After my first post this week I have continued thinking about how EFC will be able to progress both on the pitch and off it(EFC really does take over your life).

Over the last 20 years I have always heard us being called a 'Sleeping Giant', but are we any more? Are we passed that stage? Are we now a part of the also rans of the Premier League?

I just wanted some opinions from other supporters to see where you believe Everton FC is in the food chain of the Premier League.

I know for sure that as Everton Fc supporters we will all be there on the first day of the season screaming, shouting and singing for our team to rediscover what I believe we have always have been.

Thoughts?

Your only as good as your last season so that's where we are at mate, that's my opinion anyway.

2.) 24 Jul 2015 14:06:19
Thoughts are mid table. May revise my thoughts after transfer window closes.

3.) 24 Jul 2015 14:25:04
The reality is that Martinez methods will stabilise us but in the bottom halfish. The guy appears to think that success is struggle all season and then inject a boost in order to appear a successful side by escaping relegation to finish round about the middle of the Prem. Stand by for more excited, phenomenal, fantastic statements from our Manager.

4.) 24 Jul 2015 14:26:01
yep sleeping giant and giving Rip Van Winkle a run for his money

5.) 24 Jul 2015 15:13:08
Everton have always been also-rans. Never a big club. A small club with little or no success in their history. Only the deluded fans think otherwise.

{Ed001's Note - the same Everton that are one of the most successful clubs in England?}

6.) 24 Jul 2015 16:10:11
For you to say no success,means we have Never won anything.on that basis I think you should keep the garbage that comes out your mouth to a minimum,and go back to watching the cricket or golf,cos you know nowt about football son.

7.) 24 Jul 2015 16:39:48
Man City is a perfect example of what a bit of success, stadium and money can do for your club.

It's been 7 years and let's face it they don't half of the history we have.

So the answer is money, stadium and trophies could make us as big as the rest again.

Meanwhile.

It looks like TenoverTen has been allowed to drink a few shandies by his mum today, it was the last day of school after all.
Let me give you a quick education, we have a good history and we have been successful over the years. 4th most successful team in this country. We have won pretty much everything there is to win trophy wise, bar the league cup (Mickey Mouse cup right?) and the European cup (let's not open that bag of worms) so that is quite successful wouldn't you agree? Sure, the last 20 odd years haven't been kind but we have suffered at the hands of various owners since the Moore's family relinquished control. Therefore, we have been hampered by financial restrictions for some time yet we continue to play our football in the top flight. We haven't sold our soul to the devil for a quick quid like others, some have even done that twice, and we are a well run family club. There is plenty more I could say but I'm quite happy and proud. As for always being in Liverpool's shadow, you do realise that that club is our bastard child don't you? If you're going to troll another teams banter page, at least use decent banter. Your efforts have been quite lame so far

I'm a first time poster but have read rumours and banter for a number of years on the site. Everton FC have always conducted themselves in a professional manner regarding transfers (to the best of my knowledge), but i'm now starting to think that we are now seen as 'too nice'. I am desperate (as i'm sure all Evertonian's are) for one of the main men to show some back bone and clearly state what the situation is regarding John Stones. Either name our price or tell them to sod off in no uncertain terms.

Chelsea have had both their Manager and their Centre half on ssn basically begging stones to sign up. What have Everton offered? A fax or letter! This has got to be RM/BK 's chance to stand up and be counted for EFC and what we stand for. Whatever happened to "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum"?

JBBlue

{Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site mate.}

1.) 22 Jul 2015 18:03:38
Chelsea will definitely get their man.

2.) 22 Jul 2015 18:11:05
But they have JBB. I'm not sure what else there is to say!

Nice to here from you btw. Enjoy venting your frustrations here mate.

Cheers TA. I understand that RM has stated in a press conference that John is an Everton Player full stop but this week I have seen Mourinho and Cahill have individual interviews with ssn. Why hasn't Bobby or Bill done this?

I actually trust John Stones will stay with Everton. I just want us to be a bit more aggressive when dealing with the likes of the so called 'big clubs' and dealing with their underhand tactics.
