2 points deducted via the bobble.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Apr 2024 14:06:03
Great outcome if true.

08 Apr 2024 14:13:31
It's a bloody joke. Punished twice in the same season. Yes ED different periods blah blah. Going to be appealed, so reduced to slap on the wrist. Not fit for purpose.

08 Apr 2024 14:06:03
Great outcome if true.

08 Apr 2024 14:24:35
The club have made a statement they will appeal due to the inconsistency in punishment process.

08 Apr 2024 15:06:00
Could the appeal give a larger points deduction?

Was the Forrest one earlier in the season for this season or previous ones and could they face a further deduction?

08 Apr 2024 15:33:28
It not a great outcome by any stretch of the imagination its a complete and utter farce.

08 Apr 2024 15:36:11
No we won't get a larger deduction as the players for card appeals can. Hence why everyone thought Forest claim of no appeal was utterly baffling. We appeal 100% and hope to get 1 back. Seems the hinge is £18m against the loss revenue of sponsorship from you know who for £20m. let's try not to Ground hog day a few months ago and blindly set off the 02 as some of us have to re re re read the same cut and paste nonsense as per above already.

08 Apr 2024 15:48:33
Do agree with you SA it is a complete farce and shambles.

I was expecting more and so we're others, the levels of inconsistency is comical, but we know our fate now have few PTS gap and the game in hand, think need to move on and see what happens next season with ourselves and others.

08 Apr 2024 18:03:51
This is a huge problem that will not go away. We will be forced to sell our best players at discounted prices since all other teams know that we have to sell. If we don't get our finances in order next year will see further points deducted.

{Ed025's Note - well thats really cheered me up Mike...cheers mate.. :)

08 Apr 2024 20:41:22
Sorry Ed025 but we have to face the facts, we are in deep doo-doo! I wish that I could see the bright side like GB but at the moment the light at the end of the tunnel has gone out.

{Ed025's Note - sorry Mike i was being pedantic there mate, i think you are right, no i know you are right, im so disappointed with this club and what it has become that i sometimes mask that with an attempted bit of humour....it seems that im not very good at it.. :)

08 Apr 2024 20:44:28
Disgrace the way the club is being treated. wouldn't do it to any teams in the top 6? Getting punished twice in one season is outrageous.

{Ed025's Note - we have made a lot of mistakes at board level Grantham, and we did deserve sanctions, but this to me is blitzkrieg mate and it seems they wont stop until plucky old Everton are dismantled bit by bit mate, i do believe they have an agenda against us..

09 Apr 2024 17:02:04
Are the majority of cost due to the stadium? Will this all end when we move in?

I don't understand how Everton just hemorrhages money.

The majority of big earners are gone and the net spend over the past few years is extremely healthy. Or even with all that are the current wages just unsustainable? I don't see how it can be reduced significantly more and stay competitive in this league. Is Evertons income just extremely low compared to other pre teams? It is it all down to the stadium?

{Ed002's Note - it has built up with the stadium, the debt, the spending on transfers and the wages. It needs the ownership issue resolved as the first step.}

08 Apr 2024 13:18:02
Potter has turned down Ajax. Obviously got something lined up for summer.

Us, Utd, England?.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2024 15:38:07
Not us not England. Why Ajax? He's got to get this next one right or he does untold damage to his career. Also he got £12m from Chelsea so he can keep the heating on a little longer. I wonder if Howe will get the bullet in summer ?.

08 Apr 2024 16:07:23
Won't be us FBS agree, tho England strong possibility if Southgate as touted goes to Utd.

Thought all along Howe goes this summer and obvious candidate for us and the England job.

Don't think we get either for now.

08 Apr 2024 16:53:20
Southgate to Utd makes me laugh. We are stuck with alladyche until his contract runs out.

08 Apr 2024 17:27:13
You know Potter has tasted the “ high life” and apart from becoming a multi millionaire (only football) , it didn’t turn out to well. He might just fancy the challenge if we stay in the Prem that is.

08 Apr 2024 18:26:36
He’ll find someone much more attractive than us at the moment. We are a mess. No one is wanting to touch us with a barge pole. We can’t get sponsors, players or even a buyer. It’s just crazy.

Potter will guide his time until someone else is promoted somewhere and he’ll take a job there. West Ham, Villa, Newcastle… he’ll take something like that.

Why come to a club where the owner is clueless and the new potential owners are disliked at their other clubs.

08 Apr 2024 19:34:52
Graham Potter’s been found out in England. I’d rather have Dyche.

{Ed025's Note - your right Peter, we wouldn,t want to play like the Brighton side of 2 years ago mate.. :)

09 Apr 2024 17:04:33
Is Howe genuinely under pressure? Sure I read he was an Everton fan, that might just be a lie though.

{Ed001's Note - he is and he is. Very much an Everton fan.}

10 Apr 2024 09:32:54
…. thing is Potter left 2 years ago and they were playing much the same, probably better. I’ve never understood the Potter fascination. With what we have at our disposal there’s no way we could play the same as Brighton 2 years ago anyway. I think Brightons set up behind the scenes is what we should be looking towards, not the ex manager that has been found out at this level (Chelsea)

{Ed002's Note - All of the staff left.}

08 Apr 2024 12:27:50
Being reported we will accept bids of over £40 million for DCL, is this value about right.

{Ed002's Note - Everton really need assured sales by June 30 and clubs will know that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2024 12:36:21
Looks like big changes are coming concerning our current Team.

08 Apr 2024 12:37:19
What a mess.

We need to sell players to raise funds, therefore we need to get the best prices available, however if we need guaranteed sales before 30th June which other clubs will be aware of that which automatically weakens our negotiating position!

Just hope that whomever we do sell (likely Onana and DCL) there are a couple of interested parties to help us get a reasonable fee for them.

08 Apr 2024 12:53:02
Looks like our Team as we know it will be no more, maybe getting rid and hopefully finding replacement players from the lower leagues will help us move on, could be a blessing in disguise.

{Ed002's Note - Certainly the club have been scouting a replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite. I think there will be a lot of departures in the summer.}

08 Apr 2024 12:53:29
Surely we can't get anywhere near £40 million for him now?

That was the reported fee back when he was actually scoring goals. That was years ago now, the lad is older and scoring a much lower rate.

Realistically, which teams would be after him that could offer that sort of money?

08 Apr 2024 13:13:48
On the plus side, he’s been fit and playing for a while now. He still had the attributes that managers will be looking for. I would think 25 million would be more realistic.

08 Apr 2024 13:14:30
If we get £40 for him before 30th June that would be great business. I would imagine Onana, Branthwaite and Pickford will follow. Then what? We will have no sellable assets at all, so just delaying the inevitable.

08 Apr 2024 13:23:39
Get rid of the lot. We need a reset needs must.

We won't be only club facing this if various reports are correct on PSR.

08 Apr 2024 13:52:45
Yep wouldn't surprise me at all if looking at League Table and say to themselves let's give them -4 PTS, in the hope of keeping all clubs happy and us not moaning with it still being in our hands albeit game in hand against the Reds.

Said for a while this season relegation will be decided in a court room not a football pitch. Ridiculous and expect more of the same not season with possibilities of more clubs involved and both ends of the table.

It's not football, it's who foots the bill!

08 Apr 2024 13:59:35
Think if DCL proves his fitness and scores a couple more, one of the midtable sides would think about 30m+, shame but we'd have to take it. Branthwaite and Onana will bring in some cash. Hopefully we can stay in the prem and get a young hungry squad built to recover. Can't see who'd buy Pickford though.

08 Apr 2024 14:17:10
I would take 40 Mill for DCL but he will go for less, Onana and Branthwaite should go as well. 10-12 weeks to reduce our losses a fing mess. Need a decision on take over as well.

08 Apr 2024 13:17:29
Thanks Ed.

08 Apr 2024 15:14:15
Ed02. Do you know a ball park figure of funds that need to be raised?

I've tried to keep well away from and the debt, points deduction saga but I remember seeing a figure of around 85m to 90m loss. So should we be expecting to make around that in sales?

Assume onana branthwaitte Pickford will have to go and be replaced with players out of contract and on lower wages.

I really don't see the point of us playing next season. We may as well just accept relegation.

{Ed002's Note - The year end figure for June may well see Everton needing to raise something like £80M to avoid a further charge. I would expect Branthwaite and Onana to be made available. Additionally, they will possibly need to sell to add players and have been looking at up and coming CBs as an example.}

08 Apr 2024 15:45:19
Fat Chris phase 2 of my prediction for the Dyche era. Turns us into a team full of hard 6'6 turds and we bully ourselves to survival ala Stoke circa Pulis 1st 2 years. Everyone worth a bid is for sale at anything that sorts the bank balance. Expect around £120m for Onana and Branthwaite. Expect Pickford to maybe go Germany or stay as I can't see any EPL side needing him but he's surely worth close to £20m and can be replaced. Retire the old units and get Coleman in the coaching team. Goofball is going to be the order of the day. Get those season tickets ?.

08 Apr 2024 17:27:45
20m for Pickford is a joke mate. He's the established England No1 and, bar the occasional rush of blood to the head, has been more consistent than ever the last 2 seasons. I'd expect a lot more for him tbh mate.

08 Apr 2024 18:29:57
If we can sell Onana for £60m+ and try and offload some wages then we might sell some other outcasts for £20m….

09 Apr 2024 17:10:43
Thanks Ed. Worrying times.

FBS. I think the times of stupid transfer fees are gone. Look how much got spent in January. I don't think we will get anywhere near 120m for branthwaitte and onana. Maybe the cira 90m figure. We still need to clear more of the none playing senior players but I imagine they will go on frees or loans.

07 Apr 2024 08:42:33
Any truth in the rumour this morning that two Everton fans want to buy our new stadium as part of a deal with 777.

{Ed025's Note - first I have heard of that GB..

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Apr 2024 11:40:56
Andy Bell and George Downing a Swiss based company owed millions by 777 apparently would strike a deal to buy the stadium, could be a load of hogwash Ed mate.

{Ed025's Note - sounds good to me mate..

07 Apr 2024 12:02:43
Could be right old ding dong mate.

08 Apr 2024 10:01:30
The problem with selling the stadium is we become tenants only, probably paying to use the stadium and getting a lot less revenue back so the new stadium does not help us financially. For me it would be better if we own it and use it for more than just football and increase revenue.

08 Apr 2024 14:20:06
I would take the deal, wipes out 777 loans from the two lads and they may turn it into a going concern that benefits all. Would rather the City took it over but they are brassic.

04 Apr 2024 21:15:04
So rumors have it some players are turning on SD, they won't name names but the rebellion is starting, apparently it's been over heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2024 22:03:01
Probably by Doris the tea lady Skylark ?. However, I can imagine it as players start fighting for their EPL futures.

05 Apr 2024 00:48:01
I'm turning on him also Skylark.

05 Apr 2024 10:09:54
I think most of us are at the moment let’s hope a win against Burnley can start to change things.

05 Apr 2024 10:12:41
Everyone loves a rumour.
Mark my words, it will be the players with stiff necks.

31 Mar 2024 18:22:20
Ed who is in charge at the club at the moment?, who would have the final say on SD as this run he is on surly cannot carry on.

{Ed002's Note - Farhad Moshiri remains in charge until, hopefully he can get the takeover done with 777 Partners.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Mar 2024 21:52:18
Thanks ed.

01 Apr 2024 00:46:13
Out of interest ed002. I doubt it would happen as there is always someone who will buy a football club. But, in the event 777 fell through, and FM could not get a buyer, he would be stuck with us. What would his options be and, where would it leave us?

{Ed002's Note - Moshiri would need to obtain funding to keep the club running - there are loans secured against Goodison Park, there is money owed to MSP, Metro Bank and of course the money loaned by 777 Partners to pay wages etc..}

01 Apr 2024 12:41:02
To put it bluntly we are in an absolute mess. Moshiri seems to have disappeared when it matters . Are 777 the answer? Not for me when you look at the other clubs they own . They are not happy. Are they hanging on in the hope that they get the club at a reduced cost?
Probably! Since Usmanov has gone it has turned into a s$%t show.

01 Apr 2024 12:53:18
They've already bought half of it.

25 Mar 2024 12:14:49
Ed can you explain to me something please. If we have no money and have to rely on loans to keep the business going, why are no other clubs in the same situation?

Presumably, it is because all of our working capital is being consumed by the costs of the stadium?

If this is the case why were we not allowed to capitalize interests on our loans for PSR purposes. If our cash is going on the stadium and as a result we need loans for day to day costs, surely it can be argued that the this volume of loans whilst not technically for, is only necessary because of the stadium?

{Ed002's Note - Everton do not have the cash to finish paying for the stadium. They have run out of money and are using loans from 777 Partners to get by. The loans were categorised as "working capital" and therefore the interest counts towards the losses.

The issue right now is that there is no cash - the club are relying on the sale going through, or at least being agreed, before the new Financial Year. The problem is that 777 Partners may still need additional time to raise the funds required to keep the club going for the rest of the season - and they are being asked to put those funds on the table now and in to ESCROW. There remains the responsibility for the outstanding loans from MSP and the charges registered against the assets of the club (effectively Goodison Park) and a further charge with Metro Bank. 777 need answers to the list of questions they have been asked to address - and they will need funds immediately to assure the Premier League that they and Everton are viable moving forward.}

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2024 14:22:11
So in other words Ed its a total rubbish show.

{Ed002's Note - It is very tough.}

25 Mar 2024 19:25:08
So it sounds like the club are really very close to going under? Does not appear to be a sustainable situation.

25 Mar 2024 20:46:40
If 666… sorry, 777, fall through, is there anyone waiting in the wings to save us or is the only other option administration?

23 Mar 2024 08:50:37
Any truth in the stories appearing this morning saying 777 have been given a conditional approval to a takeover at Everton.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what is meant by "conditional approval" but there are still matters to be addressed by 777 Partners - and it seems the well is now running dry as far as loans to the club with around £180M debt accrued. As of the new Financial Year, there is no funding available to complete the stadium and Everton will need to find the money to pay the wages each month. In two weeks the result of the second charge will become known and perhaps the takeover will be approved by then.}

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2024 11:09:53
Pretty bleak then Ed.

23 Mar 2024 12:12:53
Thanks Ed.

23 Mar 2024 18:29:48
A very general question in regards to a club being purchased: Can a contract to buy a club be voided upon relegation, or are there 2 prices based upon staying up or dropping?

24 Mar 2024 11:18:05
Premiere league have always given “conditional approval “ this is just a formal way of saying that they have now got a time limit on providing evidence and assurance, which could mean placing funds in an escrow account that would cover ongoing costs for stadium and operating costs.
This won’t happen as 777 clearly don’t have the funding.
Basically they are chances, hoping to pick up a broken down house with potential, and make a killing once done. Problem is they need the cash now.
We need desperate for this to fall through and an immediate new buyer in place.
I give us 4 to 8 weeks before administration is the only option.

24 Mar 2024 17:14:33
Immediate? Don’t think that’s a possibility unfortunately.

22 Mar 2024 07:26:06
Everton are likely to be hit with a new four-point deduction from their second hearing for profit and sustainability breaches. (Football Insider)

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Mar 2024 08:46:58
Just another pen pusher trying to make a story out of this. Nobody has any idea what we are going to get. Just depends on the "Independent" panel on the day.

22 Mar 2024 12:20:45
True Brass, never been so many finance experts, trusted journalists, inside information, I’ve been told experts, and La de da de da experts then we get huge, massive, enormous, catastrophic, seismic, La de da da again, footy gone mad mate.

22 Mar 2024 12:32:42
Very true GB. they are killing the game, VAR, PSR, No contact. European Super League, Saudi Money. Total meltdown

Long gone are the days of 11 V 11 on the pitch with a ref and linesman.

22 Mar 2024 13:50:07
Agree Mocker.

22 Mar 2024 18:06:19
Ditto. My 14 year-old son’s matches are far more exciting. He doe a cracking good impression of James Tarkowski or Jordan Pickford.

16 Mar 2024 23:01:40
.
Dyche knocks out Patterson and starts a massive brawl in lap dancing bar.
Boys on tour eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2024 10:17:05
Apparently Dyche was annoyed because the lads were playing darts and none of them could hit the board.

17 Mar 2024 12:41:58
Dyche says sometimes it hurts to score and nobody was up to heading the dart when he threw it in.

16 Mar 2024 08:17:53
Rumour has it there’s been a bit of discontent in Portugals team building jolly.
Something between SD and Patterson

Not great if true.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2024 08:42:07
Dyche gave Patterson a tap on the head and some of the players didn't like it. Good to see the players supporting each other, not so good for the manager.

16 Mar 2024 09:21:49
So they bonded well then. That was time well spent.

16 Mar 2024 09:53:45
I think SD has lost the players before they went to Portugal.

16 Mar 2024 12:22:21
I think he's lost the majority of the fans too.

16 Mar 2024 14:40:42
Storm in a teacup again media reporting over the top as usually i suspect.

16 Mar 2024 19:06:50
Or maybe it's not a storm in a tea cup 50/ 50 chance of either being true, it will all come out eventually.

16 Mar 2024 19:35:05
Let's see how we play next game.
