These recent stories about Jelavic "considering his future" might have some truth in them, but whatever their veracity it's not helpful to see them aired in public rather than being dealt with inside the club. No doubt an agent and his media cronies are involved. As for some of our fans slamming Jelavic for his lack of goals this season - of course it's disappointing compared to last season, but he's had injuries and he's always put a shift in and he's never hidden.
1.) I would just ask all those criticising jelavic for his lack of goals this season to just think for a minute, and ask to why, and what's different from, let's say jan last year when he signed and was banging in goals for fun nearly every one with his first touch, to this season were he's struggled to make double figures.

I remember the name Cowpat Sid being used on another Everton fans' forum many years back. I guess it's the same person, as I can't imagine two people inventing the same nickname so many years apart, but only Cowpat Sid can confirm.
DM has brought in some gems at comparatively low fees (Cahill and Jagielka for example) and got good service from players before making a profit on them (Arteta) or getting good money for players not progressing (Rodwell).
However, in one area - centre forwards - his record is not so good. We've spent reasonable money on a pretty long list of potential goal-scorers, but how many have lasted - even those who showed initial promise? And our only home-grown forward of any real quality during the last ten years - Wayne Rooney - had to be transferred in order to stave of the financial collapse of our club.
I'd love to have seen DM able to spend £20m-to-£30m on improving the squad/team each season of late, but - apart, maybe, from Fellaini at £15m - I'd suggest that DM's success has been picking gems in the lower tiers or overseas for fees in the low millions.
Just imagine: after all this season's promise, we finish below the dark side (7th and 6th), they get Fair Play qualification for the UEFA Europa League, they bring in players during the summer, we become the poor neighbours once again. On the other hand, if we win at the dark side in a few weeks, then skies won't be quite so grey ;-)
