Any truth in the rumours Usmanov is behind the 777 proposed takeover.

{Ed002's Note - No, someone is teasing you.}

A Premier League club, one of only 20, long underperforming, with a new stadium and a soon to be lower salary budget, with large broadcast revenues, and an owner desperate to sell……. Everton will be purchased by someone more responsible than 777.

{Ed002's Note - When is this happening? How long will it take? The situation is not perhaps as simple as you think.}

11 May 2024 14:58:17
Everton would be an attractive option if it wasn’t for the many creditors waiting to be paid, and the costs of finishing the stadium. Won’t even go into players wages.

11 May 2024 21:31:01
We’ll be on sale with an owner happy to escape with the shirt on his back and most of the buttons.

12 May 2024 09:31:31
I can’t see an easy way out of this. Administration is a very real threat, which would be a disaster.

12 May 2024 11:47:47
Weirdly enough it could be the worst thing to happen for 777 given the amount they have already invested. So it's really in their best interest to make sure the club don't go into administration, even if they don't end up owning it.

12 May 2024 14:29:15
We are not going into administration.

12 May 2024 20:05:55
Did I say we were?

11 May 2024 09:10:52
Wander and Pasko removed from 777.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 May 2024 13:35:16
Hopefully Dyche will join them as unemployed soon to GB ???.

11 May 2024 14:08:41
They wouldn’t get rid of their Ace in the Pack mate, they will be listening to the majority of fans that want him, I hear he’s just signed a new contract to stay at Everton indefinitely.

11 May 2024 14:37:23
As janitor?

11 May 2024 14:59:27
GB a couple of weeks ago you were all for him going mate. What’s changed?

11 May 2024 16:02:57
He’s our best option mate he’s kept us up and that was the b all and end all of it, I reckon he deserves it see what he does when we are rid of some players.

11 May 2024 16:11:39
GB jumps the fence better than a race horse lol. Because his mate SD has supposedly saved us, he thinks we should put up with the same dross next season. Then it will be in out in out in out again lol.

11 May 2024 16:51:39
When the footy was so poor Harlex I didn’t think Sean would stay but so pleased he turned it around mate with a very good end to the season so yeah give the guy a chance to show what he can do.

11 May 2024 17:48:04
Fair enough GB. I’m not convinced but I hope you are right mate.

11 May 2024 18:11:02
100 percent agree with gb. Yes football has been poor but he kept us up and by some margin, that was the mandate and he's passed with flying colours while contending with points deductions and had to galvanise the squad. He has got a squad of poor players giving a lot of percent therefore I'd like some continuity.

11 May 2024 21:36:43
Can’t argue mate he kept us up end of.

12 May 2024 11:48:46
He hasn't got a squad of poor players .

{Ed025's Note - that is subjective Brass..

12 May 2024 14:19:43
He will if we sell all our decent players though.

10 May 2024 20:34:05
Ed, can you tell me why Rights and Media would try and stop a takeover from MSP but not from 777? Do they believe with 777 there is a much bigger chance the debt is not paid back and they have collateral in the stadium? Would they also try and stop any other parties from trying to take over?

{Ed002's Note - Because the money owed to Rights and Media is secured against the assets of the club and if the debt owed to MSP is not repaid, they can take control of those assets. They don't want to become involved in any lengthy legal dispute.}

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2024 13:00:24
Cheers ed, Makes sense from a business point of view. we really have done ourselves bad with all this crap. hope we can pull through and come out like a shiny new coin eventually.

09 May 2024 15:31:01
What's wrong with Quatar investment now for goodness sake there's good and bad in every nation including Britain, let's wait and see before dismissing them out of hand.

Agree12 Disagree0

09 May 2024 15:42:53
Some things are more important than football GB and I'd rather we retain our principles and values as a club.

But you of course are entitled to your view and your right they is good and bad everywhere.

{Ed025's Note - i feel like breaking out into "Ebony and Ivory" now mocker.. :)

09 May 2024 15:53:21
Don’t know how you can say that Mocker MSP is half owned by an Iranian / American billionaire as for human bights as you say mate they have nothing to crow about either, there's good and bad in all Countries.

09 May 2024 15:48:37
Brilliant Ed??????.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

09 May 2024 17:30:57
So you would welcome Qatari owners GB. Their stance on LBGTQ is prison sentences if caught. Are you homophobic too? I'll stick with an owner who can demonstrate the values that we at Everton support.

09 May 2024 18:00:34
At this level of financing, all money is dirty. It is the ridiculous nature of the modern sports world. I do not disagree with the moral concerns. It would, however, be difficult to find a truly white knight billionaire.

09 May 2024 18:23:57
You can carry with that Nick are you going to say Moshiri is in the same boat as he is Iranian, alsonThe MSP part owner is an Iranian / American it goes on and on mate not many are whiter than white.

09 May 2024 18:37:12
What has anybodies sexual preference got to do with a working mans sport? It is as bad as all that George Floyd bend the knee nonsense and that is why it was so poorly received for the most part. The game should be separate to any outside talking points.

How a nation decides to run things on their own land is absolutely nothing to do with me, you or in anyway related to football. I imagine they won't be concerned with enforcing their rules in a foreign country and will keep things strictly sports and business related.

09 May 2024 18:47:52
For me it isn't just the human rights tho it is a major contributing factor. I don't like how the Saudi's or Qatar is getting too heavily involved in sport in general, I know it's the way things are and where all the wealth is but it doesn't mean I after like or accept it, this is after all the UK and when a question is asked everyone has their right to express their views right or wrong and long may that continue.

09 May 2024 16:09:41
I say that GB because it is my opinion. I was asked a question by a fellow poster and answered it. Simple.

It doesn't represent the club or city in my opinion. others will agree others won't. Not a problem to me.

09 May 2024 19:02:47
Agree mates I don’t like all the things that are bad in these countries either but not all investors are in that bracket wherever they come from, sport and politics should never mix as you say Mocker everyone has their own say on how they interpret it long may we have a forum like this one where we can eh.

09 May 2024 19:16:48
I don't go against any of your comments. They are all valid and said in a free country that to a certain extent allows free speech. What I'm saying is we have a choice because we are Everton and have our values. That's all.

09 May 2024 19:41:48
Amen to that mate at the end of the day we all want the same, and that’s what best for Everton.

10 May 2024 14:24:30
What are you all fighting about?

Moshiri is Usmanov's puppet and Usmanov is a Russian oligarg (gangster)

All billionaires have tainted reputations

Just find me one who will invest 1-2 billion into Everton.

10 May 2024 19:21:20
BN1878. We had/ have a saying, when we take the knee there is a rifle at our shoulder. Same as all that raised fist nonsense, they have no clue absolutely none. It is rewriting history and all crap. Don't care what religion, skin or belief a idiot is still an idiot.

09 May 2024 13:57:16
Given what the Saudi's are doing to force people to move, so they can build their Eco City, would anyone be happy if a Saudi bought Everton? If the "Use lethal force if required" order is correct, I wonder how the Premier League will react to Newcastle's owners.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2024 14:44:30
It would be a massive no from me Nick. Don't want the Saudi's or Qatari's. Would go against everything the club stands for not that that means nowadays since Moshiri turned up.

Yourself?

09 May 2024 14:51:00
Yes I agree. We might be in trouble, but we are Everton.

10 May 2024 00:05:50
And without a very rich buyer we could become once were Everton.

09 May 2024 13:19:07
I think the award easily goes to Palmer, but Branthwaite deserved to be among the nominees for young player of the season! Easily in ahead of Udogie and Mainoo for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2024 15:16:56
Think Foden takes the award myself and deservedly.

09 May 2024 08:05:40
None of us are privy to the true extent of Everton's financial predicament but some standouts

Year 22/ 23 reported loss £89m
Included in that, profit on Player transactions £48 m so the real loss without players being sold was £137m

In year 21/ 22 we reported a loss of £45m after making profits on player trading of £68m. The loss before selling our best players was therefore £113m

Over those 2 years and including the £116m profit on player sales, our reported loss was £134m

For P&S rules we are allowed to take off the costs of the Academy and womens football. Everton don't itemise them in the accounts but they are not a major part of the £134m

Under current P&S rules we are allowed to make £105m losses over a 3 year period. I'd say we are already over that £105m after just 2 years so, in simple terms we have to turn losses of £137m and £113m a year into a breakeven/ profit situation this year

How on earth can we do that?

• Reduce wages. It's important to realise that all these £100k per week players we have cost us £5m per year or £6m if we include things like NI etc. Also the financial year started in June 2023 and ends 30th June 2024. Very little we can do now and we did little during the last close season
• It also looks the stadium isn't going to open until start of 25/ 26 season. We've probably had increased costs of admin/ security on 2 stadiums with no income coming in from the new stadium, Even if we can secure the naming rights at best we can report income from next year, rather than this year, at time of signing
• We had a couple of one off expenses which won't be repeated such as the £5m we paid the directors for their 'sterling' work for us
• Offset that with the ever increasing finance costs we have been paying for normal operating and the new stadium
• Nothing above really helps us so we are left with player sales. Player sales that we need to complete by end of June to get into the 23/ 24 accounts so it's a fire sale - prices won't be top end but what we can get. From what we might get we have to take off the unamortised transfer fees and the rest would be profit. You all have your own opinions of sellable players and what profit we might make. Mine are Branthwaite £60m, Onana 30m, Pickford £25m, DCL £20m.

That's £135m -if we are lucky. In my opinion even if we can sell these 4 these is nothing left for replacements. Dyche ( we can't afford to sack him) will lose 3 of his best players (that's deliberate by me - I don't rate Onana - I'm just hoping someone does because we need a profit from him)

The balance sheet and staying solvent is even more problematical until we know who, if anyone is going to take over from Moshiri, and how much of all our outstanding debts will be converted into equity. Paying interest on our current debts is killing us and they are still growing monthly with day to day running costs and the costs to finish the rebuilding of the stadium, never mind actually repaying any of the outstanding debts. On the horizon lies the costs of renovating/ repurposing Goodison

We need a white Knight with a lot of money and a great deal of patience as the problems will not go away overnight

The patience needs to come from our fans as well as there will, in my opinion be little or no money for new players. The stadium might well be the heavy duty industrial tow rope that broke the camels back.

Excellent post BW ??
Very much a reality one.

09 May 2024 10:19:25
Our scouting and recruitment team need to be busting a gut to identify and secure free transfers or players with low buyout clauses that can do a job in our squad over the next couple of seasons.
As you said - patience is key - and we must adopt a policy that remaining in the Premier League in the short term is more important than silky football.

09 May 2024 10:46:13
Spot on JB.

09 May 2024 14:32:30
Totally agree JB but seriously what evidence do you have that our scouting and recruitment team are up to that?

08 May 2024 19:41:47
Good shout there bluenose with ortega think he's a very good keeper just unfortunate for him he's got edison in front of him would definitely walk into most teams.

As for virginia I watched some of his games and he did really well and knowing our financial situation with the wages pickford is on I was thinking we could reinvest some of his wages on a decent freebie.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 May 2024 21:15:41
Aaron Ramsdale?

09 May 2024 12:06:01
Yeah you are right Andy mate. Far too good to sit on the bench.

I watched Virginia in the cup for us and he played very well tbf to him. Playing well against weaker opposition once or twice doesn't necessarily translate to being a reliable 30+ game a season PL keeper for me though. Would be a risk imo. When you think about how integral a solid GK has been in keeping us in the league the last 3 seasons, I think if Pickford goes, we need to get another experienced head in.

09 May 2024 12:06:31
Ramsdale would be far to expensive and I think there are far better keepers out there in foreign leagues that we could get.

09 May 2024 12:43:51
Not that it would happen but De Gea still without a club and could still do a job for a season or 2.

Tho his reported wages would be well out of reach for us unless he was tempted to guaranteed premiership football on a vastly reduced contract.

{Ed025's Note - Money would be a massive problem Mocker..

09 May 2024 13:37:26
Yes totally Ed,

Surprised De Gea not been snapped up, still a decent keeper and certainly had/ has couple seasons in him at premiership level.

The hope being if we do get rid of Pickford say £30million and 125k PW wages, that we could offer De Gea a guaranteed starter, £5m signing on fee and similar or less wages as Jordan. Know not so simple and know Saudi's have offered bumper wages but it would be a interesting proposition to him if he wanted to continue at a top level.

More realistic if we need to replace is the lad at Burnley for me, Trafford, young and upcoming with scope for sell on fee in future.

{Ed025's Note - De Gea was on around £500,000 a week at United Mocker, yes he may take a bit of a drop but still out of our reach mate, we need players on lower wages than we already have to conform with what we need to do im afraid..

09 May 2024 14:53:24
I know scary amount that ain't it mate.

I know but the hope was we could pitch premiership football once again and he would have the hungry too not like he needs the money and not sure if still lives or has a house near.

Don't think Jordan goes myself certainly wouldn't be high up on my list to go tho is 1 of our most sellable assets so needs must ain't it mate.

08 May 2024 17:57:56
Watch Sky ports they have an in depth discussion on Everton at this present time, it is not all doom and gloom we are a Premiership Club with a brand new stadium with other options available with other investors waiting to step in, Moshiri wants it sorted before our home game with Sheffield.

{Ed002's Note - The other investors are MSP. The only thing that can possibly be resolved by the final game is 777 Partners getting rejected or approved by the Premier League - and right now it is more likely they will be rejected.}

Agree4 Disagree0

09 May 2024 07:35:31
Sooner the better get 777 binned. MSP seem a much better proposition, have to wonder at Mr Moshiris seeming reluctance to consider any other than 777.

{Ed025's Note - i suspect its because of the loans they have all ready paid to us to keep us afloat DFS, and the exclusivity deal that was made with 777 mate..

09 May 2024 12:54:07
GB The Sheffield match is on Saturday. There's not a cat in hells chance of it being sorted by then unless the FA pass 777 which is highly unlikely with the news that has been coming out about them this week and quite frankly I don't want them as owners
If it is anyone else they have to start the approval process which isn't (in our experience) fast

Of course Moshiri wants it resolved. He will get less if we go into Administration because MSP or 777 ask for repayment of their loans or if Moshiri pays them off and doesn't get it back from any potential new owners.
