Hi ed, just been on the Arsenal page looking at contenders for their job. You spoke about Fonseca and that is immediate future has been resolved, what dl you mean by this mate? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I doubt I said that it has been resolved, but it has "seemingly" been resolved for now in that there is now tentative agreement over his contract extension. I have to say the complete unprofessionalism shown by the club with their "survey" has drawn derision across Europe and will certainly not help their cause if they are looking for a new manager this summer.}

1.) 21 Apr 2018 12:39:21
So do you believe he will stay despite the interest in him around Europe? Great sight as ever so thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I think he will likely stay for now. It is a good job with regular Champions League.}

2.) 21 Apr 2018 13:12:20
Exactly! Ed002 puts it in a nutshell, a terrible own goal by EFC, any manager would think twice about taking on a club that attempts to throw their managers under a bus, the club deserves all the critiscism it receives after this symbolic episode.

3.) 21 Apr 2018 16:09:39
If Allardyce is as good as he thinks he is then a supporters survey should be no problem. It's only a problem if (as everyone expects) he gets savaged! Club's done nowt wrong in my opinion. If you can't handle the truth don't do the job.

4.) 21 Apr 2018 17:14:03
It’s not about right or wrong. It’s about being an attractive career destination for the best managers. Moshiri talks Simeoni and we get Allardyce. And if we keep doing silly stuff like this survey which I don’t hear any other clubs doing, then what the hell do we expect.

Are they that detached from the supporter that they have to ask? Go to the game and watch and listen. I’m utterly embarrassed that they’ve dropped this clanger. As are they which is why all I’m reading is about a statue of the holy Trinity. Conveniently burying bad news.

And they need to personally thank Wenger for his timing too. Or else the embarrassment will be still raw today.

If we get a half decent manager after this I will be shocked.

5.) 21 Apr 2018 17:22:26
If he's still here next season, I'll have lost a lot of faith.

6.) 21 Apr 2018 19:27:28
All I can say if Sam wants the fans to get behind him he better start showing us another way if playing now we are safe, if he carries in playing this drab football then he has no one to blame but himself when the fans get on his back.

7.) 21 Apr 2018 20:45:29
All this bull. Everton have sent the same survey for at least last 3-4 years, asking everything from what opinion is about facilities at goodison, to cuisine, to welcoming, to manager and board. it was not specially devised for Sam allardyce. fact is the man is getting handsomely rewarded for playing uninspiring, drab boring football. he acts like he cares. it's a sham. The sooner he goes the better. On a slightly different note for the next manager I will wait three years before passing comment. footy fans generally too quick to judge. me included. Allardyce aside of course.

8.) 21 Apr 2018 23:09:25
Money talks.

15 Apr 2018 10:08:56
Hi eds, any truth in Moshiri wanting to use Raiola as an adviser for recruitment? Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - apparently its true joe..

1.) 15 Apr 2018 10:30:42
I think we need tread carefully then mate.

{Ed025's Note - very much so joe i dont like the guy one little bit, but if he gets rid of sam asap then i might just warm to him mate.. :)

2.) 15 Apr 2018 10:54:18
That would definitely put him in the good books.

3.) 15 Apr 2018 11:56:11
There’s been something between Moshiri and Ratola for a while. He seemed to be very cushty with the Lukaku deal. To me he seemed to be pushing the contract extension only for Lukaku to have a voodoo moment (according to Moshiri) . I’m not sure how to take this news. One thing is for sure, there’s a lot to be said about keeping your friends close and your enemies closer still.

4.) 15 Apr 2018 12:22:25
I agree with above comments especially Toffee ace about keeping enemies closer. Doesn't help making a deal with the devil though. All that man wants is $$$. I suppose there is huge potential for us to benefit on the field by getting closer to his connections.

5.) 15 Apr 2018 12:59:00
Surely we got to get it right sooner or later eh.

6.) 15 Apr 2018 13:34:20
If it's true re Moshiri and Raiola it's a sad indictment of where we are as a club and of football in general. Raiola's a parasite, a very rich parasite.

7.) 15 Apr 2018 16:00:00
Apparently Raiola is very close to Marcel Brands aswell,
Could end up being really good for us, you never know.

8.) 15 Apr 2018 16:02:10
i think it was pirlo who said that raiola once ate a bunch of snails for a bet, doesn't really sound like the most likeable guy indeed ed.

{Ed025's Note - mino loves money ET and will stop at nothing to get his hands on it mate..

9.) 15 Apr 2018 18:39:12
Raiola typifies everything that is wrong with the game, but look what a similar relationship with Mendes has done for Wolves. I’m not sure whether I don’t want him anywhere near the club or an “if you can’t beat them, join them” attitude. Like it or not agents are part of the game now and seem to have huge influence over players, so I think I’d rather have him on our side than against us.

10.) 15 Apr 2018 20:17:02
Who loves money more than the tosser who is our manager at this time.

{Ed025's Note - fair point robbo..

11.) 16 Apr 2018 08:01:08
Its apparently to be part of a recruitment overhaul with Brands as DoF. One things for sure, parasite or not, he has a pool of talent that we could possibly benefit from. Times they are a changing and the nice guy always finishes last so maybe a deal with the devil may finally have us challenging.

12.) 16 Apr 2018 11:41:13
LFC made the mistake near on 30 years ago, appointing Roy Evans. That was the signal to all top clubs that the days of "jobs for the boys" was over.

We need to get over this romantic notion and get in the real world.

13.) 16 Apr 2018 14:50:22
Ed 2 has always said for moshiri to get better advice surrounding manager and player recruitment. Who better than one of the world's top agents? (I don't like him and think he is a money grabbing, slimy rat) but if we are successful then I will forgive him everything. Hahaha.

After All, we would all do the same in his position.

14.) 17 Apr 2018 00:44:11
As fans, we’re very emotional about our club - and we love to see the players, manager, coaches, etc., (even the board! ) showing passion, BUT I want the people running our club to be businessmen who make rational (not sentimental) decisions. If that means using a “super-agent” - or any other person with the club’s best interests at heart - then I’m OK with that. It’s whose best interests (are being served - the club’s or the individuals’ involved - that I’m concerned about.

30 Mar 2018 12:58:53
Hi ed, just wondering what's transfer targets we have at fhe minute considering the window opens earlier. And with the doubt over Allardyce and Walsh, who has control of the goings on at the minute in terms of ins and outs.

{Ed002's Note - It only opens early if you want to buy players from English clubs. Allardyce and Walsh are in charge of identifying the transfer targets right now but if Paulo Fonseca (who has several options) or someone else were to arrive then the targets might well change.
Lucas Torreira (DM) is a player San Allardyce is very keen on but has time moves by his price will be going up considerably.
Chris Smalling (CB) is again a player Sam Allardyce likes and as I have explained before, a player who might be a viable option
Kwadwo Asamoah (M) but the price would need to be right
Jack Wilshere (M) I think he will get an offer from Everton.}

1.) 30 Mar 2018 14:02:35
Ed you mentioned Fonseca has several options. Do you know if those options include other Premier League clubs or are they spread across different leagues? I would imagine he is fairly hot property as far as managers go at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - There is some interest from another Premier League side in addition to others.}

2.) 30 Mar 2018 14:30:15
Thanks Ed. Informative as always.

{Ed002's Note - you are welcome.}

3.) 30 Mar 2018 21:00:49
Would that other club be Arsenal by any chance Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - He is on the revised list of options that they have. But they, like Everton, still have a coach so it is rather academic whilst Wenger does not pull the ejection seast.}

4.) 30 Mar 2018 21:13:30
Thank you Ed,

Those pesky gooners!

5.) 30 Mar 2018 14:36:31
Great thanks mate.

6.) 31 Mar 2018 17:23:54
Allardyce/ Walsh at the moment it does look as if contracts will be honoured.
Fonseca - Many offers of interest on the table, we are not the only ones from the Prem. Personal opinion, that being the case would he choose us.
Torreira - Good player but as Ed says the price will go up.
Smalling - If available, would he really choose us.
Asamoah - Excellent player, we have the wherewithall but do we have the will.
Lastly - Wiltshire, as Ed says an offer will go in but imo not for Everton and would not like to go further North than Watford.

24 Feb 2018 00:23:14
Probably just wishful thinking with who we have in charge but I'd love for us to take the game to Watford tomorrow. Play a high press and get on the front foot. For too long under Allardyce and Koeman, negativity and a lack of ambition has cost us away and the cautious set up obviously hasn't worked. Watford aren't anything special and I hope we go there and get the 3 points tomorrow as well as giving Tosun and Klaassern time. Again wishful thinking with Davy but backing us for a 3-1 tomorrow. Up the toffees.

1.) 24 Feb 2018 02:49:06
I believe that Sam has said that he wants a more settled team and the only changes should be for injury and suspensions. So we should see the same team that beat CP.

2.) 24 Feb 2018 11:44:53
I just don't think he will go for an away win mate? (hope wrong) I wonder did he look at the team training, or did he just stay at the bar? (Dubai)

3.) 24 Feb 2018 12:37:11
Only reporting what I read so don't see why I would get two thumbs down? I don't really believe it either but hope is what keeps you going.

4.) 24 Feb 2018 13:04:55
The report was in the Liverpool Echo. "Sam Allardyce has hinted he will start picking a more consistent line-up between now and the end of the season". We will know soon.

5.) 24 Feb 2018 14:10:40
The fact Watford beat Chelsea 4-1 in their last home game will give Oxo the perfect excuse to play defensive. Chelsea had 10 men but he will still play 2 holding midfielders.
I reckon Kenny will come in for Seamus, who is still struggling with a thigh problem apparently, Davies will be dropped for Morgan and won't even feature on the bench probably!
Williams will come in for Mangala.
I just don't expect anything other than setting up for a point as that will be seen as progress in Oxo's eyes.

6.) 24 Feb 2018 14:37:52
Team seems to be leaked every week lately and is usually right. It had Pickford kenny Williams Keane martina gueye Rooney Davies Walcott niasse.

7.) 24 Feb 2018 15:09:31
And Sigi sorry not starting with 10.

8.) 24 Feb 2018 16:50:31
Yes and that is the team he has picked the one that finished against CP. That is what he said he would do and he has done it. So much for the thumbs down to my post above. Not sure what sort of supporters these people are!

31 Jan 2018 13:54:22
Any truth in us going for Amadou eds? Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - no mate..

Hi ed, seeing the rumours about Wenger and you saying about a possibility of linking up with Tuchel on the Arsenal page. Do you see any chances of him wanting to stay in the prem possibly for us or do you feel he'd leave due to the connection with Arsenal? Cheers mate.

{Ed001's Note - he does not want to work for another Prem side.}

1.) 23 Apr 2018 15:18:42
Unless he moves out of Europe then he could still face Arsenal twice a year.

22 Apr 2018 10:10:43
The mail reporting a board meeting this week to decide whether Allardyce will be kept on or sacked. Any truth in this eds?

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry I don't know of any agenda for any board meeting.}

20 Apr 2018 13:58:37
Even though I'm a young blue never seeing a trophy lifted or a win at Anfield aha, I feel like this season has really grasped what I want for our club. The football has been dire and the footballing side of the club seems to be going in the wrong direction. I've said it before and I know some don't agree but I just feel a young ambitious manager so either Fonseca, Howe or Arteta are our best chance of creating identity and showing ambition for the future. All with styles of play that we recognise and get behind. Arteta has no experience granted but like some have suggested with a Wenger type figure to support him, I think we could have a much better season and start to build. Success obviously won't be instant and we need to give whoever comes in time.

1.) 20 Apr 2018 18:05:49
We gave moyes time and also to some extent Martinez. Toffees will always give a manager time if they see a progression, a goal to aim for.
If we look to be going backwards or not making an effort then that is when toffees will not stand for it.
I think Sam has lost the fans and the players and at the end of the season he will have to depart. Sometimes in life you just have to accept you're beat.

2.) 20 Apr 2018 18:39:31
Martinez got the time because he made Everton his own, that's what I loved about him. Allardyce never had the fans but see what you're saying Smit.

3.) 20 Apr 2018 18:48:25
You say that rubbish about giving time. But that was purely under Bill. Now Moshiri is in charge it seems a little more ruthless. So I don't know.

4.) 20 Apr 2018 18:59:40
Why was 'rubbish' replaced with smit hahaha.

5.) 20 Apr 2018 19:05:53
Damn got that wrong I meant why was smit replaced with 'rubbish. '

6.) 20 Apr 2018 19:48:29
Yeah yeah Mowfee 🤣.

7.) 21 Apr 2018 01:20:53
Perhaps your autocorrect knows something you don’t know? 🤔.

20 Apr 2018 11:30:27
Wouldn't be surprised to see Wenger linked with us in the next few days. No idea how that'd make me feel.

1.) 20 Apr 2018 11:52:36
it has already started toffeejoe.

2.) 20 Apr 2018 12:21:06
I doubt Wenger will go anywhere else in the PL.

17 Apr 2018 16:30:13
Hi ed, I know you said Fonseca is that one Moshiri wants. Are Howe, Arteta and Silva backup options or names just branded around the press? Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - They are banded around because of their having PL experience and advice to FM will be to look for someone with PL experience.}

1.) 17 Apr 2018 18:25:16
Dyche certainly knows the Premiership and has shown this season he is learning what it takes very quickly, certainly in my opinion more so than Silva or Arteta and Eddie Howe has no intention of returning 'up North'. Fonseca may be the one Mr Moshri wants but again in my opinion he will have better offers coming his way if he indicates his desire for other pastures. This all supposes that Allardyce is definitely leaving and he is only 6-7 months into an 18 month contract.

2.) 17 Apr 2018 18:59:22
Dyche would last 5 minutes. I don't think any supporter at Everton would want us to score 14 goals at home in 16 games. Take the boring football we have now. Dyche is not so different.

Eddie Howe would be a better option due to the brand of football. However, I would prefer us adopt a braver approach and go for Fonseca. We need a winner.

3.) 17 Apr 2018 19:37:08
A manager somewhere inbetween Dyche and Howe would be perfect.

4.) 18 Apr 2018 00:49:31
Between them two managers come on mate. We have owner now Willing to spend 200 million (not much I know in today’s market) but Dyche he is big Sam in dusgise. If owner brings Ustinov as well could be 200m per year on transfers! The reality is we have been piss poor all season and we still finish in top ten. We need a manager with vision and guts to clear out the crap and within two three years be competing for top 4.

5.) 18 Apr 2018 11:21:50
So you want an English guy basically?
Sorry but Dyche isn't the calibre I want EFC aiming at.
He has been awful since Xmas but has got away with it because so have Watford and us. Should have caught em months ago.
He would appease the racists but foreign and good players wouldn't sign for him, cos they wouldn't know who he was.

A international coach with vast resources to players and progressive tactics please. No gruff fat blokes as we've already got one of them type of dinosaur.

Are people insane? Sean Dyche. my my facepalm.

Is the difficult position being created from lack of support at board level ed or is it due to the fans.
