Heard a strange one today, not sure if it's true, maybe someone can back this up or deny it, anyway, I was told that Big Dunc has been barred from the dressing room because of his influence on the squad. As I said, a strange one. Can't see it myself but you never know. It may explain Duncs lack of passion on the bench.

I know he was barred from the dressing room before a derby last year, Bobby didn't want Duncan getting them fired up before a game!
Prefareing them to be level headed!
That's why you see him on the pitch at half time playing with the subs.

Didn't Chelsea play hard ball when we signed Lukaku, I seem to remember them saying this is the price so if you want him then that's the price you have to pay. He has 3 years left on his contact so we're in no rush to sell. So bollocks to Chelsea, pay up or shut up. We hold all the cards.

Lots of people on here was slating Thierry Henry for saying that Barkley and Lukaku are consistently good enough to play for Arsenal. On seeing today's game can anyone really disagree with him. Don't get me wrong, the whole team today was poor. I'm just saying that Thierry Henry was and is a class act and knows a thing or two about football, maybe, just maybe he's got a point whether we like it or not .

Many Everton fans are so paranoid that they regard any criticism of the club or players as part of a sinister conspiracy rather than the views of pundits - who are, after all, paid to offer opinions (whether or not we like the pundits or their opinions) .
Reality check: face facts - poor performances and bad results don't lie when they're being repeated all too frequently.

Once again Barkley offers nothing in the form of any kind of defence. Dosen't tackle, dosen't challenge for headers, dosen't track back and is generally poor with possession (apart from his shot on the volley) . When we went down to 10 men although still playing well as a team it should of been Barkley who was subbed and not Stones. When you are down to 10 men you want every player giving 110% not carrying a player who strolls around the pitch like a pre Madonna. At times during the game it looked like we where playing with 9 men. Don't get me wrong, he's talented but only does it when we are totally dominating games and doesn't seem able or be bothered to roll his sleeves up and put in a shift for the team and more importantly for the fans. I'm really losing patience with him now and would welcome a big offer for him if a team is daft enough.

Is it me or does anyone else think Ross Barkley is an overrated prima dona. I expect more from a reportedly 50m rated player. One decent pass a game is just pathetic. Doesn't get stuck in, dosen't track back and his desicion making is awful. I know he's young but compare him to the likes of Gerrard at the same age and you then see that he's not that good. Would love to be proved wrong but I can't see it happening. Yes he's big and strong, yes he's got skill but does he dominate games, NO. Does he terrorise defences, NO. Does he score enough goals, NO. Does he create goals for others, NO. Sorry for going on but if someone if daft enough to offer us silly money then we should sell and use the money for a proper number 10.

I agree with both of you boys I think he's told not to tackle that's why Barry Mccarthy cleverly and besic all get the dogs jobs so as they can do his work to win the ball and give it to him and then he will lose it and the other lads get slagged off by all and sundry for not being great try watching barkley in a game and after 10 minutes you won't see him again for another 20 min and that's when he plays yet another poor ball it's all about martinez creating a media image I would sell him if the right offer came in only my opinion lads i'm not a kid I am 59 years old cob luv ya.

As swan will know I'm his biggest backer but hodgson rates him highly so more caps more money, too inconsistent and he plays too slow needs to go threw the gears faster played more than enough first team games to know the way it's played, shame because he's not fair off being class but loses the ball and makes too many mistakes still.

Didn't I see somewhere that Barkley is the top English player with assists this season with 7. Not bad seeing we're only bout half way through the season.

Blue jay you also compare the red fella to Barkley. Very unfair imo. That player has the benefit of having his career finished and was a very good player.

I'm sure all that time ago he wasn't much better than Barkley. It's in hindsight you can see how good the red fella was.

We all know Barkley has the potential to be as good. We wouldn't be comparing them otherwise. So give Barkley a chance and the encouragement he most definitely deserves and needs at this stage of his career.

I posted a couple of weeks ago re ross.
He has lots of ptential, skill etc, but not a footballing decision making mindset. don't know if it can be coached but its normally in you or not in you, I upset a few at the time, but stand by it. I do hope he proves me wrong I really do, for all our sake.

Ross Barkley is a very very good player. If you watched him just yesterday the amount of times he shrugged off players, made incisive runs and space was immense. You need to look at a player over the whole of a game. Mentions for Lennon, Barry, Marrallas and Besic. The offside goal we should not even be talking about though if Roberto would just use common sense and judgement when we are 2-0 up at a place like chelsea. Watched and listened to Moyes last night, he said Martinez is a good Manager and he has Everton playing good football 'but 2-0 up away at a Team like Chelsea, perhaps you should think about shutting up shop'. Stats don't lie and Roberto by all accounts is an analyst, perhaps the blinkers need to come off. Finally played some of the best football I have seen us play this season yesterday and look at the line up, Mirrallas and Lennon (tackles back also runs through the middle so for me should start over Del Boy at the moment) on the flanks, gave us good balance. Against Swansea though the favourites will be back.

DM your right I don't think half the people moaning about him actually watched him for 90 mins yesterday. He was our best player 1st half and even up until he was taken off he was causing Chelsea problems. He is 21, if that was a normal 21 year old that was called up for his 1st team debut yesterday then everybody would be saying how good he was a have a real talent on our hands. But because it Barkley we put so much pressure on him. Besic is getting the praise now but give it 6 months and fans will be on at him every time he plays a bad pass.

Can't believe all the rubbish about barkley, we haven't had a player this exciting for years who just wants to entertain with exciting football. There are obviously a few things in his game that need sorting out but getting on his back is not on when he is contributing goals and assists. It's the defence or lack of it that's the issue.

And the issue of our "playmaker" or our version of Silva that can't even pass the ball properly. He's got the passing ability of a lanky Phil Neville who's blindfolded.

{Ed025's Note - we need to get off the players backs guys imo, im sure slating them will not increase their confidence thats for sure..why dont we just roll with it and see where we end up and review at the end of the season..

Lots of people been saying that we should never of sold Naismith and yet when asked who would you take from any of these teams, no one even mentioned him.?
