I have a friend who has worked in ticketing for years and PSV have been one of his longest clients. He often goes over there and has made some good friends with some of their lads/ staff.

Much like we have gotten excited over the years with your Rooney's, Barkley's, Gordon's etc. They have had their fair share of youth lads come through as well.

Maalen £25m, Madueke £30m, Depay £40m, Bergwijn 30m, Gakpo £38m.

My friend has told me that they all think that this Babadi lad could be better than them all and perhaps go on to be as good as an older PSV and much better winger than the above, a Mr Arjen Robben.

PSV have already brought another lad through from their youth this season in the form of Bakayoko (Johan, not Ibrahima) . He is 20, where as Babadi has only just turned 18.

He is yet to play for the first team and only has 1 year left on his contract, meaning that his price will be anywhere near the above.

This is exactly the signing we should be making. Buying them before they do it on a credible stage and their price rockets.

The lad certainly looks to have some great attributes. Great stop/ start speed, can dribble and is comfortable with either foot. (All relatively expected characteristics for a winger) .

Perhaps where he seems to be a bit of an outlier is that although he favours being on the wing, he can also play inside as an AM. This might explain his impressive vision and the ability to execute all types of passes.

To top it all off, the lad seems to have an impeccable first touch which already sets him apart from most lads in our side.

Perfect scenario would be to push for Diallo loan and have this lad pushing him and McNeil for minutes, taking all the pressure off him to perform. We can give him time to blood him in.

Sounds decent but I do have a question, jmw. If the lad hasn't played any first team football, how can we be certain that he is so good and ready for a move to England? Should we not at least give our own youth players a chance before using any of our limited budget? Mills should be at least given a chance over preseason to stake his own claim.

Henry onyekuru springs to mind. Supposed to be an amazing up and coming player. We bought him, couldn’t get a work permit so loaned him out and don’t think he kicked a ball for us.

These are the types of signings I'd like to see and that most fans would get behind I think. There is balance with needing experience and proven ability, but young talent with sell on value must be the way forward. The competition for this type of player is fierce and anyone with any spotlight on them just end up at someone like Chelsea and then being loaned out. Going to be interesting to see who we can attract to the club.

He sounds good but I'm with gingerdan on this one. There was another Swiss player, can't think of his name who we got. Supposed to be brilliant but never kicked a ball for us.

we should be all over him and plenty more of those types of players. other clubs do it year in year out just got to look at rb leipzig. and i think its clear that we do not produce any good players anymore. you could literally count them on one hand (rooney barkley, rodwell) can't think of many more (gordons sh*te)

There are no certainties in football Potato.

This is where the recruitment team should earn their money and run through all the tape there is on the player. For me he looks like he has attributes that will make him a shoo-in for a top club.

I think we should definitely give our youth more of a chance and it is certainly something that irks me. I was calling for Mills to be given a chance last season. If a player is showing the right signs, give them a chance. Even if there is no intent to have them in and around as a starter, to give them minutes and experience is fundamental to their development.

Look at the likes of PSV, Lyon, Dortmund, Bayern. They don't care about age. If you are good enough, then you get your chance.

With regards to Mills and Babadi. Different leagues from what I have seen mate.

As for Tarashaj, the only person that talked him up was Martinez. "Phenomenal talent" my jacksie.

I agree there are no certainties mate when it comes to football. I'm on the side of caution on this one, as others have said in reply, we've bought players in the past that where meant to be the next wonderkid but they didn't even make it to the first team. The difference in the league's is vast too.
With a limited transfer budget and an unbalanced squad that has no depth, gambling on youth players from a weaker league can bite us on the backside. Mills should definitely be given a chance before we have to dip into the transfer kitty imo mate.
