Hey folks, haven't posted on this website for well over a year although I've remained an avid reader. Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in for what it is worth now that the season is over. Firstly, never have I been so disinterested in a season before as much as this one. We were given nothing to cheer about for the whole season apart from a few decent European performances. The football we are playing is just bland, slow and predictable. Some of our better players just didn't perform, although it's refreshing to see such a talent like John Stones grace goodison park. Having said that, I think Martinez should be given one more year, there are absolutely no excuses next season, if he starts the first 10 games as badly as we played last season then get rid of him. Secondly, many probably won't agree with me on this but I think we need a serious restructuring of our squad, and I'd like to see Mirallas, Coleman, Barry, Oviedo, Gibson, and Barkley (I don't think he'll live up to the hype) all moved on. With the sales of them 6 players I guess we could raise about £85 mil? Then if I was in Martinez's shoes I'd try my hardest to bring in either Alcacer or Icardi, both phenomenal talents, with perhaps Dembele (Tottenham), alderweireld, Deulofeu back on loan and maybe Nolito. Along with this, I'd like to see Browning, Galloway and Ledson introduced more into the first team squad. Although, we all know it'd be really difficult to get at least one of those players as we don't really have the pulling power at the moment. Lastly, despite all the negativity surrounding us this season, the terrible performances, lack of heart my love for this club will never die and I look forward to next season. COYB!

With garbutt leaving I have no idea why people want to get rid of bryan. Why sell barry?. We have no chance of alcacer or icardi. Both would cost 18-20m and upwards. We would get 20 max for coleman an barkley=40m, oviedo 6m, gibson 2m, barry free, mirallas 10m, =58m. We would then spend 20m on icardi or alcacar. 38m left. 10m for dembele, 28m left. Nolito 12m, 16m left. 2m loan fee for deulofeu, 14m left. Alderwerield 8m, 6m left and we would still need 2 centre mids, a left back and on top of what we ready need in a new centre back and number 10. All for 6m? Seems unlikely.

we can all dream bitter. I think certain fans on this site would actually prefer to see you in Martinez's shoes.
31 May 2015 21:01:18
52 mill max mate
Gibbo 2
Barkley 20
Oviedo 5
Mirallas 10
Coleman 15
Barry free

Agree Swan re Bryan Oviedo.
Hope he comes back fit to start next season. Would be like a new signing and believe he could give us the balance left mid that we never had all last season.
31 May 2015 22:54:39
Welcome back Bitter it's been along time mate good to have you back.
01 Jun 2015 03:07:47
Welcome back Bitter. I agree, RM will get the first few months and if things aren't going too well that could be his lot. For that reason, I can't see him making wholesale changes as having to blood players may take time. I'm not sure who will go, although Mirallas is making himself a target, and I'm not too thrilled with the players we are rumoured to be interested in. I hope the press are well off the mark with the likes of Eavns, Muntari etc

Bryan is awesome. I think he should go not because I don't want him but for his own career. He needs to playing week in week out.
We'd need to pay Barry to leave so he may as well stay. Barkley will benefit with a break this year along with others that have been playing international football.
I would though sell Mirallas as he is a bad egg in the squad. a few new additions and from there it is all down to the manager and what he can do with them.
I'm terrified!

With all the speculation linking Man United players with Everton, eg Cleverley, Blackett, Evans, Januzai and Nani, wouldn't it be a better suggestion to just send Howard and Gibson back and swop over the managers. Would save a lot of admin costs.
Posting on Man U site about Cleverley, " he goes out of his way to make himself unavailable to receive a pass.

The Tories won the election, Cameron is still PM & now we're "in pole position" to sign Jonny Evans & Tom Cleverly - I don't remember killing 13 black cats with a broken mirror while walking underneath a ladder!!
31 May 2015 14:10:02
Your just trying to hide from your responsibility for Kenwright sill being chairmam.
31 May 2015 14:15:25
Could have been worse Tezza.
Just imagine Prime Minister Milliband and Chancellor Balls?.
That would have been 26 black cats, mirrors and ladders worth!
{Ed025's Note - sounds better than the tory lot to me mate..
31 May 2015 15:00:33
I'm with you on that one, Ed025. If somebody said I could get rid of the Tories but would have to keep RM, sign Cleverly, Evans & re-sign Koldrup, I think I'd do it! btw, don't understand the JCW post?

Just once I would like to see or hear independent political thought instead of tribal loyalties, Labour years ago betrayed the British Working man. The biggest disaster being Blair. Labour are finished, some of you need to get over it.
31 May 2015 21:07:12
simple.
Conservatives= good for rich people and bad for the rest.
Labour=good for people who love benefits and like mr bean running the country. Bad for rich people.
Snp-nicola sturgeon/surgeon/whatever is a plonker.
Lib dems-no one actually voted for them
Ukip-nigel farage has a wobbly neck
Green-bad for everyone in the uk.
I think we should give the pm positon to cleverley, anything to get him out of football!

Genius Swan, pure genius.
Perfect summary.
A career in Political Commentary awaits you.
Started my week with a smile, cheers.

Brilliant, Swan, sorry about my outburst but was just responding etc! Especially our Ed25 whom I seem to remember telling me a few back that this site is for football/sport not politics. ;-)

{Ed001's Note - editors?? You mean newspaper editors right?}
31 May 2015 09:48:16
Yes mushy, how about" blues loose out in race". and you can take your pick probably to the likes of Stoke,Leicester,West ham,Sunderland.
31 May 2015 10:06:05
Of course ed you would never enter the gutter press zone!
{Ed001's Note - just checking, I was thinking I had to remind one of our editors not to do that kind of thing for a second. I really hate the way newspapers work, what ever happened to just telling us the news that is actually happening? If they want to hitwhore, why don't they just do opinion pieces suggesting so and so would be a good signing for the club? That would still get the same links through search engines, people would still click on it and read it, but no one would be getting false hopes.}
31 May 2015 00:09:21
