How are we bound by ffp but yet all other clubs seem to be able to spend, how are city going to pay 250m for two players, Chelsea pay 100m for Lukaku.

If we were to spend 100m what would the punishment be? A fine Mr usmanov could pay?

{Ed002's Note - Other clubs have to work within FFP as well.}

If it was simply a fine for a breach of FFP then i actually think Mr. Modhiri would roll the dice and risk it, he doesn't hold back when it comes to stumping up funds so far.
I imagine the possibility of a transfer ban is why we can't (If that is one of the punishments available, I'm not actually sure) . Say we breached and received a ban, then next year we can't hold on to Digne, Doucoure, DCL and Richarlison. Our best four would be gone, we wouldn't be able to sign replacements, and our first eleven would be in tatters, i dread to even think what team we'd be able to field at that point. It may seem like an unlikely scenario but all 4 are players who will have potential suitors if they have another good season so not exactly a shock if offers arrived.
Based on a possibility like that does anyone really think we should still go out and buy players this window?

We finished 10th in the league. We have one of the worst football replica distribution and marketing policies in the top flight which pretty much guarantees you can’t by one of our tops from anywhere outside the city of Liverpool. And we wonder why Chelsea and city have an advantage financially. All clubs work within the rules. But because the FFP rules were brought in when these two had already spent without limit to get them to the top they will always be able to attract and afford top players. FFP is about sustainability, not necessarily fairness. And certainly not about equality.

Toffee ace, surely nowadays majority of kit is sold online should we not pushing ourselves out there. Why do we always have to play catch up with the rest of the premiership?

LhrBlue. Yes That’s true. But people only usually buy online as an alternative to the ease of popping into their local sports goods retailer where they can try on and see up close. If you just consider that between JD sports and Sports Direct there will be more than a thousand stores outside Liverpool selling replica shirts from most top flight teams but not Everton, that alone is an alarming situation that surely can’t be helpful. If we want to rub shoulders with the best like we did pre 1990’s then how about marketing our excellent shirts next to them in the UK high street.

{Ed002's Note - The income from shirt sales does not go to the club unless they are sold by the club.}

The percentage of our wage bill in comparison to turnover is a major worry. That needs to be addressed asap before we even think of big transfers.

I actually know that Ed as my work is very much a part of sports brands. From a point of view of elevating the clubs profile, not having them available in sports retailers will not help. This point was raised recently at a meeting I was in attendance. Keeping replica in house like Everton and for instance Swansea (at the time) was looked upon negatively.

{Ed002's Note - The sports sores outside of Liverpool won't take stock that they cannot sell, hence they are also available online. An Everton shirt in a shop in Southampton or Swindon will not raise the profile of the club.}

it's called Champions League Ant. get into that and your income can rocket. Really don't think we will be competing with these teams until we get the new ground mate.

Some people seem to be forgetting that we have spent money over last good few years and most the transfers have backfired and we can't shift them don't need to mention players that havnt been good you only need to look at are transfer history were in this mess for a reason I would be happy with outgoings this season me get this wage bill down needs to be done where going to take a loss on most of them anyways iwobi gomes Delph tosun moise mina not going to be many takers for them.

Of course it raises the profile maybe not at the percentages some would like.
