Reports saying Everton monitoring Roberto Martinez as a replacement for Frank, any takers with this rumour.

I'll get stung here for saying it, but I would. I liked him. Back him up with a good defensive coach and yeah why not.

Martinez was great attacking but smas said needs defensive help.

That being said I still believe Frank should be given the next 2 windows before we start judging.

Takes more than 16 games amd 1 window to rebuild the mess we're in.

Big big no for me. You can have the best defensive coach in the world but it won't work has Martinez would rather die than alter his football philosophy. I like the guy buy it felt like philosophy came before results, the players, fans or the club. Plus players who he thought was quality but where absolute garbage was a major concern. His stubbornness on his philosophy, lack of defensive understanding and iffy judgement on quality means I'll give that a hard pass mate. It may work for the short term though I will give you that. I also understand missing expansive creative football but his defensive naivity was a hampering liability.

Are we not playing tippy tippy back to the keeper football now?
That's all I'm seeing and it's rubbish.
Rather have Hassenhutl.

RM coming back would be a time bomb waiting to go off he is just as dogmatic as Big Sam only in a different way of course.
Sooner or later we the fans would say we want more spontaneity and passion, and he would argue that it's his way or no way etc. . . We have been there already.

We may let in goals with Martinez, but we’d score them too, and likely have a better win ratio.
If we had more points on the board and a more attractive style of play, it would be difficult to argue against. Is it not fair to assume that he’ll have developed as a coach too? Belgium don’t ship loads of goals. I’ve been pro Frank but, Palace game aside, we’ve been poor for a while. If we assume that Coady, Tarkowski, Pickford would perform well under anyone of their own steam, has he got the best out of Gray, Gordon, Maupay… nope.
Would everyone assume that Poccentino would turn us down? Would anyone take a punt on Dyche?

Being the Belgian manager his calibre of player has risen from Wigan. So maybe he now knows what a "phenomenal talent" actually means? Ps I'm just playing Devils advocate. I still support FL as he's done some great work defensively and as Geoff said "can't fix a team in 16 games and 1 window" we really need to stick for 2 more windows. No magic wand (wasn't that a Martinez favourite line too? )

Ffs no, give Frank time, it’s not just him it’s all the back room staff that come with him, changing managers all the time got us in this mess. I said at the end of last season, this season will be about rebuilding the squad and from Tuesdays showing we need a good clear out and that’s not going to happen in two or three windows. Mid table mediocrity will do me with a reasonable run in a cup and build from there .
