Everton ready 'huge' third offer for Sigurdson. 'Player plus 45 Mill' is the rumour. If they are serious and a third offer would indicate they are, then why haven't they offered the 50 Mill, Swansea can then take it or leave it and we can all move on.

1.) 31 Jul 2017 17:40:42
I've heard the same, but that this is an agreed approach between the two clubs. fingers crossed this one gets over the line and then we can focus on bringing some speed to work alongside that quality.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 18:50:25
Ed any news of this.

{Ed025's Note - i know nothing about this rich mate..

28 Dec 2016 19:52:25
van dyke must be worth 60 mill after that start against spuds.

1.) 28 Dec 2016 20:25:35
Just gone down by 20 million, he lost out on a header by Ali who scored!

2.) 28 Dec 2016 21:23:59
yep noticed and was just about to post but you beat me to it. Funny how the commentators missed what was obvious to us.

3.) 29 Dec 2016 11:41:41
Well after that result surely we should get him on a free now. 😀.

The scale of Koeman's job is becoming more and more apparent every week now. Catch22 without the players we cannot progress and we cannot progress unless we can attract the players and to attract the players we need to be at least top 6.

Ergo as much as we want things to happen in the January window, nobody of quality will come unless we:
A) Pay over the odds

B) Pay wages over the odds

billscrocodiletears

1.) 03 Dec 2016 23:03:31
It does seem that is likely to be the case until we establish our credentials!

2.) 03 Dec 2016 23:25:27
Get the chequebook out farhad.

3.) 04 Dec 2016 18:40:38
Have to agree there is no quick fix to oour problems but let's see more youngsters given a go. Holgate was excellent today and Davies deserves a chance.

07 Jun 2016 06:43:36
Saints are worried that Koeman will come back and raid for their stars. Forster (is he better than what we have - Yes) , Van Dyke (in the long run he is no better than what we have) , Shane Long (about on a par with Naismith and better than Kone (although Koeman has worked with Kone before, we could be in for a surprise) ) .

billscrocodiletears

1.) 07 Jun 2016 07:08:11
I am sorry but I think Long is much better than Naismith and as for Lone and the like it's time for them to go.

2.) 07 Jun 2016 07:15:03
I really like Virgil van Dijk and would be better than Scott Dann for me but I am sure I read that he only signed a new contract recently through until 2022 so would cost far too much.
And Fraser Forster signed a new contract around a similar time through to 2021, but I would look to stump up the cash for a top keeper so worth looking at.

3.) 07 Jun 2016 08:04:02
Can't see Forster coming. Like has been said, he just signed a long term contract. Plenty other keepers about, Cillisen, Mandanda or Leno. If reports are true, Southampton are trying to stop Koeman coming back for players put into the deal. If so it's a shame as I'd like us to try for Saido Mane and Ryan Bertrand.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 08:42:55
No matter what happens I quite like the idea that none of us have known for weeks maybe months what is actually happening I Like the Way Moshiri goes about conducting business. I hope this can only bode well for the future.

5.) 07 Jun 2016 11:36:33
For all we know, there could be a buy out figure, in Forster's contract, Koeman wouled know that, so let's hope.

6.) 07 Jun 2016 12:51:07
is that the same shane long that picked Reading over us a few seasons ago? I really dislike him think at the time he said he never wants to join us,

7.) 07 Jun 2016 18:25:09
Decent enough player I suppose, but he's always just had one of those faces I'd love to smack. Dunno why. Guess he doesn't care thiugh in his mansion and ferrari. Haha.

06 Jun 2016 20:54:02
I too believe the Koeman deal will go through and the compensation negotiations are normal for someone of Koeman's stature in the game. As to the being offered a £100 Mill budget, as my Son In Law says (an RS by the way) that is nothing special, all the Prem Clubs will have a budget of similar size. Unless of course the £100 Mill is additional to the TV income we will get.

billscrocodiletears

{Ed025's Note - it will depend on what that £100m entails BCT, will it be that amount on direct transfers or will part of that go towards wages, agents fees and VAT etc?, i suppose we will have to wait and see but i think this moshiri is the real deal mate..

1.) 06 Jun 2016 21:19:02
Surely koeman would have asked those questions ed and liked the answers he got if its true that he is going to accept the job hope so.

{Ed025's Note - he and his advisors will have shogs, no one outside that room will know what was said but if he does sign on the dotted line then you would expect he was happy with the answers mate..

2.) 06 Jun 2016 21:24:01
Have no doubt whatsoever that he is the real deal. Certainly hit the ground running but there again you do not become a billionaire by being a mug.

{Ed025's Note - thats very true BCT...how did you make yours?.. :)

3.) 06 Jun 2016 21:37:51
cheers ed.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 09:28:32
saved up my threepence a week pocket money till I was 15 and legged it ed25, didn't smoke but invested in woodbines every pay day selling half a ciggy at an exorbitant sum on tick to the smokers that ran out of cash.

That looks a good side on paper. Need now for four players to step up, DCL, Siggy, Mina and Gomes. COYB.

25 Jan 2019 11:14:29
Good lad Tosun. Another Niasse but more potential. Some would do well to learn from these two.

billscrocodiletears

1.) 26 Jan 2019 09:16:25
I agree, with Tosun, I can't believe they won't give him an extended run in the team while they have allowed Sigurdsson and Walcott to put consistently put on poor performances for weeks on end. I think there are goals in there if he was given a chance to build confidence and learn how to play with Richarlson, Lookman etc. Tosun missed a few chances against Wolves on the opening day but to me, that was one of our best performances of the season, and Tosun was a big part running off the ball. The way we treat some players is baffling.

2.) 26 Jan 2019 12:29:28
Every Manager have their convictions about tactics, formation and the players within that system. Silva appears like Martinez and Koeman before him certainly has his favourites. The upshot is, that they are paid the big money and for that accept the responsibility. Fail today and almost certainly, Silva will start planning his holidays.

3.) 26 Jan 2019 15:01:54
Yes, let’s start sacking mangers every 6months because that’s the way to move forward and build.

4.) 26 Jan 2019 15:35:37
Did I say sack him. Do you think he will come under pressure or not?

5.) 26 Jan 2019 15:37:58
I am hoping that a win today will give a boost much needed and from here on in go on a run.

04 Jan 2019 16:53:16
Solanke 19 mill to bournemouth. Good player, worth £19 mill! Think DCL just as good personally. Priority a RW if one can be found in Jan. Balanced flanks, DCL, Tosun getting fed, no chopping and changing, we stand a good chance of top 10, higher I think Teams would have to fade above us.

billscrocodiletears

1.) 04 Jan 2019 17:36:09
I'm of the opinion that Tosun doesn't seem to be fancied by Silva. Granted Tosun hasn't exactly shone in his time here but I think he's a decent striker. He hasn't always had the service would be what the main problem is. As much as I like DCL, for me he doesn't score anywhere near enough goals. But he has time on his side to adapt his game.

I definitely agree that a RW/ RMF is needed. Walcott is simply not good enough on current form and seems to go missing in games. His decision making at times leaves a lot to be desired and he loses possession too much for me.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 18:03:58
19 million has definitely had a bit of Liverpool tax added. Niasse must be worth 25 mill at those prices.

Not sure he's even scored a goal yet has he?

{Ed0333's Note - the grand sum of 1 premier league goal for Liverpool and he’s been sold for £19 million. Maybe we can sell markovic and Lallana to them as well?

3.) 04 Jan 2019 19:06:13
I'd be happy if we got the £7 million being banded about mate.

4.) 04 Jan 2019 22:30:57
Id take Lallana of you in a heart beat Ed.

10 Dec 2018 21:59:10
Not good enough. Better Squad, better staff, same frustrating Everton.

billscrocodiletears

1.) 11 Dec 2018 06:49:50
It's since the Liverpool game, Watford were the better team for most of the game. Never mind a win against city and we will be back on track.

02 Dec 2018 21:33:57
I hope Mr Brands is already talking to Barcelona about Gomes, once again he was man of the match and that is saying something against the quality that Liverpool have. I would be surprised if talks are not happening because one thing is for sure the big European Clubs will be sniffing around. The other hope (big ask) is that we have identified a Striker/ Target man so that Richarlison can go back out on the wing.

billscrocodiletears

{Ed025's Note - spot on there BCT..

1.) 02 Dec 2018 23:54:34
He is a must. Best creative midfielder we had since arteta, maybe better than him tbh.

Right, we have a good striker coach, zouma turning out to be the Man. My question/ statement, with a supposed superior squad we are on course to finish lower than Sam. Brilliant run, lb, lw, rw, sorted need backups. We need a Benitez, to progress.

Not a case of sell to survive but basic economics and running a business. Contrary to the hype Mr Moshri has not put millions of his own money into purchases, what he has done is enable the Business to service debt/ deficit I. E. Income and spend on an even keel.

Gangly, does not seem to know his a*** from his elbow, but somehow seems to know what he is doing - in this case a footballer treated appallingly by one Everton Manager and I hope the lad does well in future endeavours and wish him well -. We all grow up, taken me 68 years, still trying to get there! Grandad is silly! is the oft quoted theme.

I think the key is patience. We are attempting to go as fast as possible without putting ourselves in jeopardy but even to move with relative caution it costs a lot more for players for any Club in the Premiership for obvious reasons add into that rumours of owners financial clout and Clubs will find it harder for bargains.

Need to do more study on the man instead of jumping on the bandwagon. One of the first along with Hoddle to introduce Sports Psychology and Sports Medicine, adopted modern methods of recovery. Not a one trick Pony, is he better than Silva, have no idea. Currently we are on 4 points better than we finished last season but also grasping for 8th, where exactly we finished last season. First season with Martinez we finished 5th, with Koeman 7th, consistently with Moyes we were 7th. When Alardyce came in it was because nobody would touch us, yet Everton fans slagged and slandered the bloke. So called fans/ supporters booing their own players and Manager at home games yeah that's cool. There are quite a few on this board who know football are involved in football and I suspect from some of the comments played a high standard but also a few that jump on the bandwagon of agreeing and sucking up to the current trend. I have been honest and said that, yes I thought Silva was the wrong man (reasons given) , but also said that if this current form is a sign then perhaps his methods may work. Giving it a rest now till next Season (busy Summer) , I look forward to further insult criticism etc! But reading will have to wait until August.

billscrocodiletears

{Ed025's Note - i have BCT and you seem to me to be condoning the job that fat sam done at our club mate, i dont know whether thats because you believe it or that you just dont like marco silva?, he was a blight on our history if you ask me and the plan should be for us all to look forward not back imo..

Precisely my point about Alardyce Toffee, he was brought in to carry out what it says on his can, no more no less, yet the bloke was slagged off for it. We finished 8th playing rubbish football. Bad buys under Brands/ Silva? How about Mina! Not any where near the standard required at this level.

billscrocodiletears

{Ed025's Note - if you enjoyed his tenure more than marco,s up to now then i suspect you will be in the minority BCT..
