I'm not sure which is funnier - Andy Gray's idea that "Moyes is a safe pair of hands"; or Andy Gray's idea that "Moyes could produce "another ten years of success for EFC".

Had Moyes stayed in 2013, we'd still be waiting for a win against the top 4, but we would be celebrating a top 11 finish! The only thing worse than Moyes would be Giggs. He'd have to buy a dummy so he could sit next to something in the dugout and practice his "Worried but not my fault" look.

{Ed033's Note - surely post of the week for the Giggs part.

Just read it to Brill, what planet is Gray on there mate.

How many times did we celebrate finishing 11th or lower under Moyes?

3.) 25 May 2016 15:22:34
NBTB 2 out of Moyes first 6 seasons we finished below 11th. Finishing 17th in one of them. As for his transfer dealings OMG some of the players he signed I had forgot about they were that bad. Li Tie, Simon Davies, Per Kroldrup, Richard Wright, Nuno Valente, James Beattie. To name but a few. He also broke our transfer record 3 times so the no money argument is ridiculous. We do not need David Moyes, but David Moyes needs Everton. Swerve this man at all costs. Would rather have Rhino than Moyes.

Yes bluegray87 they were at the beginning of his time at Everton. His last 5 years when he had things the way he wanted after being at Everton 5 years where did the team finish?

There is so much guff on here about Moyes that I almost wish that he would come back and we can spend another 11 years regretting it. Moyes lowered expectations to the extent that he was praised for keeping us up. Martinez raised expectations to the extent that he had to go because he showed the potential. And now we have a professional set-up, a proper academy, a youth policy and the best, most marketable squad for 30 years thanks to RM - and we could seriously consider bringing Moyes back? The worst possible candidate on the list by a mile.

Did you never go to watch the Academy/ Under 18/ Under 21 or Reserves then brill! The Academy etc! were there under Moyes, the youngsters were there under Moyes. Who did Martinez bring in? Mcgready, Del Boy (no idea how to track back so a luxury player) , McArthy (we have hundreds of him wanting to join Everton) . It is a Myth about Martinez, I keep saying it till Blue in the face, look at the blokes CV and stats it is all there yet people still rate the guy, I just do not get it.

2.) 25 May 2016 09:34:07
Who rates Martinez Bill, don't think anyone does any more mate.

martinez brought the club, squad down in my opinion. moyes done an excellent job, just look at the players he brought through the club. martinez got left an good squad (maybe near there end, wheres the pienaars, artetas, fellanis, mirallas, . martinez never replaced pienaar, osman, distin, fellani, brought in mccarthy, cleverly, kone, alcarez, eg. moyes had a good balancce in the squad, baines and pienaar, coleman and osman/ mirallas. does my head in when people say moyes not good enough, he is a good manager just p***ed a lot of people off.

Dazza

When he left us I was sorry to see him go mate, however he wanted to better himself and he failed (twice)

Now I want us to better ourselvse with a manager who won't hide behind lack of funds and because we are the 'peoples club'
No I want a manager who will take resposibilty for his desicions, believe in Everton football club challenging for the top honours and be bold enough to go out and win silverware!

David moyes bless him, has proved he doesn't tick those boxes.

I hope you're right. Moyes would be the end. Just think :finishing 11th with two semis would have been a triumph in Moyes-speak.
