van dyke must be worth 60 mill after that start against spuds.

1.) 28 Dec 2016 20:25:35
Just gone down by 20 million, he lost out on a header by Ali who scored!

2.) 28 Dec 2016 21:23:59
yep noticed and was just about to post but you beat me to it. Funny how the commentators missed what was obvious to us.

3.) 29 Dec 2016 11:41:41
Well after that result surely we should get him on a free now. 😀.

03 Dec 2016 21:37:24
The scale of Koeman's job is becoming more and more apparent every week now. Catch22 without the players we cannot progress and we cannot progress unless we can attract the players and to attract the players we need to be at least top 6.

Ergo as much as we want things to happen in the January window, nobody of quality will come unless we:
A) Pay over the odds

B) Pay wages over the odds

1.) 03 Dec 2016 23:03:31
It does seem that is likely to be the case until we establish our credentials!

2.) 03 Dec 2016 23:25:27
Get the chequebook out farhad.

3.) 04 Dec 2016 18:40:38
Have to agree there is no quick fix to oour problems but let's see more youngsters given a go. Holgate was excellent today and Davies deserves a chance.

07 Jun 2016 06:43:36
Saints are worried that Koeman will come back and raid for their stars. Forster (is he better than what we have - Yes) , Van Dyke (in the long run he is no better than what we have) , Shane Long (about on a par with Naismith and better than Kone (although Koeman has worked with Kone before, we could be in for a surprise) ) .

1.) 07 Jun 2016 07:08:11
I am sorry but I think Long is much better than Naismith and as for Lone and the like it's time for them to go.

2.) 07 Jun 2016 07:15:03
I really like Virgil van Dijk and would be better than Scott Dann for me but I am sure I read that he only signed a new contract recently through until 2022 so would cost far too much.
And Fraser Forster signed a new contract around a similar time through to 2021, but I would look to stump up the cash for a top keeper so worth looking at.

3.) 07 Jun 2016 08:04:02
Can't see Forster coming. Like has been said, he just signed a long term contract. Plenty other keepers about, Cillisen, Mandanda or Leno. If reports are true, Southampton are trying to stop Koeman coming back for players put into the deal. If so it's a shame as I'd like us to try for Saido Mane and Ryan Bertrand.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 08:42:55
No matter what happens I quite like the idea that none of us have known for weeks maybe months what is actually happening I Like the Way Moshiri goes about conducting business. I hope this can only bode well for the future.

5.) 07 Jun 2016 11:36:33
For all we know, there could be a buy out figure, in Forster's contract, Koeman wouled know that, so let's hope.

6.) 07 Jun 2016 12:51:07
is that the same shane long that picked Reading over us a few seasons ago? I really dislike him think at the time he said he never wants to join us,

7.) 07 Jun 2016 18:25:09
Decent enough player I suppose, but he's always just had one of those faces I'd love to smack. Dunno why. Guess he doesn't care thiugh in his mansion and ferrari. Haha.

06 Jun 2016 20:54:02
I too believe the Koeman deal will go through and the compensation negotiations are normal for someone of Koeman's stature in the game. As to the being offered a £100 Mill budget, as my Son In Law says (an RS by the way) that is nothing special, all the Prem Clubs will have a budget of similar size. Unless of course the £100 Mill is additional to the TV income we will get.

{Ed025's Note - it will depend on what that £100m entails BCT, will it be that amount on direct transfers or will part of that go towards wages, agents fees and VAT etc?, i suppose we will have to wait and see but i think this moshiri is the real deal mate..

1.) 06 Jun 2016 21:19:02
Surely koeman would have asked those questions ed and liked the answers he got if its true that he is going to accept the job hope so.

{Ed025's Note - he and his advisors will have shogs, no one outside that room will know what was said but if he does sign on the dotted line then you would expect he was happy with the answers mate..

2.) 06 Jun 2016 21:24:01
Have no doubt whatsoever that he is the real deal. Certainly hit the ground running but there again you do not become a billionaire by being a mug.

{Ed025's Note - thats very true BCT...how did you make yours?.. :)

3.) 06 Jun 2016 21:37:51
cheers ed.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 09:28:32
saved up my threepence a week pocket money till I was 15 and legged it ed25, didn't smoke but invested in woodbines every pay day selling half a ciggy at an exorbitant sum on tick to the smokers that ran out of cash.

26 May 2016 09:13:12
Warnock talks out of his rear orifice, he knows nothing about our Club and should keep it shut. The bloke that should be credited with improving Lukaku 'beyond recognition' is Big Dunc, simple as.

1.) 26 May 2016 10:23:20
Well said bill. I will give that Spanish fraud credit for nothing.

2.) 26 May 2016 11:18:55
Yeah true, but I wouldn't shout it from the rooftops if I was Dunc. The lad still can't head the ball.

Won 6-3 and Koeman not happy, told my son that he wouldn't be at us folding for 2 goals (other was way out of play) . Of course he was pleased with the win and the way we played in attack but isn't it refreshing to have a Manager like him who doesn't accept mediocracy. Would love us to revert back to the 3 (5) at the back system again, think it suits us. Question what is our best Team to put out now does anyone think.

1.) 06 Feb 2017 11:45:50
I would like to see Schneiderlin and Gueye holding give Macca and Barkley free role to cause havoc in midfield, Macca looks a lot happier playing further upfield and can press. Give Davies time to develop, and use Barry as support to the group. Rotate Lookman and Kev, and leave the big man to do what he does best, and stop bloody moaning when he's not running all over the pitch.

30 Dec 2016 20:19:18
Old adage in Sport and particularly football. You do not change a winning Team.

1.) 31 Dec 2016 06:56:34
Thought he would have learned after his team change selection against Norwich in the cup but nope, yet again changed a winning team.

At least Moyes took a penknife to games, this clown is taking pipe, slippers and oveltine.

I've seen more action in a nuns crutch than what half this shower is putting in.

27 Dec 2016 08:54:53
Good game yesterday, RK methods beginning to be taken on board, 3 or 5 improvements in the window and hopefully we can push on. Bit of advice for young Holgate, if you need to take one in the face or turn your back then take it in the face.

1.) 27 Dec 2016 13:16:18
Very difficult for a young kid to take one in the face but apart from that he played pretty well. He is just 20 years of age and has plenty of learning to do but up to now I don't see him making the type of mistakes that Stones still does make for City. Not sure about his best position since he is small at 5-11 for a center-back but he makes a great right-back or third center-back.

2.) 27 Dec 2016 14:12:57
he does make a good right back haven't noticed if he is two footed so don't know about on the left. certainly did okay in the middle. Mori is a bit of a worry for me at the moment, his reactions and anticipation are quite frankly appalling for an International and Argentinian at that.

3.) 27 Dec 2016 15:17:17
Agreed Bill about Mori, will be surprised if we don't bring in another center-back in the January window.

4.) 28 Dec 2016 07:37:19
Mike, Holgate is only 2cm shorter than Jags, and he's had a good career for us, I wouldn't worry too much. Plus at his age he may even grow a cm or two.

25 Dec 2016 20:50:02
Two years is what Ronald wanted and that is what he should have, personally I think this great Club has been in doldrums long enough and it will take longer than two years but RK is a start. Contradicting that, even after six months his RK's, mentality and methods should be sinking in to even the most thickest player by now, this Squad is good enough as it stands to beat the likes of Leicester and Hull (being realistic to these two and no disrespect intended) . If we do not get at least 4 points from the next two games, we are in trouble.

1.) 25 Dec 2016 21:26:37
Hi Bills good post mate I just wish more posters were like us and give the guy a decent chance, one with the new owner we have been waiting for a very long time, GuernsyBlue.

2.) 25 Dec 2016 22:10:11
I'm aboard that boat above all the way.

3.) 26 Dec 2016 11:06:30
I think most fans are behind him and can see progress is being made. Yes there are those poor souls who have been sucked into a downer based on years of under achievement. but they are a minority and will change their views when real progress becomes more evident. I feel I understand their negativity. but I can see the club is making a genuine effort to right past wrongs and in a couple of years I will be either very happy or very sad! But a bumpy ride is expected and also good and bad times. but that is part of being a supporter isn't it?

4.) 26 Dec 2016 12:13:01
Hi Degsy good post mate, GuernseyBlue.

5.) 26 Dec 2016 13:32:28
No matter how good your team is your going to have good and bad times. As you say part of being a supporter and part of being a team.

The past is the past. No one can change. All are powerless in that regard.

In the present and future something can be done. Imho the efforts of all involved at present and what they are doing for the future of this club is more than adequate. Real progress is being made. Just as we were sliding under RM the reverse is happening now. It took time for us to slide under RM.

As it will take time to ascend under Koeman and Walsh. Next season I expect is where we'll see real progress. Both came far too late in the last window to have any impact.

The future is bright Blues. We have to believe and always support the team.

22 Dec 2016 13:46:09
With our new setup (albeit with a couple on the board from the old guard that maybe have not learned from past mistakes yet) , I wonder how much messing up we will do in this Window.

Cheeky, especially as how someone at the Club was daft enough to write a 10 mill compensation into his contract and even offer him a contract extension based on one seasons results. Can't see this happening again under Moshri.

How little faith. Dan are you 80 or born in 80. If you know your History and all that! We will fill a 60000, easy enough. Many cannot afford Season tickets but many many more can attend games on an ad hock basis.

666 not aware any mistakes were made in the Summer, we wanted Koeman so had to be patient, when we got him it was late in the transfer window, then we went after a DoF and got the man we wanted but again very late on. Agree with Ed001 vis a vis a boot up the backside for Barkley, it was his ball that led to our first goal today.

It won't go tits up though. In Koeman we have a proven winner who enjoys International respect and importantly the respect of his Squad. With the other guy, we (well me and a few others) just knew he was a disaster waiting to happen. Why the heck he was given a contract extension at the end of just one season is beyond me.

I shouldn't get to worried as our style of play will develop away from home as RK's influence takes greater hold. At the moment believe it or not the quality in depth is still not there and the process of identifying the players that fit RK's profile is ongoing. The summer and pre-season will see further changes for the better. This is only 7 1/ 2 months into an initial 2 year project on the playing side (longer on the commercial and new stadium side) , but our progress has been in my view ahead of schedule so far.

Keato156, wouldn't get carried away with all this new found money statement. It puts us on a footing were our debts have been able to be levelled out and with reasonable expectations of a new stadium. However in the realms of football owning billionaires in the Premiership it puts us in all probability about where our league position is.

Just need the depth in Squad quality now.
