What a great last couple of games it's been. Going to the March yesterday was such an enjoyable experience. The last few years have been unbearable and the stress i and probably most of you have all felt has taken my ticker to breaking point.

I have no idea how I feel about SD. One minute I hate the football then the next I love the guy again. I do truly feel that if he had the right personal he could improve the football we play. I mean, Ancelotte was labelled with the boring football but has got Real into another final.

So what is it we all want?

I'll be honest and say that at least for the next 2 years we need stability. We can't keep changing managers. It will help with keeping the players we have and help in getting players through the door. More importantly it will help in getting the right buyers.

If we'd have had an average last 3 seasons there would be plenty wanting to take over the club. Stable mid table team. Stable. manager and squad and about to move into a brand new world class stadium. The club has debt but everything else is in place so why not. However, from top to bottom the club has been a mess with only SD a real constant for us.

777 are still favourites to take us over. Josh has gone and they look like bringing in others to steer it steady. I personally don't want them anywhere near us and I'm hoping MSP are the ones to come in. There are others but I don't think any of that is serious.

MSP seem to have our best interest at heart but also seem to have genuine resources to tap into. Not sure about their track record but McLaren in F1 have matured back into grand prix winning contenders after years of failure.

Either way, we're not likely to be signing anyone unless they are free and we'll lose both Jarrad and Onana in the summer along with a host of players out of contract. We have to sell both as we now need to start paying for Beto and are still paying instalments for onana and a few others. That means we'll be looking to our youth team to fill gaps.

There are a few that I think can come into the mix. Chermitti looks like he is maturing into a genuine contender. If DCL doesn't want a new contract we need to sell him but I'm not so worried as I was before. Plus Dobbin and Patterson are a year on. They've both got potential but maybe it's games and a run of them they need.

Anyway one game to go. Could give two hoots about it which is one of the best things SD has done for all of us.

Hey Jimbochaddy answering your question re our squad if we could do it I would bin around 8 of them and go for players like the Luton forwards, and Diaz is another and there's Ben Johnston on a free together with players from our youth, Dobbin and one or two others, regards Sean it's been a season of what if he started off great then the wheels came off and dire footy was being played and then our last half a dozen games have been superb, he was brought in to do a job and I have no doubt he more than achieved that, when the footy was so bad around 15 games of it I wanted him gone but all due credit to the guy I believe he's earned it give us our points back and we would be 11th at least we could have finished top 10 maybe, the footy was poor because of what was happening with everthing the team and manager had no control of, this huge hall of points lately has seen us rocket up the table, there are worse teams around us of that I am sure but at the end of the day he kept us up, that's my opinion but no doubt a couple would want to shoot holes in it that's up to them, I am looking forward to the summer window and all that goes with it and then the start next season but first let's beat them Goooooooners next Sat and our players will be worth double cheers mate.

Evaluating Potential Manchester United Managers

What areas is everyone thinking we need to strengthen this window?

Pickford has got to stay (and as far as I know he doesn’t want to go)

RB
Godfrey was solid (keep, and also cover CB)
Coleman as cover
(cash in on Paterson, don’t know why it hasn’t worked out but needs to go)

CB
tarkowski and branthwaite (quality partnership pull all the stops out to keep hold of branthwaite but desperate for cover holgate and Keane need to go.

LB
mykolenko massive improvement since last season, keep
Young a liability needs to go

MF
Onana sell up (overrated)
Gueye (1 more season)
Garner (squad player)
Doucoure (keep)
Alli (don’t know what’s going on but if could get half the player back he was at spurs then happy days)
Gomes (keep, started seeing old Gomes last few weeks, decent squad player)

Danjuma (release)
Harrison (release)
McNeil (keep don’t think we seen the best of him this season, more to come)
Calvert lewin (keep)
Beto (keep, can only get better)
Chermitti (not sure why we signed him, downgrade on simms)

IMO need a CB (cover) LB (cover) AM (pushing Doucoure) RM.

Young has to go Coleman pay as you play with coaching role for me I love shamus. can't keep Gomes on his wages and seems 1 step to slow more time's than not. keane isn't the same player since covid for some reason not going to mention Ali and just hope brentford are going to buy maupay 💙.

12 May 2024 08:37:51
All depends if we go into administration like some papers say, Jabba but we’re interested in Ineanacho from Leicester apparently.

Agree3 0Disagree

12 May 2024 09:08:10
If we can get him on loan i would take Brereton Diaz going on yesterdays performance, his work rate right up until the was excellent. Exactly the type of player we should be looking for next sesson.

Agree3 0Disagree

12 May 2024 09:42:32
Funny how opinions vary so much.

Why anyone would want to keep dele Ali is beyond me - he’s been a massive drain on the club and from what I’m aware he didn’t even bother turning up yesterday.

Gomes - another drain on the club who is nowhere near the player he was pre injury. Has had 2 half decent cameo appearances but not enough to warrant a new contract.

Young - can be a liability but gives his all and has actually had some decent games for us. At right wages keep for another season whilst a youngster steps up.

Patterson - would actually try on the right wing rather than at right back as has decent pace and can put a cross in

Chermitti - young and raw but definite signs that he will be a good player and has improved with each appearance.

Danjuma - agree waste of a loan spot and bizarre signing.

Harrison - if another loan or very cheap deal would keep but would want him to work on his end product.

However all a matter of opinions and it won’t be ours that decides on what happens with these players it’ll be dictated by the finances and hopefully manager and director of football with the new owners letting the appropriate people make these decisions.

Agree2 0Disagree

12 May 2024 09:58:45
Ali has just cost us over 5m in wages get rid, will never be the player he once was. Gomes another high earner who's best days are gone, get rid. Need a number ten who can actually pass a ball, Dacoure not that man.
All the time we play with one striker then you will never truly know if Chermitti or Beto are that good. And to say Beto at his age can only get better, but Chermitti who's a kid can't is a bit odd.
Diaz is another grafter like Harrison. Don't waste what little money we might have. Their are better out there.

12 May 2024 10:25:01
1st decision: KEEP SD.
Then
Need RB but would keep Godfrey and probably sell Patterson as SD doesn't rate him.
Cover for LB
Keep Seamus, Tarks, Branthwaite, Mykolenko and Pickford if we can.
Sell Onana - he seems highly valued based on potential and we need to sell someone, rather him than JB.
Gomes not worth his wages but his contract is up so could offer new one on much lower wages but we need a proper No.10,
Keep Doucs, Garner, McNeil, Dom.
Chermitti looked decent yesterday, first real chance he's had so probably keep. Beto? keep unless we can get better.
Wouldn't buy Brereton-Diaz based on yesterday's performance. Ran around a lot, yes, but never seriously bothered our defence.
Harrison not worth £30m so unless that price dropped will need to find someone else, preferably someone who can beat a defender. Will need another creative wide player in addition.

Agree3 0Disagree

12 May 2024 14:04:09
I think you need to include wages for each player as that will have a huge say in who stays and goes.

We can’t keep Gomes as a squad player (which is what he is) if he’s on over £100k a week.

I am a Sean Dyche fan, even I had a wobble during the 15 game winless run.
Where could he of had us without the points deductions, uncertainty and lack of transfer funds?

Agree4 0Disagree

11 May 2024 19:35:29
So did I mate but he’s done a great job with the Team he had, he did what he was brought in to do.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 20:08:35
Agree Duaney, but thing is the calibre of teams we played in that 15 games, in a few of those we actually played better without getting the results than a couple of the games we have won recently.

Sean and the players deserve the credit. We will be in the same scenario next season with potential of a high turn around of players.

{Ed025's Note - a win is a win i suppose Mocker but my god it was turgid, i enjoyed about 10 minutes of the game mate but the rest of it was disappointing to say the least..

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 20:33:11
GB do you honestly think our squad is weaker than what went down if you don’t mind me asking your opinion? If you do that would say SD has done a good job. If not it is expected us it not I get the points deduction is why we are we are. However I still think we have underachieved.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 21:22:31
I can't wait to get my holiday in Rhodes out of the way and those stupid Euro Championship Football finals, then we can have another season of Drossball served up by Dyche. I hope the new owners keep him. Bring it on. In Dyche we trust!

Agree1 0Disagree

12 May 2024 10:28:32
Without the 8 point deduction we'd be 11th. With more cash and better squad presumably higher.

Without all the pressure around the points deduction? Don't know, sometimes it seemed to spur us on.

11 May 2024 16:59:30
Another 3 points well done to Sean and the lads what a haul of points these last few games,

Agree7 0Disagree

11 May 2024 17:28:12
Yeah the 15 game run was mad with the run before and after.

Arsenal game is a bit of a right off for me.

Onto the next big challenge of the summer transfer window, or pre 30th of June transfers.

Also mad to think Forrest could stay up on 29 points.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 17:32:32
Without points deduction we would be 22 points clear of relegation.

Agree2 0Disagree

11 May 2024 18:01:51
Would have been 11th. Let's see us turn up against Arsenal, what I mean is make them earn it.

Agree3 0Disagree

11 May 2024 18:02:41
Was looking at the table Sean and the lads certainly upped it at the end, what could have been eh if we hadn’t lost all those games in the middle, looking forward to next season now, we could so easily have dropped a division if they hadn’t turned it around.

Agree3 0Disagree

11 May 2024 18:18:27
So if we finished 10th or even higher, would you been happy with Sean and his style of play GB? You and others wanted out 100% few weeks ago.

Going to be a case of pretty much the same next season pal so patience needed and a realization that survival is key not performances.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 18:51:34
I believe this formation was forced on him through injuries. Young is a different player in his natural position for one. Dyches lack of confidence/ trust in the younger one's is a worry because we are going to need them after the upcoming firesale. So well done this Squad and thankyou for finally turning up.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 19:04:45
I saw report that Young was awful. Just goes to show different eyes or titat in Pub. I thought his crossing was excellent for one.

Have to say Young played well today DFS.

Agree3 0Disagree

11 May 2024 19:27:44
No Mocker and I keep saying this his style of play was awful in all those games we lost but a lot of that was who was playing and I agree thought he would get the chop, but all credit to him and the Team they tuned it around big time so yes. He deserves a few season now with some new players in the squad.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 19:32:25
Just read your first post above DFS and Young has improved a lot, as for the younger ones nice to see Dobbin and Warrington come on even if not for long, also the Team will be totally different next season with younger players in the shape of freebies, loans and from lower divisions up to Sean to get them into shape.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 21:19:10
I know i am repeating myself but to ask a manager to take over a whole club in disaray and manage a team bought by 8 previous mamagers, he hasn't done too bad a job.

{Ed025's Note - in the circumstances he has not done a bad job Bobslad, but if we are to progress we cant play that brand of football imo mate..

Agree0 0Disagree

12 May 2024 08:48:56
What's progress tho Ed? I get ya but we would be 11th and quite easily broke top ten, above teams like Palace, Bournemouth, Brighton who all get plaudits, it isn't pretty no but can't argue it's effective.

We are solid and our XG been high, know stats don't tell the true story. I get the not pretty malarkey but mid table Dyche all over tippy happy relegation battle for me. We simply don't have the players to play that or free flowing Ed, it ain't Sean's fault he does what he does and he is very good at it, we are Very lucky we have him mate, hard to imagine but the club could be in a lot worse state without.

We all know it's going to be a very turbulent summer and he won't be getting much support by looks of it financially so as supporter's why don't we put 2 fingers up to them (again) give Sean our backing and ride out what we already know is going to be a very challenging season ahead. 👍.

{Ed025's Note - i get that Mocker and yes Dyche has done a very good job with what he has at his disposal mate, i might be living in the past i suppose when we were easy on the eye and watching this great club was not such a chore, because of where we still are i would keep Sean for another season but i would like to see the lads be a bit more expansive but maybe thats just me..

Agree3 0Disagree

12 May 2024 09:27:19
No I totally get it bud. Football is entertainment after all. Sean is on the recieving end of the fans frustrations due to what's gone on before, my gripe with him is the reluctance on youth, but he maybe be forced into it next season.

So 10th/ 11th this season Ed (without points deduction) .

Or 16th/ 17th last day survival next but playing good stuff?

We have been lucky that the bottom 3 been so poor this season . I would totally give Sean another season minimum, I'd really like to see what he could do when all the noise assubsided and he had some money to work with, think he would be quite savvy.

Look at West Ham Ed they have outed Moyes, even tho won European trophy last season and been 6th-8th over last 3 seasons all because it ain't pleasing on the eye, we are all fickle at times bud not helped by the fact the top 3 are miles ahead of the rest.

PS hope Richy doesn't go to Saudi. Total waste at 27.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 May 2024 10:02:24
No ed the majority in the ground feel the same. It's more a sense of relief that we stayed up. But the football has to improve mate.

{Ed025's Note - im with you Brass, i dont know if sean is the man to deliver that even with better players mate...thats my worry..

Agree1 0Disagree

12 May 2024 10:51:19
Granted Ed but he has surely earned a crack at it is my opinion.

We have actually played some decent stuff especially early season without reward. Sean just needs to try get the consistency whilst remaining solid with a weak squad.

{Ed025's Note - i dont have a problem with giving him a shot Mocker, and hes the perfect fit for a club without means like us mate, i just have reservations about how far he can take us though..

Agree0 0Disagree

12 May 2024 11:48:57
That I totally agree with Ed, his remit over next 2 seasons is try stabilise us as a club, (our next level) hopefully aligned with off field. Then evaluate

Our aim has to be to become more attractive off the field first then a identity and vision

Anyway Ed, lovely day again, a feeling a beer garden calling for a few 👍😎💙🤪.

{Ed025's Note - im envious Mocker, these tablets im on are strictly no alcohol mate, so orange squash for me today, but that wont last very long..

Agree1 0Disagree

12 May 2024 14:14:52
He’s not the solution Ed but we are about to hit much rougher seas and he’s an experienced captain that has guided others through similar. I’m not much of a risk taker and think we should let him see us through another season until we are out this mess. Sadly, it could be another few years until we are sorted financially.

{Ed025's Note - i dont have a problem with that BR..

Seems like the Premier League were correct for once in not rushing to approve 777. I think we would be on the brink of extinction if they took over.

Moshiri has dragged us into the gutter and now wants to run away. Hopefully he will never again be seen at Goodison.

MSP seem to be in the box seat and hopefully with some debt restructuring, we can slowly start to turn our finances around.

If we need to sell then do it early so replacements can be brought in. Whoever goes isn't irreplaceable so let's just get it done.

To all those at Goodison today. make it shake with noise.

The 777 nonsense has finally died on its feet. But please could we now have an explanation from the premier league on why they did not step in and put this farce to bed, long, long ago.

It has created a financial mess, which may well have done extreme damage to Everton football club, unless of course, that was always the intention.

Agree1 0Disagree

10 May 2024 21:41:48
I don’t think the premier league has caused us financial damage; that’s all on Moshiri and the board!

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 03:23:22
It's about time Everton fans stop blaming everyone else but the people actually supposed to run the club

It's Moshiri, sorry to have to say it Bill, and the rest of an incompetent board that have brought us where we are

I've not got much sympathy for the FA but they are in are in a lose lose situation. Approve a highly dodgy company like 777 or ban them and maybe push Everton into administration

How about Moshiri and co take responsibility and take decisions with EFC best interests at heart rather than their own self interests

We shouldn't need or require the FA to take the decisions for us and then use them as scapegoats.

Good post BW.

Imagine regardless of all the noise around 777 and negative stories it would have been very hard for the premier league to reject them seeing as they already had a few other teams in their portfolio.

If premier league had dismissed them they may have had a case to argue against a dismissal highlighting their ownership of other clubs and it could have got messy for the premier league.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 14:52:11
Spot on BW, the PL have many things to answer for, but the state of EFC is not one of them.
