Martinez to allow jelavic to go out on loan in january, would be good to see him getting games and more importantly goals again

BluePlayer

1.) Games guaranteed? Probably.
Goals guaranteed? Nope.

2.) Must have a striker lined up then?

3.) We cannot afford to send Jelavic out on loan unless we bring someone else in. We are thin on the ground for strikers as it is. I trust Roberto will make the right decision whatever happens though

4.) More likely to be sold. he's no good, poor attitude, how many chances does this guy need in front of goal, sorry just not good enough for everton.come on get real!

5.) Poor attitude?? He seems to be a team player, doesn't moan about being on the bench and actually gets in some decent positions. He has hardly had a chance under Martinez, and is definitely our second choice strike.

6.) If jelly is to get goals he first needs playing time on the pitch give jelly three or four games playing upfront with lukaku an I think that partnership can be deadly. There is so much at stake in the English top flight that if you don't perform for two or three games you could be on the bench for the next two years all blues no he can get plenty of goals cause we seen it In his first 20 games so give the lad a break

7.) Jelly was a goal scorer until his second season at everton where moyes did something . it was like turning the tap off

8.) I too would like to see jelly and lukaku upfront together, I think that would be an awesome pairing

9.) The thing that Moyes 'did' was to change the focus of our attack from Jelavic to Fellaini. Once he did that Jelavic didn't know how to adapt his game and hence finds himself second choice now

Got a feeling we may be able to get a good result against Chelsea next weekend. Conte sets his sides out to allow teams to play their game, and respects every team for its individual style of play. As of yet we have not really established a style of play as our tactics seem to interchange regularly. I feel this lack of identity will allow us to surprise Chelsea.
We should play 3 at the back, and have our wingers playing very wide to try and exploit the space that the full backs will leave when the bomb forward.
In this game it is essential that our midfield joins the attack and overloads them defensively.

We are progressing but do not yet have the quality needed to overcome a Chelsea side that already have the quality and hitting really good form under Conte. If we do get a result and I hope we do, it will be by a great deal of luck.

2.) 01 Nov 2016 13:30:59
I personally think it all depends on tactics. Maybe Koeman can outsmart Conte and nick us the win.

3.) 03 Nov 2016 17:32:32
I personally think it depends on which team scores the most goals. but I might be wrong.

My ideal summer would see Sadio Mane come in on the left wing. I'd love for us to try and move for Bertrand, and then evolve Baines into a defensive midfielder, which I think is possible with a coach like Koeman in charge.
Baines has the legs to bomb around midfield and get the tackles in just like Barry can, and we are in need of someone to fill Barry's shoes.
Then i think Koeman should try to persuade fellow Dutchman Jasper Cillisen to move to us, and have Joel as his number 2.
If Lukaku goes then I think we should move for a big name such as Lacazette, Icardi or Bony and bring in a young promising striker to deputise such as Janssen.
Imo, Jagielka needs to be replaced as he is getting old, I would choose Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli or even try to bring Shkodran Mustafi back from Valencia.
What do we think?

BluePlayer

1.) 06 Jun 2016 17:03:52
I think we only need a new keeper LM and possibly an acm to compete with Ross. If you look at our u21 and u18 we have some very promising players 4-5 defenders, 2 very good midfielders and 2 strikers. I thinks jags has another season in him and agree LB moving to cdm could be a good idea. If we loose players then I would like replacements of similar or even better quality. I actually can't see anyone leaving though to be honest. I think the fact that the players that are so called looking to leave are on long contracts and we don't have to sell, plus new manager and possibly new stadium and major investment in the squad may mean that players actually want to stay rather than risk another club.

2.) 06 Jun 2016 16:57:02
That all sounds great, but player transfers these days are incredibly complicated - not only because so many parties are usually involved, but also the complexity of financial and contractual matters. To get those players into the club would take a lot of time and effort - which is why appointing a Sporting Director at Everton to take a lead in that is a good move in my humble opinion.
Nevertheless, if we could get some of those names that the original poster has mentioned, then I too would consider it an excellent summer transfer window for us.

{Ed025's Note - the euro,s will not make things any easier as well sid..

3.) 06 Jun 2016 22:40:22
We need two forwards and sell Lukaku and Niasse.

I'd like a more consistent right winger and sell Lennon but keep Ged.

A Barry replacement and another left winger.

We also need two more central midfielders for Osman and Gibson.

One goal keeper but not sure if it's an inderstudy or to replace Robles.

One right back and a paaaatridge in a pear treeeeeeeeeee.

These are some exciting times ahead, when you look at the calibre of manager being linked with us it shows just how far we've come as a club in the past decade. The fact that we have 4-5 top quality candidates for the managers job indicates the direction we're going in. When Moyes left, managers like Martin O'neill and the like were realistic candidates, now we have real champions taking a serious interest in our club, not managers who could theoretically take us places, like Martinez.
The futures bright, the futures blue. Whoever is in charge next should be ready for challenge, I have the utmost faith in Mr Moshiri to make the right choice and the fact he's taking his time shows he is taking this very seriously.

BluePlayer

1.) 30 May 2016 23:06:20
We are a much worse team now than when Moyes left it is because we have Moshiri with money as yet we have not gone anywhere but down since Moyes left.
Are any of these fancy managers capable of building a club that is a mess? I hope so, but maybe we should walk before we run a we might trip up, be careful who you wish for.

Most football fans are dreamers, I was once but now in my sixties I am pragmatic so let's hope we get the right manager whoever he is.

2.) 30 May 2016 23:48:46
How are we a much worse team, our midfield when Moyes left consisted of Osman, Neville, Gibson, Hitzlesberger, Pienaar, Miralles.
Our forwards Jelavic, Anichebe, Fellaini, Naismith.
If you think that is better than what we have now then there is no hope!

3.) 31 May 2016 07:37:04
Totally agree with sidutton we are a far more attractive club to managers regardless of money. We have a good young squad with a good group of youngsters coming through. It's getting boring now massaging his ego. He made us feel like we were punching above our weight when he was here and that gave a certain group of supporters the same mindset that what he achieved was deemed successful. He broke our transfer record 3 times in a row so he had money available. And in 11 years reached 1 league cup semi final an FA Cup final were he reverted to type by trying to hold on to a 1 goal lead for a full 90 minutes. And 1 semi final were by we were beaten by our neighbours again because of the negative tactic of trying to defend a 1 goal lead. Yes I am grateful for the stability he brought when he first came but to even consider him now would be a backward step and a bad mistake. The boos he got on Sin day at the fight makes me realise I am not alone and there are a lot more against than there is for him. We are Everton and we have an opportunity here to bring in a man for the future and leave gollum in the past.

4.) 31 May 2016 07:57:33
I have said this a thousanf times. This squad is much inferior to the one Moyes left us with. This is because of 3 factors:
1. It is ageing and yes there are some youngsters coming through but the overall group of players nearing their end is too many. Howard, Jags, Barry, Baines, Barry, Pienaar, Kone, Osman, Hibbert all need replacing now. Or at least have players ready to take over very soon. That is 9 players without the squad suffering any injuries. too many!
2. The midfield players that RM added do not score sufficient goals. Cleverly, Barry, McCarthy, Besic never score more than 2 a season each. That means we rely on moody Lukaku and Barkley for our goals. Mirallas can chip in but was never given a chance under RM so I suppose that could slightly improve under a new manager.
3. If the squad is so much better now, I have one question. Why have we slipped down the table so dramatically and been served up dross for football. People moan about the football Moyes served up. My girlfriend knows nothing about football but watched one game of ours this season and asked, "Why do Everton not get the ball towards the other goal? I thought that's what you are supposed to do? "

5.) 31 May 2016 12:14:33
Well said Degsy, cannot understand why people think we have a better squad. RM said so but more brainwashing from him that people seem to believe.

6.) 31 May 2016 12:37:33
According to everyone we slipped down the league because Martinez tactics were wrong, he lost the dressing room, he played people out of position, take your pick.
As regards the older players I think Martinez plan was to promote 5 or 6 of the youth to replace them and buy 3 or 4 aswell.
If you take Garbutt, Davies, Dowell, The Swiss guy, Galloway, Pennington, Connolly bar the keeper you have pretty much replaced the older players you have mentioned.

7.) 31 May 2016 20:09:59
I agree that RM lost the players and also that his tactics did not help. but to suggest that half a dozen unproven kids with less than a dozen 1st team appearances are the replacement for 9 1st team players who were internationals, goalscorers and experienced is naive to say the least. I would predict thaat maybe 2 or 3 of the kids will become 1st team players but as for goals I do not see where they will come from if Lukaku goes. I just see us struggling for goals and getting quality players to join a team that has been sliding down the table 2 years running. Stones is obviously a class act and worth money. I also think Mori was a good signing and also chips in with goals. particularly from set pieces. But as I have said many times, Osman and Pienaar were never replaced succesfully. Naismith seems to have been replaced at twice the cost with an unproven player who has a dodgy temperament. Mirallas has been demotivated and the other players RM signed were just not consistent enough. I know people say I am a doom monger, but the table does not lie and a new manager will have a hell of a job to stop the slide further. We need a very strong character and at least 4 or 5 quaality signings. some of whom need to score goals.

19 May 2016 14:51:26
When lukaku goes this summer I seriously think we should go in for Michy Batshuayi, looks like West Ham are interested and if they get him I think he might be one of the signings of the season, just like payet last year, can't be having another Marseille player robbed off us.

Get Shut of rom. the judas and top moaner.

2.) 19 May 2016 15:22:34
This is the guy that has had pretty poor service and still managed a shed load of goals. Oh and when did he become a judas?

3.) 19 May 2016 16:32:30
Regardless if rom stays or goes we need quality to push on. id try for lacazette from Lyon first. if rom goes try for lacazette and batshuayi. if during pre season, certain players aren't deemed good enough, i. e Niasse, then try using them as sweeteners in deals.

4.) 19 May 2016 17:35:54
Well said sa90.

19 May 2016 14:40:52
There are reports that Mcaleny will leave in the summer.
What do you thinks gone wrong for him?

BluePlayer

1.) 19 May 2016 15:06:24
Probably he just isn't seen as being capable of making the final step up to premier league standard. I've no doubt he'll make a successful career in the Championship and lower divisions. He'll find another club easily enough.

2.) 20 May 2016 11:06:55
sorry to say but in this day an age, if you have not made it into the 1st team at 23 you probably wont, and if you can't dislodge kone or nis you need to move. because there shite, am 47 and could put more effort in to playing than yazz, and the new paulo wonchop.

Svenny, Slimani scored more goals in a more difficult league than David Nugent 😂, seriously why are you comparing those 2 players.
I get what you're saying but the point the OP is trying to make is that if he actually is a Koeman target then we shouldn't be outbid by west brom for him.

I think McCarthy going Southampton is just as cover, McCarthy has become 3/ 4th choice keeper since the arrival of mandanda.

Gameiro plays for Sevilla but yes I agree we should be looking at him, I'm fairly sure he scored quite a lot of goals for them this season.

I think the main factor of pulling out the olympics squad is that he's reluctant to go to Rio de Janeiro atm. Lots of violence and the threat of Zika virus. Already several high profile athletes have pulled out and I'm surprised it's still going to take place. Either way it's a win-win for funes mori as he avoids getting potentially killed and he impresses the boss/ fans with his attitude.

I assume he only needed to be there for the preliminary negotiations/ interview and the paperwork will be done by his agent. Still expect an announcement within 24 hours lads, don't get your heads down its all nearly over 😅.
