I'm pleased with the squad. I think we will do ok this season. Iwobi is playing great and iwobi alan Decore Richarlison / gray - not too many teams with better midfield than that.
We have a solid defence - can't fathom how we can't buy a right back but hopefully Coleman / kenny / hollgate / Godfrey will see us through til jan
Pickford looking very reassured

Up top - DCL / Rondon (will suprise a few I think he will be a success) and Richarlison when not left wing have a lot of goals in them

I think Benitez seems to have players playing 20% better than last year - nice to see the effort levels - we've paid nothing for new players, moving to a new stadium - we are hopefully in for a good season

Ed - if we let James terminate his contract could he move somewhere for free at any point?

Why would he want to terminate a 200k a week contract?

Whatever wage we pay him per week, if he is still here when every window shuts then he should be utilised in the squad. He is a good player, when fit, so I'm sure he will be of use at some point.

Just think Rafa needs to sit him down and say you have 1 more year here, play for us well and put yourself in the shop window for next summer, because currently nobody wants you, it’s up to you to change that.

Think that’s a bit idealistic of you Gibbo.
Nobody wanted to pay a fee for him and pay him his wages.
Come next year when he’s out of contract he’ll probably easily get a new club - not on as much wages as he currently is but he’ll still get a club.
He’s going to get paid by us whether he plays or not, genuinely cannot see any incentive for him which will make him want to work his socks off for us. He doesn’t need to put himself in shop window as he’ll be on a free.
