give him our support and hope he's a success.

2.) 26 May 2017 01:03:51
Going backwards. A player who is 31 a World Cup coming up to prove himself for selection, a player who will not role over and have his belly tickled against a top 4 side, available on a free, I scratch my head in disbelief not wanting a player on a free transfer, nothing to lose and everything to gain, too early to be written off yet, he will have a point to prove which can only be good for Everton.

3.) 26 May 2017 01:51:04
Literally can't get my head round people not wanting one of the greatest players to ever play the game. He has just shy of 200 premier league goals, 101 assists, Manchester Uniteds all time to scorer, Englands all time top scorer. Won everything there is at club level. Not to mention he is on a free.

Anyone who wants to argue against that, when we have the likes of Kone, Valencia, DCL on our bench, then you need to have a word with yourself.

Yes he left us, but he left us as he had ambition to win trophies an work with the biggest club in football with the biggest manager. And he went and bossed.

Now he can come back an spend his latter years getting the club who he still supports and takes his kids to the game (brings them up as blues) into the higher echelons of the league.

Not even up for discussion for me.

4.) 26 May 2017 06:20:00
With you on that jmw.

5.) 26 May 2017 08:18:42
Would sign him tomorrow brill, GuernseyBlue.

6.) 26 May 2017 08:45:32
People are writing him off because he isn't getting a game a united which is absolutely ridiculous were in Europe and he has thirteen years experience in that so I think he would be the best signing for each for many years.

7.) 26 May 2017 08:59:20
Totally agree with above posts. Bring him back.

8.) 26 May 2017 09:52:06
Put it this way gents, if he bags the winner in the 90th minute at their rubbish shed, kop end next season and runs full length of the pitch into our fans . all will be forgiven haha!

9.) 26 May 2017 10:47:30
I would welcome him back with open arms
He still has a heck of a lot he can offer a team, and the price ain't bad :-)

10.) 26 May 2017 11:25:52
Yes please. I'd have him all day long. Just imagine his joy at getting his first goal in a blue shirt again.

11.) 26 May 2017 12:01:54
Age gives you experience, he's won a lot and knows how to do it, who have we in the squad who can offer that, Barry when at city, now 31 isn't old look at some of the great players still going in there 30s. problem with Rooney is he isn't a striker and he isn't a midfielder, he's a Barkley, now are you telling me he wouldn't add more than 4 goals over a season and create more assists, he will bring composure and know how, money shouldn't be a stumbling block and we should want players like this in our squad, other players will see what we are doing and the calibre of players we have and will then want to join us, city when they first started bought at stupid prices and payed silly wages just to get the players threw the door, now they have become successful and can get any player and and any manager they want, we need realise all the best players won't just come to us unless we can offer something exciting, yes it's coming but we need build to get there.

12.) 26 May 2017 18:01:35
Rooney would be a good stepping stone for us for the next few years and as I said in a previous post. The lad scored 15 goals Last season in a pretty poor man who side. When we sell lukaku we will be begging for a player who can get us 10-15 goals a season so to get one who isn't an out and out striker like Rooney will do very nicely.

13.) 27 May 2017 09:18:12
I think it's obvious Rooney isn't match fit. A good pre season and a run of 4 or 5 games and you'll see a different player to what we've seen recently. He hasn't had a decent run in there team for months now, but when he did (before Christmas) he still looked an influential player for them.

14.) 28 May 2017 16:39:51
Bazwil212 what makes you think he is going on a free?

Ive said this before, he has 2 or so years on his contract left, do you really think united will say 'hey roo here's 25+ mil, thanks and goodbye'. They will want at least what is negotiated as a severance package for ending his contract early.

So there is anything upto 25+ mil straight away, then all other fees etc, and the 3 year 150k a week, so around 22.5+ mil for the 3 years, that's 47.5+ mil for a player that's not looking like he can cope any more with the pace of the prem. And let's remember that there will be no return on that as he will prob retire on the treatment bench.

Don't know where people get the free from, I personally don't think investing that amount in Rooney at this time in his career is worth it.

Hi Ed, do we know if Besic will be moved on this Summer? I hope not, although he hasn't played much, i'm a huge fan of the guy but I don't see where he'd fit in.

{Ed025's Note - i like him as well hugo but like you dont see where he would fit in mate..

1.) 21 Jun 2017 11:42:32
I think everyone of us has willed Besic on to be a great player for us, I just can't see Koeman putting up with his injury record. I know he had a bad one but the little niggling Ines before then are telling. I would love him to be injury free for a season and show us what a good player he could be but I can't see it happening.

06 Jun 2017 12:25:46
Be gutted when Lukaku leaves. Best striker I've seen in an Everton shirt, grew up on the likes of Bent, Beattie and Johnson being our man up top. Glad we got 4 seasons out of him.

1.) 06 Jun 2017 13:54:50
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I won't be gutted. I'll be delighted to see him gone. Best thing for me about his 4 seasons is the profit the club will make when eventually jogs on.

2.) 06 Jun 2017 14:28:26
Think he'll be a big miss but at least if he goes early the saga doesn't drag on over the summer and leave or recruitment in a bind.

3.) 06 Jun 2017 14:30:46
I was totally gutted when Ball and Kendall left. Not so with Lukaku. We've improved him and enjoyed his goals. Don't see him as an Everton legend though.
The club gets top dollar and we move on and try to swerve his agent in future.

4.) 06 Jun 2017 16:39:18
Tata Rom. Mind the door as it smacks you on the way out. Can't believe how much he has disrespected us since signing. I've never took to him and he with us.

21 May 2017 18:52:08
Blue Union saying Barkley's signed a new contract.

1.) 21 May 2017 19:29:20
If he does, I really hope it's because he wants to stay and not because the big clubs didn't want him. I do hope Ross stays and hopefully with competition for places next season, he can truly become the diamond.

05 Apr 2017 02:23:47
Moment of madness from Williams but the man's human. Things happen. On to the next.

1.) 05 Apr 2017 14:50:30
much improved display shame we didn't show half that fight on Sat.
Does anybody else think the ref was as a home banker as they have seen he gave us nothing especially on Barkley who I thought should of had a few free kicks I wonder if his tackles at the weekend played on the refs mind due to Ross being very lucky to stay on the pitch v lfc.

27 Mar 2017 02:26:48
Hi Ed, noticed on the rumours page you said the scouting system at the club has changed a lot.

Can you tell us how? Not that it's important, just curious.

{Ed002's Note - Steve Walsh has arrived and has been joined by Laurence Stewart an new chief scout Martyn Glover - but still of course they get trashed by the Everton fans. I find that stuff a great embarrassment to read sadly Hugo.}

1.) 27 Mar 2017 08:47:40
Fortunately Ed that post referring to our inability to scout a decent forward whilst misinformed doesn't reflect the views of many who post on here. I am particularly excited by the business we have done post Steve Walsh and co'.

{Ed002's Note - Good TA - good to hear.}

2.) 27 Mar 2017 10:07:53
Some people are never happy, Ed!

3.) 27 Mar 2017 10:41:23
I have to say the moaners are in a very small minority now. I was one last season. with good reason I believe. But as soon as Mr Walsh arrived my view completely changed. I knew of his history only from the media but it was obvious that he worked in the same was as Clough and Peter Taylor did at Forest. In building the team that won the European Cup twice. Taylor would scout the players and leave all the coaching and management matters to Clough. I could see a similar approach at Leicester and hoped that he would work with Koeman in a similar fashion. That indeed seems to be what is happening and so far very successfully. Gana, Calvert-Lewin and Lookman are all quality in my eyes. I hope for many more of this quality to come in and Koeman can work his magic in turning them into a unit. I expect us to sign a young central defender, a young center forward and another creative midfielder. Probably from lower leagues or ones not needed at another club. Danny Drinkwater and Marc Albrighton at Leicester were not exactly setting the world alight throughout their careers but in the unit of Leicester City with the flair of Marez make an exceptional unit. let's see who we sign and how Koeman sets up a midfield to challenge the rest. Gana is the start of that I believe.

4.) 27 Mar 2017 10:50:35
Spot on Toffee Ace I would go as far as to say the majority of fans are made up with the progress so far since the take over. Unfortunately the few that are not tend to be the ones that make most noise.

5.) 27 Mar 2017 11:27:55
More importantly it seems Lukaku is not happy with our buying policy. Although, I believe he will find any excuse to get his move away from the club.
