I've tried my best to warm to frank and even gave him praise and supported him for the past month or so but It all feels like I've been kidding myself.

I just can't see it going anywhere and the thought of him being here for a two or three year project just fills me with dread.

I just don't know what this club wants anymore,
I just don't know what this clubs plans are.

{Ed014's Note - I’ve literally no idea how the likes of Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney keep getting jobs, they’re proven failures aside from the joke known as the Scottish Premiership.

When you’ve got a manager like Pochettino out there why Lampard??‍♂️

The club wants to stabilise it's finances after years of throwing cash around with no success. Things have changed at boardroom level and there's been a turnover of staff behind the scenes.
The club's plans are obvious. Keep improving the squad, window by window, and get the really high earners off the books. Keep improving in the league to ensure there is no repeat of last season.
I know you don't like to hear it, skylark, but it will take time and patience to get where we want to be.

To be fair Ed. 1. He wasn't available when rafa went. 2. Did he win anything in English football? Never mind the 1 club league where he managed the biggest spenders and best team. Christ, i would win league managing them.

All young managers need to be given time to learn and develop their own style or we'll keep having the merry go round that is Bruce, pulis, warnock, etc.

Doesn't have to be ex-top players but young managers need to be given a chance. German league do it. Naglesmann retired young and is now bayern boss.

Can't understand this wanting a manager out after 10 games. Klopp took 4 years to rebuild them lot and he started with a top 4 team.

The old adage is start from the back and move forward. We have so far. Defence and midfield are a lot stronger, tighter and fight for the cause.

It's forward line that needs improving. Yesterday maupay was poor. Didn't hold ball up to allow midfield to move forward. Maybe scl will be able to do that in forthcoming games

We've lost to 2 of the so called top 6 teams and we haven't been hammered like last season. It's progress, maybe slow progress but still I see no reason why we'll go down and mid table was most peoples realistic target after last season.

Let's see where we are come the end of the season before we judge Frank and his team.

Ideally we will bring in forward reinforcements in January but depends on finances.

{Ed014's Note - the main thing mate is you’re happy with him and given time who knows but he did nothing at Derby or Chelsea and the latter he had a small fortune to spend.

Jesus I'm lost for words maybe our club does not deserve success as with fans like Skylark we would be sacking managers after every couple of defeats how embarrassing.

What don't you understand? If we never sack any managers we would still have the likes of Sam in charge, and the likes of Liverpool, city, and UTD. Would still have there old managers in charge
So I don't get your point either
Maybe it's fans like you that don't like other people's opinions, we don't need.

As you say geoffjohno mate it will take time at least 2 or 3 windows to sort our Team out, Frank is here long term we now have a decent defence and midfield the change in our play has been really good, i know it will take time but I look forward to the future now, last season was diabolical and we now have a manager actually doing something about it, he has my 100% backing.

Skylark I'm sure this has been asked of you before, and as a fellow Evertonian, I respect your views to say how you feel about our manager, but one thing you have never said is, who would you replace Frank with? You did not want him from the start, so who did you want? You don't want him now, so enlighten us with who you do want.

I have asked him that question a few times as well Nick but get the usual gobblygook back,

I've said it before. Just because I didn't want frank it doesn't mean I have the answer as to who we should have got,
I could ask you frank lovers who you would have liked to manage our club if frank wasn't asked .

No point asking him that, nick, he rarely answers direct questions about how he would rectify the problems he perceives.

Ed014, I think he has done a decent job so far when you consider what he walked into. He will be better for the experience in the championship, it's a tough league to cut your teeth in.

I think you're being a bit harsh on him for his Chelsea stint, he couldn't spend in his first season could he? Granted, he had a world class squad!

I think Poch is a decent manager but we have to at least give FL a season or so, he deserves that much for last season. Let's not forget, it was the constant chopping and changing of managers in a relatively short space of time that caused the majority of our problems in the first place.

{Ed014's Note - mate i get we’re you’re coming from I just think he doesn’t have what it takes and I really like Everton and felt the new owner would work wonders but he’s been a disaster.

Ed014 he took over Chelsea during a transfer embargo and he brought the youth through. Then when he dipped into the transfer market he made a squad that, eventually won the champions league.

{Ed014's Note - to be fair they were given the Champions League but Peps stupidity in playing a formation they’d never played before.

Had he played as the normally did the would have wiped the floor with them as they did in the league not long before the final.

Ed, sometimes a player or manager are just a right fit for a club.

Howe got sacked at Bournemouth now doing well at geordies.

We will never know if he has what it takes unless he's given his own players amd this takes a few windows.

The owner had the managers, dof and his own advisors all buying players. Was just a total mess.

{Ed014's Note - I guess so mate, he just doesn’t fill me with confidence.

If we never sacked managers Sam would never had got near EFC Skylark as we sacked two before appointing him. We do need stability and I can't see how we would get that until we give someone a chance to actually build something. Is FL good enough I don't know but neither does anyone else. Looking at the team as it stands I can see improvements in both the defence and midfield based on last seasons performances. Up front we do need more quality however, we are short of funds so will have to wait and hope we can bring in someone in the next transfer window. We sold our best attacking player and there was no way we could have replaced him like for like given the amount of cash we had available. As for Gordon, I expect if a £60m bid had actually been made then we may well have sold him but it didn't. The miss management of this club was well before Lampard. He is just left trying to clear up the many mistakes made in the past which is no small task.

More to the point NickB, who else would have come. By accounts even Rooney didn't want the chalice.

Omg first time I completely agree with a post from dfs! Wonders may never cease Lol

I agree with your post geoffjohno and a very good one it was. Obviously in agreement that Frank is currently doing a fantastic job. Ed014 could be right and time will tell but for now he is doing brilliant in my humble opinion.

However I wouldn't make little of Poch. Top top manager in my opinion. Got Spuds to champions league final and wasn't he there for the transition into the new stadium. I'd be delighted with him coming to Everton. Be the best established manager we would have in probably decades bar Carlo A.

Not saying get rid of FL and get Poch as I said agree with your post apart from claiming Poch is an ok manager. Top drawer in my humble opinion.
