Here's the rest of the post. that bloody send button on the mobile site version is sensitive. As I said in the discussion thread, Atalanta who finished 5th in Serie A and have Europa League football to offer (I think) are currently the more attractive proposition.

Fabrizio Romano on Twitter

"Atalanta are closing El Bilal Touré deal — to be signed on Tuesday… here we go soon ??

More details after late night bid.
◉ €28m fixed fee, €3m add ons.
◉ 15% sell-on clause to Almería.
◉ Long term deal agreed.
◉ Medical this week.
It’s club record fee for Atalanta. "

Not shocked tbh. M. time will tell if we dodged a bullet or not . So the search continues!

2.) 25 Jul 2023 06:11:23
No surprise really. We are in the basement at the bottom of a pile of barrells, at the bottom of a barrell.

3.) 25 Jul 2023 14:48:42
Not bothered about Toure to be honest. A lot of money and could have easily been another Keane. I liked the like to Iheanacho myself. Been around the league and at a decent price.

25 Jul 2023 05:06:56
It's looking like we are going to miss out on El Bilal Toure to Atalanta.

Being linked with Allan Saint-Maximin now in the Echo. Mentioned along with Charles De Ketelaere and El Bilal Toure again. Not expecting anything to happen with any of these despite the "links".

I would have thought we'd have signed somebody by now (ready for pre season) but still plenty of time left. I don't envisage many signings but 3 possibly 4 just to replace the people who have already left.

I’d love to see ASM in a blue shirt. Been a while since we’ve had a player of his talent. Think the fans would love him.

2.) 05 Jul 2023 11:03:15
Even thou it all looks lovely, but you have to ask yourself, is Everton a good step for him, I'm sure there will be plenty of options for him. As for the rest of the players linked, it's all just a waiting game, one min we are looking at 34 million players and then 3 million player or swap, who knows what is actually going on behind the scenes.

{Ed002's Note - He will be off to the Middle East I would think.}

3.) 05 Jul 2023 11:15:32
Yep, that would make sense.

4.) 05 Jul 2023 12:58:42
JBt ASM delivered 1 goal and 5 assist last season yes he can run fast and dribble but his attacking contribution is certainly not worth the price he would cost.

5.) 05 Jul 2023 13:29:34
We’ll have to agree to disagree pal, I’d take him in a heartbeat.

6.) 05 Jul 2023 13:57:57
We already have one player who runs around a lot but has no end product.

7.) 05 Jul 2023 14:14:25
We don’t have to agree. I’d take him, you wouldn’t. That’s fine.

8.) 05 Jul 2023 17:47:56
We have more than one Woburn.

9.) 05 Jul 2023 18:18:53
True.

10.) 05 Jul 2023 23:02:23
That’s literally what agree to disagree means.

11.) 05 Jul 2023 23:33:33
Chuckle chuckle ?.

12.) 05 Jul 2023 23:53:24
We could just bandage iwobis knees and call him st iwobiman.

13.) 06 Jul 2023 01:03:12
He was injured for a large part of last season but I'd still want us to take a puny on him if there is a chance he's leaving Newcastle. It would improve the squad without doubt but, as ed002 says, there's a good chance he will head to the Saudi league.

14.) 06 Jul 2023 08:52:26
Agree to agree on that one, Rob.

15.) 06 Jul 2023 12:53:17
Always thought Saint-Minimum was overrated, but he's probably an improvement on what we have. Just not sure he's the first priority in terms of positions.

16.) 06 Jul 2023 19:19:35
Wolf73 -that made me laugh ?.

From Fabrizio Romano's Twitter

EXCL: Everton have submitted a bid to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. It’s £40m proposal plus £5m add ons. #EFC

Chelsea will make a decision soon as there are also other clubs interested in Gallagher — and player has to decide his future too.

Howie1878

1.) 30 Jan 2023 15:02:28
Cut and paste is brilliant.

2.) 30 Jan 2023 15:35:58
Prefer copy and paste myself DFS.
We do need to get players in but I thought we would go for a striker first and foremost. I know Gallagher was amongst the goals in his Palace loan but I would imagine he wouldn't come here at present. It's a big fee as well basically matching what we had for Gordon.

3.) 30 Jan 2023 15:44:31
If reports are true, he'd prefer Newcastle move, if they do come in for him, no chance he's going to choose us . Newcastle are doing what we should have been doing when Moshiri came in, flying high and look like an attractive club to play for at the moment.

4.) 30 Jan 2023 16:17:52
No chance while that structure was in place.

29 Aug 2022 09:59:00
David Ornstein (The Athletic) - Gordon to Chelsea looking unlikely, Everton continuing to persue Gakpo from PSV and Garner from Man U, Gueye negotiations ongoing and new interest in Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves.

Make of it what you will. The hold up in Gueyes move is between him and PSG. Agreement on personal terms with Everton is in place. There is a dispute to be settled, presumably a payout clause (rumoured) . We will look to other possibilities if we can't get it done. Everton looking at bringing in 2 or 3 more players. Positions mentioned were midfielder, striker or wide forward.

Howie1878

1.) 29 Aug 2022 10:14:56
Good info mate.

2.) 29 Aug 2022 10:49:19
I'd of like to see Kudus from Ajax but looks like a no go as man utd agreed fee for Antony. Possible if he puts in transfer request. Or (tongue in cheek) we offer Gomes, Allan and Rondon as a sweetener ?.

3.) 29 Aug 2022 10:50:16
According to Ped from Toffee TV he said PSG hired someone to get rid of the unwanted players and that was his only job and so far he hasn't got any of them out the door and the top dogs at PSG are not very happy with him as he keeps changing the deals.

People might have already seen the latest from the club website.

"Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia has signed a new two-year deal with the Club until the end of June 2025.". More on the website.

So that's maybe our 3 keepers done and dusted. Pickford, Virginia and Lonergan.

Possibly we might have signed now 38 year old Ashley Young on a free or that's the latest going around.

Howie1878

1.) 09 Jul 2023 21:50:57
Wowser's buzzing for that captivating signing, did Delph recommend it?

2.) 09 Jul 2023 22:20:36
So after 6 weeks, we have finally sorted the resigning of two keepers… that and a few other players.

Our recruitment is chugging along at exceptional speed! If only someone had thought of offering these contracts to players already at the club back in May, imagine how much progress we could have made.

3.) 10 Jul 2023 05:55:59
They were too busy negotiating their resignation payoffs BR.

4.) 10 Jul 2023 12:03:22
Just highlights the fact we can't afford to buy another keeper. I mean the lads been loaned out to just about everyone over the last few years.

23 Jun 2023 12:07:27
Everton have appointed Colin Chong as interim Chief Executive Officer and Director.
James Maryniak will take charge of all finance matters as interim Chief Finance Officer.
Farhad Moshiri and John Spellman will join as Non-Executive Directors.
Bill Kenwright will remain as Chairman during a period of transition.

Thoughts on this news?

Howie1878

1.) 23 Jun 2023 12:43:56
Kenwright remaining as chairman is the biggest joke I’ve ever heard. Fraud of a man.

2.) 23 Jun 2023 13:08:08
It’s only whilst we’re in transition. Nothing to worry about. Come on, it’s not like he has a history of overstaying his welcome ?.

3.) 23 Jun 2023 13:21:21
This is what they all think of the fans, nothing, disgusting if he stays on, stay away from matches till they do what's needed, that's the only way they will listen.

4.) 23 Jun 2023 14:02:51
We have been transitioning since 1995!

5.) 23 Jun 2023 14:12:21
''Transition'' is or could be just business speak, added as a sop, Transition is not a set time in fact it could be anytime, week month year even, and then due to circumstances favourable only to Moshiri et al it changes to indefinite.
Pinch of salt with his statements, words come very cheap to this guy.

6.) 23 Jun 2023 14:26:15
Why appoint if only temporary? Is this legal requirement at Company House to have named Directors at Company House when previous Directors have been removed?
New Owners reported wants include the need to diminish Moshiri equity ownership to somewhere close to 50% so he remains in control but there's no way that new owners will allow others (as above) control their investments.
This pantomine needs to stop. Continuance is impacting squad investments when other teams are already picking off the best for next season.

7.) 23 Jun 2023 19:44:41
Didn't Ed002 say Moshiri wants out asap? Maybe I'm mistaken. The legal jargin and red tape is probably ridiculous. It's going to happen sooner or later.

8.) 23 Jun 2023 21:06:47
Makes sense as an interim set of appointments anyone who thinks Bill will go before MSP arrive will probably be disappointed I reckon 3 weeks before anymore changes.

9.) 23 Jun 2023 21:45:25
Bet bill stays for the full season, and will wait until we move into the new stadium, then he can say he left us with a new stadium and gloat about it and that will be his legacy so to speak.

10.) 24 Jun 2023 02:15:02
I'm half expecting kenwright to be unveiled as our new number 9 before close of transfer window.

28 May 2023 18:48:23
Phew! All around emotions going mental but mostly joy and relief spring to mind, I'm off to have a few beers to be thankful we are still in this great league. Now we can look forward and build for next season and we must improve. Relegation would have been an absolute disaster. I can empathise with Leeds, Leicester and Southampton fans. Good luck to those clubs coming back up.

I'm happy with the result and performance but it's sad that we keep finding ourselves in this position. Coady said the same in his interview after the game and he's 100% right. It's hard being an Evertonian but it's who I am and I cannot change it.

Howie1878

1.) 28 May 2023 18:52:23
Wow we find new ways to test us fans but just relieved to be over and done with. Barry Horne Graeme Stuart Gareth Farrelly and now Doucs. Smashing made up.

2.) 28 May 2023 18:57:57
Yes I agree Howie. The final 10 minutes were purgatory. My blood pressure went up 30 points, can't do this again next year. Thelwell was shown at the game, hopefully he can unearth some low cost talent.

21 May 2023 01:35:19
We are obviously in need of results going our way but as long we get results it's still in our hands. Leed face a difficult task in West Ham but they may not get anymore points in the remaining fixtures. Credit to Forest in beating Arsenal and securing their premier league status. I'm still hoping that West Ham put a good performance in against Leeds. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum!

Howie1878

1.) 21 May 2023 07:15:13
It’s not over yet, see how Leeds get on against West Ham, everyone seems to think that Keeds will roll over them because they have nothing to play for, but Wolves we’re already supposed to have their flip flops on as well. Clearly not always the case. I thought we’d need 4 from the last 2, a win would still be enough in my opinion.

{Ed025's Note - what will be will be for me gibbo, i think we are in big trouble myself and what you say about west ham and woulves will certainly apply to bournemouth next week mate, they are a better side than us imo and if leeds get a result today (which i expect) then its very likely we will go down, will it be the end of the world?.. not for me, i will still be an evertonian and it will just be another adventure..

2.) 21 May 2023 07:41:03
Unfortunately it's out of our hands once again. If Leeds/ Leicester get a win today or tomorrow we become favorites for one of the relegation spots

I'm a worried man.

3.) 21 May 2023 08:31:29
If think because there is no tournament this summer means none of the teams have their flip flops on.
West ham will want to take some form into the final.
Spurs as bad as they are should be able to score against the Leeds defence.
Let's hope West ham spank Leeds today.

08 May 2023 20:27:37
Absolutely outstanding result today and the lads gave everything. Hope is still there.

Well Southampton are shocking. Forest winning currently 2-1. We are still out of the relegation zone though whatever the result tonight.

From Fabrizio Romano on Twitter

"Ashley Young is set to join Everton on a short term deal, here we go! Medical has been booked in the next 24h. ?? #EFC

Young accepted conditions of the deal and joins as free agent. "

So it does look likely he will be our first signing. Played decently well for Villa last season and fans weren't happy he wasn't offered a new deal I'm led to believe. His age is obviously against him at 38 but he does have a lot of experience and does provide cover.

As far as I'm aware he can only sign the Everton deal when he turns 17 on August 1st. As you say he could already be looking for another club to go to by then or has. Trouble is that he plays LB. He isn't going to get in the team before Digne or Nkounkou except possibly cup games maybe or major injuries. I'm sure we'll see what happens soon enough.

Galtier is rumoured to have an agreement in principle to be joining
Nice. I'm not sure how true that is though or if it was from a credible source. All a guessing game at the moment as we don't know who the club have targeted apart from Nuno Espirito Santo. The waiting game continues.

I'm not even sure Rafa has been considered by the club even with all his experience.

I know it doesn't really mean much and take it with a pinch of salt but the odds on Graham Potter and Eddie Howe have been significantly changed this afternoon. Probably I suspect due to the Nuno Espirito Santo going to Palace rumours. I would prefer Potter over Howe myself.

Totally agree. Too many keyboard warriors on social media. Maupay isn't my favourite striker but I wouldn't dream of doing what some certain "fans" of clubs do regarding online abuse, it's disgusting.

Back to the game against Fulham. Wow how many chances did we spurn. Leno played well in goal but we should have at the very least scored 2 goals maybe 3. The lack of finishing chances cost us dearly.
It's the ongoing saga that will undoubtedly plague us for the season ahead. scoring goals. The goal we conceded was calamitous in itself. Basically we threw 3 points away but on the plus side a lot of chances were created.

Graeme Sharp is still an Everton legend, that will never be in question for me. I'm not convinced Sharpy has or had much say in matters anyway but people are mostly aggrieved that he didn't speak out against the current board or as Skylark mentioned, resigned when the proverbial hit the fan.

The whole ineptitude of the board and the "headlock" situation is what's left a bitter taste with most fans. Bill Kenwright still living in the past with his "good times" stories and blaming the fans for other issues. I don't see how he can stay on especially with his health deteriorating.

The truth of the matter is the board have mismanaged the club and it's finances for years hence how we find ourselves in trouble with FFP (as Ed002 has mentioned many times through the years) . Who now becomes the new directors is anyone's guess. Most people assume it's going to be MSP related but it's gone quiet lately.

This feeling of not knowing is absolutely horrible, feels like this season has been years not months. We don't have long to reveal our footballing fate but come what may I will either be having a celebratory drink or one (bloody several) to drown my sorrows. I'm expecting a nervous Goodison crowd (understandably) but the players need to perform to keep them onside. Stick to the basics well. The key is obviously a much needed victory but we may not need one unless Leicester and Leeds get good results. We've been rubbish against Bournemouth this season but that was under the stewardship of Lampard. Big Yerry Mina's last game as well, I wish him well for his next adventure. Hopefully he will be dancing at the final whistle along with every other Evertonian.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.

All we can do is show our support.
I'll give him a chance. He's taking over at a turbulent time. Hopefully Dyche can get the players to adopt a fighting spirit.

If we get any points from the Arsenal or Liverpool games then it's a bonus in my eyes. His favoured 4-4-2 formation didn't do too badly at Burnley but it will be interesting to see his formation and tactics. At least he knows Tarkowski, Keane and McNeil and what to expect from them.

Just give us fans a little bit of hope. Not sure what signings we'll make with the Gordon money but let's hope it's not squandered again.
