As frustrating as it may be as a fan when a player isn't playing well, but the social media abuse Maupay got is simply wrong. People need to grow up and stop being dickheads. No wonder players confidence gets shot to pieces so quickly these days.

To be fair to the guy, he is a trier on another day he gets a brace and we win about 4-1. I think he needs support up front .

Totally agree. Too many keyboard warriors on social media. Maupay isn't my favourite striker but I wouldn't dream of doing what some certain "fans" of clubs do regarding online abuse, it's disgusting.

Back to the game against Fulham. Wow how many chances did we spurn. Leno played well in goal but we should have at the very least scored 2 goals maybe 3. The lack of finishing chances cost us dearly.
It's the ongoing saga that will undoubtedly plague us for the season ahead. scoring goals. The goal we conceded was calamitous in itself. Basically we threw 3 points away but on the plus side a lot of chances were created.

Why are people not allowed to voice an opinion good bad or indifferent, isn't that what you're doing, if people spend money to watch this team and it isn't preforming because of someone aren't they within their rights to say why? . keyboard warrior.

What other team in the prem would have him? None, but he tries, I blame our manager for picking him, He has scored 1 times after 38 match days in the season 2022/ 2023. This makes him the number 195 scorer in the Premier League so far.

So in other words bunkbeds, buy crap, play him knowing he's crap, and hope once day he finds the back of the net, and leave young talent to believe they are not as good as him. Decent strikers would have burst the net with the chances he had. People are entitled to air their views. I hope he reads them, stays on the training pitch when others have gone, and doesn't go home till he's banged 70 out of 100 in the back of the net.

Saying "we hope your mum is dead" is not voicing an opinion. Anyone writing stuff like this is abhorrent. If you're one of them, then hang your head in shame.

This is football. He played well yesterday and I saw a player trying his best but couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. Last season he want getting in those positions to score.

However, we need instinctive strikers who will score. Doesn't mean I have a right to verbally abuse him. If you do this on social media or otherwise give your head a wobble. Abuse is not acceptable in any form. Idiots.

Of course that’s wrong and disgraceful, and that sort of tripe has no place utterly toxic.

{Ed025's Note - your right GB, its disgusting, there is a difference between giving an opinion and abusing someone, its no secret that im not his biggest fan but there is a line that should never be crossed mate..

You can voice an opinion but at the end of the day we bought him that's not his fault. Dyche played him that's not his fault. He's never been a fox in the box or a loam striker you don't use a spanner to tighten a screw. I think the frustration got personal we are looking in the wrong place he'a scapegoat. The blame lays at the feet of the board. They have sold every asset and thing they can without fixing a 3 year issue. Expect more exits under the smoke screen of a striker search. Chiniti will now be under emmence presume at 19 and completely unproven. Dankuna also looks well off match sharpness. Dyche doesn't make changes that's also not helped us.

{Ed025's Note - good post that mate..

It absolutely sick to write what that so called fan did. Hope the club ban him if he goes to the games. No matter how bad a player you are, to have someone tell you they wished your mam was in a grave is just vile.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely dentie mate..

Every club has its idiots, but you have to remember, our supporters were accused of a headlock, and more, was it a blue who said this?

13 Aug 2023 09:41:57
Not Ken, just my opinion. I'm not saying he's just turned into Messi but I'm not blind to that he was trying his best yesterday.

His finishing was poor but he finally started to run in the right channels to get those chances. Last season he didn't. Is he the answer, we all know that he isn't and we need to buy but that doesn't give the right to abuse.

And if I was a striker considering Everton right now and they had to release a statement over abuse, I'd be going else where.

A self destructing club both inside and out.

Hes absolutely garbage and he deserves criticism 1 goal in 30 matches says it all yet are press are jokes why don't they ask these questions back to maupay his first touch is poor he can't hold the ball up then he can't be assed to make runs and his 1 vs 1 whose training these attackers they need to be questioned and yet we all knew at half time it needed changing but no he's still on in second half getting sick and tired of this club carrying players who don't care 3 years we have needed a forward and still has not been addressed absolute shambles.

I'm getting a bit fed up with players who try hard and run around a lot.
Give me a lazy player who scores goals any day. By that I mean the players who know where to be when the ball is moving forward, who don't come deep looking for the ball but are on the the defenders shoulder, and who know how to take their chances.
Give me a wide man who stays wide, and who's first thought is to take his player on and not pass it backwards. Who isn't afraid of having a shot on goal.
Runs around a lot and tries hard doesn't cut it for me anymore.

13 Aug 2023 10:21:33
I’m sure he cares and would like to score. Nonsense.
He got himself into some decent positions and worked hard. At Prem level, you have to take one or two of the chances he had so he’s not good enough. His hold up play is also poor and that’s not ok as a lone striker. Any other additional abuse is both pointless and brainless.

I keep saying Dyche is at fault for picking Maupay. The lad does not suit the style of play and constantly playing him, hoping he scores is doing a diservice to him and the club. Running around all day, getting in good positions and then missing every opportunity that comes your way surely tells me either his confidence is shot or he ain't good enough. We can't gamble on waiting for That Goal to get him off the mark. This I feel is our defining season to get things right. We are already on the backfoot and under pressure with Villa and Wolves coming up next. One game in and it feels like we're playing 6 point games already.

If you are trying to justify the vile abuse the man received for playing a game of football then you yourself are an absolute idiot. It's football at the end of the day, it's a game!
If you want rid of the owner and board, protest. Ripping a player from the day he signed won't help him or our cause, strikers thrive on confidence but some are help bent on running him out at any cost. Disgraceful behaviour but, sadly, not totally unexpected. We have our fair share of absolute clowns who follow the club, can see that just from some posts in this forum!

19.) 13 Aug 2023
13 Aug 2023 15:48:10
There is no excuse for the vile post against Maupay, we all criticise and that’s our right to have an opinion, however this was not about football.
The idiots who do this are the same ones wondering why players don’t want to sign for us, would you, knowing that if you had a bad game you would get this type of abuse.
I’m no great fan of Maupay, however to be fair to the lad yesterday was his best game for us. He tried as hard as I’ve ever seen and came up against a very lucky keeper.

Don't think anybody is trying to justify it as it's not justifiable. But that doesn't mean you can't have an opinion on a players performance.

Hope Maupay goes on to get a hat trick next game.

Vile people writing tosh - you can’t call them supporters because they aren’t.

BB, they are though and it was why I replied. Basically, Lee is saying comparing it to an alleged headlock. As I said, we've got some clowns for fans and this thread shows as much mate. Just my opinion, some will share it and some won't but I'll call it as I see it.

I agree there's no place for the abuse and the person who has wrote it should get punished and not just a stadium ban but am talking about his performances since he has joined he's not been good enough some say he needs help his job is to hold ball up take people on get in the box more be a nuisance but he can't do any of them tasks nothing personal he shoudnt be in the 1st team i have said this numerous times cannon simms dobbs should of been ahead of him and dyche he needs to be asked what justifies maypay getting game time can't be to be in the shop window cause i cannot see anyone buying him or dyche just reckons he's best we have in this current time but one goal in 30 premier league matches some one needs to be held accountable for that transfer.
