Leeds, Villa, Watford and Newcastle all have double games this match week. Table may look worse before it gets better and we play our games in hand.

Hope most if not all of them slip up mate, bout time we had some luck eh.

2.) 28 Feb 2022 15:48:15
We should not be relying on others slipping up, we need to win or at least draw games. Good start against City were we should have picked up a point, play with that intensity and passion and we should be fine.

3.) 28 Feb 2022 16:25:51
Can still have a bit of luck Mike ask Kavangh mate, but agree a good
few games in hand and should be fine.

4.) 28 Feb 2022 18:49:58
Kavanagh is just plain incompetent GB. Don't depend on any luck from the likes of him. We don't need good luck we need good football.

Last time we were relegated I was 11 and it was a miserable time until we came back up. Don't want to see it happen again.

We are playing some good football now verses the trash under Rafa so I am very optimistic that we will stay up and lay the foundation for a good improvement next season.

He shouldn’t be a ref if he is that incompetent mate, and yes it was a bloody awful time but we are playing some good stuff and think we can stay up as well mate.

Southampton on form at home was going to be hard, but shows we're we are as a team.

Few players just not good enough, hopefully we can stay up and Lampard can slowly build and use his name to bring in some calibre. I think if doucaure was on the bench instead of Gomes things might of been different. I'll welcome him and Gray back into the team quickly

We have a couple of games in hand, the big being Newcastle at home! I think that game is massive for us.

I think us fans can keep us up, at least our home games we have played well under Lampard.

Back to reality after the weekend.

It was always going to be a tough a game. Away to Newcastle after the transfer window with all their fans.

Before Gray went off, in my opinion we were good. Quick passing, a lot less slow side to side, as soon as we lost Gray so early we lost any front momentum.

Frank needs time and this isn't his mess, but we haven't got time. The club needs us as a 12th man every home game, the rest of our home games will make the difference if we stay up. Two massive games now before Man City.

Yes I agree BlueJon, Frank Lampard is our 'new' manager to him this squad is 'new' to him this club is 'new' which of course includes us .
He himself was probably totally 'surprised' by the first match, and the second which was by far the more intensive for obvious reasons concerning the 2 teams, more than likely showed him the bare truth about the players he has, he must know about all there is to know when it comes to pro's and their strenghths and weaknesses and now he must have a much clearer picture of the size of the task ahead.
Here's hoping valuable lessons have been learnt.

Selection of Holgate fosters doubt about judgment.

I haven't posted on here in a while, out of choice. Obviously things have not been good recently and hopefully we are in for a change!

I hope FM and the fans give Frank time, the roundabout of managers means we have a pick 'n' mix team, there is good eleven there hoping injuries are good Frank.

As fans I think we need to get behind the team and no doubt about we will be needed at home games this season, especially if we don't get a result at Newcastle.

Nice to see Cahill and Sharp involved in the recruitment process and Lampard being backed yesterday.

My only concern is are VDB and Alli the same player, will they start in the same eleven? I could be wrong but I thought they were both number 10's?

There will be games that we over perform and games were we play badly, every team does but we need to stick together ride the storm and come out the other end.

Good points Blue, I too like Cahill and Sharpe involvement.

I see Alli and VDB as more than just number 10's though. Think a 3 in middle of Allan, Alli and VDB in 1st league game would be very nice indeed.

2.) 01 Feb 2022 10:39:17
Beek is the same mold as Lampard from what I have seen not to sure about Ali as a 10, have seen him come in mainly from the left as does Richarlison. Main thing if both are fit and match ready and if Lampard can get a tune out of him (Ali) .

3.) 01 Feb 2022 11:08:53
Think we could have a decent first 11 with Ali and dvb.
PIckford
Patterson, Mina, Godfrey, myolenko
Dvb, Allan, alli
Richarlison, DCL, grey

With Gordon and Townsend coming in.

4.) 01 Feb 2022 11:33:59
That would be my 11 as well, especially with Doucoure out.

5.) 01 Feb 2022 13:27:57
Yeah looks good. I might play Gordon instead of dom though and out Richarlison up top.

6.) 01 Feb 2022 14:53:06
Lampard prefers 3 5 2.

7.) 01 Feb 2022 16:12:29
Not sure about that dfs- was mainly 4-3-3 when at Chelsea.

8.) 01 Feb 2022 16:13:43
Myko -honestly - from what I’ve seen so far can’t see him stepping up.

9.) 01 Feb 2022 16:29:39
When in trouble in a game or bad run, he reverted to 3 52 or if you prefer 5 3 2 (2 WB's pushing up) . Problem with Mikky first two games was he pushed up but then either forgot where he was or couldn't get back. Happens a lot with WB's hence why 3 5 2.

10.) 01 Feb 2022 18:52:31
So 2 games in and you've made that decision - absolutely ridiculous sobs.

He's joined a team fighting relegation, hadn't played for a couple of months and was thrown straight in with players he hadn't spent any significant time training with - what did you expect him to be like?

He's a Ukrainian international and would hope that means he's fairly decent. Best to judge when he's had a run of games and had chance to settle in to the squad as well as acclimatise to the league.
