Good shout there bluenose with ortega think he's a very good keeper just unfortunate for him he's got edison in front of him would definitely walk into most teams.

As for virginia I watched some of his games and he did really well and knowing our financial situation with the wages pickford is on I was thinking we could reinvest some of his wages on a decent freebie.

Watch Sky ports they have an in depth discussion on Everton at this present time, it is not all doom and gloom we are a Premiership Club with a brand new stadium with other options available with other investors waiting to step in, Moshiri wants it sorted before our home game with Sheffield.

{Ed002's Note - The other investors are MSP. The only thing that can possibly be resolved by the final game is 777 Partners getting rejected or approved by the Premier League - and right now it is more likely they will be rejected.}

Sad news on Paul Holmes. Passed away at 56yr old from cancer. R. I. P.

Still think we are a good investment proposition for new owners, we have beaten the drop twice the last with a good haul of points with games to go, and now have Sean to move us forward with new younger players, a new stadium will very soon be finished, hopefully Moshiri will see the folly of his ways and remove the exclusive deal arrangements he has with 777 so other interested parties come in.

{Ed002's Note - You seem to forget the club has absolutely no money and vast debts - including to 777 Partners who have actually kept Everton in business this season. The risk of Administration is now very significant.}

Yep all sounds great and easy GB, but you keep saying all these new young hungrier players? Where we getting the money from? Good young players pal carry a good value and risk. We ain't in a position to spend nor jeopardize our short term future never mind mid to long term. We will be in the market for free transfers and more than likely ones that are towards the back end of their career, that's the reality we face.

08 May 2024 12:22:31
Is the only way for hope then is if we get a different investor to 777 then, it seems everthing they touch turns to stone.

08 May 2024 12:40:08
I still think we can get through this, you never know Tim and the Quatar’s may come in, a Premiership Club no matter how badly it’s been run can be turned around in someone’s capable hands, I’m not giving up hope, apparently Moshiri met with 777 yesterday in London, maybe he can get that exclusive clause removed.

08 May 2024 12:52:07
GB,

Wether we get a new investor or investors or not it won't make abit of difference to our transfer budget, we are screwed for the next couple of seasons at best, gone are the days we throw money away until the stadium move starts generating a better income, our top earners move on, a average championship player is going for £20million plus nowadays, we simply don't have the financial wiggle room, we will do well attract any up and coming players without paying over the odds contracts, this ain't fantasy football GB and we are where we are as a club due to irrational spend in years gone by and throwing large contracts to entice, they will be some bargains to be had but don't you think other clubs will be aware of that and be in a better position.

I'd love a big overhaul on the squad with exciting youngsters and proven talent but won't be getting much with our loose change warchest am afraid.

08 May 2024 13:03:27
Ok mate both entitled to our opinions I still reckon we will rise from this it’s been truly awful, I’ve been privileged to see our glory days just hope it can return, never give up mate.

08 May 2024 13:21:29
Listening to you pal we might as well all pack up and go home, well I don’t accept that, how on earth do you or anyone know what is going on apart from reading the rags and media not a clue any of them, you stay in your world and I will stay in mine.

08 May 2024 13:24:15
I don't need a weatherman GB to tell me when it's raining.

08 May 2024 13:27:12
We already know that we are not going to be spending anything this summer, unless we shift on some of the assets. Even then, there is nothing to say that we still don't spend any money.

We will be stuck with loans and exploring the free market, which isn't actually as bad as it seems this year. Near enough every single one of these players below improve our side and all go on frees this summer. Surely we can pluck one or two of them and strengthen.

Personal picks (with a touch of realism) would be Aina or Johnson for RB. Coufal is solid but getting on now. Brownhill, as I don't think we get Ndidi or Rodriguez. Yazici as the playmaker. Adams, even though I don't particularly like him. He works hard and I think he outscores any striker we have at the club.

Defenders:

Tete 28 - Fulham
Adarabioyo 26 - Fulham
Aina 27 - Forest
Coufal 31 - West Ham
Johnson 24 - West Ham

Midfielders:

Ndidi 27 - Leicester
Rodriguez 30 - Real Betis
Brownhill 28 - Burnley
Kamada 27 - Lazio
DaSilva 25- Brentford
Yazici 27 - Lille
Castrovilli 27 - Fiorentina
Luka Modric 38 - Real Madrid > We signed Young, so why not ;)

Forwards:

Adams 28 - Southampton
Ihenacho 27 - Leicester
Gabriel Barbos 27 - Flamengo
Batshuayi 30 - Fenerbahce
Jovic - 27 - AC Milan.

08 May 2024 13:45:11
And how often are they wrong Mocker, have faith mate.

08 May 2024 13:46:39
Exactly BlueNose a couple on here seem quite happy for us to go under, that’s never going to happen mate.

08 May 2024 13:49:07
Good selection of affordable players mate good platform to start and integrate about 8 of them into our present Team and start watching some decent footy with a manager that knows what he is talking about.

08 May 2024 14:01:28
Tim and the Qartaris are playing the Jazz world stage at this summer's Glastonbury.

08 May 2024 14:18:31
I have faith GB but also realistic to what is achievable short term and well aware of the predicament we find ourselves in.

Regarding BlueNose list GB, you state young hungry players you want in but than happy to take the list which is very much where we will be shopping look at the age range, 1 last contract, can rule out majority for me of those tbf, I mind modric haha Adams and Brown hill most realistic and obtainable, Johnson, Kamada and Yazici be the ones that appeal to me bluenose.

08 May 2024 14:28:11
I think we have shown in our history (post trophies) that we are never out for the count GB. Sure, the situation on the pitch isn't the greatest and the situation off of it is much worse but there is still hope that we can turn things around.

Yes mate, some good options available to us, it is just a case of whether or not these players want to roll up their sleeves and jump into the fire. Then again, that is what Kevin's and Sean's job is, isn't it. They need to convince them that although we may be in the mire atm, the vision is there for us to get back up the table and competing for Europe. Although the football may not be pretty, necessary building blocks have been put in place by Dyche to stop us leaking goals and hopefully with a sprinkle of attacking quality, we can start to mend things in the same fashion at the other end of the pitch.

We have a fantastic set of fans, good training facilities, a world class stadium on the horizon. If these players can be talked into realising that by them joining, we can greatly improve the team and move back up the table, then things could turn a little bit brighter my mate.

Up the Ev!

08 May 2024 14:48:48
What a great shortlist BlueNose. It drives me nuts when managers/ fans insist you need money for quality.

You need quality recruitment, the fee is dictated by many factors not the quality. Obviously no one would disagreee on Antony's quality for a bargain £85m.

Providing the wages were acceptable, plenty on that list improve are team and depth. We have to cut our cloth accordingly for the time being.

I just hope we are doing that, because our recent recruitment has not been good enough.

08 May 2024 14:24:33
Ed002 you say the risk of administration is very significant but in order to go into administration we would need to be in a situation were we can't pay our operating costs. With multiple parties heavily invested in the club I can't see that any of them would want the club to go into administration.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know who these "multiple parties are". I know of two viable options only. Everton cannot pay their operating costs - the players have been paid by 777 Partners with loans of more than £200M. MSP loans must be paid back this month - that is more than £150M.}

08 May 2024 15:25:53
Agree Mocker.

Brownhill has decent pedigree and works hard and gets about the pitch. Adams, I think improves us. Not got flair by any means but he is industrious and knows the league very well. 8-12 goals a season.

Would love Kamada mate and wanted him from Frankfurt but I can't see him coming to us.

Agreed Scottish. There are definitely players out there that can strengthen us. I think the recruitment has been very hit and miss. Tarks, Jimmy, Gueye, McNeil and Harrison have all done jobs for us but then there have been plenty of buys that have been an utter waste of money.

07 May 2024 20:09:03
Forest appeal rejected. Have to ask why we are going ahead, principle?

07 May 2024 22:18:55

Well that does not tell us much lol.

Just got older and more grumpy guernsey.

07 May 2024 18:04:37
Evening all,

I’m just back from a long weekend of hiking in The Lakes and feel like I’ve done a few rounds with Big Dunc. I won’t go into the chaffing as you’ll not eat your dinner.

Anyway, I caught a clip of Stephen Warnock talking about how badly Rafa treated players at the RS even when they’d just won the Champions League.

Old news to us now, but to me shows how much he must’ve upset the players when he came to us.

Now where’s that sudocream.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 May 2024 11:43:43
See Forest have not had any points returned in their appeal.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 May 2024 15:10:43
Think that’s fair - seemed to have got off lightly with the original punishment and reading their mitigation it seemed quite a weak argument (player sold after deadline should have counted and original punishment should have partly been suspended) .

We didn’t have any partly suspended punishment with first charge so no precedent for it in their case.

Also knew they were going to breach but still delayed sale of Johnson to get a better price.

I have very little sympathy for them - particularly as didn’t support us when we had the first charge brought against us. As well as their poverty chanting at our match.

One thing this does do though is makes the relegation run in a bit more exciting for Sky.

07 May 2024 15:49:52
They certainly did mate reports says it was because of their exemplary behaviour towards the panel, make me xxxx.

07 May 2024 08:39:00
The stats look good to keep Sean as our manager at the mo with two games left we would have finished 13th in the Premiership and 19 points above the drop zone had we had no points deduction which was no fault of Sean's, especially when we see our Team so full of average players, get some young faces in and who knows we. have one hell of a mystery tour tour this summer with players out and new owners whoever they may be,

Agree3 Disagree0

07 May 2024 10:34:20
Plus the knock on effect of the deduction before the deduction we were attacking teams then after went defensive I believe we would have been above West ham if we had a clear run at it . Dyche has to stay and build.

07 May 2024 10:35:18
Glad you are finally in regards Sean seeing it for what it really is GB.

07 May 2024 11:42:43
Think it’s more of better the devil you know mate. not Sean’s fault he has xxxx players to pick a Team from, hopefully we can con someone into buying them eh, maybe it’s time to give em away and start afresh with youngsters from lower leagues.

07 May 2024 12:00:17
The stats don't lie. I'm not in his camp. and. never will be but the stats say he's done the brief. And as already insinuated, a slightly less pressured team could be playing slightly more effectively and so it could have been possible to have scored some more points as a consequence but we'll never know. However: it's horrible football and it's frustrating football and his tactics are frustrating andi simply do not. enjoy football anymore even when we win. Can't see the narrative changing too much next season either because we will be weaker after sales and contracts ending. And he who I won't name will stuff us full of lumps as I feared all along from the start and turn us into a really ugly team. If I was a little kid I'd definitely change my allegiances to a more successful and fun team. This is torture and unnecessary.

07 May 2024 13:05:45
Not at all FBS good things on the horizon mate, keep the faith, after all we stayed up with games in hand I might add new owners on the horizon and with most of our present Team gone what's not to like, looking forward to it all myself.

07 May 2024 13:28:17
Depends how you look at stats. As an analyst I could see how we lost out on at least 20-25 points due to SD. Same again next season? No thanks.

07 May 2024 14:55:59
So who is your choice Nick.

07 May 2024 17:01:08
Well I have said all along Potter or Howe would suit me as a British manager. However this season has seen one or two other British managers coming through doing good things on similar type budgets. They are all looking for a step up. Other non British managers have come into teams who were in similar status to us at the start of the season and have taken their teams above us. I'm at a loss with names as whoever takes us over will have their own man highlighted. As long as its not Dyche or Moyes next season I don't care if its Jumping Jack Flash, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, or Rishi Sunak in charge. As long as its positive, attacking, stylish, and committed, it will be better than the dross we have had. The right man will be able to use what we have left and, with some additions, galvanise a squad of players to perform better than we have had. How about a woman manager? I guess see what managers come available at the end of the season GB. Oh and who owns us lol.

07 May 2024 17:49:31
Certainly do not want Moyes.

{Ed025's Note - nor me GB..

07 May 2024 17:53:24
We stayed up because Forest and Luton are crap. We survive season on season because we are fortunate the Championship brings up poor teams.
Our football is one dimensional and bloody awful to watch.
But hey he kept us up so that’s ok. Then again how many managers have kept us up before getting the bullet?
Rinse repeat, rinse repeat.

07 May 2024 19:05:43
So when do you say enough is enough Harlex and stick by someone? Less than 18months of turbulence?

07 May 2024 19:07:07
My mum swore by OMO Harlex. She said it washed the sh*the out for good. Shame we don't use it at Everton ?.

07 May 2024 20:00:07
Just saying all those praising him now will want him out by Christmas. Why? Because his brand of “football” is bloody awful to watch.

07 May 2024 20:30:46
Mocker that's been the problem all along. Fire fire fire. Now I'm not an Allardyce fan, far from it, but I think the guy got us to 8th if I'm right. Surely that would have warranted at least another half season before pulling the trigger. Not football I wanted to see, but I think better than Dycheball we've seen. Whoever comes in, I just hope the new owners will put the safety catch on and give them a chance. If the football improves then hopefully the league position will improve.

07 May 2024 20:34:45
Harlex we are 15th with 2 to go on 37 points. Say we win Sheffield utd that's 40. The magic 40 so we actually got 48 (we ain't beating Arsenal unless they have already lost chance of title) . I'd imagine we will finish where we are. So wtf has that got to do with Luton and Burnley being rubbish? Have you looked at the table or just flapping your lips for the sake of it? Seems like you've cut and paste people's comments from last season where we were truly very lucky to stay up. Being an Everton fan is hard enough without having to read such ill informed tripe.

07 May 2024 21:17:54
Do agree on Allardyce totally Nick wasn't his biggest fan nor wax lyrical about his brand of football a la Dyche (see what I did there Nick?) but at some stage we have to stop the fire fire fire attitude and address the situation at hand, we all know the plight of the club isn't great over next couple of seasons so for me I am willing to trust Dyche to navigate us through it, give the guy a chance, you never know he may surprise us all.

07 May 2024 21:43:23
He won't surprise me but hey ho give it a go. Gone by Jan 25. I'll be glad to see the back of this season and look forward to the euro championships.

05 May 2024 19:57:20
GB,

Out of curiosity pal, you said earlier about Mark Robins ( Coventry City Manager) that you rated him .

Well if someone said to you now that we are save that we get rid of Sean tomorrow and pass the reins over to Robins as of tomorrow all circumstances the same.

Would you take it?

Agree1 Disagree0

05 May 2024 21:01:56
That’s a tough one mate, before our upturn of our last few games can’t lie I wanted him gone the football was bloody awful but on reflection after what the guy has done for Everton particularly not only beating our neighbours but outplaying them as well plus getting the job done with 3 games to go I think he has earned it to be given a chance to show what he can do, also we would have finished up around 11th but for the points deduction which we would all have been happy with, it can’t be denied the last few games have been brill, we get rid of most of our present Team and he brings in young blood who want to play for Everton I will be more than happy.

05 May 2024 21:42:51
Bin Dyche and bring him in. He's a younger breed of manager with attacking ideas. There's a few shown their colours this season.

05 May 2024 22:35:27
Sorry Nick but that's absolute drivel, do you both realise Robins is 2 years older than Dyche and actually been a manager with limited success for 17 seasons.

Talk about jumping on a bandwagon. Exactly my point from earlier people just pluck names out of air or when in media spotlight IE fa cup run of Coventry's.

05 May 2024 23:25:54
OK my error, but I would still bin Dyche. What's he done to rave about? I certainly don't want to see Dycheball again next season and, I don't care how poor we are, there's better about. We just never spot them. Thank goodness the season ends soon.

06 May 2024 09:50:27
That's fair enough Nick and I appreciate you don't like Dyche nor his way of playing, we would all like to see nice fast flowing attacking football with a crop of exciting youngsters but the reality is we ain't a attractive proposition nor do we have the funds or even a board to make these decisions on the vision moving forward.

Stability, Patience and a reality check is very much needed imo, to say you would just ditch Dyche now and believe we can attract any noteworthy manager is madness in my opinion.

But I respect your view and opinion pal and In parts get the frustration.

06 May 2024 10:20:31
Sorry Mocker but your talking absolute drivel mate, so what if a guy is older than Sean does not matter one iota, names are not plucked out of thin air either this is a game of opinions and all on here are entitled to it long may it continue.

06 May 2024 10:38:01
Yes it does matter GB when people's opinions are ill informed as they state Robins is of a younger generation of manager, without realising the guy as been managering 17 year without any noteworthy success nor premiership experience and just because his Coventry team have been in public eye this season they want to throw his name in to take us forward, total contradictions and baffling at times in my opinion.

06 May 2024 12:42:37
As you say mate it’s a game of opinions some comments on here I find totally baffling and contradictory at times, funny old game eh.

06 May 2024 14:20:29
Hey guys I'm not offended by replies. We are all Evertonians and blue blooded. We feel happiness together and feel pain together. Despite who we might prefer as manager, it's ironic that of the last 7 managers since Martinez, two were employed due to successes shown at their clubs Koeman and Silva) , all the rest were currently unemployed. Apart from Allardyce and Ancellotti who got us above 10th, the last three just about escaped relegation. So wouldn't it be nice if at the end of the season, Everton approach a manager currently unemployed due to his performance over the last season or two and, not just because he's unemployed and free. The only difference to that is I would like Potter myself but that's my view alone.

06 May 2024 14:35:41
Sorry that should read currently employed.

06 May 2024 15:02:37
Potters success came in a relatively minor League same as some others have done.

06 May 2024 15:20:27
It's evident tho Nick the reasons for why have employed managers that are free, the finances dictate this.

All this talk of who we would like as a manager is great, but of more importance is establishing ownership and clarity of the club from there hopefully the new owners will have a clear vision of a identity and style as a club moving forward, if they feel Dyche isn't the way forward (& I too am unsure albeit I think he deserves at least a minimum of a season once things hopefully settle to work without the off field shenanigans to make a fair judgment) .

I don't see Dyche going before the start of next season but I do agree if he was then needs to be done sooner the better allowing any incoming manager the time.

I honestly don't see Potter getting us any further down the line short term and firmly believe within 12months we would need a Dyche in, also extremely unlikely Potter interested in us as leading favourite for Utd and Ajax jobs and if as expected De Zerbi leaves Brighton then good chance he will return there, I mean where would you go the best ran club in premiership or the shambles we are.

It is opinions yes and nothing personal nor taken I just believe they is bigger and more concerning issues for the club clearly than a manager that has done his remit under immense circumstances and with no backing and imo in parts this season had us actually playing decent stuff whilst maintaining a solidness, he needs the funds and backing to try implement the balance that obviously he is aware of and I am happy for him to be our manager going into next season as I don't see or hear any realistic solutions to what is going to be very much the same and probably worse circumstances.

06 May 2024 15:22:15
Would you not take into account what he created at Brighton DFS? Fergies success came in a Scottish league we consider as league two in England. He did ok.

06 May 2024 16:38:17
If Moyes still has his contacts in the transfer market, I’d be tempted to take a punt on him… not convinced Therwell can do the business for us. Not with Young, Beto, Danjuma and Chermiti as the proof of what he can do.

06 May 2024 16:54:29
Cant argue with either of Potters and Ferguson successes however the both inherited teams in a much better state that EFC is at the moment and had some good youngsters coming through to the 1st team. We will be lucky if we have a 1st team next season the way things are going according to the media. I'd stick with SD as he has proven that he can manage a team under very difficult circumstances. There are not many managers that have the track record he has with poorly financed clubs.

07 May 2024 14:32:37
I don't think it is at all likely but if were are tearing up the script and going for a young and progressive manager with modern ideas, I would look no further than the reliable and combative CM, Thiago Motta.

Great pedigree having played at Barcelona, Inter under Jose and PSG. He has won a couple of Champions Leagues, multiple league titles in different leagues and team of the season awards in La Liga and Ligue 1,

He then went into management at Genoa, taking over them when they were dead last and couldn't change their fortune.

Moved on and managed Spezia in Serie A, a team under a transfer ban and picked for relegation. After a difficult start, got things going and won manager of the month.

Moved onto Bologna, who whilst they aren't one of the main forces in Italy, have some better players to choose from than the previous e. g. Orsolini, Zirkzee, De Silvestri, Freuler, Ndoye, Saelemaekers and Ferguson. This enabled Motta to implement his style of play and has only seen them go from strength to strength.

He has now managed 73 games, W 34, D 23 and L 16. Goals F 102, Goals A 69, good +33. Not bad numbers at all.

He has since won manager of the month 4 times at one of the 'Italian minnows' and has a really interesting style of football, which is incredibly attacking but equally as aggressive and defensive when his teams do not have the ball.

I imagine he will be going to a top top club soon but if he is available, we should be going all out for him.

07 May 2024 17:56:01
I would just like to see us play football. Doesn’t have to be fast and flowing, just be nice to see players pass to each other and move out their own half occasionally.

05 May 2024 19:53:14
While the ongoing saga of 777 is naturally attracting the attention of many fans, I cannot help but worry about what our team might look like next season if our better players are going to be picked off in the transfer market. We so need some really clever (though cheap) recruitment and with few exceptions our purchases have been so foolish for many a year. Though this season seems to point to the promoted teams struggling to make an impact, I don't sense that will be the way with Leicester and Ipswich. My worry is that while playing a certain way to ensure survival has worked, we cannot keep spinning the dice and expecting us to always beat the drop. I suppose I don't really trust Dyche's team selections and tactics. to keep playing Young was beyond me. and direct football will work occasionally but not get you up the league to where we want to be (even allowing for the 8 points we lost on deduction) . I admire Dyche for his determination and his reasonably calm demeanour, but even if we had a swag bag of money which we don't. would you trust him to bring in a player that is going to excite the fans and move us to another level? Hope I am proved wrong! Also how many of our academy players are really given the sense that they might get a run of games in the first team? Our midfield is still way short of top level. if we are scouring bargain basement, let's hope we can pull in someone who sees the pass which makes a difference.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2024 11:12:11
Dyche had nothing but praise for Dobbin, and then picked Harrison ahead of him?
