Just wanted to pop over from the Liverpool page to express my admiration for the fantastic gesture from Everton football club to donate £200,000 to the mascot who is battling illness. Pure class from Everton that and also a massive shout out to the fans also for giving him a great reception as I have mentioned before my grandad is a massive blue and I always have a bit of Everton in my heart. All the best for the season ahead apart from the Derby of course 😉. Well done on the 3 points fully deserved . Take care all YNWA.

Danfield5, good post that lad. I wonder even though he loves you as Grand Dads should hasn't he laid the guilt trip on you yet for supporting the dark side. My Grand Son told me when he was 8 that he was deserting the mighty COYB's for the other lot, I nearly crashed the car.

Haha billscrocodiletears. No he's never did that he married my Nan who is a huge red so derby day used to be very eventful at the house. I chose red as a very young boy and never deviated . I always say though as I have many blue mates also that the only time I want Everton to lose is if it's the Derby or it helps us directly in the league . I prefer the 80's friendly Derby atmosphere attitude myself . I have attended a lot of Everton games down the years but many more trips to anfield . I have been with my grandad to Goodison on a few occasions . I am and always have been proud of the city and both its clubs . That's said I am and always will be a kopite 😄 Cheers.

Thanks Danfield5. We all have to go sometime but 51 is far too young. I lost my mum when she was 47 so know the grief it can bring. RIP fellow Evertonian.

Wow I have just read all the waro and ed25 stuff and I don't like it . I am a huge red and I love our city immensely and by our city I mean the city of Liverpool home of both great clubs Liverpool and Everton . The Merseyside derby was a thing of pride for all the world to watch to sets of fans travelling to Wembley together singing Merseyside that is how it should have always been the friendly Derby . I would love it to be that way again .

I hope you evertonians get a nice new stadium if that's what you want I always prefer to try to remain at a ground if possible as i am a bit of traditionalist . I do see big benefits of being at the docks though. Since the terrible events of Heysel I notice things began to shift to a little very slow at first but when the European ban was there and Everton starting losing there best players which was probably one of the best teams Everton had at the time the blame was put firmly at liverpools door. I can see that over time more younger fans who have grown up with this hate for each other's clubs has made things worse and it's getting a little out of hand .

I love Everton football club my grandad was a blue my nan is a red. But I chose to be a red the only time I want Everton to get beat is if it directly helps us in the league or it's a derby . I wish Everton were coming 2nd to Liverpool every season or battling for leagues and cups but sadly that's not the case.

Hillsborough broke the hearts of many in this city red and blue and the support we showed each other all through and until this day is immense . The families were incredible and how we are both blues and reds proud of the fight they showed the dignity they showed and there fight was finally rewarded with justice which has been far to long and over due . We are the people of this city red and blue yeah banter and jibes are all part and parcel of it bragging rights at work etc . At the last Derby I really didn't like the Everton fans singing always the victims it's never your fault . I would like to ask all Everton fans to never sing that again. I genuinely wish you the best of luck for the season under Koeman as long as you don't beat us . Cheers bitters 😉 YNWA x.

Good post that for a kopite thanx mate 😋.

2.) 08 Aug 2016 23:34:43
Great post mate, couldn't agree more but fortunately for every sick weirdo like Waro there are thousands of genuine fans like ourselves who realise that is only a game and that when a tragedy such as Hillsborough strikes the game of football descends into irrelevance. As for the mindless chanting, songs etc. I'm afraid that nowadays it appears to be the norm to mock or joke about any tragedy but luckily the people who do are still a very small minority when measured on the grand scale of things.

Should of listened to your grandad mate he knows the score.

4.) 09 Aug 2016 06:59:05
Good post that Danfield. . waro is just a really bitter red that has issues with efc coming up in the world sucks to be him.

5.) 09 Aug 2016 07:03:24
good post Danfield, Waro should take a leaf out of your book mate. I read the posts between ed25 and him and couldn't believe how twisted the man/ child is, shouldn't have been so surprised really as he has been on these pages before trying to wind people up. Every team has their share of neanderthal supporters but that should never outweigh the good ones from either of our clubs.
It would be nice to get that friendly rivalry spirit back, like it was before the prem era but I don't think it will ever be the same, more so for the newer generations. It's a shame as, like ed25, I was at the two games at the old wembley as a kid and the atmosphere was amazing. Fast forward to the new wembley and the semi final a few seasons back and there was a lot of animosity and fighting between both sets of our supporters. Sad to see mate.

That's how it should be mate. I would welcome your posts on here anytime.

7.) 09 Aug 2016 07:31:21
Great post mate. my late father was a red so I know a lot about both clubs history and have never considered myself bitter and enjoy banter with reds mates.
