Loads of rumours that Sam Allardyce is in the running again as has admirers at the club and knows about relegation battles

Not sure what’s worse the rumours or the fact that it’s probably true ?.

Just said to my brother if it's true and he comes back then my seat will remain empty I can not go through watching his brand of football again.

Proof GD, if you needed it, that you shouldn't believe everything you read.

Allardyce/ Dyche or Bieslla? Obviously, have a set plan and idea how they want to move forward. Polar opposites.

Lampardstheman. I don't know what brand of football you're expecting to see when we're in a relegation fight.

You get me wrong smit666. The bloke was hired to do a job and he did it. Finished 8th and then smacked in the face (18 month contract ) . No matter what you think of the bloke, he did the job.

Of course going to be wild rumours flying around. Not going to be popular Big Sam. Put it this way, if we were guaranteed to stay up with Big Sam how many would want him?

I bet there is some who would rather go down. Personally I'd like him till the end of season. In my opinion, there is no better manager out there who is equipped to keep us in the Premier league, with the current situation we are in. Best bet in my opinion and well worth it. Obviously short term appointment.

Not going to be popular with people here but for the future of the club I think it's a small sacrifice to watch paint dry until the end of the season. Then in the summer hopefully improve further with the club in general to bring it in a better direction.

Pointless giving him a contract until the end of the season. Might as well keep him next season and build. Personally if he comes in I will not spend another penny with the club until he leaves.
He's embarrassed us once. Never again.

{Ed025's Note - sam bloody allardyce?, im already on the brink with this club, ...that might just tip me over..

Yeah he saving us from relegation was so embarrassing. It's in arguable that he was our most successful manager of recent time. I know his football was boring to watch but he got results. Blows my mind to think people would rather us get relegated than have him. We're not a big club, we need to adjust our expectations.

I'll be done with the game if they employ that snakey, gravy-guzzling, corrupt Fat Sam again.
The season of Koeman then SA made part of me fall out of love with the game a little bit. The worst 500 odd quid I've ever spent in my life, it felt torturous having to attend games.
I understand when some say he did the job he was employed to do, yes we finished 8th that year. But, and I've said it before on here, no team has ever been relegated in November. There were quite a few teams that were worse than us at that time. We needed someone to come in and give us direction and he did just that. Most names linked with us at that time would have kept us up, his tenure shouldn't go down as one of his great escape acts at all.
Wouldn't be surprised if this board appointed Dunc and Rooney as joint managers.
Haven't a clue where we go from here, it's just ground-hog day again like every January for last few years. Only name that I've been happy with has been Thomas Frank and I know that is totally out of the question. Horrible days ahead, even forgetting the threat of relegation, it is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better I fear.
