Not Everton related, but Emiliano Sala’s flight from France to Cardiff disappeared last night. My thoughts go out to his family, and hopefully he is found safe.

If as reported Andy Carroll is available for as little as 2m, would he not be a useful short term solution?

Only on loan.

22 Jan 2019 12:23:53
Not even on loan! Not good enough, always injured and nowhere near better than we already have. Did you see his miss the other day?

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Jan 2019 14:11:31
Well that told me😳. Then again if it’s down to chances missed we would have no forward line😹.

One thing Moyes did right was he had a smaller tighter squad with excellent team spirit, it seem that as we all wished for greater spending power we didn't allow for reckless and under researched pre purchase policies. Even with so called chief scout or DoF we have failed miserably.
The downside now is trimming the squad, players we have paid over the odds for or who have grossly underperformed are having to be loaned as no one is willing to pay the price we are asking for!
Is it a case of be careful what you wish for and of course are the right people making the decisions?
Of this years crop Digne is looking good Gomes has talent as does Richarlison, however Mina seems to be taking time to adapt.
In a season we had so many high hopes for it again is at this point an abject farce and it feels like we are going nowhere and have no answer to our misfiring tactics!
No doubt we will need to be patient and see what happens in the window, but if we have to sell before we buy I won't hold my breath and wait!

The horrible, awful news being reported today about Emiliano Sala should put everything in to perspective. What must his friends, family and everyone connected with Nantes and Cardiff City be going through. Our prayers and thoughts should be with them all.

{Ed025's Note - im sure they are duaney..

So i maybe over the top and harsh on the players we bought, well forgive me but, has anyone of you who claim progress been watching recent performances? they 're professional footballers, christ they train together every day, match days they perform like they hate the job, and each other.

players arguing between themselves, a goalkeeper who blames all and sundry for his errors, no team spirit. i don't advocate his return but the only one who could get this lot to perform is SA. he can get the best out of deadwood. at least his agricultural style resembled a plan and they had some fight.

and by the way they have now had over twenty games, surely some kind of understanding between players must now exist. i don't expect a miracle just some sort of cohesion and desire. signings from Barcelona don't in themselves guarantee a success. there's a reason why they left, i stand by my comments, we continually bring in poor quality in. if you recruit from relegated sides you get relegation quality, about time some took a reality check. club and supporters alike.

{Ed033's Note - Just think what could have happened if SA had implemented an aggressive style instead of the "agricultural style".

22 Jan 2019 10:42:07
To do that would have meant him having a little faith in the players Ed033 which he clearly didn't.

Oldtimer so would u like to still have sam?

22 Jan 2019 12:23:48
We would have been a better team under Allerdyce I am certain, his record proves that over many years. Bolton where very good to watch and West Ham where not bad either, but he did a job which was all he was appointed to do not given a chance by directors or fans.
He was paid a lot to keep us in the prem good luck to him.

we wer never going down we wer midtable when he took over this sam saved us talk is nonsense.

Nobody said he saved us. He fulfilled his brief though and had us finish a respectable 8th. What position will we finish under Mr Silva, unless he changes tac.

sooooo. bernard not strong enough get rid, richarlison not good enough get rid, that gomes is terrible get rid, mina is awful get rid, silva terrible sack i'm and while am at it that brands can go aswell how dare he do what he was asked and replace players with better ones. and that mosheri he can go aswell what sort of owner doesn't spend 300m every window.

sounds ridiculous doesn't it? that's what most of you sound like. we are a better squad than last year and come this time next year will be stronger again and year after stronger again. Spurs did it the right way buy young players and give them time to gel, that's the model brands is following, buy u25s in the hope by the time there 29/ 30 wer battling at the top end of the table.
Time is needed, fickle fans arnt, go follow city or liverpool if u want instant success, stick with everton if u want to be part of the journey.

22 Jan 2019 09:45:14
But the results show we have gone backwards johny it's ok saying spurs did it, but lots of teams try it and fail just like we are doing . and what is wrong with instant success - would you turn it down?

Is there some kind of a glitch with the site Eds? One of my messages is posted twice on Banter, and so is one of johny1989 on the Rumours page.

{Ed002's Note - No idea but in the big scheme of things I will learn to live with it.}

22 Jan 2019 07:17:52
At least your post was put on I tried to post for the first time ever and it never got put on so I think I will go back to just reading the site every now and then without contributing.

{Ed001's Note - the sites are being upgraded to a new version of HTML so there are going to be glitches. It would help if people used the contact form to tell us about problems, rather than just throwing their toys out of the pram about it.}

Thanks Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - welcome. It is difficult as things like your connection dropping as you click submit can also cause problems, as well as our hosting company upgrading their security and Ed033's work to update the HTML. If people do have problems we have a contact form at the bottom of the page they can use to get directly in touch with Ed033.}

Can you do anything about the glitches at Everton Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if anyone could help with that, other than maybe a certain coach with a 100% record with England? ;-)

22 Jan 2019 13:27:21
Thats not funny ed, he nearly cost me a son.

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry to hear that johny, but I would love to know how he did that?}

Bolasie has cut short his loan to villa and is back AT everton then we defiantly won't be bringing anyone in.

21 Jan 2019 21:59:24
Niasse out now Bolaise back, Martinez/ Koeman/ Fat Sam/ Silva why is everything at EFC one step forward two steps back. At least I had the eighties.

Keep the faith you youngsters it will come good one day. ⏳⏭️.

{Ed0333's Note - I keep saying this but I would love an Everton team that was strong and a formidable adversary like you were in the 1780’s, sorry I mean the 1980’s, same difference I suppose lol. No seriously two strong teams in Liverpool would be such a boost for the City and English footy in general.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Jan 2019 08:55:21
Is Bolasie THAT bad a player to have as an option down the right?

Granted he’s no world beater, especially since his injury, but he may bring a touch more balance to the side.

{Ed002's Note - He is a LW, Everton already have half a dozen of those.~

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Jan 2019 09:11:14
surely just sell him now for whatever we can get to get his 70k back off the wage bill.

Agree0 0Disagree

22 Jan 2019 12:28:48
My mistake Ed. I had him down as a RW.

{Ed002's Note - Like most wingers he can play on either side, but he, like 83% of Everton players, is primarily a LW.}
