you could not write it. unbelievable but not for Everton. We are so pedestrian in moving the ball that it looks like we will have to rely on other teams being as bereft of ideas as we are.

Ancelotti decided to make Calvert Lewin a basic goal hanger. stick close to the danger area and don't run around wasting too much energy. wait for the moment. and he started to score goals.

DCL had one good season. No matter what system we play he’s had chances this season and can’t score.


He’s not the solution - neither is Beto

Unfortunately our midfield don’t chip in with goals either and we have no cash so get used to very boring low scoring games

We are creating chances and should have had a hat full last week.

Against West Ham I was screaming at the TV Beto to get in the middle. No good having a single striker if they are on the wing most of the time.

Effort is the minimum requirement and, to be fair, Beto does show a bit of desire. That, however, isn't enough on its own at this level as any player nmust have ability.
On one hand it's a shame as we want every player to come good and have a fruitful career with us. On the other it's an absolute disgrace as the transfer fee agreed looks excessive yet again.
I suppose there is time for him to prove us doubters wrong but I suspect this level is too much of a step up for him. For me, he's still on a level comparable to the Straq, puts in the effort but comes up short. Shame really.

{Ed025's Note - i was very disappointed with his performance on Saturday BP, only as much as DCL,s performance i must say, both of them were useless, now im not saying it was all their fault because the midfield was also shocking mate and gave them very little service, one thing we did learn was that 4-4-2 does not suit us with the forwards we have at our disposal, we could really do with a couple of new faces brought in this window...but im not holding my breath..

DCL seems to have lost his confidence and touch in front of goal, ed025. Question is, how long do we persevere with him? He is a saleable asset after all and we can't bring players in without selling high earners or valuable players in our predicament. But Beto is a different proposition, he hasn't really got going and we don't really know if he can cut it at this level. Let's hope he finds his scoring boots, last thing we need is another dud mate, especially at 25m!

{Ed025's Note - we cant let DCL go at the moment BP even though he is miles away from what we expect from him, he has to see it out and regain his scoring boots mate as it seems we dont have anyone else who can lead the line, Beto has been very underwhelming for me and is struggling to adapt to the Premier League, goal scoring has been a problem for a number of years now but i dont think the forwards are totally to blame, we have a distinct lack of quality in midfield as well and that does not bode well for attractive football or winning games..

I'm not advising it, Ed, but how long can we wait for him to start scoring again? Add to that our precarious financial situation, we need to find cash from somewhere. I'm half expecting some last minute sales that give us no time to sort replacements by deadline day. We have about 4 players that could command a decent fee but, if we go down that route, I can't see us surviving this season. The club is in such a mess that it's hard to see where this all ends. Tough times await us mate, another points deduction could send us on a downward Spital that could take a long time to get out of. FM etc Al have a lot to answer for.

{Ed025's Note - they really do BP, the club is a mess mate of that there is no doubt, the appeal is paramount to whether we survive or not i feel but even if we do get some points back its still going to be a hard slog..

Confidence has been drained out of them. Quite frankly the playing Staff have every right to feel helpless. Being punished on field for off field occurrences. Mirror makes interesting reading.
