I don't get all the hate towards pickford yes he has had a bad season but the whole squad had a bad season can't blame 1 player . I get he needs to concentrate more but i for one would keep him he is still young. All he needs is time to develop He will come good plus not many shot stoppers better than him in the prem let the kid grow.

I’m not convinced long term he’s good enough. This is a huge season for him and if he doesn’t do it, he will be out the door next summer. As for one of the best shot stoppers not according to the stats, he’s been one of the worst the last 2 seasons.

Evocallum. Come on mate, criticism is certainly not hate. Too much use of the word hate in my opinion. Pickford is a good one off Goalkeeper (IE International) , however there is no denying that consistency and concentration is not currently in his armoury. If a well respected coach and man manager such as Antonelli see's a problem then there is a problem. From the outside looking in, he is a very good reaction goalkeeper and he certainly did excellent against spuds, with the extra protection that Allan and Decouroui (spelling) bring he (Pickford) hopefully will cause his critics to change opinion.

The problems with Pickford started when he came back from the world cup with a massive ego and a chip on his shoulder he thought he was the best thing since sliced bread hopefully Carlo and his team have told him otherwise.

{Ed025's Note - if not they can always contact me BMD, i will tell them mate..

He doesn’t need replacing. yet but he does need competition!
I am happy and willing to give each and every player who pulls on the shirt for us a clean slate from the start of this season, if Carlo puts his faith in them then I will as well!
However. if that faith is abused I am sure they won’t be near the new look first team for long.

OTT definitely. The singular issue is no competition. The last 2 England games where he is under immense competitive pressure from 3 very very good keepers, he was brilliant. Large spells of nothing to do but some great 1 on 1 saves. Usual strong distribution.
The match against Spuds. He saved 2 certain goals. Close to being MOTM as per the comments of G Nev who picked Allan but moments later stated Pickford was unlucky not to get the nod.

He is going to make mistakes, keepers do that, even the very very best. He's still incredibly young for a GK and will make more forward steps than backward ones.
With his midfield finally showing some teeth, his job and that of the back line (though leaving Coleman in 1 on 1s isn't comfortable to watch) is much more solid.

Leave the kid alone and aim your fire on the issue of no nos2.
He organised us and England and is clearly a captain in the making.

Great shot stopper, but I hate how the crowd get to him and how he laughs off his mistakes! Instead of taking it serious!

Bit of a love-in for Pickford suddenly.
It wasn't just a poor season, he's been calamitous since he arrived.
He has proved he can be an excellent keeper, on a number of occasions he pulls out some blinding saves. Whenever he plays for England, he is outstanding and gives confidence to supporters that he offers a great chance of a clean sheet.
But then he plays for us and we don't get the England performances, we get an arrogant, ego driven clown who is more concerned about showing off than trying to do his best for the team.
It severely p*sses me off how he always gets the ball and basically dares the opponent to charge him down before kicking it away. How is that productive? Take the kick with more time and zero pressure and the ball is likely to go where you want. Rush the kick at the last minute because of cockiness and it just flies out of play (and inevitably one day gets clipped and straight into the net, like DCL/ DeGea) .
Who remembers against Newcastle? We won that game but he decided it was more important to have a spat with the fans and basically gifted Newcastle the win.
That damn stupid Origi goal doesn't need much explanation as to his error prone decision making.
I could go on and on but this has already turned into a lengthy post and I've only just scratched the surface.
Pickford is our biggest weak link if we want to progress!

Pickford a captain in the making is one of the most extraordinary comments I have ever read.
