just seen another link to blanc again ed25. do we think sam be here next year hope not also brands thing as gone quiet again.

bretto

{Ed025's Note - things seem to be changing daily bretto, blanc would be a rank outsider but i feel we have a good chance of landing brands mate..

1.) 26 Apr 2018 19:33:40
There was a meeting today between Sam and FM. no idea of the outcome.

2.) 26 Apr 2018 19:38:18
sorry meant to add. AND. there is a Board meeting tomorrow.

{Ed025's Note - cheers lance..

3.) 26 Apr 2018 20:21:44
Guess we're just have to wait and see.

4.) 26 Apr 2018 20:46:05
He is staying.

17 Apr 2018 14:48:09
ed02 what do you think about mino raiola think he be pushing more of his clients on to us I think which could be a bad thing as he going to try get best deal for himself as much as possible.

bretto

{Ed002's Note - Mino is a really decent guy and a great facilitator. He won't necessarily be pushing his clients on to Everton (unless you want Martin Jol as manager) but regardless of what he ends up doing it won't be cheap for the club.

Obviously the likes of Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Verratti and Donnarumma are not going to be joining Everton. The likes of Balotelli and Niang come with baggage and should probably be avoided; and the likes of Mastour and Narsingh won't be much of an improvement. The pick might be Kluivert - but I doubt Everton would be of interest to him.}

1.) 17 Apr 2018 16:33:00
Great information Ed002 as usual. I would suspect Walsh would be leaving regardless of Brands coming or not. He must be aware of the situation and know his time is limited. I am surprised that Moshiri does not have a Plan B. What do you think?

{Ed002's Note - They will take their time. Not a thing to be rushed.}

2.) 17 Apr 2018 20:03:57
Thanks for info ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

3.) 17 Apr 2018 22:40:58
Love Ed25 one of us views, but credit to you Ed02, you say it how it is and great knowledge of football, very interesting read above, big thumbs up from me.

{Ed002's Note - You are very sweet.}

04 Apr 2018 13:18:50
Ed 02
Do you know anything about story about brands and if true do you think Steve walsh will still be involved in scouting process. Thank you.

bretto

{Ed002's Note - Marcel Brands has been approached by Everton on a couple of occasions since before Christmas via third party. The expectation is that he will join and replace Walsh. I said before when we discussed that that I don’t se how Walsh could accept a demotion and stay - and I can’t see that changing.}

1.) 04 Apr 2018 14:32:54
Hi ED 02 Thanks for information much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 04 Apr 2018 15:21:14
If he was to come in Ed, would you expect him to head the manager search if Allardyce is sacked or will Moshiri and the board already have their plan?

{Ed002's Note - It would be nonsensical not to ask (or have already asked - which I suspect is the case) his advice, even if they have someone in mind already Joe.}

3.) 04 Apr 2018 16:36:34
Thanks mate.

4.) 04 Apr 2018 22:30:13
The reports I’ve seen are saying that he will join before the end of the month. This would seem sensible given that this summers World Cup could potentially hamper player signings etc.

07 Jan 2018 19:04:41
Hi ed 02 if you have time do you know of any left backs everton are intrested in. Thank you.

bretto

{Ed002's Note - I would not rule out Patrick van Aanholt. It looks right now that MU will not get the player they want so Shaw will stay at least until the summer.}

1.) 07 Jan 2018 19:18:05
Thank you thought van aannholt might be option not keen on him.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 19:48:35
I was never to sure Everton would pay the sort of money United want for Shaw anyway. I like Rose of Spurs but also I reckon with Mr Levy doing the negotiating we would pay over the odds. Maybe Mr Alardyce has other 'names' in mind, we will have to wait and see.

07 Sep 2017 17:53:12
Niasse has been brought back in to to the squad hope he proves us all wwrong.

bretto

1.) 07 Sep 2017 18:55:58
I would be made up if he came good. His attitude was perfect last season. Good luck Oumar!

2.) 07 Sep 2017 20:29:39
I think most of us would live him to do well with how he has acted in a very difficult situation. Embarrasses lukaku and Barkley in my opinion.

3.) 07 Sep 2017 23:09:29
Mentioned this the other Day, glad Ronnie has done a uturn and prepared to give the guy another chance, might see us through to January, maybe even longer depending on the outcome, I think the guy was harshly treated but never whinged once, he got stuck into the u23 team, went out to Hull and got great praise from Unsworth, I really hope it works out for the guy.

4.) 08 Sep 2017 11:20:36
Not landing a striker has forced Ronnie hand, I remember last January when he didn't get the players he wanted and stuck Tom Davies in which at the time I thought he's done it to prove a point to the board, let's hope Niasse can do the same, though whether it was a lack of striker that forced the u turn, or the Barkley and Rooney episodes has made him back down on the player who knows, but glad the guy has got a chance to prove himself.

{Ed025's Note - i think it stinks of desperation myself baz..

5.) 08 Sep 2017 13:41:40
Desperate time call for desperate measures unfortunately. We can only hope he can pull it off.

6.) 08 Sep 2017 14:17:12
Maybe his confidence will improve now that Koeman has accepted him into the team. I hope so 'cause i would love for him to show his talents. After all he can score goals, under23's and Hull. Just needs a run of games not 5 mins here and there.

7.) 08 Sep 2017 12:54:53
Could be Ed, trying to make a point for the January window, I would like to think with the Barkley and then Rooney he has looked at Niasse and his attitude and prepared to give the guy a chance, let's not forget Ronnie judged the guy after a pre season, since then he's bedded in, played for a premier league team and I think given the chance he will knock a few in for us., then he will refuse to sign a new contract and go to Spurs on a free luck we have.

{Ed025's Note - love it baz..

8.) 09 Sep 2017 12:26:23
Too be honest I don't think he was ever given a first chance but what a decent guy, all the talk on how others treated our club and we gave them everything, this guy basically had everything taken away from him and here he is just wanting to play football. I hope he gets a good career with or without us.

{Ed002's Note - His problem has been settling and nothing more. Clubs were willing to give him a chance and the likes of Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Manchester United and Newcastle all looked before Everton bit. If Everton can get him settled then they do indeed have a very good squad players on their hands.}

9.) 11 Sep 2017 00:08:31
Another 2 goals for Niasse today, mark my words in a year or so Unsworth will be the next Everton manager, he gets the players playing for him and seems to have a system set up we crave for in the first team rather than the unbalanced shite Ronnie keeps sticking to.

ed 25 What do you think of bolaise me and lad who I sit next to said he has had same injury as yannick. He said really affected his running ability and that he never got back to his best. I feel sorry yannick as thought he was playing well before his injury and at palace he was properly my Favorite non everton player.

bretto

{Ed025's Note - he is really struggling bretto, i was very happy when we bought him as he was a thorn in the side to us and terrified defences with his pace, his injury was bad but it should not stop him passing a ball to someone in a blue shirt, now i dont know whether thats down to the injury or lack of confidence but he has been bloody awful since he came back, im not giving up on him just yet but we need to see some improvement from him mate..

1.) 24 Apr 2018 19:00:37
I was talking to my brother before about Bolasie and my thoughts are I'm willing to give him until Jan let him get a full pre season under his belt and then see if he can get back to his best if not let him leave in Jan.

2.) 24 Apr 2018 20:02:59
Ye he needs time to come back i think we see best out of him in summer.

23 Apr 2018 14:58:55
will be interesting to see what atmosphere is like tonight ed25. I think that there is going to be lot of alladyce out tonight do u agree.

bretto

{Ed025's Note - there well could be bretto, i hope we just win the game and it goes off with no anti sam chanting as we dont want to be seen or heard in the media as toxic fans mate, let the men in charge decide his fate..

1.) 23 Apr 2018 17:37:44
I am shouting it now mates, alladyce out tonight, alladyce out tonight, alladyce out tonight, lol.

2.) 23 Apr 2018 17:38:36
And Ken&Co.

3.) 23 Apr 2018 17:39:41
I think with Moshiri being there, the chants will be getting fired to let Moshiri see how unhappy the fans are. But I agree with you ed, let's just win the game.

4.) 23 Apr 2018 19:11:37
First time in my life, I would accept defeat if it got rid of Sam? most boring football I have seen from him?

5.) 23 Apr 2018 19:54:13
A valid point Ed last thing we need is to be seen as toxic by the media, hopefully after recent weeks and the survey results it will give a strong enough indication that the fan base is not happy with Sam.

{Ed025's Note - it will ST and then its up to farhad and co to do their jobs mate..

6.) 23 Apr 2018 22:35:22
Wasn't toxic just quiet. Need him out though.

10 Apr 2018 13:32:13
What does everyone think of blanc link seems weird one hasn't managed for two years. Also if anyone is interested their is horse in grand national called outsam think might have bet on that one.

bretto

1.) 10 Apr 2018 14:09:46
I would take rip van Winkle if it meant a change of management., even he would be less sleepy than the dross at the moment.

01 Apr 2018 11:45:59
Ed 25 think everyone is dispointed regarding result yesterday but city just gave us master class don't think any team in prem would got near then yesterday they were on top off game. Let face they gone win leauge next week most likely. Best team in prem since invincibles. a lot walked out half time yesterday which is there decision but I don't agree with the booing.

bretto

{Ed025's Note - city are excellent bretto and nobody can argue with that, my problem is with the application of our players who basically sat back in awe of them and it was like a training session for city in that first half, where was the grit, the determination and the want?, its not all sams fault but when he picks players like schneiderlin who was picked out of bloody mindedness to the supporters he does himself no favours at all, you cant tell me that davies or baningime would not have performed any better than that waste of space and thats why sam should be thrown out ASAP, he is out of touch with the supporters and the sooner he is gone the better imo mate..

1.) 01 Apr 2018 12:47:56
City had 90% possession? that has never happened before in the prem, it was a disgrace, next week? aaaaaaaaaaaaa.

{Ed025's Note - im expecting the same again stig..

2.) 01 Apr 2018 13:15:37
Next week we may well get beat but never again will this side put in a performance like they did in the first half. Could not believe that Sam had picked Schneiderlin and Rooney together in a deep role. For those fans saying Rooney just strolled around, WTF do they think Schneiderlin did. I honestly did not see him break into a trot. How many times did we see Jags and Coleman coming forward into the DM role, that tells you something. And yes I did sleep in a spare room again last night.

3.) 01 Apr 2018 13:20:53
Couldn't say whether Davies or Baningime would have done better but I am hopeful that they might have at least run about a bit.

4.) 01 Apr 2018 13:45:20
Well I thought we were in for a thrashing. 1-3 isn't so bad
;)

One of the best 3 sides of all time against the worst or close to worst EFC team I've ever seen in 40 odd years.

Yes early to late 90s (other than Joe's fluke run 95) levels .

I think LFC are going to score more.
The top 6 have taken a giant step away from us. We were running in a economic bubble the last 10 years with the recession etc. It gave the poorer clubs a false reading.

Now we are rich but still City out spent us 4 to 1. As did most of the top6.

MOSHIRI £s will do little more than keep us Bobbin about between 10th and 6th on a good year. Time will tell but the big boys have turned into monsters and that's a fact.

5.) 01 Apr 2018 14:24:18
3-1 NOT BAD? could have been 8 easy mate?

6.) 01 Apr 2018 15:58:14
Did you not read my opening sentence correctly?

7.) 01 Apr 2018 15:43:06
Excellent points ED025 but could you or ED002 please explain to me how you can say waste of space when describing Scheiderlin but Big H is vilified and called toxic for calling him deadwood. There is too much talk of toxicity on this site and ED002 is joining the debate.
I've just watched Arsenal get booed off at half time, I've seen Newcastle fans protest against Mike Ashley. West Brom fans aren't exactly happy with Pardew and Southampton fans just 'love' their board.
What are we all supposed to do? Do impressions of Beatles or One Direction fans all game - screaming every time we touch the ball (it would still have been quiet against city) or expect more from players who make a very good living off our team and should understand how important they are to us?
Apparently our motto shouldn't be' not satisfied with anything less than the best' but 'don't worry about any effort we love you Everton'
If we didn't show our appreciation of players who try their best ED002 might have a point but we love triers. Trouble was there weren't too many of them on the pitch Saturday.

{Ed025's Note - we have different views bw, myself as a passionate evertonian believe that anything less than 100% is unacceptable whether that be from the players, manager, board or supporters, if they are not doing their job then i want them out its as simple as that, i dont buy into this state of utopia where even when the team is not performing we should be happy thats an absolute crock, we pay our money and have the absolute right to criticize if we are not getting good value for it, and i dont give a monkeys toss what other people think mate..

8.) 01 Apr 2018 17:28:42
Totally agree Ed025
I think the 'passives' / 'blind faiths' actually do more harm than those wanting their team to do their best.

{Ed025's Note - accepting mediocrity has been one of our biggest failings over the years mate...and its time it stopped..

9.) 01 Apr 2018 17:34:18
Ye I agree with everything think ed25 said but think we have average players. Out of players who would get in top 6 side. Pickford and coleman when he gets back to full fitness are one i think good enough for top 6 side.

10.) 01 Apr 2018 17:34:37
NSNO
Simple.

04 Feb 2018 14:51:28
Ed 25 do you think allardyce and Walsh be here in summer I do not. Unsworth could be off to oxford and koeman is set for Holland job.

bretto

{Ed025's Note - i certainly hope not bretto..

1.) 04 Feb 2018 15:17:20
I blame all this on walsh, said as soon as he come here, he got lucky on afew and that's it,

{Ed025's Note - he is obviously a decent scout BB, but as a DOF hes a waste of space mate..

2.) 04 Feb 2018 15:26:00
Just seems like dof hasn't worked at everton and most other prem club only tends to work in Spain.

{Ed002's Note - It has worked well at MC and Chelsea. It works well in Germany, Italy and France.}

3.) 04 Feb 2018 16:08:55
Director of Football is an excellent concept and does work well in Countries and at Clubs that understand the post. In our case it seems we have attempted to run before we can walk and certainly not done due diligence on the appointment made. It is very hard not to come over as being personal but Mr Walsh is not a DoF, it is as simple as that, he should have been appointed and remained his comfort zone playing to his apparent strengths.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that mate..

4.) 04 Feb 2018 15:39:28
Fair enough ed 02 I know it worked very well at sevilla and we have been linked with psv director of football. Ed 02 do you belive sam will be in charge in summer or do u think everton will look for someone who can be there for next 3 to 5 years.

{Ed002's Note - I expect him to see out his contract Bretto.}

5.) 04 Feb 2018 15:50:57
It might well work in these places ed, but it definitely needs the right people in place. You have pointed this out before and it clearly shows in the way ours is being run.

6.) 04 Feb 2018 16:28:57
Ed002 do you have any information if Everton are actually looking at finding a new DOF? Do you have any idea who may be available and who would be a good fit?

{Ed002's Note - It was suggested a couple of weeks ago that Everton has an interest in Marcel Brands but I am not aware of any approach by Everton to PSV for Brands - although another English side did obtain permission to talk with him in late November. Common sense would dictate that Steve Walsh should go back to doing what he does best, but I suspect a demotion at Everton would not be something he would consider. There are a couple of people available who would do a good job but I don't want to suggest the names of people Everton has no interest in, or people who would not be interested in a move to Everton.}

7.) 04 Feb 2018 18:31:34
Thanks Ed 002, any chance that you would take the job please? You are the most knowledgable person about football I know. We could have a whip around if it means a drop in salary.

{Ed002's Note - Sadly I rather doubt the folks of Merseyside would accept me with "Oops Mrs Worthington" Cockney banter as I swagger along in my Pearly Queen outfit.}

8.) 04 Feb 2018 19:51:23
On the contrary Ed002, you would fit in very well with the pantomime that is Everton at the moment.

9.) 04 Feb 2018 20:09:41
Thanks for info ed 02 much appreciated.

10.) 04 Feb 2018 21:34:30
Only just hit me. As a Manager in my opinion no chance but as a DoF we couldn't go far wrong with one Mr Glen Hoddle.

11.) 04 Feb 2018 23:35:50
Dof must be a specialist job. When Michael emanalo (spelling) was at Chelsea before Monaco, I'd never heard of him at all before then. Did he have football background?
I'm not a fan of dof role. Much prefer the manager to have control of all aspects of the club a la Alex Ferguson at utd. He oversaw all that went on with the club from transfers to training to youth set up.
Just don't see the point of one. Have a commercial director for dealing with aponsorships etc and a person who negotiates transfers but in terms of identifying players that should be scouts and managers job.
Also manager should set a formation and playing style throughout the club, from under 9 to first team.
