Hi All, first time poster so be gentle.

This question is aimed at ED 002. Going back through numerous past posts it appears you have a very good knowledge of Chelseas day to day business/ plans; in your opinion what chance have Everton got on securing Kurt Zoumas services for the coming season. We can see he is back in the Chelsea squad, how likely is it he will be seen by Lampard to be one of his starters and so Zouma himself ruling out a return to Everton.
Thanks Ed, enjoy your insight.

{Ed002's Note - I have no way of measuring the chance of a move, but (a) Everton did themselves no favours in using a third party to simply make a vague enquiry initially rather than arranging a meeting and making an offer, (b) he may well be a starter at the beginning of the season but won’t be later on, (c) Zouma wants to remain at Chelsea, (d) the decision is not simply Lampard’s, (e) much depends on who else leaves - they have sold or released 26 players as of yesterday.}

Thanks Ed, great feedback as always.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

Cheers for the info shame Zouma wants to stay at Chelsea can't blame him for that. I would have thought Brands would have been able to pick up the phone to make the initial enquiry strange they used a third party.

{Ed002's Note - The negotiation of transfers is often undertaken by third parties and often by folks who work for clubs that the fans have never heard of.}

If the player wants to remain, I’d say that is a major stumbling block in signing him.

Zouma will not be coming this window.

Hi, Question for Ed 002,
Noticed previously your feedback regarding 3rd party influence at the club and how recently that influence may have gone away.
Based on the general agreement of a great transfer window for the Blues, is it your opinion that it is now Brands making the decisions as the official DoF, are Marcel and Carlo working together in tandem or is Farhad listening more to Carlo.
Really appreciate your unique insight Ed, keep up the good work.

{Ed002's Note - Mr Moshiri is the owner and should not be involved with the day-to-day running of the club and transfer deceisions. He seems to have learned that lesson and left it to those responsible as Brands and Steinsson who were being hampered by one of these advisors. They obviously consult CA.}

Question for ED 02 and please don't go ballistic, it is a genuine question.
Everton and other clubs have been penalised for breaking rules about illegal approach of contracted players.
How come we see many examples (albeit in the tabloid press! ) of players being approached openly (Jurgen Klopp personally contacting the Greek left back as a recent example, there are more) with no apparent punishment?
We know common sense wise this is happening all of the time (whether through agents or not) so how do the Premier League or FA determine who is punished and who is not?

By the way ED, great insight into the summer madness that is the Transfer Window. Of course as a big Evertonian, I want Everton to be in the discussions for any available top player but I believe we as fans must be realistic as to who would want to come to us at present and of course the money situation. Keep up the great feedback, you MUST be an agent yourself?

{Ed002's Note - It all depends whether or not a formal complaint is made. So Stoke made a complain about Liverpool which led to a long ban. Everton as you say were punished for an illegal approach. Two Liverpool directors left a trail of slime when the made a grovelling apology to Fulham over an illegal approach they amde to stop them making a formal complaint. Liverpool then paid £15M over the odds and outrageous agent fees to Southampton for an illegal approach and having one of their players go on strike. They have paid off other clubs, heeded verbal warnings (only this week from Bayern Munich), suffered the indignation of what other clubs have said about their lack of respect (a recent good example being RB Leipzig) and stepped back after written complaints were made in writing (e.g. by Udinese). It is to me completely unprofessionalism and unacceptable.}

Thanks Ed, great insight as ever and as you point out seems to be going on in the background constantly. As ever in life though, it appears if you throw enough money at a problem, it can be made to go away!

Keep up the great feedback on the transfer front, it all seems fairly quiet at present, especially at Everton where we are definitely at the rear end of the queue when it comes to the better players making their choice as to where prefer to end up.

Question ED02 Klopp and Liverpool's Name keeps popping up so why do they always seem to get their own way (apart from the Stoke kiddie) Van Dyke, Wermer being two players likely tapped up and Bayern Munich and Udinese have made accusations if I have read that right so why do they always seem to get away with it.

{Ed002's Note - They don't get their own way - reputationally they are not in a good place, they have paid off clubs - Manchester City were paid a significant amount after Liverpool hacked in to their computers and got caught, another PL was paid off after an illegal approach for a player.}

3.) 14 Aug 2020 14:58:18
Cheers ED02 I could be wrong but didn't city let them off lightly with a 1 million pound fine and then got all upset when Liverpool were one of the main teams pushing for a European ban maybe it just looks like they seem to get away with more than anyone else knowingly tapping players up but with no sanctions from the authorities.

{Ed002's Note - Yes - it was completely unprofessional of Liverpool after Manchester City had done them a hude favour.}
