bw2412 I expect we need the cash the tournament will bring in for us. I imagine the organises will have some sort of financial penalty for those not turning up plus we probably have already out laid cash on flights accommodation and the like which will be non refundable. If we play two matches against Millonarios we will have played the preseason matches scheduled which is the important thing. Your right about being careful with C.V. though let's hope everyone stays safe.

On a serious note - the business we’ve done so far, and the lack of any business from others shows the impact of the C.V. on football. Prem clubs will recover if they spend sensibly this summer, other leagues and nations may not fare so well.
I don’t think that any of us believe that Townsend would be a Brands signing - but he does represent value at a time when we must adhere to financial fair play and be sustainable. We’ve shipped our players at end of contracts - some of the wages were huge, 200k between them approx. Add Bernard and Gylfi to that and we’re well on the way to being able to reshape the squad. Filling some key squad places cheaply should mean we can pay decent fees for 2/ 3 other players. Give it a few weeks and we’ll see where we are. Ed 666 - looking forward to Townsend slamming in a Worldy against Southampton on the opening day of the season 😃.

{Ed0666's Note - I appreciate what you say and I hear you mate but I just don’t see how signing mediocre players like Grai and Townsend benefits you? For what they add I would have blooded some kids. It’s not as if Grai and Townsend aren’t getting decent money. I understand there’s a universal finance issue within football currently and there needs to be an adherence to FFP but this is a banter site and if Liverpool had signed the dross you lot have I’d expect some serious banter and you guys ripping the p*as out of us. But I fully expect some decent signings from you guys before the window shuts aswell. Have a good weekend JB.
